Loved visiting we wanted to do all three attractions - the pineapple maze, the garden, and the Pineapple Express train but the train had too long of a wait. The maze was fun had trouble finding our way around some time, the garden was pretty but if I had to go again I would skip it. Very sad we didn’t get to do the train hopefully next time. Gift shop was great took temperature before entering, lots of options (I love pineapple anything) we got the dole whip and definitely recommend!

Maze is kinda cute if you use the phone app and go early when its not to hot. The whipped pineapple is good to snack on as you wondered the maze. Store has some nice wood souvenirs towards the back. Small kids seemed to like the train ride and just a nice morning activity before the beach. Not much to eat for lunch here. Wouldnt plan on it as a meal stop. If your little girls like to pick an oyster to get a pearl, they have alot of those here. The price to have it affixed to anything is extremely over priced, this maybe a disappointment to your little girl. Easier to buy a bracelet with thier name in Hawaiian and a plush pineapple doll then call it a day.

A nice place to go and visit and have pineapple soft serve. They have a maze and a train ride to explore the pineapple plantation. They have a garden with different varieties of pineapples from all over growing and it’s cool to see it up close. They also have cocoa plants on the plantation and Hawaii is the only place in the US that grows it’s own cocoa beans. They even had coffee bean plants too which is cool. They also have a pond where you can feed koi with fish pellets. The gift shop has a lot of items from local places and you can even buy pineapples to take home or mail home.

Not what I was expecting when I originally arrived. I thought it was going to be a guided walking tour full of information, I was sorely disappointed. Would have liked if they had areas to taste pineapples versus only a food court. The train tour is definitely a must see. Even though there is a long wait for the train depending on what time you go it was enriching to hear all the information about the history of Some Pineapples and how it came into fruition. Definitely a man to research if youre in the food business realm. How he started and scaled up some pineapples should definitely be in the history books.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Dole Plantation. It was cool to see the pineapples growing in the field, along with other produce. We chose the train and garden package. I highly recommend the train. There was audio that played during the ride that explains the history and what youre seeing around you as you ride. The garden tour (self-guided walk) wasnt a standout, but perhaps it was because it was winter when we went. A few beautiful flowers, though! Also, make sure to get the Dole Whip! It is delicious - especially with the pineapple topping. The two of us shared one and it was the perfect amount. Theres also a pineapple cutting demo that Id cool to watch and solves the common question of how to effectively cut a pineapple.Ultimately a great place to go and highly recommend allowing a few hours for it.

If you’re renting a car while vacationing in Oahu, it is WORTH the drive alone just to eat their pineapple soft serve ice cream (get the one with pineapple chunks)!Admission is free to get in; however, there’s additional fees for every other activity if you choose to do them (check their website for current prices). There’s a maze, a self-guided garden tour, and the Pineapple Express train tour. We opted not to do the garden tour or the maze (especially in >30C heat). The 20-minute train ride was $11 and was fully narrated the entire time, educating guests about the history of Dole and the growth & harvesting process of their pineapples and other produce.Back to the ice cream! It was about $7 for a cup. But the portion was huge! They also have reasonably priced hot foods in their cafeteria, but we didn’t have any. This place was a crowded tourist trap! It is a good stop to purchase a snack (if you are okay with medium sized lines) and some souvenirs before hitting the road again. I do not recommend the $11 train ride if you are looking to learn much about Dole or the process. There were some tiny tidbits of facts on the slow train ride but not enough to get a good understanding of all that Dole did for the industry or local economy. The train ride takes you past a representative number of plants produced by Dole, most of which were dying, dead or looked like they were just planted with hardly any fruit. Would have liked more information in pamphlet or on signage about the history of Dole and a highlight of all they have done for the Hawaiian islands. They pose you to take your picture getting on the train and they print out your pictures for purchase at the end of the ride for $15 each. No one purchased a photo off the full train I was on... a total waste and harmful for the environment... they should highly consider offering a video view of a photo instead of printing out thousands of these photos per day. Inside the shop was a mad house but it was organized well so it was easy to navigate to what you wanted to focus on. Could not find any stand or helpful signage on purchasing whole pineapples to go for shipment but found out after asking that any cashier in the store has the ability to place an order.

The Dole plantation is not otherwise thought about unless you are a tourist or have business to take care of of withe Dole. The plantation is historic and beautiful while also extraordinary and large. This being one of the companies historically famous and more profitable and productive properties. It is a very large farm in Oahu. Having been there pre 1989, the plantation was open and usually a private invite was in order I the context of a business investment showing/opportunity as the company was I believe situated in the early 1900’s. The company later had acquired properties in Central and South America as well as the Phillipines I believe. I then visited the Island again In the early 1990’s and now the Dole plantation was open to the public for tourists and family outings. Around that time I was working full time in a company that had a it’s mission of “Servicing the food Industry”; incidentally, at that time I worked as a shipping/receiving Foreman who was one of a handful of shift members that kept this business and its 6 million plus pounds of products being transported on tractor-trailers weekly. The annexation of Hawaii became an intelligent and integral decision that helped the food industry in that the tariffs that would be due as a result of precious products that would be needed on the mainland. This very well may have crippled this company and the many involved with it; in addition the company also had a footprint in the State of Delaware, which would have changed the dynamics of the company and therefore the careers of many attorneys, bank officials, investment holding companies as well as the large amount of debt securities that were. Issued in the form of of course Credit Cards and other Debt securities and obligations. At some point of course with so much going on there was a need for SEC filings, 10q, 10k you get the idea. To make a long story short, the trip to Hawaii was roughly a 2/3 point on the way to Japan as the Island found it increasingly beneficial to speak with the salesmen and of course the Foremen, what we call in the business and down on the docks the “ shipping and receiving “ guys. During this time and if you ask me these economic dynamics existed and of course still remain; the geo graphic access and availability of this commodity along with governmental pressures such as currency and storage were solved somewhat by a team we sent out; as a result, the particular cuts of meat. most in demand were purchased and stored in lots of approximately 16,000 kilogram or 40,000 pound “racks” usually 7 racks or so at a time. These were stored with us and flash frozen or stored at Newark Refrigeration at a premium for this type of assistance. At least the trip worked well from Dole food and fruit products perspective, a lovely vacation also which is always welcome and enjoyed, the country and people of Japan surely benefited and was not shy in showing their gratitude, Central and South America had beautiful properties and regardless of what is seen on Television or in the movies the beaches and the countries themselves ( especially Panama) are truly blessed and beautiful. A very nice trade off was every holiday season, whether it comes via China then arriving in Japan, without fail 80 to 120,000 pounds of shrimp and likewise 120,000 pound of Lobster tails made its way to let’s just say to the East coast of the United States weekly for the month leading up to the holiday. This for that? Visit the Dole plantation it is well worth the trip, the train ride is nice and just to see the beautiful plantation that has been around for 200 years as a staple in the fruit/food area of kitchen table eating/economics/politics. I will write a separate review on the USS Arizona and its memorial as you stand above viewing this beautiful Navy Vessel that you can view above its grave as a reminder of the United States servic men and women as well as billions in assets that were lost here; more importantly the souls and the trust and openness in what is our 50th state.

They also have a small cafe where you can get fresh pineapple, dole whips (you can even add fresh pineapple topping to them), and an array of other food for lunch as well. Definitely worth stopping by and checking it out.

Amazing Dole Plantation. Lots of people. Pineapple juicy is really cheap only $1. Ice cream is also good. Maze is fun.

Great spot to come before a north shore trip to get pineapple soft serve/floats and explore what they have to offer.

Basically a huge gift shop surrounded by a few interesting bits and pieces. The pineapple ice cream was delicious though. The garden maze was also fun, but try not to take the shortcuts. You’ll get a map so go have fun finding those checkpoints!

It was my first time there and we did the train, garden and hit the store (we didnt do the maze). I think the best part was the store where you can get the Dole soft serve and many other pineapple items. I recommend the soft serve with the cut up pineapple and pineapple gummy bears. I would want to go back just for that as the train ride and garden (small) are overpriced. For 3 adults and a toddler (he was free) it was like $50 buck. Better of spending that on some food. Parking is free.

Dole plantation was a great quick stop on the way to the north shore from Honolulu! It doesnt cost anything to get in, but all the activities have a fee. We only did the 20 minute pineapple express train ride which was entertaining. Definitely a must stop at least one time. Pineapple whip ice cream is delicious, bathrooms were clean, staff were very friendly.

Good to experience and enjoy the pineapple garden. Small area, price a bit higher side but since it is in Hawaii so that reasonable. Take the train ride (pineapple express). Don’t forget to try pineapple split.

Interesting place, cool tours but a bit pricey. Lots to buy there and you can learn about local agriculture on top of just what Dole plantation does. Very crowded and almost like a theme park. A little silly, but still neat. The pineapple ice cream is worth splitting with a friend or loved one. The chocolate is pretty good too .

Tourist trap. Dole whip is famous, of course, but the rest of it - the train ride, pineapple maze, etc - is just a crowded mess. Its the sort of place that a tacky cruise ship dumps a few hundred passengers for half a day.

Great place to learn about pineapples in their stages. Alot of tourists visit this place. Peaking is available but good luck finding one if youre stopping by because its always packed. Havent gone through the maze. There is a train ride. Little shops in the building inside and outside. The stores open from 0930 to 1730. Great place!

We had such a great time. The best part was the pineapple ice cream. Its INCREDIBLE and were dying to go back. The maze was fun and kids had a great time. The only thing I would suggest is sunscreen because youre out, under the sun for hours and hours. One of the key highlights of our trip

This place has everything pineapple that you can think of. If you are a pineapple enthusiast then this is the place for you. There is a pineapple maze as well as train rides at the plantation. Beware it gets BUSY and packed. Lines get long so get there early. The pineapple treats at the on-site foodcourt had nice options to choose from. There is also tons of pineapple memorabilia to purchase. A fun place for the entire family.
