I have passed this theater I dont know how many times in the five years i have lived here. My wife and i finally decided to give it a try. We looked on line and made our registration. It was very easy to do and we received immediate confirmation. Upon arrival, we were greeted pleasantly by Kat. She explained everything to us and gave us our drinks and took our food order. We went to our seats and were surprised at how comfortable they were. Plenty of space, a private table and a great view. The food arrived at our table pretty quickly and we realized we had totally over ordered! The plates were magnificent. Because it was a matinee, we only ordered the chicken fingers and the barbecue fries. They tasted magnificent. They had fantastic offerings for beer on tap and a well equipped bar. Pricing was more than reasonable. Kat was delightful and really made us feel comfortable. I can not imagine ever watching another movie in Virginia Beach at any other theater. If you are looking for good food, good drinks, reasonable prices and comfortable accommodations, look no further.

The movie was a bust, but the experience was great. The menu selections were fun and tasty foods and the table service was very nice. Servers were courteous and aware of space constraints. Bartender was very helpful with recommendations and assistance. Great beer selections and a variety of spirits on hand. The manager on duty, Lisa, was professional and efficient while handling a small issue. Her professionalism gives this location 5-stars!

I have lived near this theater for almost 3 years and kept wanting to go, finally I went on opening night to see Aladdin and then again to see Lion King and Maleficent, Mistress of Evil. Since I didn’t go until 10pm each time (after I got home from work), the theater was empty and my boyfriend and I enjoyed the movies by ourselves! The waiters took great care of us each times and our food was delicious!

It is a very nice theater. Overall service is fairly good. However, food service wasnt that good and that was very disappointing. Food service hasnt been that great since the theater has changed ownership. BBQ is consistently extra gristly, food served cold and the wait staff and management on duty dont seem to acknowledge my concerns in a way that seems sincere. I dont really want to write reviews like this. Especially about a locally owned business. I hope for improvement when I visit again. A lot of good movies are coming out in the fall and Im looking forward to giving you guys another shot and revising this review for the better.

Movie was great! But the floor was very sticky. The waiter forgot to bring our drinks until halfway through the movie. Great concept but I dont think Ill return to this theater.

Comfortable seats. Great process to order food in advance, dine during the previews, and settle in for a good movie. Makes me want to watch movies at the theatre again.

It was a great place, love the choice of being able to pick your seats. Just need to upgrade to recliners. Nice to be able to eat, drink and watch a movie.

Love this place! Its like a nicer Cinema Café. Regular ticket prices but a full food and drink menu. Once the show starts you have to place your own orders at the main bar, which limits disruption during the movie. I do wish the trays for your food were a bit bigger because they dont fit a drink and tray, but overall I love this place!

Went twice and both times the people selling tickets and behind the bar were great. The first time the food was great but the second trip the food did not taste very fresh which an unpleasant surprise.

The food is great quality and portion sizes when compared to another local eat while you watch movie theater in the area. Sound quality and picture quality are solid. What I love best is their policy of guests needing to order before the movie starts. It cuts down on servers walking the aisles during the movie.

I had a delicious salad. The staff is nice and accommodating. The seats are comfortable but the table is too small for a meal compared to other movie/dinner places. We will visit again but will order food with this in mind. Consider small plates and tapas.

WE arrived 30 minutes before show to eat. Ordered as soon as we got to seats, but meal never came until show started. Everyone one else, arriving later than us, got meal. When meal came no utensils came with it. And server gave us bill before food even came! Terrible service! Absolutely no apology made. Awful.

Like it if its still open. They have some owner/management problems that causes them to to close on the rare occasion. Other than that you can eat and order a beer or (maybe a drink.I dont remember) good place

Great concept, service, and movie selection. The theaters are spacious, however, the seats are slightly uncomfortable. Nonetheless, the picture quality is terrific and its a nice place to watch a movie.

This was my first experience at a dine-in movie theater. It was weird eating in a reclining position. The bar messed up my order and I ended up with two replacements, which was way too many. If I wasnt sitting with my kids, I would have been more happy about free beer!The food was surprisingly good quality, but I was even more surprised at the bill ($120 for 2 kids, 2 adults - 1 pizza, 1 burger, nachos, 2 things of candy, 2 Sprites, a 22 oz beer, and a cocktail). I couldnt see the receipt because it was dark AF so I hope that all added up.

This place has spacious seating with a table in front of your seat to share with your partner while watching a movie. They have waiters and/or waitresses coming to you every once in a while to ask for any more service. Which is the only flaw to this theatre, they make noise while walking and talking to the customers while movie is playing. But still has an overall rating of excellent. Has a bar in the lobby with almost all kinds of drinks. The price is cheaper than regal. Overall great movie theatre!

Everything was fine until a bug came crawling across the table. I bought it to the attention of staff, one was a manager! One guy who came into the theater killed the bug. I went back to see what the staff had to say about it. They almost insinuated that somehow the bug problem was a mystery. You serve full meals in this establishment a bug problem is no mystery! I have more of a problem with a lack of response or need to make it right. The staff just spoke among themselves as if they have no problem-solving skills. All around disgusting the bug and the lack of response! This was my first and last time in this place.

Facilities are average compared to similar theaters. My in-movie burger looked amazing but tasted meh with little flavor. It filled me up at least. The projection quality, seating and audio quality are all good. There is a good selection of alcohol.

We only go to the movies at Beach Cinema...great big leather chairs and the food is good...staff Is very friendly and helpful.

Good value for the money spent. Ticket price about same everywhere ... but franchise theatres will charge $15 at the concession stand for large bucket of popcorn and drink ... for the same amount ... I had blackened tuna and salad ... and a beer!

Study the online menu before you go so you can make quick choices! Once the movie starts, no more interaction with the serving staff.

Great movie experience. Full service bar, with very good selection of beers on tap. Good menu. Reserved seating with a table in front of you in the theater. Order and drinks and food are delivered to your seat before the movie starts. We loved it! Only minor gripe was the volume for the movie was very loud!

Would rate 2.5 stars. Impressed with the food quality, attentive and courteous staff, and general atmosphere. Was NOT impressed with cropping of the movie onto the screen (pic of credits attached). Daylights scenes were also unnaturally washed out. Cropping wasnt enough that youd miss most action but enough that many closeup scenes had the tops of actors heads awkwardly chopped off up to their foreheads. For the amount we paid per ticket alone (similar to large chains), this is unacceptable. Yes the food was good, but I came for the movie. Management, please update your tech or calibrate frequently, whatever it takes. Some moviegoers might not have noticed but it very very much detracted from my viewing experience.EDIT: Robert, the owner, asked that I email him more details. He seemed intent on tracking down the issue with his staff. Though I have not been back since, it is very possible that they addressed the issue. I have decided to leave my original review and rating until I go back, to reflect my experience.

Havent been in many years but had a blast

Me and hubby were planning to dine in while watching bad boys for life but we couldnt get servers attention. I told two different staffs we needed to order but still servers hustle by and we couldnt place order and 15 min into the movie we were still hungry and desperate trying to look around to see if we could get someones attention. No luck and we gave up. Unless you are planning to dine in thats if you can find a server to order with and expect staffs to move in and out and it would be much more noisy than regular theater. We will not be returning to this cinema cafe

The atmosphere is top notch. It has a nice pleasant scent in the theater. The service was fast and friendly. With that being said the food, overpriced. Non reclining chairs. I asked the waitress if a 14.95 pizza would feed me and my 3 kids she said it has 8 slices I’m like cool. They bring out a small plate of pizza cut into small squares. We ordered. The pizza was definitely freshly made however, the taste of the Sicilian was more like a supreme pizza. We spent $74 buck! My first and last time attending this theater. Cinema Cafes have cheaper options and better tasting food.

Food and table service were great, however, while watching the movie there was an incident I think management mishandled and it ruined my experience. About halfway through my movie a gentleman began talking non-stop. Another group in the theater shh-ed him, and he flipped them the bird and kept talking loudly to himself.I found talking alone to be rude, not to mention distracting, so I complained to the manager and told them that Id like them to ask him to be quiet. They did, but as soon as they left the theater, he began talking again. I left for a second time, explained the situation and asked for a refund. I wasnt given one, which I understand, I saw half of the movie.Since the theater doesnt have a problem with customers rudeness ruining other customers experiences I wont have a problem not going again. I dont think its too much to ask a theater to enforce the idea of being quiet during a movie, if it is Ill go elsewhere.

We have been here three times this week and many times before and love it! Drinks were good and theater was clean and comfortable with great service. The young people working in all areas from ticketing to bar to in-theatre are so polite, helpful, great servers- can’t say enough good things. The food is amazing and the Avacado burger is what dreams are made of. Loved the beach fries, onion rings, pizza, and more. Beer and other alcoholic drinks were cold and great too!

Hello! Yesterday, I saw the movie Captain Marvel. The movie itself wasnt anything special, but the service was amazing! The gentleman who ran my meal to me, Jason, I believe his name was, brought my meal to me quickly, and was very courteous. He even gave me am extra sauce without me asking! 5 satr service, which I believe deserves a 5 star review. I intend to return to this fine establishment in the future. We went for a matinee. Tickets were a little more than I would have liked. The food was expensive for what it was (we ordered wings and fries) but the fries were good. The ads in the beginning (basically commercials for some reason) are played on a terrible small speaker, but the movie itself sounded fine. The seats were comfortable and the theatre was clean. Overall, I liked it and will probably go back but if you don’t need a full meal, I’d recommend a different theatre.

The venue is incredible. I could definitely see another movie here. What made it almost intolerable was the people in the theater... which is not the fault of the establishment. But man. The people here suck. Talking throughout the entire movie. Being loud and obnoxious. Its like the people in attendance were completely oblivious to social custom.This venue is fantastic. I cant give enough credit to the staff customer service. The people in the area who come here, though, suck.I havent had this poor of an overall experience in a while.

My husband and I had been coming here exclusively for the last three years; however, since the change in ownership we have found ourselves less inclined to come in and have been going to big name theaters. The food is still great. We love that our favorites are still on the menu. But the customer service has been less than stellar and not what we have come to know this theater for. Very specifically our last four times coming in, we’ve had to wait a significantly long amount of time to order food despite the theater not being full. The expectation is that patrons come in 30 minutes before showtime to place their food order. More recently, we waited 15+ minutes for a server to show up and this was due to my husband walking out the theater to ask about service. We got our food during the end of the trailers, and our film experience was interrupted as we began the show with a glaring light of our server’s phone shining down on the receipt as we tried to pay. We used to refer out of town friends and family. We hope to see some improvement to once more continue our referrals and our exclusive patronage.

Movie time fit our schedule in the moment so we caught a weekday matinee. Entry price a little higher than cinema cafe about 22 bucks for 1 adult 2 kids. Food prices were a bit high too. No popcorn combos? Priced separately popcorn, sodas etc wanted more options and wasnt a big fan of the menu over pricedfor sure. Loved that it was empty we enjoyed the entire theater to ourselves.

Felt pampered a server takes your order and brings your food and drinks to your table. Not just popcorn but real food. The southwest chicken rolls were great. The seats were comfortable which is s big plus. Overall very enjoyable evening.

If your goal is to get a meal and or also have a beer while watching a movie this place is spot on. The food is really good, Ive only gone the burger and wings route but would recommend both. The local beers are great but the tap lines probably need to be changed and cleaned more frequently. The theater is acceptable being they have good beer and good food. The image quality seems to be a bit dated. Its not awful by any means but Ive seen crisper images for sure. The staff is overall pretty good no issues.

It was nice, we went to a 9:40pm showing and all these young adults were just talking away during the entire movie. Its the movies people thats means be quiet because your not the only ones there. Came in last night with a good friend to see MI. Id never been here before, and am generally somewhat skeptical of combo dining/movie type places, so what wasnt sure what to expect. The whole experience was wonderful. We stopped first at the bar and bartender Brittany was amazing...super friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel completely welcome and relaxed. The meal was better than I expected,,, there were no complaints about the food, which was what I consider excellent for this type of establishment .Of course, the movie was great as well! Beach Cinema is a real class act and its awesome to know there is a place in this city that really tries and cares. I will be back!

Love the place. HATE the food. We were so grossed out. We didn’t finish our food and ended up ordering popcorn and that was cold too.

Absolutely fantastic! Every time we come, the service is great, and the food is delicious! It is well kept up and clean, and the theater generally has the movie start right on time as well. You watch the previews while you order, and then the movie starts shortly after the start time make sure you get there at least 20 minutes early so that you can actually order enjoy yourself and not be in a rush. The service is excellent, and we really enjoy coming to see movies here! Highly recommend!

The food is not that good anymore. Burnt fries and barbecue. You pay more for food and it get worst and less food. But staff is great. They do try to fix

The front staff was friendly and welcoming, the menu has changed significantly. Many of the old choices are not listed. We decided to share the chicken nachos, and it was down right awful. We will return to a see a movie, but will make sure we eat before going in.

We are here on vacation and although I read a lot reviews and saw some negatives that had me wondering, we decided to give it a try and DO NOT regret it at all. It was an amazing experience! So roomy and the price was very good in my opinion. Draft beer was cold and very good. Food was amazing. Service was outstanding. We will most definitely go back and on top of that I have shared with our friends and family back home. Keep up the good work guys. I can’t say one bad about our experience. Definitely satisfied.

I really want to see this become a 5 star environment soon. I feel bad leaving 3 stars but I cant give more on potential alone. You need great working AC & better tech. Its not the service ( really you could trim that some, and have salary management). Invest on the tech and dont save food after the previews start. Thats your golden ticket.

I havent been here in a while, but I noticed some upgrades. The seats are more comfortable, and it seemed more cozy. Kudos. The food was tasty, and the service was very good. I saw Meg, and it was awesome. The picture quality was on point, and the surround sound was amazing.

Great, unique theater with dinner options and drinks. The waiting staff is always courteous, quick, and the food is great! The one small issue Ive had is with food runners not knowing the location they should deliver to... When I was last there we were asked three or four times if we ordered something when it was intended for a different seat. This isnt a big issue obviously, but it could easily be fixed by getting a bit more training on seat numbers.

Beach cinema Alehouse is a great place to take your family if youre on vacation at Virginia Beach and you get a rain day. Good food with clean and comfortable seating areas is what youll find there. Dont worry about getting there too early because if you do you can always sit down and have a few drinks before the movie starts.
