Mia and her staff are wonderful! We had a company event at the VB Resort Hotel and Mia and Happy Winds organized a cornhole and bucket ball tournament for our group. She kept us organized made the games quick enough so that everyone could participate. We had a wonderful time! Thanks, Mia! We will definitely be back!

I would definitely recommend Happy Winds! Very friendly staff that are always there to help with anything you need. Was able to walk right up and rent anything we wanted! My family and I had so much fun! Cant wait to go back!!!

I would highly recommend Happy Winds to anyone visiting the area. The staff was super knowledgeable and so nice. The area is amazing, it is so beautiful to get out on the water and paddle. There was plenty of options to do especially for my kids A++

I stumbled across this gem when I was looking for something outdoors and in the water. My kids have thoroughly enjoyed the summer camps for the last 2 summers. Mia always went out of her way to accommodate us. When I had my mother in-law drop off the kids and wasnt able to walk them down all the stairs to the beach with her MS. Mia had one of her staff walk up and meet my kids and walk down with them. I love the fact that the kids could just pick and choose days that they wanted to come and not have to pay for a full week. My kids learned a lot over those 2 summers. Thank you Mia and Staff....Amanda

I concur with the fact that the one-star rating was quite inaccurate. Ive been going to Va Resort for 20 years with my family. For most of those Ive come to know and love the folks at Happy Winds. They are the utmost professionals but also must care for the safety of their guests and protect their investments. I also witnessed this adult put his dog on the rubber inflatable for fun. I could not believe my eyes, but fully supported the Happy Windows folks confronting the man who acted like they were overreacting. I hope this persons dillusional review is also removed.

I love having access to sailboat rentals in our community. They also have a bunch of other toys available and an amazing kids camp that I wish was for adults. The staff are always smiling and very accommodating. Love the beachy vibe.

I really enjoyed renting a sailboat from Happy Winds! Very friendly service. It is a great set up right on the beach. Kiteboarding lessons look like a lot of fun too.

Fantastic people, with great instructors and an awesome attitude. I took kiting lessons from Will and Mia, and learned so much from them! It was easy to schedule, they were always on time, and I learned so much. Their teaching technique is awesome, and it was easy to learn. Highly recommend Happy Winds to learn how to kite in Virginia Beach.

I couldnt help but respond to the inaccurate and off-base review posted above. As an active and frequent user of the beach at the VB Resort, I am very familiar with the business practices at Happy Winds, and the constant abuse that drunken, disrespectful people routinely subject the HW employees to. These self-righteous, arrogant folks are very rarely Resort customers. They come to the beach by boat, anchor in the middle of where everyone is trying to enjoy themselves, and act as if they own the place with loud music, inappropriate language, and general buffoonery.The party who appear to have left the only 1-star review for this exceptional business seem to be one that I witnessed this weekend as a perfect example of this type of Me! Me! Me! attitude of folks who have more cash than class and think that every weekend is MTV Spring Break.I saw this scene go down in which a family in one boat rented the inflatable water platforms from Happy Winds, and then as they left the floats to go to the beach, everyone from the other boats began piling onto the floats and acting like idiots. One guy was throwing his dog all over the inflatable trampoline which is what caused the staff to come out to finally stop the madness (or try to). A dogs claws can destroy one of those things in seconds, and with no rental contract, deposit, or even a name for these people, Happy Winds would have no way to collect on any damage to their equipment. Did the staff yell? Yes. Did the guy with the dog threaten the staff and scream profanities at them loudly enough for everyone on the beach to hear? Absolutely.Shortly after the dog incident, three middle aged women attempted to climb onto the float, but at least one was so drunk that they had to be flopped up onto it by one of the guys in their boat. (Im guessing one of these women is the reviewer above). The HW staff again came out and explained that the floats are for rent, and that the one they were on was rented. When the ladies argued that their friend had rented it, they were told that the party that had rented the float had explicitly pointed out that the drunk people on the float were NOT with them.So, while I understand the reviewers desire to be treated with respect, Id suggest that earning it would be a good way to start. People like to say that the customer is always right, but if youre not a customer, but rather just a drunk person pirating a businesss property, then you are not right. You are a liability.When considering whether or not Happy Winds is the type of business you want to work with, please consider the rest of the very complimentary reviews here and then also consider whether you respect a small business that goes out of its way to protect its equipment and customers from rude, drunk people who couldnt care less about anyone but themselves.As a frequent and happy customer, I know that Ill be going back, and that I hope to see the whole team at Happy Winds stand up for themselves and their customers and not allow anyone to intimidate them with inappropriate behavior, language, and reviews. I hope that Google will remove the defamatory 1-star review Im referring to. This type of petty garbage devalues the review process and makes these review ratings less valuable to the rest of us. I know that the Happy Winds team works hard to earn their reputation, and its pathetic to see one person try to lash out and take that from them.

I worked on Mias staff in the Summer of 2012 and couldnt have been happier! Other reviews deem her business a gem - diamond in the rough is more like it! The small staff is personal; the available activities range from delights to excites; and the prices are fair for the locale and quality. Mia is a good friend and incredibly gifted leader.
