While this theatre has always held a close place in my heart - their response to the pandemic and how they have reopened with their first cabaret show “Hope” is a perfect example of why they are a staple to our community and a priceless piece of art that should always be a focal point of the community. They represent the best of us and can always guarantee a perfect night out.

First time visit on Saturday November 2, 2919 to see Mama Mia. Sound quality is great and the theatre is small enough that any seat is probably a good one. I was in second row and super close to the stage. Very enjoyable and quaint theater.

Great local Performing Arts Theater - a Venice jewel. We attended the Neil Diamond tribute and had a great time. Mr. White was energetic and had a wonderful voice. If you love Neil Diamond. you will enjoy this show.

Charming performing arts theater in downtown Venice, FL. We went to the opening night of Smokey Joe’s Cafe, a revue of pop songs written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. There’s an art gallery upstairs and not a bad seat in the house. Performances still seem to be coming together, but enthusiasm is not lacking!

Very active theater! Warm atmosphere.

Love this place. It has fun shows. Great for a night out. We have gone to three shows and it has been worth the time and money.

On 12/19/2018 we went to see A Christmas Carol. It was the first play I have ever attended. All of the actors, young and old were delightfully good and right on cue. The sets were nicely done. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and the entire play. I now look forward to many more plays at the Venice theatre. Bravo, bravo, bravo.

I dont know who redesigned this theater but come on. Im not an especially big person and the seats are so tight and uncomfortable that I will really have to think twice about coming back.Weve seen countless shows here and enjoyed most of them.Urinetown hasnt even started and my neck and back hurt. Forget about leg room.Youre not supposed to be crammed into little seats at the theater.If you have to, charge an extra $5.00 and get rid of some these seats so people can spread out and enjoy the show.HORRIBLE!*Youll notice Ive upgraded my review to four stars. The manager of the theater is a wonderful lady who assured me the theater was not re-done, so maybe the seats we were in are tighter than the rows where we usually sit.My point being, when I explained the problem I was having with the seats, the manager had no problem with us moving to the empty handicapped seating. She knows about providing excellent customer service. And the play we saw, Urinetown was great too.

SOUTH PACIFIC WAS SUCH A TREAT - WOW!!!My friend Sheila treated me to this play this afternoon and I loved every minute of it. I have always enjoyed the music of this charming play, but Venice Theater really got some great actors to portray all these roles! Yes, it was a long play, but I did not mind since I loved it from beginning to end!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Went to see Hermans Hermits on tour. Presentation and technical aspects were good. Beverages for sale before and at intermission at a reasonable price and can be taken into the theatre. All-in-all a good venue.

Great theater in a great location. Its a very small theater with no bad seats. Not positive on the exact number, but there are around 20 rows making it a very intimate theater. There is a full bar with some small snacks. Last time I was there I saw South Pacific and they had drink specials that were themed around the play. As we left all the actors were waiting near the bar and doors to chat with on the way out. Picking up tickets and finding parking was easy.

My wife and I went to see Always Patsy Cline. It was one of the best shows that we have ever seen at Venice Theater. Congratulations! Ray and Linda Gordon Venice

I highly recommend Smokey Joes Cafe, currently at the Venice Theatre. The show is full of high energy, great singing, and lively dancing. I especially like the quartet of men singing Keep on Rolling. This was possibly the best show I have seen at the Venice Theatre.

Lovely theater in a historic building. Seats were comfortable with good leg room. The show we saw (a John Denver tribute) was excellent. The stage had plenty of room to accommodate the concert.

South Pacific was a wonderful production. Small theater. Every seat is good.

Whether attending a performance in the large theater, or the Pinkerton theater (where they transform the entire room!), we have enjoyed every experience weve had at Venice Theater. Weve also enjoyed the classes our family have taken there, for both adults, and for children. Mr. Preston, Ms. Sandy and Mr. Gary have been wonderful intructors!! If you have a nudge to perform with a local theater, our experience in that (as newbies) was wonderful as well. Love this theater and the staff!

Hit or miss. Definitely worth taking a chance though. Fun night out.

Small town theatre, workers are all volunteers. That is the price to pay for a live performance. Get your picture taken with the cast and enjoy a glass of wine before or during... whats not to like? You are ten feet from the actors, try it, but let me get my tickets first.

Great community theatre to perform and view a wide variety of performances. Professional shows and workshop classes in winter and Cabaret shows in summer make this a year round hub of entertainment.

Just saw South Pacific, it is a beautiful production period music and acting is superb.

Drove down from Tampa for a weekend stay, Peter Pan was playing. Got tickets online and had the tickets waiting for pick-up, no problems. Friendly staff and a very good show. Will bring the kids along next time. Not a very long drive from the Brandon area, about an hour I believe.

Ok. Been to a lot of regional and local theaters- would call this one below average but still decent.Saw Dream Girls. Wasn’t bad but wouldn’t recommend it.

Just saw Toxic Avenger...what an amazing production with performances worthy of a definate 5 star rating. If it wasnt sold out Id say go get a ticket as soon as possible.

Well-tuned community theater frequently hiring guest professional actors as well as local and regional people. Many volunteers and community programs with a comfortable, intimate main theater and a smaller, more avant-garde venue in the same building.
