For the last almost two years Ive been coming to Vault 31 and have never been short of amazed. The owner is dedicated to improving his business and his management staff treat the business as if it were their own. This place is inclusive and welcoming despite the natural elitism that comes with the culture.Youll be able to connect with old friends here as well as make new ones. They are adapting to pandemic protocol as much as any business can and keep an eye on their information before you assume they are open.
Best bar in Vancouver! Customer service is great, the video games are amazing, and theyve got some good food. Definitely recommend the peanut butter, honey, and bacon sandwich!
Took my husband for his birthday, service was great & the food was great! 100% reccomend for a fun night out.
Nice works but I know she didnt make my drink a double shot js.. I know how strong my drinks are supposed to be. 1 cider and a double shot crown royal apple with cranberry costed 18.50.... idk its like casino cost...
One step in the right direction back to arcade aesthetic! It’s heartening that we still have some good people running biz for the right reasons, Someday I am hoping to be one of them and open another vault as a sanctuary for all those seeking shelter from the wasteland that is our broken social contract.
Cleanest place Ive been since places were allowed to open back up. They are sticklers about it, its very comforting. If youre worried about going out, try here.
Amazing people and a fantastic decorations. The prices are about what you expect at a bar but the people and atmosphere make it more than worth it. Even during the covid crisis.
Atmosphere was pretty chill, staff was awesome. Just wish the AC worked. It was so hot in there.
Pros: Relaxed vibe with lots of options for entertaining groups of people, vegan meal option, reasonably priced food and drinksCons: Out of the way, dark ambience, not much food selection in generalWent during non-peak hours. Very relaxed gamer hub, has a plethora of board and card games for patrons to play, and around 6 TVs for patrons to play video games on. The video game selection is wide, though I expect difficult to get a monitor when this place is busy.Drinks were around $5.50 for a pint, $8-$10 for signature cocktails. I had a warp pipe and my friend had a long island style drink, both intense but enjoyable. I did not try the food, but they had artisnal pizzas, hot dogs (including a vegan option), and a few fried appetizers.
Me and my friends were denied after waiting outside for seats because one of us 4 had a vertical ID. The bar tender stated that there was a new law under covid-19 about it I looked it up and there is no such law. However I have a MAST permit myself and I know that his ID is valid if she would have taken the time to read it. But I also know that bars have a right to deny any type of ID based on their own policies. I ended up wasting $24 to get everyone there via uber then wait outside for seats open up to get turned away.
Awesome place with free games and great service! Food and drinks are on the higher side. Be ready to pay $10 for one drink!
Pretty cool hangout for patrons who love all things gaming. Even for someone like myself who doesnt, I found it comforting and would have a great time hanging out, having a drink, and watching others challenge each other.Had one of the pizzas on their menu and it was ok, nothing fancy. My wife had one of their signature drinks, but wasnt impressed, although the prices were very affordable.I would definitely visit Vault 31 again, maybe this time on a Friday night when theres more people. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family as well
This is such an incredible place. The food, the staff, the drinks, the games. Its bomb.
Awesome place. My only complaint would be that the chicken strips were really over processed. But... they still get 5 stars for everything else. This was the most fun Ive had in a bar without being drunk. Lots of board games and video games to play. Great music.
Been here a few times now. Drinks are good, the snack mene is good, and they have plenty of screens you can use for a variety of game consoles, movies, or to stream video. They have tons of games available, and theyll even let you bring your own consoles to hook up. Definitely recommend if you like booze and games.
This place is great! The staff is friendly and the concept is fun.
I’m gonna have to come back and try some real food to see if the place is really a five star place. But, that being said, it is a fun, clean, amazing bar where you can have a ton of fun playing video games and having some good drinks! We only had a few appetizers and they were lackluster. Especially the chips and salsa, the salsa was like tomato soup, no pieces of absolutely anything in the watery mix. Chips were ok.So, I’ll update after a second visit, because we will be back!
I truly love this bar. The staff is always attentive and friendly. And the food is air-fried deliciousness; between the mini corndogs, custom pizzas, or mac n cheese balls, you will enjoy any part of the menu. And being able to ask the bar that you want to play nintendo 64 golden eye, and they hand you controllers and set you down on a leather sofa; its the ultimate nostalgic comfort.
What a fun venue. They were having a special event, but the staff pumped out their themed drinks and delicious menu quickly. Such a good night spot for people whip dont like the standard after goes spot.
Great place to hangout and play games. Good food too. Ive gone a few times before and will continue to go! Signature cocktails are a bit pricey for what you get but theyre themed and fun so try them out! All around a great place to drink, eat, and play games with friends or even people you just met.
This place is amazing! Lots of nerd memorabilia, lots of games to play (both of the video and board variety), and signature cocktails inspired by- you guessed it- video games. This place is usually pretty busy but not so bad you cant get a drink or food order in. Rotating tap of local brews, too. I recommend going with a group so you can fully enjoy what they have to offer, but if you just wanna go in for a drink after work and watch a GDQ stream, well, they gotcha covered, too!
I love this place. Favorite bar Ive ever been to. Games are fun, drinks are delicious and food is . The staff are also so friendly & helpful. Seriously stop reading and go on and give them a try!
Great atmosphere, great prices, great staff. Bring your nerd friends and nerd out. Use your own stuff or raid the Vaults stash of in house board games or console games. Theyre even tabletop friendly for TTRPGs or TCGs. My friends and I have played D&D many times here, and will be back many more.
Although the food is mostly comfort food, its all health conscious. No deep fried stuff or added fats or sugars. Great beer menu and house drinks are delicious and unique. Insane selection of videogames and comfortable setting to play from bar to tables to couches and chairs with recliners! Staff always make you feel welcome, even when theyre smashed with guests. I love the mellow ambience and come here a lot by myslef just to relax with a drink or two.
Cool place & awesome hangout spot. The drinks are creative and the menu invites you to try them all. Everyone who works there is super friendly and easy to get along with. They have so many games for so many consoles there shouldnt be an issue finding something to play. If I had to rate todays menu choice I would say that the wasteland chicken strips could be reduced in quantity and substituted by some french fries, it sounds weird to ask for less chicken but some french fries would bring the whole thing together amazingly. Ill be back again.
This place is awesome! Loved the atmosphere and staff. We had a blast playing video games and having drinks with friends. You gotta see it and experience it! Very innovative place to wat and enjoy cocktails!
Great place love going here so much fun every time. The drinks are really good and no to expensive also super creative. I recommend this place to family and friends.
Their drinks are delicious! They have some really clever drinks and you can play video games from any console, for free. So swing by, have a drink and play a couple rounds of Goldeneye!
Firstly, when you walk in, youll notice that its a large place with plenty of room to have a group of people. There are several televisions all around the place, including those in front of couches, where you can play a variety of games. They have game systems ranging from the classic NES to PlayStation 4.They have game-themed drinks and appetizers and they are very reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and helpful. All in all, this was a great first-time experience to a bar like this. Like the sign says outside the door Are you lonely? We have beer and games. Come on in.
Really fun and relaxed. Bartender is really quick, helpful, and does a good pour. Great food and over 2500 available games to play.
Management is very rude and customer service is poor.
Best... Nerd.... Bar.... Ever! Board Games, Video Games, and great conversation. This is THE place to see in Vancouver!
Perfect blend of game lore and good libations!
Awesome concept. Love being able to play any game on any screen, great theme throughout and drink/ menu item names to go along. Drinks are good bartenders are good. Some hits and some misses on the menu... chicken stips are tender and juicy And can feed 2. Pizza was a let down but I heard they are still working on the kitchen and menu. Last visit it was so busy there werent any open screens and a seat was a little hard to find. If you want to come hang with friends and play some video games it may be a good idea to come a little early on a weekend..
For the drinker, quick, proment friendly service. For the gamer. Nostalgia Meets adult hood. A must for a local
Bar tenders are awesome, atmosphere is great, and the whole idea of the bar is perfectly executed! Love this place :)
One of a kind gaming and nerd culture themed bar! Mixed drinks were hilariously named and tasted great (health and mana potions were 2 that I recall). The quesadilla and corndogs were delicious (loved that the quesadilla has jalapenos in it and was spicy). They have hilarious nerd references and tributes everywhere. Tons of trivia nights. Board games and game consoles available for play. I saw egames streaming on one screen. A friendly staff. My only critique was that the bathrooms were themed but could have been even more! But they are brand new and I bet more will come. Maybe they could have a local artist paint a fan art mural or something! I also didnt LOVE the location but again they are brand new. I recommend going here! Follow them on Instagram to see what they have going on.
Gaming themed bar without being gimmicky. Staff is phenomenal, the atmosphere is relaxed and bar is large enough to keep even a full house comfortable.
The owner and all the staff are absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is super relaxed, making it all the more enjoyable. The drinks and food have all been superb, the game selections are fun and you have a wide variety of games to choose from
Sorry about that guys I click to fast Im changing to all 5 stars 1 star was a mistake.
Appears to still be in early access, but theres a lot to like here. The decor is charming with lots of Easter eggs to find. Staff is friendly and helpful, although the line at the bar can get a little long between matches. Air-fried apps keep the controllers from getting greasy, but some may not taste the way youd expect.
Very fun and chill place. Will definitely be coming back regularly. Food is very tasty and presented well. And drinks are fun and well priced. Highly recommend
I was told there would be Galaga. The bartender (owner) thought about it for a while and announced that she could probably make that happen. Alas, that game is just not the same without a standing, old school arcade machine. Its ok. They have plenty of interesting beers, a comfy atmosphere, and pretty much any console video game youd like. Especially the Nintendo Pantheon. Which I regard as modern, pre-pube pish. Fighting words, I know. Anyway. Imagine renting a pool table, except its a comfy couch and console games. Rick and Morty is an admirable alternative to tedious cable channels. You might encounter a group of millennials playing Cards Against Humanity, and those folks might be perfectly aware of the 3scape from w0ken3ss that game provides: You know you cant say that in public, right? Were not saying it, the cards are! Perfect.
This cute little bar is a nerd haven. Video game themed drinks and delicious pizza.
I love this place! One of the first things I noticed was the music wasnt super loud, which I liked. I could have a conversation without screaming to the person next to me. There are six TVs where you can play video games or watch a roller derby bout or Twitch stream. I know Vault 31 will do well and Im excited to see it thrive!
Love this place. Friendly staff. Delicious drinks. And all the games your heart could desire!
Great atmosphere and a super great bartender. Friendly, amazing drinks, cool decorations -- a must go for gamers, nerds, and fans!
This place is Amazing! A gamers (console or board!) paradise. The owner and his staff are fabulous, attentive, knowledgeable, friendly..... and did I say AMAZING?
I really enjoy the laid back atmosphere. Every time Ive been the staff has been awesome.
Unique cocktails, awesome bites, and games galore! A vault dwellers paradies!
Never been to a nerd/gamer bar, was great, get in early as it gets crowded after 8
Atmosphere was amazing, food and drinks were awesome!! A gamer pub done really well!!
Great gamer atmosphere! I don’t drink, and I still had a relaxing night drinking non-ETOH Nuka Cola, playing retro games, and filling up on the pizza & snacks. I’ll definitely be back with my friends and our favorite board game.
Was my first time going to any esports bar and it was amazing i loved everything about the place. I am an huge fallout fan and found them threw a fallout page i follow on facebook so i am thankful that i saw the post and was able to come and experience it myself. I got some great pictures but sadly can not post them.
Great environment. The unfortunate part is youHave only 1 place to order. During busy hours the line can reach the door. Great environment and people. Just can be cumbersome to order a drink or food.
David and his staff are absolutely wonderful. The drinks and food are great and this bar atmosphere is fantastic. As a 90s kid, there are no real bars catered to me in the region until now. This e-sports/gaming bar is a breath of fresh air from the stench of old men and dive bars that surround the Vancouver area. Its a place where the kids of yesteryear can go to feel Nintendo filled nostalgia. Even though the bar has been open for only a month or so, the bar is packed with anticipation of growth to see just how far it can go. This is definitely my new go to bar as it is new schedule school compared to old time Rock and roll.
If you’re into video games and similar memorabilia, you have to check out this bar in Vancouver. There’s so much interesting stuff here, you’ve just gotta check it out for yourself. And try the PB&J pizza with bacon! Great mixed drinks, too, that fit the theme.Open late (unlike so many businesses in the area), with a diversity of table, bench and bar seating.Loses a star for staff members smoking too close to the entrance. Patrons sometimes do, too, so if you’ve got a nicotine allergy or other cigarette-smoke sensitivity, be forewarned.
As a life-long gamer and anxious introvert, I was skeptical--but, fear not! Good people, good food, GREAT tap selection.
I cant reccomend this place more. It is a gamers heaven! The drinks are creative and dangerously good, the food is delicious, and pricing is better than most bars I go to. Plus- games! Large TVs and so many consoles and games to chose from- free to play! I love relaxing on one of their comfy couches with a drink playing mario party with my friends!Definitely my favorite spot in Vancouver!
Awkward staff, cheap food and the drinks you probably expect!
Really enjoyed my time here. A whiff variety of special cocktails which is always fun. I recommend the Nuka Cola, mostly just a rum and coke with some other stuff drizzled in but it was really good. The atmosphere is awesome, video game and other nerd decorations really makes me feel at home.We played super smash Bros ultimate while we sipped our drinks but its not just new titles, classic video games and board games are also here as well so theres a little something for everyone. Finally, the bartender (the owner I believe) was very nice and gave a very appreciative vibe that we came to hang out at his bar. All in all, highly recommend coming here. They are trying to set up a rock band/karaoke night so you may see me there more often!
This place was amazing! I have never been into going to bars but I will definitely be going back. The prices were really good, and the food and drinks were amazing.
This is an amazing bar with original touches! It’s not your typical bar in Vancouver. They genuinely put an effort in to make sure their patrons are happy and enjoying themselves. They have a menu for drinks and food as well as all the games that are available to play, and even if you don’t like to play video games there is opportunities to watch them! In addition every other week they have trivia night which they put together themselves and although it is difficult it is a good challenging experience and fun at the same time! They take great care of their equipment and wipe down every controller after use so it feels very clean and hygienic. The mac and cheese bites are by far the best items I’ve had at a bar in a long time and the DK punch is another favorite id be happy to come back to. The prices are also very affordable and well worth the quality of what you’re receiving. I look forward to coming to many more trivia nights on Wednesday’s!
Kate and Dave are golden human beings and you cannot convince me they are not.
Fantastic drinks and awesome atmosphere. They offer more than just the typical bar experience. They offer a unique entertainment experience with TVs for playing games and streams of E-Sports competitions. Highly recommend.
Fantastic service and atmosphere, food and drinks are outstanding, cant recomend enough!!!
Awesome place, had so much fun during their gaming night. Highly recommended.
Great place to hang out, awesome decor, good tasting pizza and wings. The beverages were tasty and, if you like bloody Maries, I highly recommend the Fatality drink.Other than that the pricing is a bit high, imo. A combination of an alcoholic beverage and a good item can run you between 14.00 at the low end or 22.00ish at the high end.Staff was awesome and friendly!
Super chill hang out spot. Dig the vibe. Pizza was awesome, drinks were fun. Would definitely return.
We went to the soft opening a week back and the grand opening on 3/31/2019 and had a great time! There are retro game consoles wired into a switching AV unit so you can play any system on any TV, as well as the huge projector screen that can be dropped down for your group. We played Smash Ultimate with 6 people on the projector! Pizza and cocktails tasty and affordable, beers are super-reasonable and theyve got your beerwater at even better prices. Try the PB&J Pizza to cure your munchies - trust me!
Vault 31 bar is amazing. We had the meat lovers Pizza, its one of the best pizza that Ive had in a long time. The drink that I had will now be my go to drink. I will be going up very soon to try the Kobe beef dogs. Thank you Vault 31
Super cool place. Great food and fun!
Great place to hang out, grab a brew, & play some games.
Love this place! Great variety of drinks, fun variety of games, and a great place to hang with friends
Great place to have a few beverages and play games!
Met the owner and his lovelly girlfriend, theyte amazing people and I cant wait to visit this amazing establishment. A lot of love and hard work was put in this project and the result is quite epic! Godbless you guys
The atmosphere is amazing, the drinks and food are delicious. Its a fun bar to play some of the games and consoles of the past 30 years.
Weve been there several times now and intend to keep going. Pretty chill and relaxing place.
It wasnt what I expected the bar was good and my drink was made perfectly so good and the server that brought my pizza over was like here you go like no smile or customer service like oh you need plates and my friend went to the bar to ask for some plates and stuff she had the girl had red hair I did feel like the customer services with her wasnt their not pleasant vibe from her and atmosphere was like not good also the server girl with red hair didnt ask was their anything else we needed not polit seem mad so maybe she not the right person for this position or something I dont know I maybe give another try again another time
Good drinks, friendly staff and amazing selection of free gaming. Old and new games.
Hangout drink beer and play video games. Cant go wrong. Good time. Closes at 1 last call 12:30?
