SAFE, clean, family friendly. Bathrooms, benches, large grass areas. Dog friendly great to walk around grab a coffee. Kids will be happy you too. Enjoy
Not really sure where all these family friendly reviews are coming from???I stayed across the street at the Hilton - went out walking around, looking for food and something to do. I found this park to be well kept up - but the number of homeless and what looked to be more than a few drug-addicts, were just EVERYWHERE. I certainly wouldnt go back.
Great place to take children. Play on the playground, plenty space to run around and theres a cool water play area. Saturday and Sunday if you want something to do take a stroll through the Vancouver Farmers Market located directly next to the park, then kids can play at the park afterwards.
Theres so much going on around that spot. Its easy to stay entertained
Beautiful park, located in downtown Vancouver. Whenever I bring my son here, he has a good time. There always seems to be something going on. I wish that the playground had more equipment, due to the massive amount of children that come to play there. Maybe some more swings sets would be a good idea. All in all, it is a pretty impressive park. I would definitely recommend this park to my family and friends.
One of my favorites. My dogs and I walk there a lot
A very nice park. It is extra special on Farmers Market days.
This is areally nice park with s good playground for young kids and lots of big beatiful trees. There seem to always be some homeless, though.
Wonderfully park, middle of downtown and close to stores and food. Good playground. Good gathering place.
Nice open area, plenty of seating. A welcome green space in the middle of down town.
Super clean park and a great place to have outdoor meetings. I go there 4 days a week every week and just love it.
Great local spot to bring the family. The Farmers market on the weekend is fun too!
5 stars for the Farmers Market! It’s grown over the years and is great as far as the variety of vendors goes. The park itself is great too with a playground on the west side and a water feature on the east side. The homeless population can be a bit much during mid-day but they seem to be friendly and I’ve never had issues when I was at the park. It’s a great park surrounded by good food options.
The farmers market on Saturday is great. The park and playground are nice and well maintained.
Lots of multicultural history of Vancouver in and Washington clean public restroom and kids playground.
The park itself is great but unfortunately there were a handful of homeless people all around the entire park. We walked around the entire park and multiple homeless people made an effort to talk to my children which is uneasy feeling. There were plenty of kids and parents playing and being happy which I was able to enjoy!
One of her favorite places to go. She likes hearing the clock bells go off!
Saturday Farmers Market is open until 3pm, which is good for me, there were a lot of great stalls with good variety and v good quality.
Its decent. Homeless congregate in a couple areas. Excellent area for skateboarding.
Saturday Market rain or shine is a good time to get out and about.
Beautiful today. The breeze was pleasant and nonstop. Perfect on a warm summer day.
The patriot rally there on Sunday was wonderful and peaceful!
Great Saturday market... stage in the center for the occasional performance... historical home on site... great shops and coffee nearby
The park is clean. Playground state of the art. But it now has too many meth users and homeless at the place. Most are aggressive and with hassle you all the time.
Hasn’t hardly changed since I was very young. Don’t mess with success!
Great atmosphere well maintained and good location.
Looks like a great place but theres usually some weirdo lurking around, staring at people.
Great place to take the kids and play
We have the Vancouver farmers market here. I found asian fruits and vegetables during normal time.
A beautiful park, as long the drug addicts dont bother you. Also a peaceful place to share time with your animals.
I like going to the farmers market on the weekends when it’s open. I let my daughter play on the playground, the homeless aren’t as prevalent when farmers market is going on.
Hot play ground with no cover to protect from the heat if playing although nice pleaces around to sit and have a lunch
Nice little park and nice small market
Well maintained park in Vancouver downtown. Only issue is with some homeless people late in the evening. But its ok they dont bother anyone.
Great market cant wait to go back
BEAUTIFUL & a Nice Clock & Fish statues
Nice park-open grassy area, water feature, historic monuments, great park structure for the kids, public restroom and 2 gazebos. Rated 3 stars because its on the airplain flight path, next to the rail road and had quite a few Transiants hanging around.
Beautiful area. Clean playground
I love the Farmers market and the vegetarian corn dogs are to die for!!!
Nice clean park, we walked thru on way to farmers market
Patriot Prayer Rally was wonderful! RIP J
Its a nice park, plenty of distractions in a smaller space than most Portland area parks, its your classic downtown upscale with homeless people scenario, only 1 of 20 homeless seemed slightly disturbing, Im from the Los Angeles area so my levels might be considered higher than most as far as what someone who was slightly threatening would be, but I digress. There was a cool water feature but I guess you cant have flowing water during the covid years..... Oh damn, its gonna be years prolly, fuuuuuuuuuu
Went there around 1 p.m. some people laughing, large groups of people, someone doing yoga and a gentle breeze through the trees plenty of shaded or sunny areas the kids seem to have a lot of fun. It was clean as well
Nice park, lots of space.
The annual art festival at the park was amazing.
Nice park downtown. Alot of homeless around the bathrooms.
Very nice venue ... the Hawaiian festival was exceptional ... dont miss it next year
The park stays clean and hosts a great farmers market
Nice relaxing place to go stroll the farmers market on the weekends.
We walked through here for the farmers market. Nice park where there was even a small beer festival going on.
I love how big this park is. Then there is the giant play structure that allows at least 20 hyper little people to run around like chickens with their heads cut off, and not constantly bump into each other. There is also some really cool art here as well.Yes, there are homeless people hanging around, but it is a park in a metro area. It comes with the territory. Ive found the homeless people anywhere that people are afraid of, tend to have mental illnesses.
Situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver there is an abundance of amenities to choose from on a daily basis. It did feel boxed in for quite sometime however since the still ongoing development of the vancouver waterfront areas just a short walk away, makes this entire area a joy that can be accessed at your own convenience 24/7. Enjoy. Beware of stragglers at times, always willing to accept a hand up or a simple repurpose thrill should you be entirely supportive of our communities please. God bless us all.
Great park.....good for kids and adults
Great place for families during events.
Awesome time there with the Craft Beer & Wine Fest & music too boot!
The farmers market was great!
Usually a very busy place, but during our drive in this devastating time, there was only a sprinkling of people out enjoying this beautiful park. Be safe Vancouver!
Just a mile or 2 from home. Farmers market with artists wares, coffee hut, prepared foods, and live music on weekends from March to October. And, of course, Farmers goods. Just a block from downtown shops and eateries if you prefer eating indoors.
A beautiful public park in the heart of downtown Vancouver. In the summer, theres a mock stream for people to cool off, the clock tower gives an automated history lesson & theres a farmers market held nearby on weekends. I attended the taco fest here last weekend & had a wonderful time.
So much fun on a hot day to let thr kiddos splash around!
Saturday Market is nice, park is relaxing
My son and I went this past summer for a community food festival. It was a little small but definitely had a great community feeling. Great experience...
Peaceful and well shaded place to sit and relax.
Great farmers market. Amazi g products and vendors.
Beautiful place nice to see improvements.
A peaceful place to relax after a morning of travel. Great place to watch aircraft landing at Portland International Airport, they pass right overhead.
Been intriguing to watch this place change over the years. Now a wonderful place to spend an afternoon instead of the scary spot it used to be.
A very nice Saturday Farmers Market
I love this gem of a park in the heart of Vancouver. A gel rear place to attend events, walk, or maybe picnic with the family. Very close to retail and restaurants.
Great park and an amazing farmers market!! The farmers market is done for the year, but Im anticipating its return in the spring. This is such a wonderful, beautiful market. I just love it.
Fun little playground downtown Vancouver for the kiddos to have fun
I love going here. The park is great. Its nice. Theres a fountain, a playground, paths to walk, a historic house and a rose garden. There are events all the time here. The homeless people are an issue though, and I wouldnt be around after dark. Also, the bathrooms are scary.
Its a good scenic and historic point to start or stop a journey through/or maybe just touring our ideal, and quaint city, with truly...small town, everyone here is family, mentality and charm.come join us, we love you.
Just one of the best areas I know of downtown!! Every Saturday there is an incredible market with all sorts of goodies, in a variety, where you can actually get great items instead of touristy things. There are storefronts surrounding the entire park, with anything youd want. The giant clock tower does some pretty crazy stuff, and is really just beautiful. There is a wonderful water feature there, where kids and birds alike have the time of their life. A beautiful gazebo, plenty of seating, a great walking trail around the park, and lots of security.
Sad, the park has gone back to the bad days. Lots of homeless hanging out, a few families. Not as clean and pretty as it used to be...prior to 2017.
Enjoyed the Sunday market that had food booths, plants for sale, art for sale, fresh vegetables and live music. Beautiful Sunday morning. We had chicken fried chicken with a wonderful sausage gravy and Flaky buns, also a nice gyro sandwich. We also bought some nice stakes our garden.
Great, quiet park!
It used to be a beautiful park until people started not picking up their trash.
This is the first time I have visited this park since it was completed many years ago. They have done a wonderful job with the water features and play areas for the younger kids. However sometimes you must still walk around some of the homeless that tend to take up different spots in the park.
We visited during the Hawaii festival. The shady park and excellent band stand for entertainment makes this a great place to visit. During the festival, there were many food and craft vendors offering a variety of stuff. And, the farmers market is right there, too.Great spot and a gem of a place in downtown Vancouver.
Clean. Lots of shaded seating
Ester short is a nice park, it’s got a playground and it’s pretty. It also has a stage where they do free performances occasionally. But it is unfortunately crawling with homeless people. Some of which seem on substances or are angry.
A sweet park in downtown Vancouver. Beautiful landscaping. It has a Starbucks across from it. When Im in Vancouver I usually go there then walk toward the river past a war memorial park.Just to note there are homeless though.
Beautiful park great area
Love the various events they have here. As well as their famers market in the summer. Lots of great areas for kids to play in. We come often even for living in Portland. Great places around it as well.
Went to the Saturday Market on Sunday morning. Enjoyed all the flower stands and all the vendors. Great place to bring a friendly dog.I always get the roasted Hazelnuts and get Hummus too! I enjoy buying local.Glad to see the Market expanding, now theyve blocked off the main road there are even more vendor spaces available.
Many things to do and the weekend market is a place you can always find something unique
So much fun! Symphony in the Park on summer Wednesdays at lunchtime. Even in the rain, it was a joy to be outside listening to the music. Food carts available and some interesting stalls with handicrafts. Stop by the Sithean Acres honey stall. Delicious!
Overall its a nice park right in the middle of downtown Vancouver. There are often events happening and its also right next to the farmers market which makes it fairly busy over the weekend during holidays. You can also easily walk from there to the Vancouver Waterfront area.
Vancouvers Farmers Market!! Wonderful place to buy local fruit, vegetables, baked goods and so many other delicious foods, in addition to flowers, arts and crafts!! While seasonal, always a great time to visit when it is open.
A jewel in the middle of downtown Vancouver, Esther Short Park is the gathering place for all of us. Always clean, it is the center of most activities in the City of Vancouver.
Great place to just walk around and play at for kids. Good for Pokemon Go as well.
They have a great Farms Market on Saturday!
Great little gem of a downtown park. Many features for kids and adults, tons of special events all yr long. Bathrooms are only reason I give 4 stars, not 5. Farmers market on weekends.
Love their farmers market here. Great local options with tons of produce and homemade goods. Also got nice live music and a friendly ambiance, I felt safe and relaxed here!
