As always, the best assortment of equipment...kind of lonely account Covid...will be good to watch as all of their wonderful mix of people and ages return.

My family have been a member of lake shore for several years. Several of our friends have left the club due to the cost, employees and management. We are not far behind them. I joined Lake Shore because it was to be a family club. Which it is not. My kids love to play volleyball. They are kicked out every Monday night at 8 pm. We are told thats adult time. My are not the only kids. The staff is very rude. From Managers right down to the employees. They dont tell you the truth and when you call them on it their attitude is, If you dont like it cancel your membership and go else where. Well, my answer is.. OK I will. Im in search of a new Athletic Club to join that is family friendly.I can go on but looking at some of the other reviews, I really dont need to.
I love Lakeshore and the staff are great. They act like they are waiting just for you and go out if their way to answer questions (exception for Sunday’s). Mostly I love their equipment and the circuits they have set up to help with upper body, core, & lower body strength. I have been to all other gyms in Vancouver area and none are set up so I can go in, exercise & get out with ease and less time. I drove about 34 total miles every other day for several years just to go to this gym, but they are so popular that there is no longer any parking available...even their extended parking and street parking is full. I have tried many different times of the day & it still does not work for me. I can go on Sundays, but need to go to a gym more than once a week. I really miss this fitness center.
Lake Shore has kinda gone downhill for me. It is in serious need of repairs & updates. Plus the owner still wants us to mail a check every month not debt accounts. Only saving Grace seems to be the great staff and outdoor pool. But the outdoor pool is only good for a couple months. Not to mention the swim schedule is weird. But Its still a great family gym. I also enjoy thier support for our elderly community.
Really enjoyed my quest pass would recommend to others. Pool cleanIndoor and outdoor. Changing rooms beautiful privacy for all. Clean and a swimsuit spin dry wonderful dry sauna. Hot tub just right until i was told by a young girl about all the dead skin floating she could see in the water. Glad for a shower. Truely great experience. Shy of Jacuzzi water.
My only complaint is the hours of operation, and the fact we have to mail on our payment. I wish it was open later, and they would debit my account.
Nice facility. Not a meat market. Enjoyable for the more mature clientele. Every type of exercise and sport to keep you moving.
Tiffany runs a great cardio/strength class! I come out of the class happily tired and eager for the next class.Overall, this club is welcoming to the older adults looking to stay active. Definitely worth the dues if you have to pay, but many insurances pay after age 65. Lots of exercise classes as well as the weight room, indoor track and swimming pools (indoor and outdoor).
I like it. Needs remodeling, some workers are annoying, a few lifeguards kicked me out of the pool 15 minutes early, and it should be open to everyone all the time. Other than that, its a pretty good athletic club.
Great classes great womans locker room fun friendly people
Older equipment but gets the job done, pool is nice (27 yards) not that busy usually especially during lane swim. Bathrooms are kept clean. Hot tub and sauna room.
We take our kids here for swimming lessons. The prices here are very reasonable. Kids get two lessons a week which most places only give one. The pool is salt water which is definitely better than chlorine. If you live in the area and dont use this club, then you are missing out.
If you have a family over 4 they have fantastic deals for you. Its still a good price for individuals. Its like an all inclusive club...seriously. love it.
Lake Shore Athletic Club is a family and community centered gym. It is not as trendy and flashy as other places, nor do people come here to be seen. We come to work out, swim, play basketball, take classes and so much more. The facility is well maintained, has a wide variety of programs and services, and caters to all ages. Yes, there are blue hairs here. Just as there are families and gym rats. The staff is wonderful. Childcare is available. And theres no obnoxious music in the background. The outdoor pool is gorgeous for summer fun as well. This place is truly a haven for exercise and relaxation.
Great location, friendly staff and good equipment for us to use.
Nice staff great place to excercise and water arobetics..and a hot tub and sauna.
So, Im in my late stages of my invisalign treatment, (only 5 days left, to be exact) and I went swimming with my boyfriend to enjoy the hot summer day. We got out of the pool and hit up the snack bar, (10/10 would recommend the food) and we were relaxing by the poolside. I forgot to bring the case for my invisalign to the pool with me, so I wrapped them in a napkin and ate my burger and drank my frozen lemonade. Then, in a moment of outright idiocy, I threw away my retainers without realizing it. We had left the gym, and gone home, and only then I realized my mistake. We called the club, and they were very understanding. We drove out there as fast as we could, and the manager was so kind and helped my boyfriend and I dig through the trash to find them. He was super excited when we found them, and I dont think Ive had a better customer service experience than a manager (who was on lunch break) go digging through the trash with us to find my retainers. Love this place even more now, I would highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone, their customer service is outstanding and everyone is so down to earth and kind. Thank you LSAC!
My family loves Lake shore Athletic Club. There are lots of options for family activities as well as workout options. The facility is great. Lots of equipment, great swimming pools (Salt water), and much more. The staff are friendly and work hard to get to know the regulars. My 3 year old daughter loves the supervised play area and all the events that Lake Shore puts together. The gym just has a family vibe. Because of that we would have a hard time going anywhere else.
Wonderful fitness club for the neighborhood. Great group classes, lots of equipment choices. Very laid back, easy-going atmosphere.
Gym equipment was refreshed recently, the free lifting weights are a little old though. The two basketball courts were recently redone, which is great and the locker rooms were renovated. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are in fairly good shape. The staff is pretty nice although only some of them are chill enough to let you take a friend in for free. The only reason why its 4 stars is that its way more expensive than the LA fitness located nearby that has similar features. Oh and this place also has racquetball and a golf range, as well as tennis
Nice neighborhood athletic club, lots of workout machines. Some I have never seen anywhere else. I really liked the circuit fitness machines, easy to use and you can do all the major muscle groups in 20 minutes. The facility is a bit old and could use some updating, but overall a very nice place.
I have to change my review from 5 stars down to 1 star due to the night manager. There was three triplets running around unsupervised they looked 8 years old. One of them picked up a rubber ball and through it at the back of my four year olds head. My four year old was about two feet away standing in the hall way with his back to the kid. I told the kid that was not nice and he started talking back.I just walked away told the front desk and figured they would handle it.The night manager (Jerry?). Was dismissive, rude and condacending.
Been going for years. Only has improved.
They redid the womens locker room in VERY elegant but minimalist taste. You feel like a queen in the room, its that nice. Love the outdoor and indoor saltwater pools. Love the group exercise classes as well. Very classy taste with classy people. Leave your attitude at the door before you walk in, and suck in the ambiance!
Best Family Athletic club in Clark County!
Our family has been members of Lakeshore for over a decade. There is year around family swimming - outdoor swimming in summer. The club has everything to offer for all ages and fitness goals. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The fitness areas and bathrooms are always clean and well stocked.
I like the place, but only like one swim class instructor. Like the private showers and dressing rooms. Staff is very friendly.
A lot of different options are available here. The locker/shower rooms are a little small and not easy to navigate if you have a few kids with you. The observation area for swim lessons gets pretty hot, so come prepared to sweat.
If this review were based on staff, community, or the good feels you get from this place solely, it would get 6/5 stars. As it stands, as far as the actual facility goes I want to give it 3/5 stars. The staff are fantastic, caring, intelligent people who I like very much. They are just the very best part about this place. The people who go to this gym are great. Real nice, down-to-earth people who are friendly and smile while wishing you a good day - and they mean it.Ive gone to this gym on and off since I was 5 years old ...over 25 years. During that time the roof has sprung multiple leaks and none of them have been fixed. Sure, they have been patched and fussed over - no fixes. The roof is a point of serious issue. Many times per year a serious leak will pop up and close down small portions of this facility.Today (mid summer) a light fixture that was anchored into a spot on the ceiling that had an obvious water damage fell onto a machine in the dead center of the workout room. The staff did an admirable job of keeping patrons safe and working hard to fix the issue. My point is this. The owner of this place doesnt care about this facility. They accept medicare/social security patrons of some variety and therefore are not concerned about staying competitive with other local gyms. The cost of membership is quite high considering how often the building tends to fall apart.I really love this gym and will continue to be a member as long as I can. I just hope that they owner decides to do something serious about the long-term safety of the members here.
Good equipment, everything you need, and more. Friendly, but older crowd. They target the retired demographic. I wish they were open later. Rates are a high compared to other clubs in the area. I had to leave due to yearly rate hikes and no improvement on the club.
Ive been swimming in the indoor saltwater pool at Lake Shore for a little over 2 years. I love the pool. Lap lane swimming is sometimes crowded, sometimes not. I dont like that the calendar changes so frequently-it makes it very hard to swim on a routine. Womens locker room is okay, and the therapy pool very nice. Ive done a little work from time to time in the conditioning room and it works well for me, although I dont have experience elsewhere to make any comparison. Staff seem nice and helpful. Never met a snotty one there.
Lots of amenities. Wish they were open longer. Been a member for over 30 years
I am a current member (02/03/2017) and have been a member for a year. The gym participates in a Silver program which floods the gym with elderly. The free weight section of the gym is great, the treadmills are good (most of them), & the weight machines are mostly outdated. The ceiling is failing due to water leaks, the facility could use a fresh coat of paint. My family joined because the gym offers family workout times and has a great indoor and fabulous outdoor pool with slide. If the owners would put some money into the facility I would rate it better.
Offers great all around activities with access to a pool which has two different pools, one for Kids, which has a wading pool, and one for older kids, which is equipped with a diving board, basketball hoop, and waterslide. There are on site in vending machines and in the cafeteria.
Lake Shore has 3 tennis courts. They are in very bad condition. Cracks in the surface areas big enough to break your ankle. All of the tennis nets are in need of repair (they are almost sagging down to the ground). Each year the tennis courts get in worse shape. The owners show no interest in repairing the problems. Dont join this club if you like to play tennis, you will be very disapointed and frustrated. These are by far, the worst courts in the Vancouver and Portland area.
Not sunny but JoyceSeelhorst!
Front desk staff is alright.Childcare group is great.Customer services, or should I say no customer services ranks somewhere between Walmart and Winco Foods, way below level of Goodwill. This is not just based one interaction, but numeral over the course of one year. There is not even proper telephone etiquette from that woman who claimed to be customer service agent.Lots of things to do in one place, which is convenient, true.I paid so my kids would use the pool once a week. Not recommended unless you are desperate for a pool.
I enjoy the classes and find the facility clean and inviting. The staff is friendly and helpful and I am greeted with a smile every time I go..The pools are wonderful. The outdoor pool is newly painted and I love the deck chairs that are available.
I have had my kids doing swimming lessons here for quite some time. I like the facility, but i will say the locker room for children to use is really dysfunctional. Also they are not consistent with their teachers for the beginning levels of swimming. I think this should be consistent because the young kids need time to learn to trust the teacher before actually getting the swimming skills down. Most prelevel kids are sooo nervous they need the stability of knowing they can trust the teacher, which takes time. I wish they had set teachers for the younger pre levels at least. Otherwise the place is super warm and welcoming, and we have been coming for years.
Love the new ladies locker room. Wasnt too crowded for a mid day Sunday workout.
Monthly schedule for their pool, basketball, taekwondo, gym, and so on!!
Surely well rounded age group exercise classescaring and knowledgeable instructors
Called to close my account because we moved 30 minutes away. They told me I MUST come sign a form in person. I asked them to mail it to me, their response was if you dont come in to sign within 120 days well send you to collections. Now THAT is customer service.
Lots of classes and activites for seniors as well as other age groups. Always clean. Friendly personnel.
A little over priced
Best Water Aerobics....pool large enough, and water temp is usually warm...
I toured this facility when looking for a new gym. While I liked the options that it had to offer, the weight room is very cramped and much of the equipment is obviously old and rundown. Also, since I was only concerned with the weight room, the rates are unreasonably high for my needs.
Pool and Sauna was impressive and 2 courts had games and squash too lots to do
I have always had great experiences at this club and there are varied levels of classes for every level of athletes.
Lakeshore is great, the staff are nice, the pool is in great condition. Havent seen any leaks like the others are saying, the exercise room is good, and the gyms are good for basketball and other sports! LSAC is great!
They have a lot of activities offered that you can do. They have 2 swimming pools (one indoor and one outdoor), a workout area loaded with machines, several basketball courts, etc. There staff are quite knowledgeable and are willing to help you when you need it.
Really nice facility but monthly dues and imitation fees are above average
Best athletic club ever. Not pretentious, good facilities. Higher class crowd.
Great facility. Good staff. Love the H2 aerobics.
The best club! Great people and lots of exercises, pools, spas, machines, courts, etc etc
Great family gym. Great place to meet other people in the neighborhood
I love the basketball gyms like most of the staff except one swim teacher who acts like she owns the place
If I could give zero stars I would. This gym is rediculous. Such a waste of money and they cater to themselves and not their members. The gym feels dirty, their hours are inconvenient, especially the weekend. They charge extra for everything from childcare to having a guest. They do not communicate well at all with their guests. Its ran by young adults who honestly act like they are clueless. Its way too overpriced for what you get. Also The one time my kid went into the childcare he got a nasty hand foot and mouth disease. They obviously never clean anything in that place! I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Stay far away!!!!! I feel like I was constantly treated rudely.
Family friendly, everything you could ask for in an athletic club
Really need to update the facility. Older and warn out but the overall offering with two pools and excellent staff is still our best option in Vancouver.
Great place, some machines dont have full functionality.
Great amenities but I wish they would update a bit more
Overall a good family club which caters the seniors.
Great equipment, great staff, especially Collin
Awesome neighborhood athletic club for the family!
Great club, clean, lots of amenities, super nice staff
The dogs loved this day.
The customer service is horrible. We take our kids to Lakeshore for swim lessons every week. When our lesson was postponed for 45 minutes they wouldnt let the kids play in the play area because we are not members. We have been coming here for 2 years.is horrible. We tai
Great equipment, staff and value.
This is a very nice club but its private club white people only
Miss going
Overall, this place offers a lot for the price of membership. However, considering that its a lot more expensive than other clubs, it really (really) needs to be updated as it looks the same as it has since the early 1990s. It doesnt have the feel that the price point should dictate.
This is the place to be in the summer!
Country club feel without the price! The only complaint is the very short hours kept Sunday.
Friendly people and a wonderful selection of equipment.
Great place for the whole family but pricy
The tennis courts are need of a lot of repair work. Many, many problems with the tennis nets and court surfaces.
Nice and clean
Love it here.
Great facilities, kind Staff.
So many varieties of exercise from swimming to bball.
Friendly Zumba instructors
Nice community pool and fitness center
Family friendly, courteous staff, clean, up to date!
Lots of fun for kids
Great outdoor pool in the summer
Love the gym
Horrible, horrible staff. They are not helpful at all... Membership and gym trainers just sit in the gym. The gym smells like old rotten socks...
Smells bad.
