The Urbana Dog Park is wonderful! I love coming here with my dog. The facilities are wonderful. There are two parts of this park. One is a smaller, sectioned off area that is designated for smaller dogs or for dogs that need a smaller area. It includes one dog bag station and a water pump and bucket. The other part of the dog park is huge. There are large patches of tall grass for dogs to frolic through, many large, mature trees in the middle of the park to provide shade, two dog bag stations, and multiple buckets available to fill with water from the second water pump. Generally speaking, the participants of the dog park are well meaning and kind to each other. There are some dogs that don’t belong at the dog park, but that is not the fault of the dog park. Although I have never seen an official employee of the park district at the dog park, the participants do quite a good job at maintaining the facilities and each other. I recommend coming here with you dog, but beware during peak hours!

Seems like a great place to bring dogs of any size, its a big area with benches. I initially didnt like the idea of going there because its kind of far from where I live and Im not familiar with the area, but it looks pretty safe, there were lots of people and dogs the day I visited, even when it was becoming dark already

Its very close to my house and my sounds always have a good time. The kiddie pools are nice for them on hot days too.

Great community resource! Great space. Wish it was a bit better maintained and there were other tools for play or training available. Turn the water off pretty early in the season too. I love having this available though!!!

Beautiful park and the clean after your pup honor system works out ok. Most visitors were kind and welcoming.

Place looks really nice and I was willing to pay the $5 fee however, nobody is attending the door so you can’t get in unless you have a card.

Great place to bring your dog. Plenty of space to run and play, swimming pools, beautiful surroundings, tons of trees. Highly reccomend.

Its always a good time for my boyYou will get those snooty dog owners who dont want other dogs playing rough with their princess, but they are few. Mostly people who own golden retrievers.

Well maintained by the park district. Most of the dog owners are attentive and understand their dogs behavior.Go mid morning. Avoid 3pm-6pm weekdays and most of the day on weekends. Dogs at those times are less regular and there tends to be more of them.

Lots of room. Havent had issues yet with mean dogs. They have a dog wash station which is very useful! There are a few low spots that get very muddy, which sucks for me but my dog loved it.

Fantastic park. Buckets of water scattered throughout, free doggy bags placed in three different areas so you never have to rush too far to grab one when you realize you left yours in your other pants. Lots of good shaded areas and benches so whatever part of the park your dog likes theres a place for you to take a breather. Really huge area to roam; my husky doesnt like the big dog pile play times and theres enough room for her to comfortably explore on her own.

Best Dog Park encountered so far on our cross country road trip. Urbana Parks and citizens should be very proud! Great community asset and great doggy folk too. Loved the varied topography and wooded areas.

Such a beautiful park! Dog drinking fountain, people bring a kiddie pool in the summer for the dogs to play in, a hose (just outside the fence) along with an in-ground drain for hosing off muddy dogs. Great trees in the middle and great sun along the edges. I have never seen a nicer dog park!

Best dog park in the area. Open fields and shaded tree areas, as well as a smaller fenced off area separate from the main area for smaller or nervous dogs.To attend here, make sure your dog is vaccinated and plays well with others! City website has more info about requirements.

I went mid day on a weekday. It was gorgeous, a bit challenging to figure out how to pay, but then again I hadnt done my homework. Dogs ran around, interacted some. There were a couple of people who had taken dogs off into the corner. If your dog runs fast and you dont, consider a leash the first time. I also let him walk around the smaller yard first. My dog loved it.

The park is spacious and beautiful. $5 for a day/visit if youre not a member, but worth it to exercise your dog on a car trip. One of the best dog parks weve visited.

We liked it and the dogs loved it. Good watering area. Safe gated areas for arriving/ departing. 2 play areas. Smaller grassy lawn area for small animals and much larger open field and woods type area for big dogs to really run. Plenty of benches for owners and a crate full of balls,in case you forgot or lose one. Poop bags and disposal available. We will return again and again. Please pick up a ball or 2 and return to crate as you leave.

Good for dogs to enjoy without any leash.

A lot of varied space for dogs to run around. Short grass, long grass, trees, obstacles. A lot of tennis balls, too. And a few benches for the people. There is a section for large and for small dogs.

I personally dont use or take my dog to these places because of possible fleas, dogs eating poop, worms, dog fights ect.

Very small menu but that probably helps keep quality high. Food is always good and the beer selection is excellent

This is a terrific park: great shade inside of ~10 acres of fence. Tennis balls and potable water are plentiful along with poop bags and garbage cans. The mown grass areas are nicely segregated by trees and unmown prairie grass.

Nicest dog park in Champaign/Urbana

Im a frequent visitor to the park. My pup lover to run around and socialize. There is a good variety of terrain: low grass, large trees, mulch, high grass, small trees. 99% of the dogs we have encountered are very friendly. A very small number play too rough, but we just go into the separate enclosed area (usually for smaller dogs, but typically unoccupied) until that dog leaves or enough other ones come. The parking lot could use a bit of work as far as holes go, so drive slowly for the sake of your suspension. There is a hose (which is somewhat hard to operate) and water fountain turned on when the weather is nice. In the winter, I bring a water bottle and bowl and usually end up sharing with other dogs. Sometimes, I bike out here with my dog; its a bit hard to get to by bike due to somewhat high speed traffic in the area but as long as its not rush hour its manageable.

Take our dog there almost every day. Plenty of shade, access to water, a separate fenced in area for smaller dogs/puppies. Lots of open room to run.

Lots of dogs, lots of grass, tennis balls all over the place. Pick up after your pup. On rainy days, be prepared for some muddy spots.
