Great Photo of Iconic Route 66 Landmark east of Downtown Tulsa OK! This neon sign is just one of the many places along the Mother Road that you should stop to see as you travel Oklahomas section of the original Interstate Highway. At night it has even more impact which makes for an even better photo opportunity that is just too good to pass up. This photo is actually a composite of nine pictures that are stitched together into this detailed image of a great two story neon sign that deserves its Historical Landmark distinction.
Awesome Place just for the photo itself. Totally takes you back in time. The Meadow Gold Sign is back up! This has been both a Tulsa and Route 66 Landmark since 1930, there are 24 miles of Historic Route 66 running through Tulsa. Along it are bits and pieces of history. One of those bits and pieces has been restored and re-erected along the historic pathway. Its a new home near 11th and Quaker for the Meadow Gold Milk sign that lit-up the corner of 11th and Lewis along Historic Route 66 for decades. Five plaques at the new site explain the history with a Huge Route 66 Logo imprinted in the center of the displayed Neon Sign.A little story I was told by a local was Tulsa’s historic Meadow Gold sign was finally back up after some challenges and determination to NOT let this Iconic Sign be destroyed. The Meadow Gold sign was a neon sign by Meadow Gold Dairy, which is a brand that at one time was owned by Beatrice Foods. The project started in 2004 when TFA was awarded a grant from the National Park Service Route 66 Corridor to restore the Meadow Gold sign, which was mounted on top of a small one-story building. After the project began, a NEW owner came along and made it known that he planned to demolish the Sign and Building. Everyone rallied to keep this from happening and money was raised and awarded to save the historic sign. Mayor Taylor officiated a public dedication of the sign on May 22, lighting the sign for the first time since the 1970s. And oh how Beautiful she is just like back in 1930.
Didnt know the history of the meadow gold district til today. Fascinating at best!
Love this landmark. It is to be at the corner of 11th & Lewis.

Really nice historic landmark and the corner cafè really good service
Route 66 must.
Went to photograph the Meadow Gold sign. The area is nice.
So cool to see the Meadow Gold come sign back to life. Its a neat stop on Route 66 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Pretty neat little place to stop right next to a Cafe on the corner, however the general area seems to be of poor quality
Great place for pictures
The food at the Corner Cafe was incredible and the service was exceptional! The area around the sign was clean. Traffic in this area during the weekend is also really light.
Must see on the RT. Just a block down the road from Buck Atom.
I love the nostalgic idea of the thing. But, it took forever to show the correct time, and its not lit. Otherwise Id go 5 stars all day.
Just drove through going home.
