This place gets better and better each time we go. Breathtaking, relevant art and inspiring important exhibits every visit. And its just plain fun!! From the garden cats, the coy pond, to the thoughtful outside activities set up for the kids, and now the gorgeous holiday lights and trees... Philbrook NEVER disappoints.Ps, they are AMAZING with safety precautions for covid. Mask(real masks) requirement..correctly worn, social distancing enforced, timed entries as not to be too crowded... we felt very safe.
This was, without hesitation, one of my top museum experiences to date. The Philbrook is a beautiful venue. It has incredible spaces, astonishing grounds, and a vibrant art collection doing a solid job of representing American and European art. They do an outstanding job of integrating Native artists into their galleries seamlessly. This was definitely a highlight for me. I also was blown away by their outdoor spaces and the brilliant invitations, at every turn, to engage with the landscape. Play, learn, engage- a holistically elevated visit.I will certainly return EVERY SIGNLE TIME I am in Tulsa.
I had a magnificent experience at the Philbrook Museum of Art. The gardens are breathtaking, the museum itself is fantastic. It is small enough to take your time to observe and learn about each piece which was nice. The collection housed at the Philbrook is amazing, there is a wide array of various artifacts and art from different eras and cultures. I would highly recommend visiting! Even if you are not an art or history lover, you will love just perusing the gardens and taking in the beautiful sights. They also have events constantly, you can check on their website. There was Second Saturday and Yoga in the Gardens going on while I was there.
The Philbrook is PHENOMENAL! Their collection and recent attention to Native artists has won me over. Keep an eye out for events, because they are a must. The Hearts of Our People exhibit was breathtaking, and made me thankful for Native Women Artists. There is an entrance fee (with a few exceptions), but it is totally worth it. The gardens are very nice if you are looking for a good picnic site.
Used to come here as a kid for the UFO program. Every Thursday a group of us would be bussed in and worked with educators on varieties of art and art education. Because of this program, I am still watercolor painting and attempting to collect art. Love coming to see the new exhibits.Christmas time is spectacular. One of my favorite Tulsa gems.
This is the finest art museum Tulsa has to offer! If you are an art fanatic we highly encourage you to plan a full day to visit it. There is an eclectic blend of different types of artwork. The garden was stunning and offers many opportunities to take breathtaking photos. Even though this museum is housed in an Italian styled mansion there are artwork collections that come from all over the world! The staff was friendly and was able to answer any questions we had. We highly recommend that you visit Philbrook!
This place is amazing. We had a wonderful time here. All the art is laid out well, there is a little something for everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful all the way around. A person could well spend a day here and not be bored. The gardens and landscape are beautiful. I enjoyed all the suggestion signs, i.e., they have rakes for people to make piles of leaves and jump in, a neat rope swing on top of a gentle knoll, a sign there that reads the hill is great for rolling and it truly was! going up the walk, there is a soft, grassy area with the sign inviting guest to lay and look for shapes in the clouds, etc. There are lots of benches and tables to sit and enjoy the experience. I noticed, this place is wheelchair friendly too! elevators, ramps and nice wide doorways! This is a laid back place where we felt invited to stay; not a stuffy art museum that rushes the patrons through and looks down their glasses at the patrons!!I could write all the wonderful things this place has to offer, but, its worth the trip to discover the beauty on ones own. :)
Wonderful place with amazing and unique art. The grounds were beautiful even in the fall. The only drawback was the rotting vegetables that filled the center of the learning garden structure. The size of the zucchini were impressive, but sadly at least 50 were left to rot on the vine. Maybe there was a reason? Either way, its a beautiful place to spend a dreary oklahoma chilly afternoon!
So I love this hidden gem in Tulsa.I went there on its first opening day since March.Everyone except for one gentleman with some medical issues was wearing a mask and there were art school students sketching at the garden. They have an original Henry Mattiss and an original Kandinsky.Their Native American art collection is one of the best in the world.Dont forget to check this awesome place out.
My son had a project for school. The staff was wonderful. They helped us find what we needed and gave us the chance to go to the gardens when we needed to take a break from wearing a mask.
A stunning space with an excellent range of art from many communities that gives you a sense of both the traditional art forms and more daring expressions of who we have been and who we might become
I cannot express what a delight the park was for my family today. The four kids in our party LOVED the sensory scavenger hunt. What a genius way to teach children to be comfortable and engage with art. 2020 has been brutal, and we have to take great care with our money. What a blessing their admission was. I would give you more stars if a could! I love the Kihinde piece and the increasing diversity in the work. Tulsa rocks because of foundations and art programs like yours.
The Philbrook is a Tulsa staple and a STUNNING backdrop for hosting any occasion! From event staff, to catering, to security and beyond, their entire team is eager to make your event perfect, and we cant recommend the Philbrook enough!
Beautiful photo ops in the gardens and more interesting collection of art than youd expect. Definitely worth the few hours it takes to soak it all in.
Today was the first time my daughter and myself had an outing during the pandemic. We went to the Philbrook Museum of Art with another mom and her daughter. It was colorful and vibrant and such a beautiful fall day to enjoy the beauty that the museum has to offer. Anyone with small children should definetly give the story time a try. I will definitely have to take photos next time. I am very relieved that we went today.
This museum is incredible and has an amazing outdoor courtyard. The tour isnt necessary, I only recommend it to people who want to know the deep lore behind some art pieces. They show a great portrayal of indigenous womens art and are very respectful.
One of the best places to take out of town visitors to. Its a truly unique museum and gardens and worth a membership. With the galleries and restaurant closed for now, weve discovered the beauty and serenity of the grounds. Bring some local takeout and have a picnic. There are fun swings to discover and shaded walking paths to get a nice walk.
Loved it! The museum was impressive. I saw my first Picasso. The gardens were BEAUTIFUL. I loved wandering around and looking at things.
Incredible experience. The grounds are beautiful. I felt transported, and I had to keep asking myself, “is this Tulsa or Tuscany?!”
I have lived in the Tulsa area for a few years now and finally had the chance to visit this museum. I loved the exhibit on indigenous female artists. I highly suggest everyone take the time to visit this gorgeous place.
The Philbrook is a beautiful buiding, part old mansion and part new museum. Knowledgeable guides are available for tours and it is worth it . The grounds outside are not to be missed. On our recent trip there was a traveling collection of Native American art both inside and on the grounds that was very interesting.
Downside, much closed due to Covid still, only special exhibit and gardens open, yet price was still same? Seems odd, should have been cheaper maybe?Pro: amazing gardens!! Beautiful art exhibition in the special exhibits. Workers are all very kind and appropriate. Gal working in the shop was really sweet and conversational. Really enjoyed our short visit. Just wish more rooms were open.
One of the best places I’ve visited in Tulsa. I’ve been here for just over 2 years now and haven’t visited this place all the while though it was highly recommend by my fiends. Paintings, craftwork and other artifacts from Middle East and America are displayed besides to having a sprawling lawn through which a walk is a must do. Would revisit and recommend this place to many.
This place is eye candy for the art enthusiast and gardener at heart. It is beautiful inside and out.
The Philbrook museum is the home of the founders of Phillips Petroleum. Their home was a gift to the city of Tulsa to be used as a museum. The grounds are phenomenal with terraces and walkways that you can meander down. A koi pond is nestled against the lower part of the well kept garden. The art is unique and different but the star of the show to us was the garden.
Its always a wonderful experience at Philbrook. I especially love the holidays there.
Stunning museum full of art with a fantastic view of the garden out back! Went on the second Saturday of the month and it happened to be free which was an amazing surprise considering that this museum is worth every penny that they normally charge! Its a must see whether you are visiting Tulsa or live here!
Philbrook is truly a gem in the crown of Tulsas culture. From the architecture of the original villa, to the professional presentation of amazing ancient artwork, native American art, and exhibitions of modern art, there is no parallel in the state. We had lunch in the museums restaurant, 27. Finely crafted sandwiches, soups and burgers at a reasonable price makes spending the day enjoyable.Be sure to explore the formal and informal gardens, as well as the art installations on the grounds. The cabin was amazing! We made sure to peruse the museums gift shop, where copies of the art, books, games and darling toys can be found. With all the proceeds going to support the museums foundation, a purchase is a no-brainer!
Love the way this museum is set up. Truly felt like I went back in time. The artwork is beautiful, gardens are breathtaking, and we even stumbled upon a very unique log cabin on the property.
I took my granddaughter here today to see the gardens and the log cabin. We were not disappointed, but cut our visit short because of the heat. We had an early lunch to cool down then a quick trip through the special exhibit. It is hard to be five years old!
The selection of art is beautiful, and the house is so unique, as well as historic. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and kept. I’m just disappointed that the indoor museum is closed right now. I was hoping to take my mom here when she visits, but it isn’t worth it to me to only tour the outdoor portion.
Such a beautiful museum. I wish I had time to see more of it. I will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful place for an art experience. Loved the garden experience. Prepare for a warm session if you decide to visit during the summer, middle of the day. Plan an early visit to the garden and then experience the museum thereafter. Loved the people who work at the gift shop, they are full of knowledge.
This is our familys second visit to this iconic landmark. The mansion-turned-museum is an opulent indulgence, home to an enormous aggregation of a variety of art pieces. If youre an aficionado of art, this is the place to visit.
Absolutely stunning museum full of an amazing array of art from the 17th - 21st centuries as well as an Egyptian exhibit and Islamic exhibit with items dating as far back as 300 BC. The house itself is a fabulous work of art itself. The botanical gardens are jaw dropping and be sure to walk the grounds and take a look at the log cabin full of stained glass and colors galore. Such beauty and fascinating exhibits, well worth a visit.
Reasonably priced, lots to see and down right beautiful!! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was very clean and lots to see for everyone! I would highly recommend checking it out if youre in the area!! The outdoor area and gardens were by far my favorite part of the museum!! A must see for art or museum lovers!! The buildings itself was absolutely beautiful!!
Great place to take the family on their free Saturdays. Lots of fun activities for the kids to keep them interacting. The gardens are beautiful as well. There is a really nice cat that roams around too :) I did a yarnbomb a couple of years ago when I was commissioned by Philbrook to cover the garden trees with yarn. It was really fun and looked neat!
Such a beautiful place, the fiance and I really enjoyed our visit here.
This is one of the GREAT museums of the world. Fantastic collection, wonderfully installed, and the building and the gardens are magnificent!!!!
A great historic mansion, fantastic diversity of art and exhibits, and amazing gardens that are second to none in the world.
Nice visit. Great foliage and amazing landscapes
I love the Philbrook! The building is one of my favourites to spend time in even aside from the art. There are many pieces Ive connected with over the years (having grown up here in Tulsa). And the gardens are by far my favorite part! When everything blooms and the weather is right it is its own kind if paradise. Beautiful museum.
Great museum/ mansion in Tulsa, Oklahoma! I cant believe we are just now learning of it since we have been making frequent trips for over 2 years now. Looking forward to returning. Thanks for the hospitality!
I had an amazing experience here, this is definitely worth visiting! Its beautiful! The staff are also very nice and helpful.
I can’t remember if I was in 6th grade or 7th grade since the last time I was here. But it’s been roughly 10 years and I have seen change. Lots of things that I Hansen before.
Very beautiful museum. Great art and collection works.Worth the visit simply for the garden. It was full of color, bees, butterflies and birds. Peaceful and alive.
This is a must see, their garden is spectacular, and the art work inside is very unique.
Always a great time with the family. Always something fun going on or just go walk the garden.
Very nice museum, the gardens are beautiful. Dont miss the cabin its awesome!
5 stars. Hands down. Perfect little walk through to see the most beautiful exhibits. The prettiest piece of property in Tulsa.
Main attraction in Tulsa. Great for art, photography, nature walks, picnics.
A beautiful place to visit, experience great art and expand your cultural awareness. I visited at this time so I could see the WONDROUS WORLDS: ART & ISLAM THROUGH TIME & PLACE exhibit. It was gorgeous!
This place used to be an old house, now its been updated. Last I went was back in 2003 or something. Went last week and had fun. Its not the Met, so its great!! Philbrook is the type of museum where you get to the end and youre happy. Its over at the right time. Some museums go on and on (The Met) and you just want to find the exit. And some are ridiculously vague (distilleries). Still, some are time-wasting (small historicals). But Philbrook is just the right ok. Its $9 for adults and cheaper for everyone else. You got 3 indoor levels and the outside garden. Perfect for school trips, couples, older people and families. Very wheelchair friendly. The garden has a cabin and an interactive edible garden. The outside restrooms are beautiful!!! They are very well kept and completely tiled an very handsome; very well made. The creek and waterfall is amazing and peaceful. A very beautiful place to visit.
In addition to the wonderful art collection and exhibits (chocolate is my favorite), our family loves the amazing Philbrook Gardens.
Tulsa landmark. Enjoy the excellent art. Beautiful grounds. Plan the day. Lunch the gallery’s then the gardens.
It is a very good museum with a restaurant and a souvenirs shop. It has a very good garden and kids could play and have fun here.Artifacts collection in the museum is also very interesting. One can plan a good day out here.
Advertisement at the airport claims this is the most beautiful place in all of Oklahoma. I have not combed the state, but it is a pretty impressive estate. They had the Impression art exhibits (Degas, Cassatt, and Pissarro) which made our visit even more delightful. You will not be disappointed; theres much to see and admire. You should set aside at least three hours to fully enjoy the place. $9 entrance fee. 17 and younger are free.
Awesome museum with an eclectic collection of art from around the globe. The grounds/gardens are AMAZING. I just got back from vacation in Italy, and thought I was still there. Stunning gardens and museum!
Everyone was so nice and helpful. We went to second Saturday so admission was free. Thats an amazing deal to a mother of 2. We had fun with crafts, my favorite part, and the staff was so patient with our family. We walked around the grounds for an hour. I WORE MY kids OUT! We checked out the gift shop on the way out. They were really impressed. There were so many toys that encourage activity, I love it.
This museum is beautiful and full of local history. The building itself is worth the trip but the artwork inside is also amazing. I highly recommend getting a tour to learn about the building if you can. The gardens are gorgeous any time of year and in the summer they often host movie nights on the lawn. The artwork is constantly expanding and they also change exhibits so there is something new to see every time you go. Tulsa Community College and Tulsa University students get in for free by showing their school ID and I highly recommend taking advantage of that. This is one of my favorite places to wonder in Tulsa and I will come here time and time again.
This is an amazing museum! There is something for everyone the youngest to the oldest!
Great place good for family and fun
First time visiting with my daughter who is an amazing artist. Had a great time! Loved The Shadow Box!
Nice place. Very pretty garden.
Nice place to visit with family and friends with big art gallery.
I love Philbrook. Theres an event for eveyone!
We always enjoy Philbrook and Christmas was no exception. The Christmas lights were nice, but the light show was very basic, and we didnt recognize the song it was set to either. Parking lot was full for the Christmas event, even though we arrived a bit early, and had to park a block away in the street, but my family enjoyed the evening. Nice craft area for the kids and Santas stained glass cabin was unique.
As a guy born and raised here that enjoys fine art, Chicago Fine Arts Museum, I mean Philbrook Museum has a special place in my heart. The galleries are outstanding and filled with abundance from modern art to Impressionism to Renaissance and so many more genres. The grounds/gardens are lovely and maintained very well. In a neat part of town so the drive to and from the museum is enjoyable as well. Check out Chicago---I mean Philbrook. You wont be disappointed. This is what I get for just watching Ferris Buehlers Day Off. Ferris definitely would come here if he had a day in Tulsa, Im quite sure.
Every time we go its amazing. Always something new and exciting to see. They always have staff members who are excited to share their love for art with the public, especially youth. If you havent been, youre definitely missing out.
Gorgeous place. This is the kind of scene you can surprise someone with big news: proposal, pregnancy, etc... walking out of the mansion and into the gardens is wondrous.
Incredible museum. The garden make me feel like I was in Italy. Its a must if you are in Tulsa
Absolutely stunning works of art. The history and culture is so fantastic to take in. Its a very quiet peaceful place. The grounds are kept so beautifully! One of my favorites, Thomas Moran painting attached.
Beautiful place. Handicap accessible. Great staff
One of my favorite museums, and not only because of the three garden cats. The exhibits are always top notch. Great gift shop, with merchandise that changes regularly.
Very good place for fun to go. Amazing things, and cute cat
Philbrook is my favorite place in Tulsa!! The winter festival was so good this year. The light display was beautiful. The absolute best addition was Santa’s cabin. Absolutely stunning!! I will continue to visit Philbrook all year long.
Enjoyed the Native American section, especially the pottery. Beautiful place.
Really cool location and art. Nice selection and our tour gave us a good backstory of the house and a little history. Featured exhibit was super cool as well. Photos are some interesting pieces I liked.
Such a great place to visit. Fantastic exhibits, and a spectacular garden.
Wonderful place near downtown Tulsa with great exibits and amazing grounds. Even if youre just stopping for a night or two in Tulsa, this would be a great place to visit!
A treasure in Tulsa! Such a cool museum and the history there is awesome.... right up there with the Nelson Atkins in KC in my opinion.
AMAZING! Its so beautiful there. Lots of art and sculptures to look at inside and outside there is a beautiful garden.
We loved this museum! Such beautiful architecture and artwork!
It was insanely beautiful....
I quite enjoyed this museum. the fact that the structure is an old, huge mansion added another element to it. each room is unique and there is an amazing garden in the backyard. my husband and I had a great time.
Love this place! Fantastic installations and gorgeous grounds. It never disappoints!
A wonderful exhibit. The new lawn cabin....
Beautiful museum when they actually have it all the way opened up. Same price admission even though most of it is closed, would not have went and spent all my money on it if Id realized that only the gardens and exhibit were open.
I like the design of this museum - it is in an old oil tycoons home. Beautiful grounds too.
I have lived in Tulsa for over 20 years & today was my first visit. Absolutely gorgeous! Will definitely be going back quite often!
Such a beautiful place to spend a lovely afternoon!
Had a great time with the kids. We watched the original Willy Wonka movie on the lawn. It was a beautiful evening and they had all sorts of tables set up with contests and freebies for families to enjoy. My family and I will definitely be back.
The most beautiful museum!! 2nd Saturday of the month is free admission and tons of crafts to do with kids! So fun!
We attended the Festival of Lights for the first time. I was a little disappointed in the light display and in the train. Santa’s cabin was cute and the lights were pretty, but I think I was just expecting more. The museum itself is lovely and the art is incredible. I
So many pieces of art.. Youll have to spend a whole day looking.. I had a great time...
The wealth of petroleum has created a spacious mansion which became a museum of art inside Tulsa. A gem worth enjoying for several hours. Western Art, European art, elaborate gardens stunning architecture - It is all available in one space!
I cannot recommend this museum highly enough. Wonderful collection of art from Picasso to William Bouguereau to Georgia OKeefe and Thomas Moran and so much more. The grounds are beautiful as is the villa itself and the cabin is something you sure will not want to miss. Beautiful to see when the light shines through the glass. First class museum and first class staff that go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable. Great gift shop as well.
Excellent light display and snacks and drinks
Amazing collection with innovative touring exhibits, interactive events, and community focus. The museum is trying to be more representative of the whole Tulsa community and bring in pieces from a greater variety of contemporary and historical artists, vs. the typical dead white guys. I always look forward to new exhibits and events - they never disappoint!
