Great views, for a short hike. Easy walking on a paved street and NO automobile traffic before 11 am. On Mondays no auto traffic at all. Make sure to take sun protection and maybe water.

Kinda cool views. No hiking around there. Cars parked all over the top with just a road. Trails you will see a couple pulloffs before reaching the A. You maybe can climb up the a to escape the people and get a better view. Nice drive to see a quick sunset if you live in the area

Great little hike with fantastic views. Go early before 11am and you dont have to worry about cars (they keep the gate locked). Bicyclists love it because there is a small loop at the top that they can take as many times as they want.

Beautiful morning hike to watch sunrise. Park at gate and walk up. Depending on fitness level you can zip right up the mountain in about 15-20 minutes but the road winds around so you get a variety of views. Total hike can take about an hour or more especially if you stop to take photos and/or meditate.

Great views. Some elevation. 730ft. 3.10 miles round-trip. Some litter around which is sad. Too many people on their cell phones-dont need to listen to the loud convos. Can people not tarry without their phone for a while. Too many kids yelling and running around.

Nice to go on a Monday - no cars. Mostly had the place to ourselves. Cool morning 37 and lots of clouds. Nice hike up the paved road and to the top of the peak.Unfortunately like many Tucson parks, too much trash, graffiti and broken glass. Infrastructure also needs some maintenance.

A - Mountain is a true treasure of Tucson.I recently went to sing the Hawaiian Wedding song for a young couple that gotmarried on a picture perfect day for the wedding. The groom is a member of theSGI USA religion and he is in my district.I also shot some wedding photos for thecouple. It a great place for visitors andlocal to enjoy the natural beauties of Tucson. The road to the top of the hillis narrow and one way up and one waydown. Be sure to drive slow and be courtesy to pedestrian walking up the hill. Enjoy yourtrip to A - mountain .Aloha,Don O

Walked up to the top of the peak for New Years Eve. We got there in time to see the fireworks light up all around the city. Another reviewer mentioned the infrastructure needing work, and I would especially agree for the trail that leads to the highest point. Fixing up the place the match the view could make this a great city overlook!

This is the place to view Tucson from.Drive up to the parking lot and you can get a great view of the backside of A mountain. There are paths to take you to the A. There are 2 shaded areas & benches along the path, but the last 100 or so feet are typical mountain hiking trails. There are climbing paths to the summit from both the parking lot and various places around the base of the summit.I was there during the day but I understand the night-time view is stupendous. This is a panorama shot so if youre on a smartphone turn your phone sideways.

This paved road is nice but the hours the gate is open is not posted that I could find meaning when I tried to have my family enjoy the sun rise we needed to quickly find a different neighboring hill that was open for them to enjoy. When it is open the parking is great with stunning view of the city and the distant mountains. If you can make it when the gates are open it is worth the trip.

Recommend getting there early in the morning and can see the sunrise over Tucson. If you get there ~30 min before sunrise you can be at the top in time to see the sun crest over the Catalinas and Rincons.Really easy trip back down hill and a nice option to vary things up from Tumanoc. Less difficult than Tumanoc too.Great little hike with wonderful views of Tucson all around. Dont forget to touch the A =)

Magnificent place for those who love sunrises and sunsets! I wont be wrong if I tell that at A mountain viewpoint is the most beautiful panorama of Tucson! And it is within just 15 mins driving from downtown! Sport people who run to the top of A at the dawn have a very strong motivation to run faster - to get to the top in time and see a sunrise!:)

I love the view from this whole mountain. You can go all the way to the top and there is a little bench for you to sit at. Watching at least one sunset from Sentinel Peak is a MUST if you are in Tucson. There can be a lot of people at times but I have yet to be directly bothered by any of them. I wish they kept it open longer because the city looks so pretty at night too. This is such a great place to relax and talk with others.
