Very nice playground equipment for the kids. Well watered, green grass and nice trees. People clean up after their dogs although some are not on a leash. Also tennis courts, pool and library make this a great destination to hang out.
I really like that park I have drove by it a couple of times before I actually went to it and the times I saw it was during the day but when I actually went it happened to be at night time and to my surprise there was no lights really it was actually very dark and there was still a good amount of kids playing and it was only really around 6pm and it was just really dark so I enjoyed the park but I wish they had better lights especially for those who get off at 5 and have promised to take their kids to the park and their kids remember that promise.
This is a University of Arizona people Park. Extremely dog-friendly historically, evaporative cooled restroom but currently turned off, excellent day after rain cool grass and ample shade with Progressive tolerance of diverse Community enjoying public space. Library is just for collecting salaries in currently as well unless you need to return items or pick them up having requested them remotely. Thats of course pleasing people who never use the building for other purposes themselves so regressive in being tolerated since March. Outstanding Grassi Stadium retained against landscape architecture fascist attacks so far but it will be graded flat if peeps dont keep up the advocacy.
Himmel park has always been a nice park in the middle of the city, Rolling Green Landscape play areas for children picnic areas a pool and did I mention the Rolling Green Landscape and eucalyptus trees. We started going very very occasionally just to hang out and eat lunch and enjoy respite from the daily grind. We discovered during the covid-19 shut down that Himmel park was a great place to head to after picking up carryout coffee for social distancing coffee dates with friends.
Clean, safe and has new equipment. A perfect park where kids can be kids.
Great local outdoor park with ample shade and open space for pets or picnics. Walking trail around park, very peaceful!
Great park with a fantastic playground for bigger and smaller kidlets alike. Well-maintained and lots of shade.
Very relaxing and clean. Everyone was doing there own thing
This place is amazing. You get to see dogs of all breeds and theres enough space for everyone to play any sport. Its very close to UA Mall but I go there because there are soccer goal posts which I use to practise. Great place to change your mood if youre having a bad day
Very lovely tonight with temp down. My 3 year old grandson was in heaven playing on thre climbing structure in the dark and with no else there!
With the recent improvements of having 2 new playgrounds (for different ages), new swings, and a big paved area for scooters/roller blades/etc., your kids are sure to have a blast. Ours did!
Himmel is such a great little neighborhood park. A little something for everyone and lots of open space! With the library right there, its an all around delight!
Very pretty park in Sam Hughes historic division of Tucson.
Other than needing lighting, my girls love it!
Well maintained... lacks public rest room
This place is always clean and they use to have a variety of things to do however it would seem lately due to the pandemic every time I go the pool is closed as well as the tennis courts. But its still a relaxing place to ho.
Lovely early morning in the shade and grass. We were repeatedly visited at length by several curious hummingbirds and a couple of gorgeous vermilion flycatchers. Nice touch!
Great Park for the kids and your pup!
Nice park. Plenty of open space.
Seeing parents playing w their own kids reminds me of better times!
24hr open is really awesome for me normally arriving around 3am. Fresh ingredients of my choice prepared by a group of employees that are cool, friendly and I like. Prices very reasonable as coupons in mail make it a real bargain.
Best unofficial dog park ever!
Lots of green grass. Open spaces. Benches, exercise area and in the evening puppy play dates. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming.
Great place for outdoor meetings!
Probably the only metal slide left in Tucson, loved it!
The park is nice, play area needs a better tarp/covering especially now that its getting warmer. Good area to get burned. Could use an additional play area as well.Restroom needs soap and should have both restrooms open for the amount of people frequenting the park for soccer games.
Great family park, one of the few in town where I feel reasonably safe at odd hours.
Nice park with most of the things one needs out of a park. There are a couple playgrounds, a few open field areas, backstops, soccer goals, tennis courts, some hills...park stuff. Himmel is pretty clean and rarely has many homeless folk hanging overnight.
Beautiful Park to bring my dogs to but didnt realize there were so many others and my dogs arent fully socialized yet so they were barking a lot wanting to go after them (not in a harmful way)
Little run down, but great geocaching!
This park is terrific! Lot of play equipment for kids! The the library is next to this park. On Saturdays they have a puppet bunny that collects the returned books. Soooo cute!! Kids love this! (Grandmas too)
This park is my favorite park to take my grandkids. There is equipment for every age and ability level and plenty of room just to run. I like that there is a more intiment play area close to the library where you can easily picnic while the kids play. And did I mention the library? Play time and down time! Perfect!
I go to Hummel park to walk on my lunch. It seems safe, while children play as parents watch over the kids. There are a couple of play areas, not the prettiest place but nevertheless its nice.
This is my neighborhood park. Its a nice park with lots of parking. The playground is nice. There does seem to be a large transient population present living in the park, but theyre nice and get off the playground equipment if you have kids with you.
A Nice pleasant place to get some excercise
Its quite and nice.
Its got a small library. A really big open area that they play soccer in. There is also grills for cooking. A great park
This park has a great playground for kids, and large trees for shade, its the only park we go to in the summer because of the shade. Great for birthday parties! It is centrally located and feels generally safe.
Grandkids love it!
Really nice park. Clean&relaxing but too many weirdos
Great play equipment but a lot of homeless people around the bathrooms. Not a great place to take children to the bathrooms. We probably wont go back.
Really nice park
A great park with nice playgrounds but every single time we have been the bathrooms were HORRIBLE!!! Never ANY soap or towels water doesn’t work and homeless people everywhere! Always a very busy park I’m not sure why it’s never been fixed!
I love this park! Lots of big trees, open spaces, a fun playground and a series of exercise equipment around the perimeter of the park. Great for playing and training!
Theres shop much green grass. Clean restrooms, quiet and peaceful. Lots of shade trees and a safe place to hang out. The homeless are so helpful and pleasant, they protect the residents by keeping the purse snatchers away
Nice parkDid not realize how big it is
Great place to adventure and sightsee
Good playareas. Well kept grounds. A library. But like other parks, on the weekends the bathrooms are pre-occupied by the local transients who leave a lot of mess behind. Other than that the rest of the park is fine.
Great little park, very few homeless.
A lot of homeless and drug addicts didnt the park. Make sure you watch your kids.
I love the big hill, but the grass is often pretty dead. Conveniently located near eegees, this park makes a great picnic spot.
This is a great park!
I liked this park because i ran into a renisanse gathering all dressed in medevail attire,it was really super cool.
The new playground is really well built and safe. Seating is good, but they need shade over the picnic benches in the center island.
This is a very nice park near downtown and the U of A. Lots of space and areas for sports and other activities. A great place to meet friends for pickup games and runs/walks around the park.
Wish the caution tape be gone already. Stay healthy Tucson
New play equipment on the west side of the park is awesome! Two different sets next to each other. One for up to 5 year olds the other is great for everyone else. Plus they still have a couple swings and the giant slide. The pool is right there, tennis courts, some workout stations. Lots open space for free play and the library on the east side.
This is, hands-down, my favorite park in Tucson! I just love the location and the scenery. Its also next to the Himmel Park library, so its a great place to take kids. There are swing sets, basketball courts, slides, fancy playground equipment, etc. They have a very large grassy area where you will see lots of runners, people walking their dog, playing soccer, and doing different types of yoga, Tai Chi, and fitness classes in the grass. Enormous trees and a great mountain view. Its a super popular park, and I love the variety of people I run into at it.
Nice and clean. Quiet, a good place to spend a peaceful moment.
What an awesome new playground. They are trying to get donations for a pavilion, so stop by the park and check out the poster to donate! Its a well worth it project cause parents need shade too!
Himmel is a neighborhood favorite. It is pretty clean, and has a new play structure for kids ages 2-5, and another ages 5 and up. Tennis courts, a pool, and library on site so lots to keep you entertained.
Great place to unwind
I love Himmel Park. Its large and green (a really nice thing in the desert), provides ample picnic areas and places for children to play: and STILL has room for tennis courts, soccar, & best of all the Himmel Park Library, which sits on the northeast corner of the park. Tops the list of my favorite parks!
Great park for little kids. Library is right next door for older kids. Sometimes can be crowded on weekends.
Chris and I went to this park and had one of many great conversations.
My brother and family live close by and the children have a good time there
Public restroom. Fun playground. Scooter & Bike area
Nice looking green grass and the jungle gym is in good condition for the kids
The place is very nice and has a lot of tennis courts and football fields and a nice library.
By far, one of the nicest parks in tucson. Green grass, beautiful trees for shade. Kick back read a book
Big fields and a cool playground that my 4 year old loved! It was too advanced/sketchy to have my 1 year old there without stressfull hovering. The downside is that the bathrooms are far and very disgusting.
Park was well-maintained, plenty of shady spots to sit for picnic (all tables were taken up). Only issue, that is endemic of all public spaces, is folks blasting their favorite brand of music with sounds carrying throughout the vicinity. The wind in the trees, the singing birds, the sounds of children playing and laughing - thats the kind of music I want to hear.A beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon with my beloved, having a delicious picnic lunch.
Nice park, just watch out for some of the homeless people looking living there.
Love this park especially now that they remodeled the playground equipment ️
Nice park, well kept
This place has so many fields and a playground. One perk is that is has a bathroom. Great place for soccer tournaments
Peaceful..
Its a great place for kids to burn off energy!
I love this neighborhood park. Large field for multipurpose use, theater events in the summer, awesome little library, pool, play ground for the kids which includes one of the few remaining large steel slides around. It’s a nice park where people care about its condition and pitch in to keep it clean and an enjoyable environment. I’ve been going to the park for over 13 years and it’s remained this way the entire time.
I love this park. Went to high school right next to it, my kids love the playground its never crowded either. Great park nice and safe area as well
Great place to walk the dogs or the kids. Lol.
What a great time we had! There was so much to do. The kids had a blast. Thank you, Tucson for taking great care of our parks.
Good park. Two different playgrounds which are great. Only problem is finding a restroom theres one in the library but its a far walk from the newest playground.
Nice park with two play areas for kids, ball fields, and tennis courts. I wish the bathrooms were closer to the playground area (especially for young kids who cant hold it to long).
Its a park. Very clean. Local library right there. Enjoy some time both in the park and library.
