A great place to get in some leg burning trail walks. With a nice breeze, the trails are great to meander on. Just dont go when its blistering hot or you will most definitely hate your life. The one downside is that not all of the trails are marked. So bring a good map and know how to use a compass and read said map.

Good trail. National Park Ranger was on hand at the start with trail guides and for assistance. Descent elevation gains, but the views was Outstanding.

This is a good trail head that has access to quite a few trails on the north side of Saguaro National Park East. The facility itself is unfortunately lacking. There are no services (no water or restrooms) and very little parking. There is a single covered picnic bench area directly adjacent to the parking lot and trail entrance. Most mornings the traffic overflows into street side parking which is fortunately adequate. I have seen FS Officers/Park Rangers in the lot on occasion which I appreciate (this would be a 2 or 1 star review if not for that). I would like to see more enforcement on the trails themselves in this area- I have seen horse riders not following proper trails as well as people walking pets, which is illegal here.

We were surprised how Green the area was especially considering that the monsoon season never arrived this year. Great hike.

I loved this hike! The trail was beautiful and fairly easy in the beginning. You end up climbing pretty high elevation wise, so I would say this trail is at the moderate level. There were some folks on the trail as well, but everyone wore a mask when we passed. Definitely bring enough water and a mask. Not a lot of parking, but you can park along the street there.

Great trail! This is an easy trail with lots of interesting cacti not far from the parking area. The parking area is small so parking down the road may be required. Great place for sunset photos, but please respect the dawn to dusk policy and please pickup any trash you come across.

Did the Douglas Spring Trail on Saturday with my wife and kids. Located at the EAST end of Speedway Blvd. We went in 1.5 miles and then came back out. It’s a nice hike, and the cactus are starting to pop which makes it really scenic right now. The trail is not too steep and there are well developed “steps”, but it is a bit narrow and that makes social distancing a slight challenge. Would be better if they did not allow horses as they leave a mess and the owners don’t clean up after their animals.VictorB

Beginning at the Douglas Spirngs Trailhead, we hiked to Ernies Falls to Bridal Wreath to Garwood Trail in Saguaro National Park. It is a very pretty moderately difficult 8.65 mile hike. If you can visit when the snow melts, the falls are amazing!

It was very fun, I cant wait to go back! I saw a lot of wildlife when I got further out. Roadrunner, desert fox, mountain lion, white tail deer, King snake and many other birds. The switchback are amazing and give an amazing view of part of the saguaro national forest. Look out for some pics and I cant wait to get my action camera!

Well marked and maintained trails, overall effort was a little more than my family anticipated, dont make the same mistake. Make sure you bring plenty of water and be prepared to take the full hit from the sun as there is little to no shade along the trails. We chose to hit them early 6am to take advantage of the cooler temperatures but the lack of shade still took its toll.

The views from this trail are amazing. In my humble opinion, I would classify this trail as Hard. It is highly trafficked, so you will pass plenty of fellow hikers. If its not proven, I would guess the ascent is around 900ft. within the first 1.5 miles. Occasionally you will hear and see small waterfalls, as you make your way toward Bridle Wreath Falls and beyond. Wear layers in the winter months; youll need them in the early hours, but likely not later. Its a very good workout. Enjoy.

Nice trail. I stopped at the campground because I was running out of time. The trail is mainly uphill and rather steep for inexperienced hikers, especially under heat. Rincon mountains are very different from Santa Catalina mountains. You need to go far to feel remote but all the trails in the saguaro National Park are really long. I recommend stopping at bridal wreath falls. This place looks really awesome in the last couple hours before sunset. I did not meet anyone. Peaceful. I’ll come back to go to the top.

Trailhead for many places. Head through the cactus forest on side trails to the south. Or continue up and make a loop via the Cabrillo or Three Tanks trails - map on the park web site. Bridalveil falls is pretty when flowing. Or continue in solitude on and up over rolling grasslands and open forest to Douglas Spring camp area, which often has flowing water

Plenty of parking even if you have to park on the street. Recent news story of cars being broken into. Dont leave valuables in plain sight. Have a good map, or use a free trail app to negotiate the myriad trails (maps.me, Alltrails, US Topo Maps). Water is flowing making for great photo opportunities but also wet feet. Were full time hiking RVrs, blog link in bio.

This trailhead has several short and low options, but the focus of my review is its gateway to the higher slopes of the Rincons. These peaks see far less traffic than the Catalinas and are just as high and scenic. Douglas Spring TH can be used to get to Tanque Verde Peak, TV Ridge, Mica Mountain, Helens Dome, Cowhead Saddle, Manning Camp, and the Arizona Trail. All of the high places listed let you experience the Sky Islands to the fullest and much of the trail system up top is in great condition. Along the way youll see seasonal creeks, big views, and large Junipers and Ponderosas not affected by fire.

Great trail with some awesome views. It can take you up high were it gets cool or it can take you on much shorter hikes as well. As always come prepared with sunscreen and proper hiking attire. Little shade and you are almost guaranteed to see a snake on the longer hikes. Ive seen Gila monsters and black rattle snakes around this area. Not recommended to go hiking with headphones.

The parking lot is small, so be prepared to park on the side of the road. No bathrooms at this trailhead. Be mindful as this trail is popular with horseback riding. Take this trailhead to bridal wreath falls (during the rainy/ winter season) and observe beautiful clear streams and waterfalls. A great hike!
