This park has been one of my favorite walks for decades... Easy to to walk around a mile to actually see it all. Most people dont realize the park has more to offer, people are often stunned by the pond full of wildlife, water birds, turtles. Theres actually a pecan grove, and exercise loop on the east half, and hidden gem of a 2nd water feature few people know of. Tranquil place... Never busy
Lots of potential. This is an aging park that hasnt had the attention it deserves. Grounds need lots of maintenance; from the structures (no, not the historical, fenced-in ones) to the landscaping. On a positive note, the pond area was clean, not trashy. I counted 20 turtles at one point. Plenty of ducks to check out. Its a decent place with lots of shade. Just needs a bit of TLC.
This park is wonderful nice and quiet always clean as arr the restrooms! They city workers do a great job at keeping it beautiful and being homeless recently with my 16 year old they look out for us and I want to thank you. Keep up the great work!
I love this park. Off in the cut, lots of shade, well maintained. I was so relieved to see everyone wearing masks even on the playset. Thanks to all that help make this place a good environment for family outings.
One of my favorite parks here in town. They have so much to offer yet it is a great homey neighborhood park feel. Ive had birthday parties there and always had a blast.
I like it. Its a pleasant place and not a whole lot of people hanging around getting into trouble. The lawn seems well kept and so does the tennis courts.
The parking lot is straight from a post apocalypse movie, dogs roam without leashes, dog poop lurks in the grass, and Im pretty sure those guys over there are doing drugs. The pond is nice. I like the turtles. Its also a great park for Pokemon. Ive met lots of nice people here but the blatant disregard for the leash law is concerning.Ive never used the pool and the tennis courts are expensive with too many people taking it way too seriously. I just wanna wack a yellow ball around for a bit. I dont know what level I am. I can barely clear the net.
I love the back of the park as well as the famous duck pond. It is well preserved and well maintained. Overall, I think theres something peaceful and special about Fort Lowell Park that Ill never forget.
Pretty nice. Bathrooms are a little old and could use some work.
I love historical places and this one fits the bill!
We absolutely LOVE this park its so peaceful and calming. My children and i enjoy looking at ALL the turtles and different types of ducks and other birds near the pond. We have also seen a birds catching fish in the water it is TRULY an Amazing experience EVERYTIME we attend Ft. Lowell Park .Thank u
It is one oc Tucsons great parks. Large trees provided lots of shade for Saturday morning Tai Chi classes. There is a duck pond and fountain that make for peaceful meditations. Tai Chi on Saturday starts at 9:30 am and is open to new comers, meets near duck pond north end of park.
The pond, the ducks, the turtles and viewing the Catalinas is a fabulous break from the dry desert.
Nice place, ball fields, kite flying, duck pond, friendly people.
Played tennis there today. Courts recently resurfaced and play really nice.
The museum is closed right now but theres a nice pond with a fountain and ducks and turtles!
Little run down, but still a great park to stretch your legs, and get a Adventure Lab.
This is a great park for walking your dog or enjoying some socially distant fresh air.
Its Walmart. A place e of amazement. And discounts.
Nice park. Oasis in the desert for sure. Loved it. Cant wait to enjoy it when its cooler
A fairly good photo spot.
Cool park, great place to park and go on the new bike trail running next to the wash.. im not sure about the pond on the north west side but the several in the back are gone.
One of my favorite parks in town. Has a lake and plenty of space
Great place to bring your dog and walk around. Very peaceful, and others are very respectful
Went to feed the ducks, but there werent any. The people there all wore masks. We felt very safe. Everyone kept their distance.
Relaxing to sit under a tree in my car with the windows down. Watching the fountain in the pond.
Hey locals! Most of you are missing one of the best of Tucsons parks, pet friendly thank you.
The park itself is just wonderful, Ive been frequenting since I was 9 years old, and still go with my dogs at 30. Problem being that last time I went, it smelled pretty strongly of urine on the grass...no big deal as I just sum it up to the pond and other pet goers playing around. But seriously, awesome park.
Well if u need a N.A. MEETING U CAN GO HERE Today was at 11am took my brother there he found a meeting going on bring your own chair.
Great place to walk and take your best friend
Its a nice park, has a decent sized lake area with a water display in the center. It has a cool museum as you can learn about the camp and stuff that was there during the Indian wars. Very big also and plenty of area for all
Has the same play structures from when I was a kid not sure if that is a good or bad thing. Love the duck pond and the park has a cool history behind it. It needs some updating, however
Wonderful wildlife viewing, especially the birds.
Great park! Very big with lots to see. Visit the ducks and turtles at the pond, see the pecan orchards and Hardy village site, and visit the museum! Fantastic family park.
One our familys favorite parks
TL/DR: Easy, less populated, green, calm. Have a bike to show off, go to Rillito. The Rillito was very busy this morning with a lot of bicyclists. Doesnt leave a lot of places to just enjoy a walk and scenery. Fort Lowell Park is a perfect alternative. The pond here is an amazing morning walk: the turtles sun themselves on the edge of the pond and when they slip back into the water their little heads poke out and watch. Theres no feeding the ducks- a few signs around to help you remember. I could imagine thats why theres no too much bird poop around the edge of the pond. The benches here all have good shade in the morning. The sound of the fountain is so much better of an experience than the whirr clicking of all the expensive bikes in Rillito going too fast for pedestrians. The trees also deserve a mention. Tucson isnt the leafiest place. Agua Caliente Parks tree/pond experience on the eastside is what I expect from a park in desert. Reids pond- great park too- feels too engineered. The trees here at the pond at big, climby, and hella leafy. The kind of leafy that feels cool as you walk by it. Tucsonans know what Im talking about.
The park is a bit small, and the pond is probably my favorite place. The playground equipment DEFINITELY NEEDS an upgrade and some MAINTENANCE. But we still go to this park every week or so.
It is always a unique experience everytime we visit. There is always a group of people doing yoga, practicing casting lines, working out, etc. We frequently play pokemon go at this park. It is safe and we enjoy walking around. Our daughter loves the fountain. Lots of parking and it is always up kept.
Was great family experience
I really like this park as far as the space, its very pretty. The play areas for kids are great and I love taking my son to the the duck pond. My only complaint is that the pond is somewhat secluded so unless it is well populated I personally wouldnt take my son there. One other observant is that there are sometimes homeless people who live in the bench areas but Ive never had a problem with them though.
It was awesome, best park
Love this place. Lots of pokestops.
Played, coached and refereed many a soccer game thrre. 74-79
Great place to take a date for a walk
LOTS OF BIG TREES. but the weedy grass makes it very difficult to walk our dog. BURRS FROM THE WEEDS GET IN HER FiR AND THEN WE HAVE TO pull them out of her fur which is not exactly a pleasant thing for her or us.
The park is wonderful, but watch your step with the holes!
Lovely park could have a few more amenities.
We had a gathering of furries today for a potluck. It was a very pleasant location, the ramada was ample for our needs and had an electrical outlet. The only issue we had was that bees began to congregate in the later afternoon. The restrooms at the ramada appeared to be disused and locked, but there was another restroom across the way. The restroom was clean and tidy.
Great park to run/walk. Interesting museum! Also a duck pond!
Calm and soothing park with a pond, lots of birds and ducks, and a walking path with descriptive signs about the wildlife you may encounter. Nice place to go if you need a peaceful break. The park also has a community pool and baseball field.
Nice older park. Definitely needs some TLC and general repairs to restore it back to what it once was. Parking lot is in need of repairs, sealing and striping. The grass and paths are uneven and full of holes. However, overall it is a nice park.
Historic site with trails, good birding, and even a duck pond!
I like Reed park so much better, if you just have a little one and thats it, its ok
This is a nice park that needs a little more investment. Worth a stop by if you are in the area. Apache war history markers.
I grew up at this park! Awesome memories! A great place for a stroll!
This is a great park. Lots of different birds, including vermilion flycatchers and several species of water fowl. Also look out for the pocket gophers!
Very quiet these days
Nice little park for walking or birding. The pond attracts a nice variety of birds and ducks.
Great playgrounds for kids
Great nice quiet park. Just watch out for gopher holes!
Love pond and fountain feature
Very informative museum was very interesting artifacts and photos must see
Quiet place for a relaxation. Wildlife and pond/waterfall made this park a very nice place for a picnic. I did notice baseball fields around me though, so it probably wont be so quiet when theres a game going on.
Its a pretty nice park, however the bathroom area needs a lot of work! The toilet seats are dirty and when you go to put toilet paper down on the seat the wind blows it off! There is no soap or hand sanitizer and the sink and drinking fountain are salt ridden. It really could use some work! Theres also no baby changing station which is a surprise because there are kids everywhere!#BeBest Tucson #BeBest
Great place. And best NA meeting of the week at 11am under the tree on Sundays!
I’ve driven by this park for years and never knew how wonderful it was. I was nearby and googled parks to visit and this gem showed up. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it had this beautiful pond. I’m a busy city, this wonderful park silently sits and welcomes those lucky enough to know about it. It’s quite relaxing and pleasing and provides a much needed escape from the world that day. You owe it to yourself to find time to visit and escape life in the serene setting.
We love watching the ducks and turtles here. Also has fun play structures for kids.
This place is amazing! I never knew this park was so.awesome..highly recommend
The kids loved the ducks and turtles. Well kept up and no homeless during the time we went.
Really like this park. The old Adobe buildings gives this place a lot of character. Also nice to see large stretches of actual grass in the desert
Nice and clean
Looks light a nice place to kick back and chill
Ham radio club set up a portable station for a few hours to commemorate Old Fort Lowell. And a fun time was had by all...
Fort Lowell is a massive park showcasing monuments and ruins from Americas history. The park provides many courts and fields for various sports and outdoor activities. A nice walking path loops around the park bringing you to all of the important locations around the park. Also a great place for Pokémon Go, if youre into that sort of thing.
Went to a party for my friends son there recently. It’s very pretty! They have a small pond with ducks and turtles. Multiple covered seating areas. They take great care of the landscape and refuse removal. It was nearby to main roads but still pretty peaceful. I didn’t get a chance to go see the old fort, but I’m going to next visit! It’s a beautiful park for a picnic, or a gathering. Will absolutely go back!
A peaceful park with nice views and a duck pond.
Beautiful historic park has lots of space and a pond, some wildlife and nice grass. Little bit hard to get there, especially on buses. One thing I have an issue with are the holes. Ground is very uneven because of squirrel and other animal burrows, VERY easy to turn an ankle, please walk carefully if you visit here and avoid running through the grass, there are a lot of holes. I understand this isnt something people can exactly maintain, but it does pose a risk.
Great park for family and friends lots of things to do walk around with furry friends or. swim playgrounds soccer field. original building from when the land was used as a trading post and fort . Also for all the POKEMON PLAYERS plenty of gyms and pokestops to get
Nice park, lots of grassy areas to walk through. Plenty to see from the ponds with birds and turtles to the ruins and informative signs.
My Wife and I were married here and we are impressed with the updates theyve made in the 10 years since we got hitched. The kids love the info board that describes the birds in the area.
Very nice and clean park. Clean restrooms and family oriented park... Quiet and great Ramadas there too. I would love to visit again and again !!!
Quiet, clean, enjoyed sitting by lake watching wildlife.
Decent park. Kind of hard to get in and out of driving wise. Lots of parking and a pretty lake
Nice public park with a decent walking trail around its perimeter. Plenty of facilities, a decent child play area and enough parking give this central Tucson location my recommendation.
Great place to take the familia!
This park is so nice. Its calm, quiet, people friendly and the little lake is so cute. Full of turtles and ducks.
Great place to spend the afternoon with the family.
I wish they could have groundskeepers so huge kids and adults wont break the baby swings
