Great park at the top of a hill. You get fantastic views of South Torrance to downtown to the mountains. Small walking path, grassy area for kiting or kicking, nice new equipment for the kids, and the old iconic rocketship still stands. Refresh for a while.
If your new in town and are looking for a nice place to sit and watch the sunset. Check out this awesome view. Located in a quiet neighborhood. Even if your from the South Bay area I encourage you to give rocketship park a visit. You wont regret it. Who wouldnt want to miss out on the breathtaking Californias beautiful beaches and the awesome city skyline of Los Angeles.
So many family memories and teenage memories at this park. As long as you respectful of the local houses their neighborhood is great . The view from the top of the rocket to the view off the grass this will always be rocket ship Park
Great Park love to eat my lunch there and look over the city
So many memories here, one of the best views of South LA. Gorgeous skies at the end of the day, there are benches, trash cans, and a giant rocketship to climb into. Theres not much more you could ask for.
Amazing view at night. The rocket taken already.
Amazing view and very nice park :) don’t forget your jacket it’s windy ( top of the hill!)
A quaint little park, overlooking the city. The rocketship, though made for children, I traversed to the top and sat to watch the sun set.
I loved it! Very peaceful and safe and excellent views. Good for when its hot, since its close to the beach
Great view. Small park. Ppl follow the rules for the most part. Get there early. Shade is limited. No bathrooms.
What a view, you feel you are on top of the world. Nice place for outing or hiking. The kids well have a blast .
What a magical place. Its such a beautiful sight. The view of the city of los Angeles is incomparable. You can get different experiences by going during the day or at night. During the day theres children playing and the city can be seen in all its glory. At sunset its a beautiful ephemeral sight. At night the whole city is illuminated and flickering. You can see the ocean from here. Its the polar opposite point from the Griffith Observatory where you can get a similar view.
Picnic and/or sketch worthy view and space. Plus a dash of Freddy Kruger, cant go wrong. It has modern play equipment, but the Freddy area is definitely on the older side... Quite the contrast for being in the same playground. Located in a pretty nice neighborhood... The craziest thing Ive ever seen here is the occasional bud smoker (which isnt even that crazy).
Good place to have a good view with friends or family
I had a blast at the park. Its in a wonderful location. my four-year-old really liked it a lot. The kids seem to really like the Rocketship. I had to go inside and help my four-year-old a little bit to get up to the slide. I ended up getting inside and had to climb to the Second Story to get out as well. Just a warning the slide down is very fast and has a rough Landing. So for those of you adults careful. Enjoy yourself
It is soo pretty! You can see the beach from up there! Its a little windy and cold but other than that its a good place to go to. I would definitely recommend it.
Great views, a little chilly at times
They allow dogs so it my family and I had an awesome relaxing time!
Very beautiful view on the city lights and ocean its a delight and very tall so it is windy as expected
This is an amazing park with comfortable benches in place for enjoying the stunning view.
I wouldnt recommend getting on that rocket ship because it feels like its going to tip over, but also I am an adult so theres not that much to worry about
Its very peaceful and you can see everything
Great breeze and great place to watch the sunset
Nice park with a view of South Bay
It has a nice view towards Redondo Beach, Torrance, Carson, & LA,
Great Kids Park and Amazing View of LA.
Great lookout for Redondo Beach.
Apparently were not paying enough taxes to take care of our public parks. This place is run down. Picnic tables with terrible, peeling paint, grass that you cant even walk across without spraining an ankle, poorly maintained play equipment, its sad to see this neat little place so poorly looked after. It would have been 2 stars if not for the view.
Nice view and play area for kids
Beautiful view. Air is always crisp and fresh up here. Lots of grass areas to picnic or play.
Little gem of a park and family-friendly. Love the unique idea of putting a climbable rocketship in the park. A little small for adults, but dont let that stop you if youre curious. Getting to the top and just sitting there is so much fun. Youre just in this little rocket ship and at the top, overlooking everything. A cute place for a fun date, just take your date up there and you guys can just talk the hours away and bring some food to eat.
The views from this park are amazing and worth it. Its also a good park to bring kids, it has a nice setup and kind of lots to do. The view makes it ten times better. Even good to just come spend some time or have a picnic.
2nd favorite place, looks better at night, the view is so beautiful
Park with an incredible view of the South Bay and beaches. Parking is not too bad, you can easily find somewhere to park in the surrounding neighborhood. Very safe, clean, and peaceful. It can get a bit windy so I’d recommend a light sweater/jacket depending on the weather.
On clear days you can see all of Los Angeles.
We checked this place out after hearing good things from friends. Compared to other indoor playgrounds, this place is pretty pricey. It is $4.95 per adult. However, my kids played non stop for 3 hours. They would have stayed longer if we didnt carry them out. It was crowded on the Friday after Christmas, but my kids didnt really have to wait. There were plenty of different areas for my kids to try it. This place reminded me of the kids cafes that are all over South Korea. My one big knock on this place was that they didnt check our stamps to make sure we were taking our kids. Potentially, anyone could have walked out with our kids so PLEASE WATCH YOUR KIDS! Especially around the exits. Management should emphasize the importance of checking those stamps, since the safety of the kids should be of utmost importance. I will return as my kids really loved it, but I will constantly be watching my kids.
If you grew up in South Torrance you know where this is at
Great views and great atmosphere. Always a feel good moment when you got views on views.
Usually has a breeze or wind & even in the heat of summer it is cool, 95% of the time.
Kids love this park.
Best place to take the kids and enjoy the view. While the kids play, adults can enjoy the view
This park has an excellent view. It is clean and well maintained. The play structure is very cool. The upper most compartment of the rocket is not accessible. No public restrooms.
Great view but no bathroom
Nice park with nice scenic views!! Street parking available...no bathroom though
Very high interesting sight view of the city and the ocean... fantastic
It’s a amazing place with a a playgroung for the kids. There is perfect lookout of mountain and ocean. . Amazing retro playground rocket and lunar lander. Highly recommend it.
Excellent park with amazing views. Only thing missing is restroom. Great place for parties
Top Notch schools & park, gets windy...
Beautiful, Quiet, Small and Clean
Love this park. Great views of city and ocean.
This park Is built for every age to enjoy and to admire the craftsmanship that was built in this park.
Nice park, great scenery, but it doesnt have a safety wall that blocks anyone from falling off the cliff or accidentally sliding down it. Its on a hill. Kids and teens try to look down hill without supervision. The rocket ship climber is facing the cliff with no guard rail.
An amazing place with even better views. We had a blast!
Definitely a great spot
Amazing View
Wonderful view. If you come before sunset in a foggy day, you will have more fun in catching the fog.
My nephew and niece love this park, it has an amazing view and is very clean
This is a great park for kiddos or a stroll or even a date. The sights are amazing and its super clean all around
My neighborhood park for my whole life. Really sad so many of the trees are gone, and the hill is now comparatively bare, but still have great love for this park. One of my favorite spaces in the world. Ty
Great views. Benches. Parks. Get bchilly at night. Nice paths. Fun hill to skateboard. Modelo time
Great night time view over the city, cool playground
Beautiful views, one of my favorite places to go when I visit my hometown.
Beautiful view.
Great View just pretty small and theres no bathroom
After having ice cream at Handels, we drove up to check out the night view at Rocket ship Park. It was beautiful! Since the park is up on a hill we could see all of Torrances lights. My camera did not do justice to the actual view. It was very pretty with all the city lights below us and the moon above us.This is also the park where my daughter takes her cat during the day. Its clean, generally quiet and a wonderful place for a picnic or simple family outing.
My 8 yo loved it here. The views are scenic.
Beautiful view of the coast and Los Angeles, on top of the city
Go for the view, one of the best in SoCal!
My kids absolutely love this park and always ask me to go here. My only complaint is it can be very windy because its up on a hill. The view is the best part besides the rocket ship for the kids. Also swings and grassy lawn to picnic. Very quiet and not too crowded.
This is a great park for kiddos or a stroll or even a date. The sights are amazing and its super clean all around, well maintained park and unless you live our in the southbay you prob dont even know it exists. Hidden Gem!
View is quite breathtaking. There are many objects for kids to play with and adults have an amazing horizon to watch!
It is pretty cool! I was there in running club. The view up there is amazing and beautiful!
As a disclaimer, I was here with family from out of town, so this wasnt a normal park visit for me - I was preoccupied. I would give this 3 stars because there are no toilets, but it was quite busy in a weekday, so it gets 4 stars because so many people (my kids included) seemed to like it. Bear in mind - it is significantly cooler up there than down in Lomita, where we came from.
Sunsets
Nice view. Thats it.The rocket ship is pretty cool I guess.
Yall needa stop gentrifying such a spanish influenced place...its los arboles not the trees but over all nice view yts
Great park for kids, especially with the rocketship. The park was remodeled around a year ago, and is in great condition with relatively new playground equipment. They kept the iconic rocketship and moonlander durig the renovation, and they have not been touched. The upper park sand has been replaced with woodchips, while the bottom part where the rocketship and swings are still remains sand. The park offers great view of LA and Torrance in the evening, and is a great place to come and enjoy the view. The only con about this park, however, is that there are no bathrooms and its always very windy, but its worth coming to, for both parents and kids.
Beautiful views and a large play area for kids.
Amazing view and relaxing time
Great memories
The best views...of Space!
Theres two playground areas. The new equipment area, and the outdated rocketship area. But lets be honest, people go here for the view. The cliff has no gaurd rail to prevent little ones from falling (saw a guy bring his newly walking toddler up to the edge- one misstep and that would have been tragic). And theres no bathrooms, so not a good place to spend the day at the park with kids. The only reason Im not giving it one star is strictly because of the view. This is definitely not a park designed with kids and parents in mind.
A great place for kids and grandparents
Nice park. Lots of shaded areas great for picnics or to play a game of soccer or football. There is, of course, a rocketship for the kids to climb inside. 3 stories. First floor has slide. Above all, great place for kids, a picnic or just to take in the view.
Great view, take a blanket and some snacks...
A great little park with the Best view of the South Bay to the Santa Monica mountains. Kids love the adventure for a fun, climbing & playful family experience. The Park was the inspiration of our Southern CA Space Exploration community of the early 60s. Go explore it for yourself & Blast Off !
Perfect lookout towards both mountains and the ocean. New play structures for the kids are also good.
