This was an excellent place for a fun and simple family outing. What a beautiful and historic theater! They are working on renovating it but the glory has never left. Truly a real gem. Nice folks, great snack bar and what a neat idea. We were here for a showing of The Birds and we had a wonderful time!

It is such a beautiful building! The embellishments and attention to detail with so much still original! If you love old buildings it is a must see. My only complaint is that it was cold. The old theater seats are long gone so the event planners used folding chairs and there were a few tables. I know that it is a work in progress and will only get better, Ill happily go again!

The architecture of this place is Way Cool the Ambiance and Acoustics are just as awesome. Seems to lend itself better for Electronica and music type Productions rather than theatrical events however its fun no matter what and in a great location

Obviously your experience at the theater depends on what is on the stage, but so far I have nothing but good experiences. The Jayhawk theater is a nice bit of Topeka history and many of the shows at the moment are designed to be a service for the community.

Still pretty rustic, but the show was great. Be prepared as like in dress appropriate to the outdoor conditions. The existing HVAC is also rustic.

Entertainment was good. Venue is under remodeling which means no heat. 21 degrees outside. Froze. Dont know why you would schedule a concert with no heating. Felt sorry for the band.

Absolutely excellent venue. I attended for a metal concert to support the restoration of the Jayhawk. The sound inside is practically perfect, I would assume other types of concerts no mater the genre. The only downside I have to say is that the floors are slanted making it hard to sit in chairs that are not secured down.

I am loving the revitalization of this place and the new, reasonably priced shows to see. Swing Dance classes were great fun too.

Good old feeeling thatre. Has a lot of character, hopefully it gets restored. The seating, when I was there, was pretty basic and EXTREMELY uncomfortable to sit through an entire show. I would bring a pillow for the seat.

This historic venue for shows originally opened in 1926 as a vaudeville theater & movie palace. The board has been working to raise money for for restoration. A noble cause. It has a wide variety if small and large fundraisers to work toward the goal of being a functional venue again.

Its a really cool venue. Although unfinished, it has a really charming historic vibe that feels comfortable. There are bathrooms, working climate control, and plenty of space for events.
