Nice park next to the train tracks kinda fun to see and hear the trains. The kids enjoyed it.
Our 2nd time taking our 8 year old here and he absolutely loves it! We love how shaded and big the park is. He always makes friends and we always end up chatting with other parents. Very friendly atmosphere, but be careful of the entrance! The entrance area is very slick, Ive almost fallen and weve seen plenty of kids wipe out so just a forewarning.
I really like this park. It was very easy to access and allow my kids to play. The only downside to this park was the amount of homeless people & vagabonds in the nearby area which is sad as I was concerned for my kids safety. Besides that, we loved watching the trains. There is also bathrooms nearby.
Granddaughter had a blast. Kinda windy day but she loved it
This is a very fun and friendly place to take your kids to play with other kids.
One of the best playgrounds by far! Must see and enjoy
A wonderful park with many options to burn some off some of your kids energy lol
This is the coolest park I have ever seen!
Fun, beautiful, shaded park. So great to watch the trains go by!
My kids love this park. I wish we could take them here more often. They love to watch the trains come and go and there are a lot of things for them to do here. The misters are great during the summer and there are typically always other children for them to play with while theyre here. I would say the bathrooms arent always the best, but its a public park so its not something that will influence my rating overall.
Love it grandkids had lost of.
Whats better than playing at a playground with the ability to see real trains. The kids love it. Conductors even wave hi as they pass. The park is clean and has wonderful canopy of trees to block out the hot Texas sun
Very shady. Nearby trains rolling put add to the excitement of the large wooden playscape.
Nice shaded park with shaded picnic tables. Perfect for a play day with the kids!
Cool spot for the little ones. I had a good time exploring and sliding with my 3 year old son. Mulch is ground cover, seems softer and cleaner. Really good size with many levels, 4 or 5 different slides, monkey bars, rings, fireman pole, rocking balance beam.
This is my first and favorite park in the entire Temple area. Above Lions Park. It is safe because there is only one entrance to thile entire park and benches at the entrance that parents can sit on so they kids can have fun while the parents can relax. The entire layout of the park is very safe. Young kinds can walk all over the park because it is all mostly large wooden steps. The trains that go by from time to time always keeps the kids happy and excited too.
Good public park. Lots of areas for kids to play lots of climbing. Plenty of swings, tire swing is great.Good for variety of ages. Rope bridges, balance beams, webbed climbing nets, climbing walls, slides and wood chips on the ground for softer landings.Very close to the train tracks at the station (but not dangerously close), all the kids would stop playing as a train pulled up just to watch.Misters in different areas of the playground, great for keeping cool in the Texas summer. A good portion of the playground is shaded. If you have a little extra time the train museum is right next door, good little stop off, and its air conditioned.Bathroom on site
Good shade and the trains going by make it a fun park. Great for hide n seek!
Great place for the kids
Always a blast! Trains almost always blare the horn for the kids! Great spot for a family hang and picnic
Brought grandbabies there and they enjoy the big play space and while there they got to see the train do by
Nice relaxing He can to see the trains go by
Wonderful all abilities park.Mostly shady with lots of places to sit (if you ignore the bird poop). Train tracks are very close by which kids love, but it can get loud when heavy trains are moving through.Seperate areas for toddlers and big kids but there is no where the 2 yr old is afraid to go.Only 1 entrance/exit which is nice because it can be easy to loose sight if you have a few kids running round. No public park is perfect, but things are not broken, or dangerous. The bird poop comes with trees... annoying but, well, its nature! You can also stroll over to see the train station and another small park under the bridge. Lots of things to do and see to kill a few hours.
Great place to go with kids. Theres lots of good shade, and the trains run right by the park, so everyone can watch them as they go.
Nice place for a walk.
Great play area for kids of all ages. Offers real trains periodically going by for kids to enjoy viewing. Includes swings.
Great fun for the kids and a hot spot for PokéMon Go players.
Cute park, could use some work, some equipment is worn down. The restrooms need more attention.
Great playground for kids. Very open, explore and create kind of place without a lot of structured play toys like you see nowadays. Near downtown temple, so you do get some interesting crowds, but nothing scary.
Seriously the best park in Temple. Growing up around Austin as a kid, I grew up playing on the big wooden playground at Zilker Park, and this reminds me of that. Well shaded so its not too warm in the summer, and right next to the train tracks (safely behind a sturdy fence of course), which makes this great for anyone who likes trains.
Really enjoyed taking my son to see the trains an watching him play in the parks
Super Fun, age 1-up. Its simple log construction with lots of options for everyone. Handicap swings, slides, forts, balance beams, pic nic tables and restrooms.
Such a cute place for the kids.. we loved it so much, we celebrated our son’s second birthday there.
All the new work / construction they are doing is amazing !
Nice large park with a fence around the whole thing where you play. So little ones can be more independent. Go have fun
This is my kids favorite park. They love it! I like how it is built of wood. You dont see many parks like it.Then have a section for toddlers and then the bigger section for older kids. They also have the big red high back swings that are good for kids that might need some extra support.Trains frequently go by. If your kids stand by thr fence and wave the conductor/engineer (?) will usually wave and blow his horn.
A clean and nice place to sit and watch the trains, but not much else to do there.
Great park, gotta be the best around the Temple area. Very secure for the kiddos.
Cant wait until its completely finished with the renovations.
This park is perfect for all ages. I have a 2 year old and a 12 year old. They both love it! Although I posted pics where it was empty, it was full of kids of all ages within 20 minutes. You can easily spend an hour here and it feels like 10 minutes. Im a heavy woman, and I was even going all over this park and down the slides. Again, fun for ALL ages!
Good place to take your kids and burn off some energy.
Great area for both playing and learning for children.
This is a great park. Very clean and well maintained. My toddler loves is and I like the fence around the play area. One way in and put helps me watch my little one. Great for anyone who likes trains
Fun place for young and young at ️ shady places to sit and enjoy a picnic or to watch your kiddos running from the swings to the climbing tower. You can also view the many trains going by.
Great place for the kids to come and play. Sides for both little & bigger kids. Easy access to bathrooms and water fountains. Fun to watch all the different trains chug by and honk!
Really nice and shady fun for the kiddos
Too much bird poop everywhere. Did not feel safe for small children.
Quick stop for the kids to run around before winding down for the day.
Great place for the kids
Nice park but could use a good power wash in some places.
Cool place to hang out and get your thoughts right
Trains and more trains.
Its a good park, needs a little refurbishment. Kids and time have wore it out. But overall its great for kids, lots of seats for adults !
Great place... lots of fun for the kids.... great way to create memories!
Our families favorite park.
Fun park lots to do! Kids never get bored.
A great place to go for STRESS RELIEF.
Was just passing thru and found this to be a very beautiful place
The grandkids loved this place its all shaded would definitely go back
Stopped to smell the ROSES of life with grandchildren and great grandchildren
Great place for my kids
This park is so fun!! It is loud and the two times we’ve been, super windy! But I love love the old style and there are tons of things for kids to do and explore. It is also fenced which I really like, because you can keep track of you little ones easier.
Nice for my great grandchild she loved it
Nice creative fun park.
Small but nicely kept with large play area for children and a public restroomIf you like railroad locomotives the park is a must see with a multitude of idling BNSF locos and BNSF trains running through.Nice pit stop for the pups.
Neet little park clean and a good place for all ages.
Great place to spend with the kids and have a picnic, but the restroom is nasty.
Great playground for kids. Very open, explore and create kind of place without a lot of structured play toys like you see nowadays.
Been there a few times to sit and eat lunch, its quiet there.
I love whistle stop because almost everyone i spend anytime with plays pokemon go & there are plenty of pokestops & the ex raid gym here. Not to mention the playground for the kids is huge & they always have so much fun. & when the kids need the restroom we dont have to leave. The bathrooms are the nicest ive ever seen at a public park.
Just off W. Central and S. 11th street. Central is one way going east. Turn right on S. 11th just as you cross over the railroad tracks, easy to miss. If you go too far, turn right at the next intersection and then right on W. Ave A. The park is small but very charming! Large fenced playground with much for kids to play on and enjoy. Two covered pavilions with barbeque grills. The park seems never crowded. Great location to watch the trains and adjacent to the railroad museum and Amtrak station. Temple does a fine job with parks and walking trails, citizens should be proud.
Not the cleanest, some of the equipment is a bit worn, but the kids had fun
My son liked the layout.. And we enjoyed our time there
Excellent little park with only one entrance. Dedicated tot spot, several slides and relatively clean. Fun watching the trains roll by
Kids love it what else is there to say
Fun place
Attended my cousins wedding here and it was beautiful!! Planning on coming back to visit real soon!!!
What an incredible park! So full of play areas and I absolutely loved the fact that it is enclosed with one entryway! What an incredible place to let my kiddo run free and he did not get bored even after a few hours. Their toddler area with the find the shapes game even had his attention, and hes definitely past toddler :) It is lovely that the natural trees throughout the park create nice shaded areas and there was just so much to see and do... loved it. Even having to follow the Amtrak detour signs to get to where the parking was, which at first was a little confusing... it was well worth the visit.
Bathrooms looking really good.
CUTE
My 4 year old absolutely loves to play on the playground here and the nearby trains. We adults love it for the high concentration of pokestops which lead us to the playground to hang out and relax while my little one plays. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Really like this park that it is shaded and easily accessible
LOTS of great toppings. Actual yoghurt was meh.... Only two employees in the store at my 6pm visit. One was, I guess on break just sitting at one of the table and the other was so lively I honestly expected her to greet me with, Welcome to Costco. I love you.
Went for a birthday party, we have always enjoyed letting the kids play there. Thanks for keeping in clean, the restrooms are clean and nice.
I love this park, I wish drug users werent using the bathrooms for drug parties all night.
Perfect place to bring kids of all ages!
Very nice park, family had a fun time!
It was great except the fact the bathrooms where locked
Great place to take kids...even older kids.
