What an experience... we rented paddle boards and kayaks and had the best time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They made us first timers feel comfortable and at ease. This was our favorite thing we did. It was not difficult and so much fun. The water was cold for when we went but I can imagine going when the waters perfect. AHHH! Dont miss out...add this to your itinerary!
Its pretty quiet around sun up on a Sunday. Nice though; around this time of year its really quite pleasant, weather wise. I wasnt with anybody, so theres no memories to be spoken of. It was nice to bike there I guess.
I have driven by this park numertime over the years but never took the time to stop. I helped out at an event this time, which gave me a great opportunity to check it out.Very impressive! Lots of boats to rent, places to walk or ride a bike to or just sit and people watch.
Nice location, wasnt easy to park, I feel like that could be made easier, better parking routes. Also public restrooms werent clean. We went to the boat rental after which was relaxing. Its too bad you cant swim there but understandable.
Very beautiful location. Great for walking and hanging out. Rode some electric scooters around and had fun.
Arguably one of the best places to ride ebikes as there are so many available & different routes. You can just putz all around the lake and Mill Ave. Or take the path along the south side of the lake east to Tempe Marketplace and into Mesa to Riverview Park and beyond. Or take the north side of the lake into Scottsdale parks and all the way to 96th st and Shea. Or split off at Silverado golf course clubhouse and go SW along the canal through Scottsdale Waterfront, into Papago Park and back into this park as a fun loop. So many stops and side treks available along the way. Even close enough to go see Arizona Falls and Echo Canyon and back if you have good range of 30 miles or so.
So much fun!!!! Tons of things to do here! Rented a paddle boat for an hour, an electric scooter, and walked to A Mountain and back, and enjoyed some leisure time on the grass in the shade for a bit! Make sure you bring your sunscreen because youll probably end up staying longer than planned! Had a wonderful family day!
Went to fish around sundown. Caught 2 nice bass. Saw lots of beautiful people but not to crowded. Great spot to take in a sunset with or without your other half.
I love visiting the lake however it was very busy - I counted five people wearing masks and people were not practising social distancing. Very disappointed in peoples respect for others.
Great outdoor area for exercise, scenery, river walking, biking, paddle boat rentals and more. Relaxing area for being in the heart of the city
Soo I hadnt been since the crash but it was well worth the wait. The new lights give it a more LIVELY vibe. Still my favorite place to chill.
Tons of things to do at this park. What a great way to spend time together as a family and remain active. The only negative thing was the lack of parking.
It’s a beautiful place but poorly managed and maintained. Electric scooter everywhere and occupying the walking trails. It makes walking difficult and dangerous for kids. People are smoking and using drugs. I smelled weed everywhere when walking in the park. Bathrooms are disgusting. It’s not kids friendly and not a safe place to go at night. It’s unfortunate because there is such much potential in this place. I hope the city and invest more money on managing the park.
Beautiful park has peddle boats that my family and I enjoyed especially at night with the beautiful lights . They also have 4 seater and I believe 6 seater bikes that are also fun . My husband and I took are 1 and 4 year old and they loved it .
I ain’t joking when I say you can rent PEDAL BOATS here. Such a amazing and wacky park.
The park was nice a lot of people, but not to crowded. It was nice weather and the park was very clean. The only issue was trying to find a parking spot.
Omg this place is fanastic. It was peaceful and relaxing. Its a best place to go one a first date. The people were amazing they took the covid guidelines strictly which made ne feel safe.
We went to the boat parade, and let me tell you, we werent disappointed!!!! What a fantastic night, enjoying all the individuality in the decorations of each boat. All the families that came out to watch the spectacular parade of lighted boats decked out in the Christmas spirit were definitely delighted.
Great place.... Fun to walk with my kiddos. Have since they were little... And in my college years (2004-2008) ! ️
Great family attraction. No one was wearing masks tho. My parents and I did the entire time. It was so fun to explore the area. Definitely renting a boat next time.
Great park ride bike and running walking paddle boarding kayaking row
Had a nice walk along the lake last night and this morning. A few spots were flooded due to the heavy rains this past week, but nothing you couldnt walk around. Had some beautiful views of Tempe and Down Toen Phoenix.I think this is a great place to visit. My only concern is the people speeding by on the electric scooters. Man they go whipping by.
Beautiful beach park in the heart of Tempe. So many things to do,- take a walk on the pedestrian bridge - use scooters, skates or just brisk walk around the lake.- so many kinds of boating in the lake,- Tempe art center with beautiful infinity fountain .- At night, it lights up best.Checkout yourself and feel the atmosphere.
Wonderful place to take the family andor visitor from out of town to enjoy some Tempe Arizona fun and beauty
Went skating around the lake. Sidewalks are very smooth & very little debris. Well lit paths. Good endurance training.
I wish Tempe Beach Park was open later into the night because of how cool the bridge looks lit up at night. However going around during the day is beautiful. Nice area to walk around or to jump on a boat and sail around.
Tempe Beach Park and Tempe Town Lake are adjacent to one another, located in downtown Tempe, Arizona, not far from Downtown Phoenix and Sky Harbor International Airport. You can take a tour of Tempe Town Lake on a Segway or rent various kinds of personal watercraft for some urban recreation.Visit over weekend afternoon, you can enjoy your day till night.Enjoy an afternoon out around the beautiful Tempe Town Lake. Here you can have a picnic, take a leisurely bike ride (rent a bike at The Bicycle Cellar), or rent a boat or paddle board. Keep a look out for all the great festivals, concerts, and runs that take place at the Lake.
My daughter likes when I bring her here so did she can get out of the house and socialize and pet all the puppies
Great place to walk. Lots of families enjoying the park and social distancing. Kids enjoying the scooters.
It was me and my daughters first time out here by the water..We had a great little.
A Beautiful night out at the park, families, kids, boy friends girl friends, old people and young, all out for a walk or just people watching. Great place to go and visit.
A very cool spot to walk around in Tempe. Beautiful lake and scenery. Great place to ride your back and just look out onto the water.
It seems like a nice place to go to catch your breath when I drove through I had no problem just passing through and it looked like there was plenty of parking
Nice Open areas. Scooters to ride on. Bike path. Paddel boats and fishing boats to rent for the hour. Nice places to sit and visit.
Great park to walk in or you can also rent s paddle boat or canoe
Huge area with lots to do in the area. Scooter rentals, bikes, a little business where you can rent kayaks, paddle boats, stand up paddle boards and more. Decent pricing, they offer a military discount and great location for everything in the area.
Awesome architecture, smoother than normal trails around the lake lots of people watching:) its always the place I bring people to relax and enjoy the view
Great place to chill and hang out with friends. Offers boating and fishing spots. Nice trails for hiking and walking.
Great park. Beautiful town, city.Vacation from Illinois
Beautiful scenic park with a great feel that almost helps you forget your in the city. Great attractions with adventure rentals that include small paddle boats, kayaks, paddle boards and, other toys for the water, plus bikes, scooters and a variety of other things for both lands and lake. Theres also a park near the water walking, jogging and, hiking trails near by as well as plenty of picnic space rooms of restaurants and coffee baristas for the day and a great deal of places to go if your into the night life. Also there are always cabs, ubers, Lyfts, near by along with the orbit a free local bus the valley metro city bus station and 2 lightrail stations if youd rather not drive or decide on free parking and have to travel a small distance! Really a great place for all occasions. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars were the areas that were filled with drug addicts and homeless people look as if they were being neglected on the up keep. Just because people are down and out and sick to one area Id the park doesnt mean they shouldnt clean that area. I mean at least there arent in every area Id the park help them out a little and help clean up that is park services job after all right.
Watch out for bike riders! They do not slow down to pass pedestrians!
Beautiful view and not ever too many people there. deffiently my favorite place when you want some scenery or a place to walk around, i had bough some icecream from a local truck and had a nice walk around the lake 10/10
Its a nice get away for a stroll. Wish people would clean up after themselves so we could really enjoy it.
It was fun walking around the park.I enjoyed the grass, seeing the dogs.I discovered the sand thats past the bridge.
Love this place! College student, elderly, have kids?No problem! Theres so much to enjoy, clean beautiful surroundings, grassy areas, pet poopy pick-up bags stations, gorgeous view of Tempe town lake, rainbow lighting as you watch the metro trail glide by, surrounded by beautiful architecture, you can ride scooters, roller blade, run, jog, canoe, rent bikes and or scooters, enjoy a nice walk at literally any hour of the day!
The Tempe Beach Park was a wonderful place to go for a bike ride. Quick tip for those individuals as naive as us: check the temp before you go, especially in August. It’d pry be helpful to know that it’s a hundred and fifteen degrees Fahrenheit or so outside. Incurring heat stress is not a fun ordeal btw.
A great place to take the family. Large sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge that goes over the lake. Scooters, bicycles, and various kinds of boats available for rent.
Had lot of beautiful memories here. Very nice place for a stroll.
Beautiful park. Clean and nice. There is no beach for sure tho.I love walking around it. Its right next to Mill Avenue. There are a lot of events happening in this park throughout the year.5 stars
Nice outdoor space for the whole family
This is nice place to spend evening. Nice view..Good boating options on rent.
Tempe Town Lake is a super cool place to go for a stroll, ride bikes or scooters, paddle boarding, or renting a paddle boat.I kinda wish they did more to keep it clean, i.e. dead fish & trash floating around but for the most part its pretty cool.Lots of loons & ducks. They removed the splash pad.Definitely recommend for a few hours out on a nice Az day!If you enjoyed this review or found it helpful PLEASE give it a LIKE!
Kind of a dirty place...concrete needs a good power wash...grass could use some t.l.c. The lake is ok...but not real pretty. Parking is hard to find on a Sunday afternoon...but at least its free.
Fun and family friendly! Lots of stuff to do and outdoorsy! Rental motor scooters and paddle boats and everything!!!
This is the ideal place to take a stroll, ride a bike, rent a boat etc for tourists and students of Arizona State University. Just gotta appreciate the surroundings when you live in a hot AF desert state
Busy place all hours. Lots of families, scooters and fun.
Excellent. A must go if you staying a couple of days in Phoenix for work or pleasure. Great to jogging and to walking around, enjoy the breeze at night and the great views. Its a nice space of aprox 2 miles in total. I loved it, great for recharge energy and work out.
Love to see the night lights and all the residents riding walking skating and just sitting enjoying the view
Totally cute place to bring the family to get out. If you are a SD transplant, this is an amazing place to be near the water again.
We love this place. We love coming to ride the electric scooters along the lake and even the rental double bikes where we can even fit out daughter right in the front basket type seat. Next we plan on renting a water craft.
Was GREAT. First time on a paddle boat.
Personally this is a great park... I enjoy Tempe more than any city in Arizona... The genre is diverse among old town, ASU is an amazing college, and honestly its a really great place to hang out on Friday and Saturday evenings and into in wee hours of the morning..
A bit small for a parking lot, but the area for walking, biking and just hanging in a park area makes up for it.
I love to walk here. Seeing the Salt River and Tempe Center for the Arts. Get some fresh air. It’s nice to do activity with friends and family.
Nice lake you can rent paddle boats electric boats paddle board you can fish nice trail around the lake for jogging biking
We had so much fun at the innings festival this year! We flew in from Denver to see Dave Matthews and the venue did not disappoint. The VIP section had easy access to clean restrooms and bar. The sunset view with the planes coming in was gorgeous!
We had a really great time here. Bonding, inner child euphoria, sunbathing and cartwheels ️
Crowded. Lines and people stand right next to you for a freaking picture like hello ur in Myspace! Step back!
Great park, well maintained and has the nearby boat/bike rental really amplifies the spot.
Lovely park to spend time and morning walk. I went there this morning and could not resist myself walking around for hours. The majestic view of the salt river is awesome.
I enjoyed watching and feeding the different aquatic birds..
Love just walking thru here. Kinda calming
We had Our 1st of many 2nd Generation Gathering Group meet upAt The park today it was really cool .Lots of People all around
Tempe Beach Park is a great place to catch some fresh air. It has a great walking and biking path that runs right along the lake water front and has large grass lawns to sit and relax. There is a rental shop on the lake that rents boats, kayaks, and paddle-boards. Tempe Beach Park is quite large, so Id recommend downloading the app, Avem, to help you discover and find different park amenities.
OK but lake water was warm and murky. In college we all used to meet under the bridge, somebody would bring a keg, there would be a camp fire, it was a party. Now there is a big lake... I guess its an improvement as it looks nicer. But dont go in the water.
Very calm place to sit and have your good own time. I always go here whenever I need peace of mind.Nice view and there are lot of bikes to use within the park.Good time to visit is during sun set or may be around 6 PM during spring and after 7 during Summer. If you are a photographer, make sure to have your stand for pretty good long exposures!Cheers
Very clean and relaxing place to go with many things to do.
May were walking and or riding bike enjoy life even with covid-19
Always an amazing experience. People watch, sit by the water, have lunch, rent a watercraft. Bring a blanket
Great place for a stroll. You can rent kayaks and paddle boats. Lots of great spots for a picnic. Some areas had lots of dog poop that their owners didnt clean up. Some spots, especially those near the businesses were kept very clean, with green grass, shade and nice water fountains.
Great place as a departure point for a walk, run or renting a boat. Ample parking - but does fill up during peak times. Nice enough park if you just want to hang out.
Wonderful place!
My kids had a great time. Very well maintained park.
Aloha! Tempe beach park is where everyone hangs out during the weekends. It’s clean and well maintained. It’s the spot of the finish line of many marathons and events. Located just across Tempe Downtown it’s a great place to spend time with family then eat at the plenty restaurants in town. It also has beautiful scenery of the river and bridge.
Fun park, lots of different toys to play on the water with. Sadly, a fair bit of trash all around. People just apparently cant pick up after themselves...
So fun. Great way to spend a hot summer night.
Amazing place.. especially for sunsets.Summers also has paddle boats, paddleboards etc.Great place to just sit, listen to some tines and enjoy a good book
Great place for a walk or just to Relax and rent a paddle boat with family.
I love coming here to take a walk with my wife and rent the scooters to cruise around.
Tempe Beach Park. One of my favorite places to go in Tempe. Its just off of Mill avenue and it is a great place for a stroll sometimes theres awesome events that are there. They also have free parking. Unfortunately this sometimes means that it is packed and completely full so you cant park there. But if you know youre way around there is a parking spot on the other side of Tempe Town lake that usually has plenty of spots. Its just under one of the bridges. Overall just a really great spot.
Its very spacious and fun. There are scooters and bikes you can rent. You can skateboard and bring your kids and family here. Sports are fun here and great for running.
Its a nice place to take the family to play, relax, people watch and stuff!
Whenever I am in AZ, i love to visit this mesmerising fantasy...a place of joy for all ages!
Went during the Tempe 4th of July festival. Lots of activities, vendors, and live music. Great 45 minute firework show and a military flyover. Besides holidays, Tempe beach park is a nice little park on the waterfront in downtown Tempe on the main thoroughfare. Plenty of grass, some trees and every water sport rentals.
Nice place to go walk, relax and take pictures . My children love to go there and run around all over
Love this park! Probably 1 of THE best places in the valley to spend the day! Great for biking, picnics, and water recreation. Love it!!
Beautiful weather. Amazing views.
Nice the Tempe Town Lake definitely a wonderful place to take a nice jog. Or if you want to go for a nice walk and clear your mind
