Been wanting to stop by here for a very long time, and finally got the chance. They just moved locations a few months ago so they’re still setting up, but you can see it’s going a great direction. Basically I’m pretty new for this fishes and aquarium stuff I hav 0% knowledge. I did a google search and I found this store.. with pretty good reviews.. so I decided to go and buy fishes. But one thing I hav to say I really had pretty bad experience with the ppl working in the store.. I told them I hav 0% knowledge so can please help on some stuff. The guy was not even showing interest on customers.. he just told me buy this buy that and he disappeared.. and again I started finding other guy .. for my help.. no one care about me dude.. Even it’s pretty difficult to find a guy and ask for help in that store .. Ya I can understand they might be busy all day.. but for a business man each and every customer is important right.. more importantly ppl like who don’t hav knowledge on fishes and aquarium stuff, basically I’m newbie.. should give more information and make them interest .. Hmmm I donooo, owner of this store place keep eye on your employee.. etc.,

Awesome store! I go here to get my tanks and supplies! They always have the best prices on tanks and gravel and there is never any leaks in the tanks. They are super friendly here too and sometimes throw in free stuff! I have gotten my Lucy Axolotl here as well and he is very healthy and they were knowledgeable on the Axolotls!

The new location is even better than the original. Best selection of used aquariums and equipment around at great prices- definitely the place to start for a new or upgraded setup! Always interesting fresh and saltwater fish and super freshwater shrimp.

Discount always has great prices and helped me move my 150 gallon tank fish and all. There was not a single fish lost and I have sensitive fish like Moorish Idols. My go to shop for equipment and advice. Thanks guys your the best.

I think some of the reviews were pretty harsh. I was not greeted right away but there was only one guy working and he was busy so that was not an issue for me at all. The organization wasnt HORRIBLE but I could see what some people were talking about. I was impressed by the quantity of used tanks they had on stock regardless if they were sparkling clean or not. My only disappointment was the selection of live fish. This store definitely seems to favor more of the equipment side of things. I didnt buy anything today but will be back soon to see if the store is making improvements.Edit: I have heard so many positive things about this shop through the fish community that I raised my review to 4 stars and am going to try this shop again.Final Edit: After giving these guys a second chance, I stand corrected for misjudging them. If you had an experience like I did at first where you were not too sure, give these guys another shot. You wont be disappointed.

Great store for Aquarists!! Chris and Dave gives great advices on fish, coral etc. great deals from equipment to live stocks. Got my clowns, blue tang, goby from here and all healthy. Will be coming here regularly.

If youre a cheapo but like high quality stuff like me, then this is the place to go. You can really score some good deals here. Been here a few times now and the people working were always friendly and helpful. My only issue is on weekends when they get slammed, that its hard to tell whos working and whos a customer since everyone is wearing casual clothing, but after waiting a few minutes someone came and helped me out. Yes, this place is a bit cluttered, but its expected considering what theyre doing. Its unreasonable to expect everything to look like an Apple store, least of all a fish store that sells used equipment.

I think this is one of the best places to get fair deals on used equipment. I buy here frequently and the staff is always super helpful. if your looking to try the aquarium hobby out, do yourself a favor and check this place out... buying new is silly for first timers, by used, start small and work your way up. Chris and his staff can help you do that.

Chris, JD and Dave are hands down the best. Dedicated customer for years but today they definitely came through when I needed a tank moved last minute.Also, this place is girlfriend approved! This is the only store I can send her to to get RODI, bless her heart she always asks for saltwater but they know better. Also, she never complains about the budget cause they always save me serious cash with great pricing on new and used products!Love these guys to death!

It’s not the cleanest place, nor is it a place I would buy fish, but every city needs a store like this. Well priced used hardware that has allowed me to play around with the hobby without hurting my wallet too much.

Good prices varies things not a place to go for regular fish supplies unless youre willing to look for it however, the tanks are very well priced and the people seemed pretty helpful.

I love this place, Chris and David are awesome guys. Excellent store for both new and and used aquarium products. Whenever I need a part for my reef aquarium, I always check with them first. Guaranteed best prices! On top of the great selection and price, They also accept used equipment for store credit. Every time I upgrade a part, I give my used equipment a good clean and bring it to them for fair credit that I can use for more upgrades or livestock. I honestly wouldnt be able to afford and enjoy this hobby if this store didnt exist. Thank you for helping aquarists on a budget have a chance to obtain and use high end equipment!

Worst fish/aquarium store Ive ever walked into. Every single tank in there is absolutely filthy. As well as the entire surroundings of the store. Theres barely any walking room, it is a cluttered mess of dirty, old, used empty tanks. As well as supplies lying around everywhere. The stuff that is for sale is also in complete disarray. I wouldnt buy any supplies from here, let alone anything live. A real shame. I also walked around the entire store for about 10 minutes and not one person acknowledged me or even asked if I needed anything. A filthy, messy place.

My favorite fish store by far. Chris got me into fish tanks and helped me out for over 6 years. Really great place for people starting out in the hobby. Also great for the more experienced! I have no complaints when it comes to the store. They’re all selfless individuals. They are focused on the hobby and don’t care to pressure you into buying something you don’t need! It’s a great place for buying or trading new and used equipment. Great selection of used tanks. This is a perfect place for someone getting into the hobby or on a budget. Like anything you buy for your aquarium new your used clean it thoroughly.

I’ve found my huge peacock bass Lima shovel nose big beautiful frontosas along with huge discus tons of beautiful tanks for 1/3 of the prices and the best food for the best price in the valley. I totally understand the good and bad reviews. This place is a real gem in the heart of plastic-town. If you want a pretty store with regular retail prices, this is not the place for you. If however, you are looking for a no-frills, great place to get friendly advice and much lower prices, this place is great. I agree that the owner can be a bit defensive at times, but thats because he takes great pride in his shop. The place might look a little dirty, but its not! If you look closely, its actually very well cared for. If you visit, have a little patience as someone will get to you and give you the same undivided attention the person before you is receiving. I recently bought a test kit, new aquarium starter bacteria, and 5 fish. All for under $200! A month later, my tank is balanced (nitrate=0, nitrites=0, ammonia=0) and my fish are all healthy. Happy customer.

Very knowledgeable staff. As per their name, this is a discount operation where people who dont ever quite get into the aqua sphere can donate all their used aquariums and related fishy paraphernalia. But because of their no frills approach a huge savings gets passed onto you! You can tell by the excellent condition of the salt water fish and especially the corals that are thriving, that these people know their fish keeping. Nothing depresses me more then seeing starving or sick fish in an aquarium and in a place that sells them this should not exist. Here I saw no sign of any ill specimens! I highly recommend this store for both value for your money and great advise!

We stopped in there an hour before they closed just to price some things as we are looking to start a tank. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. Even those of our kids had. Excited to set up our new tank :-)

Great store. I went just to check it out as something to do on Sunday. I have been passively looking for a tank after recently moving to the area. Ended up seeing a well priced used tank and pretty much bought a whole setup, because the prices were so good.The guys were very knowledgeable, honest, fair, and friendly.

This place was pretty sad looking. I honestly just think they get old tanks from people, stick the old fish in a random tank and try and resell everything.If you like trying to find truffles, you may find one here if you dig enough. However, if you care about the treatment of your fish before you buy them, checking alternatives may be the better plan.

This is a great store the owner Chris is a good person always tries to help people find what they want and need for their aquarium fair on pricing the to go to spot for used equipment and livestock at a low price been a customer of his for over 12yrs now since before he had a shop I dont mind driving the 45 plus minutes it to takes to get there when I know Im getting good service and what I want at a fair price highly reccomend this shop 5 stars for me!! The guys at discount aquarium are knowledgeable and helpful they got my tank back to where I like it full of life as well as color. Now for the best part it didnt cost a arm and a lag not to mention the choices they have for exotic fish. I highly recommend them to everyone because the people there are real with you and helped me fix many mistakes other pet stores didnt let me know I was making. . . One of many carpet anemone in my small bio cube. Thanks to discount I have beautiful bubble anemones with clowns and the family has never been happier looking at our tank. I came into this place looking to buy some fish for my tank. It was on the weekend and the place was not crowded at all. I walked around for about 10 minutes and not a single person asked if I needed any assistance. So what like any person would do I just walked out. I then went to the Cichlid shack and got my fish.

Excellent knowledgeable staff!!! Everyone My Husband and I spoke with here is amazing. They really know there stuff. There was a incident yesterday where we brought our tank in to be drilled unbeknownst to any of us, the glass was tempered so it shattered. The staff was nothing beyond excellent. They fixed the issue with a replacement with out hesitation. That just shows the type of staff that is there. They genuinely care about their Customers. They didnt have to do what they did, and we are so grateful for them. Thank you Guys so Much. You Rock!

Honestly Ive been to MOST not all, but most, aquarium shops in Arizona. This one is.. okay for used equipment, while their equipment looks like it was never cleaned its also used so cant really complain too much. Fish & corals are a complete no go for me, lots of dying fish, a clownfish with obvious deformities that they were still selling (by obvious I mean his eye & eye socket was almost the size of his body.) But I gotta say, the guy was helping another guy take a tank out and still nodded and greeted us. But.. husbandry is obviously lacking so they get one star. Sorry.

I have nothing but good things to say about the owner Chris Klein I’ve been going to discount aquariums since I moved here from New Orleans Louisiana I learned and picked up Lots of knowledge from him.On some occasions they are extremely busy but at the same time I never found them to be uncompliant and unwilling to help a customer .....

They did have decent prices and many things to choose from. However, the store is very cluttered and hard to navigate. There were also quite a few noticeably sick fish that were for sale. We were greeted, but not offered any help while we were browsing with several employees pushing past us. I may be back for supplies, but I will not ever purchase live fish here.

I was recommended to check out this place for my backyard pond parts and fish. The staff here is very knowledgeable and very willing to help you make sure you get the right parts and know what you need to know. I will for sure be coming back here for the great prices and knowledge for the future. I ended up picking up a UV light and new pump for my pond along with some new fish.

I absolutely love this place. We like to come in just to see what they have in stock. Awesome people with tons of knowledge. Fair prices on buying and trading in. If it wasnt for this store I dont think I would be able to afford the set ups I have currently.

This fish store is not a showroom, but dont let that fool you into thinking you cant find what you need. They have likely the widest selection of used equipment in the state, and at really awesome prices as well. Their coral selection is not as wide as other stores, but their fish stock is quite larhe since they have a rather large location. The employees and Chris are super helpful so dont be afraid to ask for anything.

Got a used tank for reptiles here. The guy working was very helpful and even helped me put it in my car with a smile on his face! This place has a great selection and great prices.

Very disappointed, we were never once spoken to by the staff, not even when we got shoved out of the way of looking at their fish by an employee with no apologies or even an acknowledgement that we were there. Not to mention multiple fish were clearly sick, the freshwater tanks looked to have Ich all over the fish. Decaying shrimp/fish being eaten by other fish. The final straw for us was when we saw the big dead cockroach in the front when we were trying to look at they’re tanks. I am not a competitor and I have nothing against this business, this was just my experience.In response to what the owner has replied, I wrote this review as my honest experience. I do not work at an aquarium store, I actually was really excited to go to your store but the experience was awful. Some advise for you, negative reviews are meant to help the business learn from their mistakes and unhappy customers, not to attack them and accuse them of working for another aquarium store. Not everyone is out to attack you.

Went to several Aquairums hunting a blue, white or marble ramshorn snail. These guys were the only ones who stocked it. The service was quick and polite and their fish stock was impressive. I highly recommend coming here for your aquatic needs.

Great selection of used equipment, especially when it comes to tanks, filtration, and the likes. Staff is friendly, and very helpful with questions, decent prices, and a huge selection for the size of the store. While I go for the freshwater room (which despite its size carries more variety than PetCo/PetSmart), and the equipment, they seem to have a huge selection of marine stock.Recently purchased some angelfish, and after a week they are healthy and thriving. Will be making this my new go-to store.

The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable. They have great deals on new and used equipment, and gave me some great advice on setting up my first sump filter. The store is clearly high volume and is a bit messy/cluttered, but I didnt go there to see a pristine place I sent to get a deal. I highly recommend you check them out.

Pros and cons to this store. When it comes to used aquariums and supplies this store cant be beat. Ive bought several items from them and am pleased with the purchase. Reasonable prices and will haggle a little on price. The staff in store were nice every time Ive been. However the individual running the responses in this review section is a piece of work accusing individuals who leave bad reviews of working for rival aquarium stores lol. The reason for the 4 star rating comes from the fish themselves. The last few times I went I had no issues with the fish. However this last time was rough I saw several dead Bettas in tanks, one torn in half and wedged into a intake filter. I saw several fish feeding on a small clown knife that had died. And a royal blue Tang with half its tail missing and some rotten spots. Now I dont know if they took in the Tang that way so that could be excusable and I think the clown knife could be as well. However several of those Bettas had been dead for an extended period of time. If you need supplies or used equipment come here. For stock I would recommend Aquarium Arts or Artistic Aquariums a lot cleaner and nicer stores with less equipment options but way more stock and healthy fish for sale.Response to owner: Whole purpose of a review is to help other people determine if said business can fit their needs/has what they are looking for, and if they can trust the business. My review is to help other people who are looking for Aquarium supplies and livestock. I feel as if your store can contribute to that and is a solid store. However i feel like if they want livestock there are better options, so to help someone in search of livestock I see no problem with that. It could have just been the time I visited last that you had less stock. A while back when you had like 8 canister filters in the freshwater room going with that massive amount of oddball/Cichlid fish for $20 a piece I thought that was really fun and cool. Tons of filtration last time I went though there wasnt tons of livestock.
