I have been an extremely happy member of the Freedom Boat Club for a little less than 3 years and have always had a great and memorable experience at the many docks that exist in the Tampa Bay area! I do want to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to the crew/dockmasters at the Treasure Island location to include, Brian Doherty, Dennis Dinkins, Jim Garrison and Jake Boyvid. They were all very warm and welcoming and more importantly, very informative. There was some work done on the boat that I was scheduled to take out and although it was minor, they felt a need to let me know. They also were flexible when I asked them a day before to check if the boats live well was running and if the phone charger was working with no problem or issues. They even offered to let me use one of their coolers for any fish that I may catch even though we had one on board already. These guys were very very thoughtful in every kind of way. I respect and appreciate the way that any crew such as this one goes the extra mile to make sure that a customer has a great experience and these guys did that! I humbly thank the entire team at the Treasure Island location for showing myself and friends and my fellow veterans an awesome time! I anxiously look forward to my next outing at this and other locations of the Freedom Boat Club sooner than later!

As always the dock attendants are extremely helpful and friendly we always enjoy our trips from Freedom Boat Club it was a beautiful day by Gandy Bridge surprisingly enjoyed watching the planes land at TIA enjoyed a wonderful meal at Hula Bay after our trip the coconut creme brulee is to die for

Just recently joined FBC and so glad we did. What a great way to enjoy boating in the waters of this beautiful area with no hassle. Just reserve a date, pack up for a day trip and drive to the dock. When done we only need to take the boat back to the dock and thank the great staff. They do all the work from there. We love this new found outdoor fun in the sun. Its a safe way to be outside with just your family enjoying the water and wildlife of Florida.

Ive been a member of Freedom Boat Club for about 2 years. Living in Florida and being surrounded by water it seemed a logical choice. Over the last 2 years Ive enjoyed the ease of making a reservation and convenience of the clubs many locations. I often reserve a boat from the Harbour Island location and always find the boats to be in good condition and the staff is helpful. John and the rest of the Harbour Island team are efficient and really seem to care. Im very happy with my choice to join Freedom.

I have been a member of the Freedom Boat Club of Tampa for the better part of 5 Years. This was, hands down, the best investment Ive ever made. Growing up in the midwest living on the lakes, water life is by far an unmatched experience. Living in Florida is not the same if you cant experience life on the water. I use a boat just about every weekend with friends and family. Some times we go out on the Gulf and explore the little islands. We watch sea turtles, dolphins, manta rays, and so much more. Other times, we simply just take a boat out to look at homes along the water or frolic at the sandbar. My Dad, especially, like to take it out to go fishing. Whatever your pleasure, the Freedom Boat Club has something for everyone. The boats are always clean, in good condition, and ready when you are. This no-fuss option is the best way to go!

I am a member for eight months in Tampa. This is one of the best boat membership I have. The boats are almost new, the dock master and staff is very well trained and helpful. under the current Corona situation, I see boats very well cleaned and sanitized. Highly Recommend .

I recently joined FBC of Tampa Bay and have been extremely impressed with their level of professionalism, quick communication (email, website) to their members, their mobile app and the entire process of checking out/in a boat. I’m a new boater, so I was happy that they provided as much training as needed to make the experience enjoyable and stress-free. Not having to trailer, clean, prep, fuel, maintain, insure or any of the other burdens that come with boat ownership is a huge relief. All I have to worry about is where the next sand bar I want to travel to or where the next grouper hole we want to fish. 11/10!

Its like a golf club membership for boats.FBC of Tampa Bay will take care of you. Have been a member since 8/19 and we are treated so well every time. Heres the process - arrive, hope on, go have a blast on the water, come back, leave. Every boat owner I talk to is jealous. No maintenance, dry dock, insurance, etc. Just pay your monthly dues and gas (and tip your dock hand). Oh, and free training by certified USCG captains. Check out Capt. Deans YouTube videos. Lori at the home office is outstanding, and Drew Moon will give you the entire rundown - just give him a call. Completely Satisfied.

First time out was a huge success! Couldn’t of done it without Peter or Tyler at hula bay.

The corporate owned-locations are not good. Boats are not maintained. Gas gages faulty and depth finders mostly do not work. Good reviews must be from their friends. They refused to honor a change of membership from Palm Beach to Miami. Their head guy said they dont have to accept reciprocal members.They did not like people like me”senior Citizen and hispanic”I escalated this to their president who agrred with their head gut

I have been boating all my life and freedom has make boating so effortless I love it. I always go to the harbor island location even though everyone is great but, I go there because Aj always goes out of his way to give me exceptional customer service. He is the best!

The dockmaster and staff at Hula Bay are very knowledgeable and professional. When showing up to get on the reserved boat, it is clean fueled and ready to go ontime. Even with the extra COVID precautions it is easy. I highly recommend the Freedom Boat Club for anyone that wants to get on the water in a safe and fun manner.

It seems there is a lack of availability since Covid 19. Forget about getting a boat for the weekend with less than 2 weeks notice. Hopefully the demand will slow or more boats will be brought in.

A great day fishing with friends, staff was great! Boat listed to the port side Trim tabs were not operational which would have corrected the problem..just moved people and gear around..

John was knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process if prepping the boat and bringing it back for the evening. Pleasant experience!

Absolutely wonderful! I can’t get over how happy my wife and I are with our membership. We have been slowly working our way through each location and each type of boat. There hasn’t been one bad experience in the lot. All the handlers are great, friendly and very helpful. Dylan, at Hula Bay, helped us this week and he was great. This is the best decisiveness have made.

We could not be happier with FBC at Hula Bay. There are so many different boats to use for whatever you are in the mood for! But what really makes FBC so special are the dock hands at Hula Bay. After the third incident in 6 months, I thought it was time to write a follow-up review. My first negative experience was with Clearwater Marina. Upon arriving at the marina to take out my reserved boat, I found out that it had been taken out of service for maintenance the day before and no one ever called to give notice. The marina was unable to find a comparable replacement for us to use. The second incident, upon arriving at Dunedin Marina, I found out there was only one dock-master working and he was out assisting another boater on the water. We weren’t allowed to take our boat out until he returned. My third incident, I called to reserve a boat at Skyway marina because we are not allowed to secure our own reservations within 24 hours of the rental period. The dock-master at Skyway told me they were busy and would input the reservation in the system once boat traffic slowed down. I immediately sent my information for them to lock the reservation in to the system. I checked a few hours later and the reservation still had not been input so I attempted to call both the marina and the reservation desk, but they were both closed. I sent a follow-up message to the marina so they would see it first thing in the morning to make sure my reservation would be upheld. Still no response or call back. Finally, I found out from the reservation desk that they attempted to message me back in the morning to tell me it was no longer available, but the message failed to send and they opted to not follow-up with a phone call. The dock-master never put my reservation in the system and the boat was given to someone else. The marina had no other available boats, so we had to cancel our plans going out on the water.I would give less of a rating due to these problems, but I have had a lot of positive experiences as well and the reservation desk has tried to help the situations. On the same note, I shouldn’t have had this many problems over the last 6 months. I still enjoy my membership, but they need to remove the restrictions related to making your own reservations. If a boat is available, the member should be able to input the reservation without the assistance of an employee no matter the timing prior to the reservation time unless they start offering a 24 hour reservation line.

Have to say Ken is amazing...I just moved here from Mass 6 months ago and he came into buy fence and we conversed about fence and his boating club and we both were sold in each transaction. I cant even describe what an experience it was, from the amazing sail, kid friendly, and dolphin sighting trip! Hands down, the best, most professional adventure ever!!!!!

I have been a member of Freefom Boat Club for over 7 years, and when people ask me why I it couldnt be easier to use the scenario of having a great time with friends and family on a boat and when returning to the dock you walk off the boat with everyone else and continue your good times, instead of getting the boat on the trailer, taking home washing off, etc etc etc. But this review has even a better reason why I love Freedom Boat Club. Last weekend I had reserved a boat to go fishing with a very good friend that I dont get to see too often. But when we got to the dock, I found out I had booked a boat without a live well for bait. What looked like the end to our non-fishing day was turned around when Michael an Bob reached out to other members with reservations and got us on a boat with a live well and we enjoyed a full day of fishing...my only wish...is that we would have done more catching. This company took over our boat club here in Tampa. The people have been nice in transition but since we have used this company from beginning of year we notice a major difference. More expensive would be ok but when it comes with much less in return it is not ok. Most boats do not allow fishing so my other half is always frustrated. Most boats have small engines. No boating at night. We used to be able to boat to waterside restaurants at night with our other club. Basically with so many new restrictions..... no fun. :(

My experience with the Freedom Boat Club has been great!All of the people and employees have been great!The boats have all been clean, start like a dream and run smoothly, in short great!Now if you could find a way for the weather to cooperate, that would truly be great!I appreciate all of the efforts to keep everything running smoothly.

We went out of Hula Bay and had a blast fishing the Gandy Bridge. FBC never disappoints. The boat was clean and accurately described. The reservation was made the night before and the guy who set it up was super helpful and happened to be who was at the dock waiting for our arrival. We love FBC and cant recommend them enough.

Luis and JJ were a great help. Luis has a great personality, he made it fun.

It was quiet when I arrived and I was well cared for by the dockmasters who got me checked in and out for some midday fishing, It was a beautiful day on the water, I caught a few fish and when i got back to the marina the afternoon crowd was in full swing. This is the best way to go boating.

It is the best decision I have made in a long time. It has all the fun of boating and fishing with none of the work! You walk up, run through a brief checklist, load your gear and you are off for the day. When you return, there is usually someone waiting at the fuel dock to fill it up and help you unload. It could not be easier. I also have used boats from 5 or 6 locations. There is almost always(during the week) multiple boats available - fishing boats, bay boats, pontoon or deck boats. All boats are,usually new to three years old and all I used were in very good condition and were a pleasure to operate. Everyone I have encountered with Freedom have been helpful and pleasant to interact with. I could not recommend it more. As I stated earlier...it is the best decision I have made in a long time!

My boyfriend and I joined the club in March and could not be happier we did! Having both owned boats in the past we both agree this is 100% the way to go. Weve been out of Harbour Island, Ricks, Hula, Tierra Verde, Dunedin and Ruskin and have only run into 1 or 2 salty dock hands.The rest are great- esp. John from Harbour. Lori is also fantastic. It does take some planning ahead but that said weve never run into and issue getting a boat, even at the spur of the moment. Its nice to have to option to use different boats and really cool to explore new places by going out of different locations. The up front fee is a little hefty but I still thing its a better value overall than owning! Just do it!

It really is a breeze to pick up your boat, enjoy it and return and walk away. No hassle and hours of maintenance make the experience easier and way more fun! Dock hands are helpful and courteous. Best decision weve made since moving to Tampa!

Ive been a member of freedom for many years. They have always been super helpful and friendly. The boats are always clean and hassle free. If youre at a new location the guys will even take you out and show you some local spots. I love Freedom Boat Club

Everything was great! The deckhands took great care to get us out on the water and back off the water safely and quickly. The boat was clean and nice! Great trip!

Lee was extremely helpful at the docks Saturday morning. What looked like rain turned in to a beautiful day on the water. My son and I ran a new 23 ft center console down to St. Pete, fished Coffee Pot Bayou and Weedon Island. Fishing was terrible, but being with my boy on the water in Tampa Bay is just priceless.

FBC is always awesome! Mike is always great to see at the docks and the new guy Bob (I think) does a great job as well! See you this weekend!

Freedom Boat Club of Tampa Bay is the best way to navigate the bay. With 13 locations/Marinas to choose from.. my wife and I have been to nearly all of them and love the ease of use. We traded our boat in and were given a great deal and love the club. The Dockmasters are so nice and professional and its just a really great value for your dollar for boating or fishing. Trust me, go with FBC.

It was a great day going out of Ricks on the Water. The Freedom Dock Employees are great and very helpful 5 stars. However the Sea Fox trim tabs were not working on our boat.

Mike & Bob at the Tampa Bay (Hula location) are the greatest. They always let me know about weather conditions, tides, where marine life has been located, etc.When Iarrive theyre the first to greet me with a smile; even on the muggiest and dreaded of days.The boats are always clean, full of gas, and every single time we go out its so much fun its hard to come home!I want to thank Bob & Mike for all of their hard work! So I got a request to review Freedom Boat Club.My membership is a sale if:1. I could get 2 answers the same to my questions or concerns when I visit places within the Tampa franchise.2. I thought it was a done deal when I was told I had until Saturday midnight (June 30) to finish another household member application and then get a call from the salesman June 30th 10 a.m. that he had a person at his desk wanting a membership and it was the last one before he filled his quota for the month. To me this doesnt say much about the honesty of an agreement between a salesperson and a future member. If im told midnight and this deal has some kind of money on it then I should have had till midnight before a call was made. I ended up telling him to give it to the other person and I would get the membership next week but was told his quota for July was filled to check back in August (it was only June 30th and he was booked for a month ahead).3. My refund was processed Monday and im still waiting and today is Thursday for it to hit my account before trying again.4. One place, the club employees seemed to busy and shorthanded to see if I had been helped or needed help. I dont expect to have everyone stop doing what they were doing but I felt very invisible and all I wanted to do was talk to a salesman to see if I could join in the next couple of days.5. The dock help at every one of the places I visited was very cordial and took care of members coming in and going out. They are the ones who have kept me interested in this boat club.

Great weekend 2 trips both accommodated changes for me one had a fishing boat reserved and they were able to change to a deck boat and then the next day fit me in on a fishing boat which is what I wanted at the last minute...great day caught about 25 fish

Its currently a month wait for a full weekend day. Not enough boats for membership.

What a nice club! We flew into PIE at 8:30am, and the club staff had us on the bay by 10am. We took a smaller Zodiac across the bay to St Pete. There is a fun place called Frescos. and the docks are $1/hr. We then took the small RIB all the way over to Treasure Island, and then back. The club has clean boats and their staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Great Job!!!
