The playground is closed though, and because of this we are not visiting it very often these days. However, it is a good park to visit during summer when it is hot - It has a lot of shades. Parking typically has plenty of room, as the park is never very busy

Great little park with some historic importance - the site of the park was originally the lot where the founder of Sunnyvale, and later his descendants lived for a little more than 100 years. The kids play area is a little small though. Great park for a small jog or something.

This park is very quiet & chill. Parking lot is large & Ive never seen filled even half. There is a long history datinf back to the American west expansion with the building at that park with signs there about it. There seems to be a ping-pong club in the afternoons inside (seems to be for pros - they get dressed up & everything) & a cute playground & kind of an ampatheater. I lay out in the soft grass & smell the flowers.

Fun fenced in park ideal for toddlers. It is train station themed. The parking lot is never full and it’s an easy walk. There are lots of picnic tables. I am docking one star because there isn’t much shade. It can get pretty hot in the summertime.

I went for the lawn bowling. The park hosts the Sunnyvale Lawn Bowling club. The club gives free lessons & has all the equipment needed to get you started. Overall, the park is small & quiet with some shaded parking, a childrens playground & a multi-purpose room (which, at the time of my visit, was full of ping-pong players).

Convenient and has an area for kids thats okay. I usually run around the perimeter which is a nice 500 ish meters long, so its easy to keep track of distance. There is ana area on the back that some shady folks go to do some drug business, which is quite frustrating giving that people take their kids to play there...

Murphy park is a gem in the heart of Sunnyvale. Down the street from downtown, sweet park fun is going down. Very clean, the park had a vast lawn for picnicking, although the head of usually a little damp. Grills for bbqing and can be reserved. Theres also a community center where Ive seen ping pong being played as well as a lawn game that I dont know what is called. The playground has tanbark with baby swings and is gated. Its not very large, but it does the job for 6 months till 4-5 year olds. There is also a piece of Sunnyvale history in the corner of the park detailing the story of the city. Enjoy!

Went here because there were four pokestops near each other and got lots of water pokemon. The park is clean and the people that were hanging out there too were nice. Parking near the SAP would be best to go park then walk to the park. There are also some parking sides near it but its a little pain to try to find one.

Martin Murphy is a small park that packs just enough features to make it fun for most folks. While other parks in Sunnyvales system offer more features (some have Volleyball Courts, Tennis Courts, Dog Parks, Baseball Fields, fancily themed play structures, and water features) this park is big enough for a game of catch, soccer drills, and tossing around a football. It features reservable tables with several offering barbecues, a fenced in kids play structure, and a small community centre. For history buffs it prominently displays a stamp mill made by the formerly nearby Hendy Ironworks as well as a plaque marking that this was the former site of the Martin Murphy estate (the house in Heritage Park is actually a replica). The only thing is that during the day there are one or two transients that usually take up position at one of the tables—they dont cause any trouble and are usually gone before sundown.
