SPAR Waterpark - Sulphur Parks and Recreation

The park is not open. The listing on google maps says that the park is open. Drove estimated 2 hours to arrive at a closed water park. Looks nice from the gate though.

Just wanted to have a much needed family day out

Its a great place to take the family from water slides to kiddie pools and slides are if you just want to be lazy and float on the lazy river

The pool did have some grass and sand at the bottom but overall its a fun place. The concessions are delicious and the workers are pretty nice. The slides are fun but it does hurt my legs to go up all those stairs.

We had a blast! We will definitely be back

Great place to play in the water with the kids. They have two good size kids play areas. The wave river was gentle and only 3 feet deep, so that was much appreciated with little ones. Water was clean and park was not overly crowded. Bring plenty of sunscreen though, and quarters for the lockers. Overall great experience and the kids had a blast.

It was my first time to go to any water park. I had a blast. Everybody was nice. Tubing down the big blue slide was probably the exciting ride I think. Would recommend any family to go enjoy there day at Spar..

I come here everyonce in a while to get a quick shower its a great clean friendly place.

Its a decent waterpark. Its relatively inexpensive and because of this, the park is incredibly crowded. The food at concessions is just that..concession food and the service there is just average. Doubt I will be back.

Ive been going to spar as long as I can remember. Its family friendly and very affordable

I really enjoy coming here with the kids and my family. Its relatively inexpensive and the wait in line is under ten minutes, probably closer five. They have several water slides to choose from, with a tube or without. Both are worth climbing the stairs and be prepared for the one one slide (without tube) it generates speed quickly, I wasnt expecting how fast it was, but I was pleasantly surprised. There is a height restriction for the adult slides. The lazy river is my favorite( besides the nachos and slushies of course,)but if I were going to guess the river is half a mile long it generates waves and whenever they have it set on ten you get moving pretty fast, I love it. The staff is great, its clean and I cant wait to go back!

We went two weeks ago, great time! So today, we checked website and site said opens at 10! We drove 90 miles to the park today to a closed for season sign! Very disappointing since the website said it was going to be open today! Need to update your site because there are many people that go based on website information. Was looking forward to last day of fun before school starts on Thursday!

My teenage daughter loves this place, only $12 per person for a full day of fun! Foods not bad, and its a little cheaper than your average baseball concession stand. Lifeguards are very alert and attentive

My family and I enjoyed ourselves. Its was fabulous that my kids wanted to come back. The staff were very respectful and the water slides entertained the whole family.

Service was bad at both consesion spots. The life Guards had major attitudes. My opinion if you dont like your job Quit. Its a great water park but it need better employees. We came 4 vans full to this water park from Shreveport and Alexandria. 20 People all together at 12 dollars a person just to get treated like this. Wow Never Again. This was a summer stop for us but not no more. Trust me I really hated to give them 1 . I wish I could of gave them no . Management need to do some about this. Im a manager myself for a corporation. And the way the staff was was very unexceptional. The only part of the staff that was OK was the ones excepting your money. Im sorry to leave a review like this but the public needs to know. We travel far just to come there to enjoy ourselves on vacation. But Never Again.

Seniors held a mixer today celebrating Mardi Gras with bingo, door prizes and a clap along parade of dancers all dolled up in Mardi Gras attire.

Its fun but way too crowded with groups from out of town. They should have a Sulphur resident only day once a week so we could enjoy it since out tax dollars built it.

This is the perfect summer getaway very close to home. The park is $12.00 for non residents of Sulphur and $6.00 for Sulphur residents. Children 2 and under are free regardless of whether they are residents are not. The park has five water slides. Two kiddie play areas, a splash pad, and a swimming pool with a mini lazy river. The staff there is very friendly and the attractions are very fun. The lazy river is the best I have ever been in. The locker rentals are very inexpensive (coin operated, two quarters per every time you lock) which is a whole lot cheaper than paying $10 - $20 per day (I only get in and out of the locker about three to four times a day so it only cost me around $1.50 to $2.00 which saves me $8.00). They have free parking. They do not allow coolers and outside food or drinks, but you are allowed to leave to go eat lunch and re-enter the same day for no additional charge during the same day as long as you keep your wristband on.The only improvement they could make is having a reduced admission fee for children under 48 inches tall but are 3 or older since 48 inches is the minimum height requirement to go on the five water slides (on the other hand, they can go on the kiddie slides which probably makes up for it).

Surprisingly nice for a parks & rec facility. 5 nice slides for adults & older kids, 2 separate splash/play areas for younger kids, a lazy river for toddlers and a longer, bumpier one for older kids and adults. Lockers and food available. Entrance fee very reasonable and exceptionally cheap for local residents.

My boys love this park on a hot day. Its also a place where the parents can relax a bit as well while the kids play. Fair price and a very clean park with plenty of lifeguards.

Great place to swim, work out at the gym facilities, along with basketball, racket ball courts and a free indoor walking track. Love it.

Fun outdoor waterpark the whole family can enjoy! 5 semi big water slides, 2 kids areas, lazy rivers, sun bathing area.. Only complaint is the pool could have been a little cleaner we got there on Sunday at 1 when they first opened and the pool was full of bugs and hair balls... maybe have a better filtering system

Awesome little water park! Admission is fairly cheap. Some of the food pricing is a little expensive! You are not welcomed to bring food in, but you are welcomed in and out all day as you please. Most people go grab a bite elsewhere or bring food in a ice chest. They dont mind long as you keep it clean and eat in the parking lot.

The park in itself isnt really that bad. Theres tons of people here during peak times but its fairly enjoyable. On the other hand, the concessions are on par with ball fields and movie concessions. Theyre highly overpriced and not really that good. I mean, 15 bucks for a pizza that cost five..... I guess theyve gotta make money someway

First time going to the park yesterday we had an awesome time. Nice clean park with just enough to keep tweens busy for the day and a nice lazy river for mom to have a lazy day!! The only problem I had was 90% of the staff are very rude. Spar please train your employees to love and respect your customers especially knowing the customers are the reason why they get their paycheck

Nice price but lots of bugs in pool. Not very clean. Some of the young staff is friendly. Most are rude and short with kids. They act like they are not happy to be there at all. Overall decent for the price.

Small but really fun. Family spent the whole day in the sun and water.

I live in Sulphur and have been going to this place for a while. It used to be a fun family place to go now it is over run by disrespectful kids, disrespectful adults, and out of town riff raff. Needs better management with a back bone to confront these people. They also need to reevaluate a better max capacity number. This place has gone down hill big time since it has opened.

It has all of the weights and machines that I need to get a good workout. Very affordable

Great place for the price and the food is cheap too. Not a place for teenagers or adults looking for a lot of thrill slides. But its great for small kids and parents that want to just relax.

I took my nieces here. We had so much fun. The snacks were reasonably priced and that strawberry flavored ICEE was delicious.

,There were not enough staff members. Not enough lockers to put your things in so you have to hold are wallet and keys and important items. We dont leave these things loved in our vehicles. several of the teenagers that were there were very rude and disrespectful and had no courtesy for little children.

All the kids love this place big park and big splash pad. Bathrooms not the best but for free public not bad.

We love Spar waterpark. It is small enough for my autistic 10yr old daughter & 1yr old son to enjoy and big enough for my husband & I to enjoy. We are from Texas & drive to Spar at least twice every summer.

The past 6 years I couldnt say enough great things about SPAR waterpark. I loved it & I still love it! This year I do have a complaint though and its a big deal to someone who goes mainly for the lazy river. Theres only about less than half the inner tubes as they had before. Id say the majority of people in the lazy river had no tube to use so we were just all walking around in a circle instead of floating comfortably and relaxing on a tube. I plan to go back on a weekday and hopefully there will be a tube available for me to use

Suggestion: develop the rest of that land, add to the park. A swim up bar would be nice! Great place!

Love this place other than ALL the treadmills upstairs by the track are out of order. And theres other times there out of order.

We had a blast ....definitely our lil go to spot not far from home.

Love this very family friendly water park. 4 stars instead of 5 because the water had more trash & bugs than Ive ever seen before & the lifeguards were busier flirting with each other than helping people get on their floats.

Really great deal for the price. There are other water parks in the area but they are much more expensive

Awesome place...we had never been...went with a friend of ours and my kids...my boys had a blast! The kids section is so much fun and well supervised. The 2 person slides are fast! And fun for even my boys...will definitely be going again next summer

I visited this park from Dallas Tx on 4th of July weekend.Very nice facility.Clean. Lots of eye catching fun. The first thing I realized was that there was only one lifeguard in this kids pool. As to in Dallas there is a lifeguard walking around the whole time and lifeguards on Both ends of the pool. Which is like a 4th of the size of this water park. No way that one lifeguard can monitor all of the young children in the kids pool. The lifeguards had on black basketball shorts as well. Weird. Last but not least, this water park does not allow outside food. They’re charging $15 for a little Cesar’s $5 hot and ready!!!! Now that really irked my nerves. I know you have to make a profit, but you’re basically stealing from us now. $1.50 for a little bitty cup of soda!! All said and done I do not recommend this water park due to the lack of lifeguards and the overpriced food. Sorry.

Its great when its hot and if you live in sulphur you could probably meet some friends there and their food is good but alot of the times they have very little food

Love this water park!! My daughter age 2 loves going here! There are two awesome play areas for kids and bigger slides for older kids. The lazy river is awesome and the waves are a nice added touch! Lots of tables and lounge chairs and very spread out, doesn’t feel super crammed even on a crowded day. Looking forward to it opening again next season!

Nice little water park. Sucks that you cannot take any food or drinks in and store them in a locker. You have to buy food and drinks there.

Really had a great time; except for the privacy of dressing needs to be attended too!

Took our Goddaughter there and was highly disappointed. I discovered a blood soaked feminine hygiene product floating in the kiddie area...I ran and found an employee who told me to go ask that guy over there who then told me toask that lady and thankfully she was so disgusted that she immediately got rid of it. The worst part of all of this is that I was warning the adults that is was floating next to and literally touching and they looked at me like I was nuts. Am I missing something here? Needless to say we left. It was way too crowded as well.

Love this water park! Kids like this more than Blue bayou. Lines arent long during the weekdays. Not expensive at all...even for non-residents! We have been going here for two summers now and have never had a problem. The staff have always been nice.

Came on Sunday. They open at 1 tried to buy food cause u r not allowed to bring it they were out of all food except pizza and no soft drinks AT ALL. They only playinG R&B style music nothing else. Pitiful pitiful wil not be coming my back.

The lazy River was very disappointing, there should be a rule that you cant get in it unless youre on a tube. The point is to relax and thats not possible with kids running and jumping all around you and screaming.
