Relaxing and fun thing to do with kids or for a date. Peggy was nice and checked in us to make sure we had enough paint for the pieces we were painting.
Today my daughters and I went to Fire It Up for the first time. We had the best time. We had planned to paint pottery, but discovered we could do infused glass art there too. My eldest who is 8 yo was excited to try it. The owner, Ms. Lottie, was exceptionally nice and patient! She took her time explaining the process and then went out of her way to assist my daughter select something she could create. Ms. Lottie works really well with children and was good to remind us to wear our safety glasses when cutting glasses. My daughter left and told me Ms. Lottie made her feel special and they were friends now. We will definitely go back and are looking forward to the other types of artwork we can create as they have jewelry making, creating pottery with a pottery wheel and clay projects. Thanks Ms. Lottie for all your assistance today. My girls and I had a really great day!
Great people great environment always available for ideas and advice on the pieces available.Ive been there a few times and will definitely go back.
Visited yesterday with my 5 year old and had a great time painting pottery. When I walked in I was immediately greeted and given the “lay of the land”. The lady was friendly and explained that you pick your pieces, colors from the table, & said they would seat me on the side of the room. The studio fee (to paint, fire, & glaze) was $7 for adults and $5 for kids. They have plenty of items to choose from for adults, kids and have many themes. Me and my daughter had our eye on a few items we will do next!Once we picked our pieces we turned to see they were waiting at the table with our next set of instructions which included filling out a quick sheet with our name and info, writing a quick description of our pieces, and writing down colors from their chart. Moments later they took the sheets so they could get our colors and came back quickly with the colors and tips for painting our items. They are good about having people periodically walk around to assist you, give you tips, etc as you are working. Once you are done you put initials on your piece and pay at the register. Pick up is about a week later.I love that the paint is washable and stain free. Parents this means no stressing about kids getting paint on themselves and creating stains that won’t come out. Pottery pieces are $8ish to $20ish from what I saw but I didn’t look at large or seasonal items. There are many completed pieces out as examples or to help spark your creativity. They also have pottery making and glass fusing which looked really cool. There was a group doing this when we arrived. Snacks and drinks are there for purchase but you can also bring your own food and alcohol which is cool. The only drawback I noticed is that while the place is pretty large in total size several of the tables are very close to and obstruct the pottery pieces. This made me a little nervous about my kid breaking something on accident and also feel bad for anyone who wanted to see a piece up close but couldn’t because I was sitting there & obstructing their view in some way.
I was given good instructions on how to get the effects I wanted on my items. They also gave me really good ideas and suggestions. I made all of my Christmas presents for my family and grandchildren. They loved them and still cherish them because I made them. I am very glad I decided to go to Fire It Up and make all my presents. Its so much more special when you make something yourself and Fire It Up made it easy and fun!
I love this studio! I have done several pieces here & I will continue to come here. The owner is so helpful & willing to bend over backwards to help her clients. Her prices are beyond responsible, I almost feel like Im taking advantage of her! Even if you just have the start to an idea, dont wait until it is fully formed, they are so good at helping brainstorm until you create exactly what you were wanting.
Fire it up pottery is a lot of fun! They have many things to choose from and different types of thongs to do. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The prices are good as well. I highly recommend it!
Went to Fire It Up Pottery yesterday and had an absolutely wonderful experience. I had been once previously on a busy Saturday about a year ago. The staff was super friendly. The young girl Mason was awesome. She remembered my sons project from a year ago! They were polite and helpful throughout the entire experience. Will definitely go back in the future!
Really cute pottery studio. My daughter (6) loves to come here and my son (4) is starting to enjoy it too. My husband even came with us last time and was surprised at how much he enjoyed it. Great environment and friendly staff.
This place was amazing! We had 8 people decorating tiles & they were very accommodating. The staff helped, but not too much. Very nice people too! Loved it!
My best friend and I had a great time together, such an amazing place. The owner was the most pleasant and helpful person I have had the pleasure to meet. It was our first time going pottery pieces, full of excitement walking in the door we were welcomed with warm smiles and friendly faces. I look forward to more visit to this lovely establishment.
Took my boyfriend here for his birthday and had an interesting time. You can only make a bowl the size of your palm and the instructor is extremely annoying. She has 100 stories that are very uninteresting and she kept telling me to move aside and finishing my bowl for me. It was actually more a class where we watched her make our bowls. I suggest she break the class down into three or four parts and teach the class while she is making the bowl with us instead of showing us how to make it in five minutes and expecting us to be able to remember it all. bad teach, annoying stories and personality, and very limited time with actually making a bowl yourself.
Love this place. Took my 5 year old son to paint. I highly recommend it. It is a little pricey to me but other than that perfect for young kids and adults. Will definitely be coming back.
Fun all skill level artistic experience.
Wonderful time spent getting my creative on !! The staff was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable and the nicest people I have ever met. Especially the older lady, she was the best ! Great prices too. I will definitely be back !!
Classes are well-paced with satisfying outcomes. Children who are strangers in the community can participate without being loners. I appreciate the atmosphere at the studio and the variety of craft experiences available for my grandchild when she visits me.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. They make your experience personal and go the extra mile to teach you new techniques to make your project better. Very fun and creative environment!
Great ARTISTIC! !!!!FUN!!! ...!!!its,a perfect place for kids! !!! Very artistic classes and good for birthdays party! !!100% l recommended this, place MS. LOTTIE. ITS,A NICE LADY AND HAVE A GOOD WORK TEAM ART WORK FOR KIDS. :):) :)
It was a lot of fun. Myself and a few ladies planning a womens fellowship for our womens ministry. I look forward to our event there
My friend and I were looking for something fun to do. We could not have chosen a better place. Everyone was nice, friendly and very helpful.
Weve visited Fire It Up a few times. Every time has been wonderful. Great selection. Knowledge staff. My daughter loved having her birthday party at Fire It Ip too.
I had a small group of 7 come out this past Sunday 8/14 and paint for my birthday. We all (including the men) enjoyed ourselves. I will be returning soon... There is so much to do!!!!
A great place to spend an afternoon with my daughter
Fun! Staff is very helpful! My daughter went to a summer camp last summer. She enjoyed it.
The owners really mean well, but I think they should visit the Glazery on highway 6 in Missouri city. This place takes forever to get started, is expensive, and there are so controlling with the paints. Instead of just being able to grab some pottery and paints and get started, you have to fill out paperwork and list in advance what paints you want to use. Then, you have to try to track someone down to get a refill. Just a horrible system that doesnt just allow kids to pick out paints and have fun. No music played...and on top of it all we were told we saw you helping our 6 year old daughter so we were charged another sitting fee. Appreciate the good intentions but I will remain a loyal Glazery customer!
I love this place! Its really easy to be creative when creativity is all over the room. Rate 5 star!
My friends and I went to Fire It Up last Friday and we really enjoyed it. I initially believed it would be like Pinots Palette but it was not. There is no one person giving instructions causing a little anxiety if you miss a step instead it is a very casual environment where my friends and I were able to sit and talk while we painted our pottery. We did get there at 8 pm (they close at 9 pm) and chose pieces that required a little more time to complete then expected. The owner was kind enough to let us come back another day at no charge to finish our pieces. I thought this was very kind of her and for this very reason I am taking the time to write my first review ever.- AKA the hedge fund (inside joke with owner and friends)
Reserved the party Room for a glass fusion party. Our hostess, Danielle, was amazing, uber humorous and on point addressing our questions. Ill upload pics of our designs soon.
Really fun, artistic, calm atmosphere. Friendly helpful people. Nice music
I went to the location just now to use this Groupon with my son. They kept questioning me why I did not have four people. I explained to them it was just the two of us. The young girl went and got “ one of the bosses”, to whom I explained that there were just two of us and the value of our Groupon with $30 and we would pay whatever additional that we needed to. She said we could not paint unless we had all four people because the Groupon was for four people. I asked if Alexander could just choose a more expensive piece instead. She said no and that I needed to exchange it for the Groupon for two people. Instead of the hassle of doing that I would like to return the Groupon altogether for a full refund and I will go back to the pottery place that we normally go to in our neighborhood. This was a 35 minute drive for us only to be turned away and told that we cannot be accommodated and that we needed to exchange our Groupon. I’m a single mother. I just wanted a date out with my son. They were so concerned with trying to charge five dollars per child and it seven dollars per adult on a studio fees to make money. I would have gladly paid an extra five dollars for him to do an additional piece. Instead of accommodating a new customer and creating a fun experience for a little child they were more concerned with chump change.
Creative place. everything is beautiful. love the music too.
This place was amazing! I love how they also do glass decor too!
Family owned and operated its a wonderful place to go get your paint on
My friends & I had terrible customer service experiences. We wont returning nor will we be referring anyone here! One of the employees failed to inform me, before she sprayed cleaner on the table, at which I was sitting. Because of this, she also sprayed the cleaner directly on my legs & was incredibly rude when I brought it to her attention. After leaving, I had an allergic reaction to the cleaner & welts formed in my legs.My friend picked up our orders but had to make a second trip due to the store misplacing one of our items, until days later. They offered no apologies or compensation for the inconvenience.
Expensive. Hot. Good paint choices. Good pottery choices. Wont call you when theyre done.
I love it here !! The atmosphere is relaxing with a glass of wine. Plus there are so many ceramics to choose from.
I absolutely love this place! The fee is like what $7 and then you pay for whatever piece(s) you want to paint! The Groupon is for a certain amount of people and if your dont have that amt of people you cant use it. She is really good on accommodating you by at least taking something off if you have less. Its not her fault you didnt bring the right amt of people. It does get pretty busy really fast so there is no guarantee that there will space for you especially if you have a larger group so I would call ahead and try to reserve a spot. I drive from North Houston just to come here and I have had great service every time!!!! Again it gets busy so if you are needy this is probably not the place for you... But give it a try. First trip was with 3 friends from out of town and we used Groupon. It was jam packed but we had so much fun what was suppose to be an hour activity turned into 4 hours real quick. Second time was me and in laws from out of town and they also loved it! Third time was Valentines day with my husband we lucked up and was able to get in on one of the partner pottery wheel session (a great date I must say) & we ended up coming back to paint it on our Wedding Anniversary! MUST TRY THIS PLACE OUT FOR YOURSELF! DO NO LISTEN TO THE LOWER RATINGS BC MOST TIMES ITS BC THEY CANT USE A GROUPON THAT SPECIFICALLY STATES YOU NEED A CERTAIN AMT OF PPL...
We came in with a coupon from Groupon the only only options they have for the coupon was purchased to or purchase for. since I have a family of three I chose to purchase the coupon for 4 people when I arrived at the Fired Up Pottery Art Studio I was told that I would be able to use this Groupon coupon and that she would give me $7.50 off per person so I wouldnt get the full discount but I would get a discount I can choose from any of the things that I wanted to paint but she wouldnt be able to give me the amount of that I purchased. Im upset because its my daughters birthday and I came over here to do something different with her. I did try to call fire it up Pottery & Arts Studio prior to driving over an hour to get here the line was busy. I called 2 more times the line was still busy so we drove over only to be told that we wouldnt be able to use the coupon thats on Groupon that the Fired Up Pottery Art Studio placed on Groupon. Thats bad business!!!!!
My wife and I took a pottery-making class as part of our 9th wedding anniversary. We had a ball! Looking forward to coming back again soon!
New experience and allows you to let your artistic side out
This is my second time within 3 months. Absolutely love it
Very fun and super nice people
Had a great time with my family, and we left with some beautiful pieces!
Not too impressed with this place. It took quite a while for our paints to come out and we didnt get too much attention, the customer service was overall not where it needed to be. It was also a little pricey even for pottery.
Fire It Up Pottery & Art Studio is a great place to unwind n be creative at the same time!
Fantastic store and classes
Great place to have creative Fun
My second time here.
Awesome place to spend family time
I went here with some friends it was very unfriendly, the people barely told us how to get started, I didnt like it at all need more friendlier people
Waited entirely too long for paint. Customer service not good. Explained it was our first time at this place. Very disappointing
It is fun for adults and children.
Great place!
Always a wonderful time.
Projects are fun but overpriced. Also, the owner told us they would be ready in a week, but it took more like 2 weeks. After stopping by daily for 4 days, we were told they would be ready the next day for sure.
Great place for the family
