This theatre is a little gem that I discovered recently, eventhough I vacation in Stuart a few times a year. Really friendly staff who greeted me by name in an intimate setting (seats only 37).The actors are good local actors who enjoy acting. Just saw Neal Simons You Ought to Be in Pictures. There were three superb actors, a cute young girl who was drew the audience to her with her charm and spunky mannerisms, a woman who just finished a Navy career who exhibited a verve that engaged, and a mature man, veteran actor, who appearance and curmudgeonly ways reminded me of the old character actor Fred Clarke.Dont miss this theatre if youre in the area.
Intimate setting. Great show. Only problem is it sells out quickly. Have to order early.
Great shows. Dennis and Karen are the best. Check out the Improv show on 2/28.
Incredibly good shows in a very intimate setting. The theater staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Outstanding and intimate black box theatre. I’m amazed at the quality of the productions here. Ignore the haters with their fake reviews. They had an axe to grind and thankfully they’re gone.
Very nice people get to learn a lot check them out
Wonderful community theater with top notch actors and plays
Fantastic Little Theatre. Get productions
Awesome awesome awesome my wife and I loved it 35 seats great honors we really enjoy yourself will call you back in 3 weeks
This theater offers productions every bit as good as off-Broadway plays Ive seen in New York City. Quality acting and excellent choice of plays in an intimate setting. No better way to spend an evening! Truly a welcome addition to the Treasure Coast community. I highly recommend!
Great show...great staff...great seating
Great intimate venue; wonderful selection of shows!
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I am appalled at the behavior & the harassment the management of this theatre has inflicted on the patrons, staff and musical guests of the Brew.etarian. This place is a much needed safe environment for our young adults to gather and express themselves artistically. My husband & I observed a member of this ACT Theatre taking pictures and intimidating the customers as well as becoming belligerent towards them. As our sons band plays there often, I feel blessed that they have an amazing venue to be a part of and believe that Stuart should support the local music scene and not have such a Stay off my lawn mentality.
I am going back because its excellent.
Smallest venue Ive ever seen for theater. Seats about 40 people on tiers, in bridge chairs, but the theater doesnt pretend to be anything but what it is: a small, intimate community theater where you go to see good live theater at reasonable prices.Of course, there is the problem of the one-seat toilet, so there could be a wait. But Ive learned to go always before leaving home.Acting can range from OK to great, just like when you go to any show. The volunteers are wonderful and oddly enough, there were no prima donnas in the audience who thought that what they had to say was more important than the actors lines. That impressed me. Im so tired of paying for any venue and being harassed by the public and its private conversations on my dime.Go to ACT. Its well worth it!
The owners and patrons of this establishment have been publicly harassing the patrons of the business next door, with which theyve already established an agreement over performance times. They seem to be incapable of letting others stand peacefully outside of another establishment. I would not recommend this venue, as the management here has proven itself unfriendly and anti-social.Brew.etarian is a vegetarian/vegan establishment that promotes local art and artists and has tried to work peacefully and respectfully with its neighbors.
I run shows next door that are designated safer spaces as all-ages havens for marginalized individuals and victims of abuse to be able to take part in the music scene without fear of being harassed or having prior trauma brought up. After consistent and elevating harassment from the management of ACT they resorted to sending out an older man to film, indiscriminately, the crowd that was minding their own business outside of venue. Is it technically legal to film minors and victims of abuse without their consent in public? Absolutely. Is it ethically okay to do this as a form of coercion or retaliation because you dont like the fact that live music is happening next door? Absolutely not.
Velocity of Autumn was absolutely fantastic. A MUST see!
A.C.T studio Theatre does not act like a mature professional business. Theyd rather harress minors by taking videos of them and they go out of their way to shut down any event these young artists hold. I would avoid doing any business with them.
Great little theater. Intimate and fun to see a play.
High quality theater performances worth more than the $25 ticket price. I love this small but mighty theater!
Such a great intimate theater!
An incredible theatre full of incredible talent!
Small, intimate theater putting on quality productions! Definitely check it out!
Great little cozy theater with excellent plays!
I notice all the reviews only concern ACTs relations with Brew-etc.ACT rightly objected to the latters high decibel, pounding rock during their plays. Their audiences (paying $25) literally could not hear the dialog with the noise coming through the walls. A.C.T. was doing plays -- 8 PM till about 10 -- well before Brew-etc. changed owners and brought in the heavy metal. They were right to object.A.C.T. produces comedies and dramas with an off-Broadway edge that appeals to educated audiences. It is a theatrical gem on the Treasure Coast.
As the negative review I posted with the hopes this business would reconsider their actions and treatment of patrons of other businesses has become unaccessible through Facebook I am reposting it here for the world to see. I hope this will help them see their actions have left me feeling like a subhuman. It strange writing this review as I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have to. I am a local musician and patron of many arts on the treasure coast area and located next door to this establishment is the ONLY all ages music venue in three counties that will allow young bands playing original music. If that doesn’t seem like an important thing it is because I can imagine this very theater was opened because a group of artists felt the need to express themselves but didn’t have a venue to accomplish it. They wanted their own space to tell their own stories. So the amount of disdain and utter contempt we have felt from the management of this business is heartbreaking. I would imagine you think a bunch of kids yelling doesn’t matter but if you don’t give people a safe space to express their art where are they to go?This last Friday was especially heartbreaking as it was one of my best friend’s birthday party show. No one was fighting, no one was breaking stuff, no one was being rude we were just a large group of 18-34-year-old humans having a good time. So it boggles the mind as to why the police were called? Why pictures were taking of the patrons? Why time and time again shows have to be pushed till late hours out of respect but no respect is given back? But most of all why I have never seen an employee or an actor leaving a show hand any of us a flyer to talk up a show as if there was no chance we could love theatre. You have unfettered access to a young demographic of artists and art lovers even if 10% of us were interested that is new patrons but never once have felt that we even mattered. That we could even be someone you would want in your establishment. So I write this not to create more aggression. I write this not to start a fight but to say how would it make you feel if the shoe was on the other foot? How would it make your patrons feel if management took pictures of them? How would it make your actors and directors feel if they kept pushing shows back to later and later times out of respect and never felt that same respect returned? Consider, these things and then consider how hard it is to be an artist and how much the theatre means to you. Apply all of those feelings and then ask if your actions are right or just? I would argue it may put things into perspective. If it doesn’t that breaks my heart even more.
HARBOR.I enjoyed the show—well done!
Great off off Broadway venue,
Great place to see live artists
Nice neighborhood theater
Got there, with pre-purchased tickets, to find the show had been cancelled.
Funny and entertaining
I and many other people were treated poorly as this establishment as they continue to try to suspend our art at the Brew.Eterian
Very enjoyable, excellent play!
Disgusting owners who hate small businesses involving music.
