The place has a lot of potential to attract more visitors. However, the beach the sand and water will not be the main attraction no matter how much money the city pour into it. The beach quality is just not there. The pavilion was empty, not even open. I would go there for walks, long walks if there was a trek around the island but it seemed there wasnt any. There were quite a few towers with birds nesting there, and that was really cool. It seemed there were Piping Plovers all around (at least the signs said that). Lots of shells, lots of nature and fresh breeze. Would recommend it for sure.
Is a beautiful place you can swing ..walk enjoy the day ..
Great place to get away from it all for a few hours or the whole day. Shuttle boat every 25 minutes for free, thank you City of Bridgeport and former mayor Bill Finch. Nice pavilion with showers, rest rooms and snack bar. Just a shame it only runs Memorial Day to Labor Day
Nice quiet place to walk on the beach, free water taxi to take you there.
Very nice get away
Its like having your own island. Very quiet and relaxing. Plenty of room for yourself and families. They even have concession stands. Hot showers to bath after a day of swimming in the ocean.
A great 4 mile hike over sand from the parking lot down to the end of the peninsula and back
Its so peaceful.
Lots of shells and smells of dead fish in spots, but overall awesome place free ferry and golf cart ride to beach. Great playground for kids as well. Showers bathrooms and snack bar. Great spot. I would go back for sure.
Great place to spend an afternoon, they have a snack bar and rest rooms
Every staff members were so polite. Would sure love to see more attractions there like the good old days. Always a good time when I go.
Love going here! Nice place feels like your on vacation.
Awesome walk and exercise and overall experience for my sons and I. Highly recommended!!
Beautiful island.
Beautiful views, trail is mostly sand with a small amount of paved surface here and there.
Nice place to go for a walk. Not too busy and it is not accessible by car so there isnt any noise from cars.
Amazing, beautiful, never crowded. Great for walking, and bird watching
I trully love coming to pleasure Island. Everything is wonderful. The staff is so polite and nice. Thumbs up Beidgeport. Its worth the drive!
Beautiful! Tons if potential. Saw so many cool shells and plants I had never seen before. Theres a gorgeous boardwalk with signs showing the history of pleasure beach as you walk in. Its far to the beach which is good to see a lot of nature on the way! you can always take a cart there or back. We walked in and rode back..the cart drivers are really friendly. Only thing is, theres nice new garbage cans where theyve renovated but they need to ADD SOME GARBAGE CANS ALL DOWN THE BEACH PLEASEEEE. People unfortunately arent waking it back...come on lets keep it clean it looks so nice and Bridgeport deserves it!
Amazing local get away, lots of nature for kids to explore, avoid the crowds and hop on the free water taxi, its like your own private island
I think its a wonderful place to enjoy with your family friends and just relax
Free parking, short boat ride to island, long walk from dock to beach, history kiosks along walkway, pavillion with bathrooms and food stand (burgers, dogs, soda, water and such) at beach, narrow and stoney beach, not crowded.
Awesome
Have to be there
Loved it!
Its a bit ghetto
