Excellent decor and service. The front desk guy really made us feel welcomed and took great care of us. We have zero complaints about this place. Sure there was no breakfast, but that was because of COVID so I cant dock them points for that. They did offer some complimentary nice hot tea though!! Also, there is an awesome bartender that was so patient with us as we selected our drinks. I think what really got us was the warm fireplace areas throughout the hotel. It felt like we were at a chic cabin. We were able to bring our drinks to the fireplace area too. The views from our room were GORGEOUS. I would 100% stay here again in a heartbeat. We came for our honeymoon and this place did not disappoint. We told all our friends about it!!!

Beautiful grounds and well kept. The rooms are clean and roomy but dont have a mini fridge. Perfect spot for a wedding or family reunion.

I loved my stay in Stowe at the Stowehof. The property is beautiful. The staff works hard to make sure you have everything you need and the two pools were very well maintained throughout my stay! The room was large and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast in the mornings was delicious, too! I have no complaints and would love to come back next time!

We just got back home ! I must say I loved this place. Unfortunately they advertised breakfast. We got it during Covid. The menus was not the best. We went to the round Hearth for breakfast . My only deep concern was I fell getting out if the hot tub. I wrote as cold my arm and will need to go have it checked out. The room we stayed in had just the kind of decorations we like. The other problem we had was the Shower . It had several different shower heads but they were not working. I do wish the had a bath mat or something for the tub. Was very slippery. And after falling getting out of the hit tub. I was a little nervous about it. But we did enjoy it and the staff was very good.

Wonderful historic chalet style hotel with gorgeous views! Felt like I was in Europe. Clean, comfortable and well maintained despite the age of the facility. Not shiny and new since the building is old but the charm of the place is enchanting. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location.

Others have stated the rooms need upgrading, this is a major understatement. Bathroom smelled terrible (no fan or window in bathroom) and had black mold behind the bathroom faucet. Shower head sprayed as much water onto the ceiling and over the shower curtain as actually came out of the shower head. One very small waste basket and a tiny TV. We spent 3 nights there on our honeymoon. This was one of 4 Inns we stayed in during our honeymoon. The others will get good/great reviews. Staying at this place was the lowlight of our honeymoon.

The Stowehof was a nice place to stay in. Staff was very friendly, kind, helpful. I loved the people that helped us by the bar, they were accommodating to my choice of food and drink.The room was very cute too. Only issue was the AC unit, it barely worked, it was impossible to sleep because it got really hot in the room at night.

Nice place and not expensive. The rooms and decor are a bit dated, but that, I think is its charm. Its kept the feel of an 50s or 60s mountain resort. The grounds are beautiful and the staff extremely accommodating. I hope to go back sometime when theyre back to full operations post-Covid. And theyre dog friendly too.

Amazing surroundings and common areas. We could sit by the fire enjoying our drinks. Staff was very kind and accommodating. The hotel parking is free just outside of the building. The only problem with this place is that rooms are in need of some work and renovation. Bed was comfy though. Weve enjoyed our stay very much.

Totally loved this place. It’s a bit on the older side, the room are a little quaint, but the family totally makes up for it. The area has a few fireplaces that provide a super cozy atmosphere. Plenty to explore. There is a Bushnell Trophy X65 telescope in the far end of the room facing towards the sky slopes in Stowe Mountain Lodge. Plenty of games, books sit around and have a great time.

We would stay again. The lounge area with 2 fireplaces is a great place to end a ski day (coffe/tea/ hot chocolate available all day). Or soak sore muscles in the hot tub or small indoor pool. 8 minute drive to Stowe Mountain Resort. Solid on property Fritz restaurant or easy drive to other good dining options. Wiessner Woods nearby to hike or Nordic ski. Friendly accommodating staff. Charming country feel. Room 3 is small-queen bed (plush, cozy mattress) and small dressing area. Good value if you don’t mind a smallish room-we didn’t...always out enjoying the outdoors or in front of the common area fireplace.

Stopped here while visiting thr mountains around Stowe and its an amazing spot to just sit down and relax for a little. Small bar downstairs, where you can get your drinks for a very affordable price. Recommend taking your drink upstairs to the lounge to enjoy the fireplace and the amazing views!

We had an interesting stay at The Stowehof. Our check-in was on a rainy day but we got to our room and everything was alright until we turn on our heater and there were just clicking noises. It never came on. We inquiry about it up front only to get a plug in heater handed to us....no mention of exchanging our room or anyone coming to check on it. There were only 10 cars on the property so they definitely had vacancy. That night the area got hit with strong winds and the power went out. It came on at about 8am just enough for us to have breakfast on site and then died again at 11am to 8pm. We stayed on site the whole day because of flooding and down trees through the village. When we went up front to ask when they expected the lights back on again at 5pm, the lady at the front desk act as if it was our fault for staying there. All we wanted to know was will they open the restaurant when the lights came back. Through out this whole ordeal, not a single staff came to our room or call to make sure that we were ok or updated us on the situation. When we stayed in the common area, in the morning, most staffers who saw us were nice and the house keeper who realized that we were all the way back in the hall did bring a flashlight to light our dark hallway through the day. I just did not feel that the hotel had any emergency procedures to prepare for any real disaster or that they care too. The wind was so strong it knock shingles down, and doors flung opened. I fear to think how they will handle a true emergency. They let us have breakfast free because of the electrical issues. But as beautiful as the grounds is, I will not stay here again. And yes, this is the longest review I had ever needed to write.

I get so agitated when reviews say “hotel needs an update”. I’m glad I didn’t listen. If you remodeled this incredible hotel you would destroy the charm and arrested momentum of an age forgotten. From the moment I walked in there was an air/ambience/familiarity of a time I wasn’t even alive! I was able to feel nostalgia for a different era. All staff was super friendly and helpful. I can only imagine people coming here year after year in ski season, chatting by the fire.The kids game area and reading spaces made me miss the days when we didn’t have cell phones and actually spent face to face time. Sitting around the campfire sharing stories with strangers and walking in the moonlight around the grounds were highlights. And the VIEW!!!The price was incredible, the room WAS dated, but in a charming way. How people can have such elevated expectations for a piece of history at a $$$ steal is beyond me. LOVED LOVED LOVED. For an older generation, think “The Shining” (minus the ax murders) or new generation “Hot Tub Time Machine”. There was even a super sweet bartender who looked like Steve Zahn’s character...made me chuckle.Thank you so much! I hope to get back and enjoy a week in winter here one day.-with love from New Orleans

Stowehof is a beautiful property and the rooms are nice and big. It was clean and limited capacity during covid. The gentleman at the front desk during my stay was extremely helpful and made sure I was comfortable. The only thing missing was onsite dining/drinks. The property only had the bar/restaurant open only on the weekends. Which means after a long day out, if you wanted to just stay in and eat that was not possible.

The outdoor pool is nice but freezing cold the hot tub is nice and clean after a long day of skiing

My husband and I stayed for the last night of our honeymoon/babymoon. After we checked in we dropped our bags and went out that night for a nice dinner. When we got back to the Stowehof we went to bed right away. The next morning I got up to take my shower, I looked down and there was a giant hair on the tub floor. (I have very short hair, this was NOT MINE) I jumped out of the shower feeling grossed out, and when I opened the shower curtain I noticed a used washcloth hanging on the shower curtain. To make everything worse, I went to use some lotion and the lotion they provided was clearly used, or refilled because half of it was gone, and the inside of the bottle was all dusty. I looked down on the bathroom floor, MORE LONG HAIR!!! At this point I was freaking out. This room had not been cleaned and we got back so late the night before we didn’t even notice. I felt so grossed out mostly because of COVID-19, and I’m in my third trimester of pregnancy with asthma so I’m very high risk. I went down to the desk and spoke with the manager, she was not working the day before. She said she would take care of everything, and asked me if I wanted someone to go up and clean the room..... I said no we are leaving anyways. So than checkout time came... she said I’m so sorry about your room I’m going to give you $48 off......So she wanted to give me 25% off my room that was clearly not cleaned, and during a time of a pandemic. That’s just unacceptable. the room should be more clean than usual. That’s when I got upset. I said “listen iv kept really calm about this considering I just slept in a dirty room last night, have you even looked into if the room was cleaned ??” She finally agreed to fully refund the $192 I had paid for the room.... but I will never stay at that hotel again... they should be Extra cautious of cleaning procedures during this time of COVID 19. They should be shut down, and asked to do a fully cleaning. I still feel so grossed out that the floor wasn’t even swept and that I may have even slept in a dirty bed that had just been remade... again they should be SHUT DOWN.

This hotel is so charming! We absolutely loved the sitting area with the comfy couched and warm fireplaces. The books and games were a perfect touch to the charm. The three day stay was not enough time to enjoy the hotel to its entirety! We will be back!!

I need more time than what I have to review this hotel. On the one hand the scenery is breathtaking, the lobby is cozy and inviting and the beds are comfortable. On the other... Everything is old and rusty, old grandma style couches in the rooms, bathroom and bathtubs that can use a major renovation and a window air-condition that is noisy and very unefficient. The outside area is nice but the pools are old and their paint is pealing and the indoor pool is the size of a bathtub. Service was ok. Everyone was trying their best to make our stay as good as possible BUT - they didnt refill the soap in the room and didnt provide clean towels. The second bed was folded into the wall which they never cleaned or made their sheets. Bottom line - for $230 a night I believe I could have found something nicer. Overall ok. 2.5-3 stars max.

If you are spending time hiking in the mountains surrounding Stowe, this is a great base camp. The bar has a small menu but the food is yummy and there is a solid selection of beers and whiskey. Excellent spot!

We stayed at The Stowehof for our annual company retreat for 25 folks. This is the one time a year we are all together so it is important for us to focus on productive meetings and quality downtime together. The staff at The Stowehoff (Ryan, Melissa, Alyssa, Kyle - the list goes on!) took such great care of us during our stay. They took the time to plan out all the details in the months leading up to our trip and made sure everything was in order throughout the week. The kitchen was great handling our several varying dietary restrictions and made sure we had a variety of meals while we were there. The property was clean, the hiking trail was peaceful, the outdoor games and firepit were enjoyable, and we felt right at home. And the wifi was fast! It was a great trip and were so grateful their team made sure of it.

Its a great place for relaxing. The grounds are beautiful. Food is good. If you are looking for high end, this isnt for you but if you enjoy older and quaint, it fits the bill.

Beautiful mid century lodge. Every inch of the hotel is interesting and the detail is amazing. The rooms are casual, nothing fancy, but adorable. The front desk staff working here are all very nice and give you plenty of privacy and advice. Great views from any window. I would 100% recommend staying here!The 24hr coffee, tea, and hot cocoa bar is nice. I loved the build your own bloody Mary station at breakfast! Unfortunately didnt get to have dinner at the hotel but when we come back I will! The pool, hot tub, and sauna are simple and clean. And the entire place is dog friendly!My only recommendation to the team would be to discuss self-awareness with the cleaning team. The woman leading is very loud when she goes around to clean rooms. If you were trying to nap or relax, with her on your hall you will get no peace. She also is not sensitive to how the things she says can make someone feel uncomfortable. She touched the do not disturb tag on my room door and said to the girl that she was training see this tag means they dont want us. She said this like she was upset and made me feel really uncomfortable.That is such a minor thing though compared to everything The Stowehof has to offer. The surrounding town is really cute with lots of places to explore!

This place is like taking a step back in time! Everything was clean and beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. Staff was incredibly nice and friendly. Felt like a guest in their home. Would recommend to anyone, any time of year!

Good hotel, a little too far out of town to walk, but nevertheless very comfortable and clean.The menu in their restaurant was quite restricted and breakfast was sandwiches or wraps unless you ordered a whole bunch of sides, which racked up the cost. Bed linens, towels and toiletries were excellent and the bedrooms had that old world feel. One side of the hotel had spectacular views to the mountains beyond. All in all we would recommend and return.

Pros: the staff is friendly, the exterior of the hotel is unique and beautiful, the hotel grounds are stunning, as is the view; the lobby is so retro and unique and just a really fun place to hang out. The location is also good. The breakfast is great.Cons: Parking--when we got back late from a dinner one night the lot was jam packed. The rooms are outdated and not as nice looking as the online pictures; the carpet in our room had some stains and the bath tub was clean but so old and beat up that it just had that unpleasant grimy look. The exterior pool was freezing; it was a beautiful hot day out and we could not get in, so we swam in the sad little interior pool instead. The sauna was tiny and sad.If they replaced the carpets and tubs in the rooms and heated the pool, this place would be amazing.

This inn needs corporate rescue! It is old, tired, and in desperate need of a facelift. I wish I could see photos of it in its heyday because I’m sure it was a gem. The condition of the hotel is very sad. Water stains in the hallways and carpet (plus a moldy smell), mildew on our curtain, a tiny tv, and a sink that constantly dripped. No amenities to speak of, although the bed was very comfortable! No fridge, microwave, coffee maker (although coffee was available evidently). We didn’t eat there. The gentleman at the registration desk was very kind and when we asked, gave us some ice. When we checked out, the lady at the desk took our keys, asked what room we were in, and said “thank you”. Typically, they will ask how your stay was, but she didn’t.

Just stopped in to see the lounge and Fritz bar. Very cool spot.

We loved the charming character and history behind the establishment. My husband and I brought our dog and the hotel staff was helpful and welcoming regarding doggies and any needs. I want to come back and bring our entire family for a ski trip in the future! Thank you for the amazing stay in Stowe!

Many of the reviews talk about how warm, cosy, and homey this place is and how the staff is welcoming. There are also a fair bit of a reviews talking about how the rooms could benefit from an update. In reality, both sets of reviews are right! Good, cosy, spot but the place would be better with some upgrades. The strength of the Stowehof is the service, the homey communal area, and the location between town and Stowe mountain.

The rooms need a to be updated, but the lounge and views were amazing. The on site restaurant/bar was surprisingly really good. Overall I had a great time. The staff there was super welcoming and friendly. The only reason why I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because the rooms were super dated and need an overhaul. Theyre still on physical keys for the rooms!

We have stayed here several times before and loved every experience we had.We booked our mini-honeymoon several weeks ago for 4 nights. We were told that we can check in at 3pm. We arrived past 3pm and were anxious to check in after a several hour drive. We were told by the front desk that the room was not ready and that it’s not certain when the room will be ready. The person at the front desk said that it could be 30 minutes, an hour or more. He suggested that we perhaps come back in 30 minutes to see if the room is ready. He offered no other solution, except to wait at the Inn or come back later. He said that since they are fully booked, he cannot switch our rooms. I said that we would go eat and call the Inn before coming back. It would have been a simple courtesy for the front desk person to offer to call us once the room was ready or offer us a drink at their restaurant while we waited.Around 4:30pm, I called the Inn and the front desk person was not able to tell me if the room was ready. He took my number down, said he would run up to check himself and call me right back. He never called.We headed back to the Inn and thankfully were able to check in around 5pm. My husband spoke to the Rooms Manager who said that she was going “to do something” for us because of the inconvenience at check in. However, we are still waiting on the detailed bill and based on the credit card charge, it appears as if nothing was taken off.It’s really too bad, this place WAS our little heavenly getaway that we always looked forward to. We will be looking at other options next time we want to head in to Vermont.The room was amazing, clean, spacious and charming. The complimentary sparkling wine was a nice surprise and greatly appreciated.The breakfast buffet was quite limited in comparison to what we remember the Inn offering. For what was offered, we should have been charged half the price. Just my opinion.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful. We were there off season, there was another couple and us in the whole hotel. Great views from our “mountain view room”, jet tub in our bathroom, wonderful unique decor, friendly staff . We did not eat or drink at their bar but it looked awesome. My only complaint would be the pillows, too firm for my taste. Overall highly recommended. Can’t wait to go back

The view from this hotel is amazing! Staff at this hotel were wonderful! The restaurant onsite is a hidden gem. I had the Bourbon Braised Chicken Leg and it was excellent! The breakfast was good too! I would give this a 3.5 star if I could because the room would need an update and Im so glad to hear that they plan to do this in the future.

Loved the bed and the sheets were soft. The hotel was rustic but very clean. It was quiet and the view was amazing. The lady that checked us in upgraded to a better room because we came very early and our room wasnt ready. She was very nice and the room was very spacious. Plenty of space in the lobby. In general, a very nice hotel.

Went to this hotel for our honeymoon and had a fabulous time. The staff was friendly, helpful and kind. Especially Robert! The aesthetic was gorgeous. The rooms were comfortable and sizeable. There was plenty to do there and in the area. Cant wait to come back!!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Stowehof. They are very accommodating when it comes to your furry friends. The common area gives off a vibe that transports you to Austria. The staff were lovely and helpful. The rooms could use some TLC, but other than that we had a great time.

Such a cool and eclectic place. The rooms all have unique pieces of furniture and it’s like you’re stepping into another time or world. We kept calling it the Hogwarts hotel. Great chill staff and beautiful grounds and part of the country.

Housekeeping is the worst. There was poop on the toilet thank God I had clorox wipes. Screen was broken so I couldnt get fresh air unless I wanted to share my room with bugs. I left 2 days early cant wait to get home. I normally leave 10-20 dollar tip for housekeeping they got nothing. They werent friendly just a bunch of frowning unpleasant maids. Molly was nice, I asked for a room with a deck because I smoke and was told I couldnt smoke on the deck. She saw hpw mad I was and gave me a room with a deck. Im a seasoned smoker and travel a lot and never had this problem I always shut the patio door so I respect the fact that smoke can drift into a room. In all my years I never had an issue. 2021 cant come soon enough for your upgrades. I wont be back or recommend this place. Just wish I didnt waste my hard earned money. And your menu really needs a change. Happy birthday to me.

Very friendly staff particularly Molly at the front desk. Shes a gem. Also tall bartender and Jen were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our few days here. Real charm.

We had room # 2. Great view. Nice facility. Good grounds.Couldnt eat there because the restaurant door to the outside was left open to serve outdoor customers and smoke flooded the entire building through the restaurant even to our room. The door from our room to the outside was swollen so we could hardly slam it. The window crank was not working, and I cut myself trying to fix it so it would close. The plumbing for the neighbors rooms came unpainted through our room in two places making it very noisy when used. Quiet other times. Bed was fine. The common rooms were great, but too smoky for us. The bath sink was impossible to turn on without it spraying half the bathroom. The outdoor balcony was great. When I gave the details to the office lady, she listened, but did not bother to write anything down whatsoever.

The Stowehof was exactly what we were looking for. It has the feel of a family run establishment, everyone was so kind. The rooms arent modern but theyre spacious and clean. The decor is charming, the history palpable. We spent our days out hiking and skiing, and our nights downstairs drinking hot chocolate by one of the fireplaces putting together a puzzle or reading.

We were never able to taste the food because we left after waiting 30 minutes for drinks that never came. There were two employees from corporate dining and they showed concern only after another couple got up and left for no service. Probably will not return. There are too many restaurants in Stowe that provide excellent service with good food.

This is an older property with a lot of character and charm. Clean and neat with plenty of area to lounge and relax.

The stay was nice. They have the nice lounge area to hang out with lot of board games and scenic view. Cool place to visit with friends and family to relax. I can definitely come back.The only downside was that they mentioned at the time of check in that they have complimentary continental breakfast, but there was nothing except 2 varieties of cereal which tasted low grade quality and bagel and bread. Though it was complementary so I should not compliant but the expectations were set incorrect.Finally we went for the breakfast at a local restaurant and saw almost all the guests from this place in that restaurant for breakfast.They can improve the quality of the breakfast and definitely making it complementary will give them 5 star.

Beautiful location, and building. Needs some updates, but mostly ju sa t a thorough cleaning would suffice! I found a pill under the bed and had my 2 dogs with me. The dust and long dog hair (mine are short haired) made it clear it hadnt been cleaned very well.

When you look for a place to stay, you look for cleanliness, convenience, area, quality and location. This place had location (stowe mountain) as for we were on a ski trip. The rooms are completely outdated, from the Television to the unsecured locks on the doors. They do offer a cool lounge for games, fireplace and a little restaurant/bar downstairs but nothing proprietary. We had no hot water in our rooms, housekeeping was a joke, we had spilled coffee on our bed one morning and they just made our bed and put a pillow over the stain rather than give us new bed sheets. There is no real service, I might have seen about 2 employees there, one was this suspicious looking guy walking around the halls. Rooms are small and the mountain view is barely a view. Overall this place is not worth the stay and they should sincerely look into investing money into modernizing this hotel. I was completely disappointed for the price tag. Horrible experience, but my friends and I made the most of it.

Charming hotel. Cozy lounge area, great pool and hot tub. Fun games indoors and out. Just far enough from Stowes main streets to have a gorgeous view of the surrounding area but never too far from anything you may need. Cant wait to go back!

Loved this place! Its been kept so original! New beds were very comfy. Loved the restaurant and the staff members were amazing, funny and very welcoming. We were on our way back home from a road trip and only stayed 1 night. I cant wait to gi back and stay longer.

Really enjoyed our weekend here! The common area is a great place to read or play a game by the fire. Our bed was large and comfortable. The place itself has old rustic charm - keep in mind its very old, not a brand new Hilton. Although I believe some of the rooms have been updated recently.

Molly at front desk was so helpful.-Friendly and attentive staff-great value for price and location -dog friendly-beautiful manicured big Garden -The only thing lacking was breakfast, I wish the dinner chef was in charge of am food.

I imagine the experience is very different in the summer, but the winter comfort and charm felt very much like what I would expect of a mid-century upscale Austria ski lodge. That being, its compact and cozy, has European quirks, and the staff is very attentive.Expect the rooms to be small and outdated but this isnt a brand new Hilton, and thats part of the fun. Most importantly the beds were very comfortable. You can visible see the age of the building, but its not a distraction. The common room is a wonderful place to relax in the evening with several fireplaces and well worn furniture (but in a good way). No TVs, but I never once thought to use one, try it.The only gripes were with the restaurants food, which was overpriced and bland, so try somewhere else locally and just stick to drinks. Additionally, the hot tubs jets were broken and the sauna was set at 102 degrees. Neither helped ease the aches of a long weekend skiing.

Stowehof is one of my favorite spots! A fantastic stop for dinner by the pool or a cozy, mountainside retreat. Its tucked into the woods off Mountain rd, so it feels secluded even though its a short ride to everything in Stowe.The building itself is reminiscent of a beautiful old ski lodge, with gorgeous views and balconies along the upper floors. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, and we were impressed with the menus and atmosphere in both restaurants. Definitely a must see/stay while visiting Stowe!

Loved it here, great staff surrounded by a very unique hotel. This hotel is great for relaxing, having fun and celebrating. 2 pools an outdoor and an indoor, sauna and lots of property to explore. The bar in the hotel always had fun bartenders that make delicious drinks! The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and the land around it peaceful. Thank you Stowehof! We had such a great time.

Cant say enough about this place.what a lovely stay. The bartender went completely out of his way to my girlfriend and I could have smores. The lady at the front desk was super nice. The guys doing breakfast were rocking it especially since there was only 2 of them doing everything. The owners should feel very blessed they have such great employees. Keep up the good work. We will be back for sure!

Great view from the kings suite. The hotel itself seems outdated but it is part of its charm. Old squeaking floors make you feel like a previous century mountain retreat.The restaurant is not so great, but more than OK for drinks and something small to eat (johnnys cake are very good).Equipped with everything you need to spend a sunny weekend relaxing!

We made reservations online for our family of 4. Very reasonable rates. Only to realize at check in that their rooms only hold 2 people. They did figure it out. Indoor and out door pool, hot tub and breakfasts available.

The Stowehof Inn was the perfect place for my husband and I to not only stay, but also have the reception for our wedding. Everyone was super friendly to us and took extremely good care of us. We are so grateful! We cannot thank Kelly and her team enough who help make our wedding day perfect without a single problem. She took care of every detail to make sure we were all happy. Stowehof helped make our wedding day the best day of our lives! Our room was spectacular too, overlooking the mountains. Each room had its own unique qualities, which makes this place one of a kind. Our guests fell in love and we cannot wait to come back again! Stowehof is the best place to fall in love with the mountains. Thank you so much!

We stayed at the Stowhof this past Saturday and had a very pleasant time. The hotel is quaint, clean, private, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. What impressed me as well was the receptionist, Mollie, who was truly welcoming when we arrived and was helpful when I posed questions to her. She is truly an asset to this hotel. Well definitely stay here again!

Such a quaint and quirky wonderful experience! My girlfriend and I stayed last night and we LOVED walking around and just exploring the history of the hof. Our room was fantastic, king bed with separate dressing area in addition to the bathroom. The shower was also great!

The place has a really good feel and the views are awesome. Staff is friendly but not very good. Also the food is simple. They could do so much better.

Unique architecture, beautiful views, very cozy Gathering rooms. Congenial staff. We did not stay there, we went there to see if we were interested in staying there the next time we went to the Stowe mountains. Our walk around the facilities persuaded us. Besides the usual Hotel amenities, there is a library, chess boards that look like theyve been used, multiple fireplaces for intimate gatherings. Be aware, the parking lot isnt paved, there are a lot of steps, and I wouldnt be surprised if they have gluhwein every night in season. Consider that accessibility maybe an issue.
