If you are in Stillwater this museum is a must see. The tour takes about an hour, and the guides are very good on introduce you to the atmosphere of the period. They tell you stories about prison inmates, about the families that lived there, and in perfect Victorian style ghost stories. The entrance is 5 dollars (1 for children).
We went to still water on Sunday and on the internet said open it didn’t say closed on the house because of covid 19. Pavement needs to be fixed right before the sidewalk entering the house my 72 year old mom fell and hurt her upper right side of her body and her ankle vet bad she is still in pain. Please fix the pavement someone’s life can change in a second
Wardens museum sits in front of this lovely stairway. Climb the 100+ stairs, its beautiful at the top.
We loved it. Kimberlee our tour guide was the best !!!
Highly recommended! This 45min tour takes through the old wardens home giving you history about the land and also the territory of stillwater! 5.00 18yr plus 1.00 younger was a great deal for such a informative tour! If you love history take this tour along with the trolley to get a full insight into stillwater! Also....check out the very cool books in the gift shop on our 1.5 drive home we read ghost stories of mn..
Fanatic historical gem in Stillwater. I love how it embraces different parts of history around the period, including haunted stories, a recent trunk show with period dresses, war time artifacts along with the building history itself.Parking can be a challenge, but well worth an extremely reasonable $5 tour price. The last tour is at 4pm. I wish we had more time in each room as there is so much to look at. If you’re with a group with more than 5 it can be a bit crowded in each room. Some of the rooms change with different exhibits, and I would be interested in a return visit to get to see more. The director is fantastic and you really feel welcome.
I am on oxygen. I walked up the steep hill only to find out tours happen on the hour only. That should have been on the sign at street level. Very disappointed. I wasnt going to wait for 52 minutes.
I did a Pokémon raid here. It was ok
Really well kept-up home with a really neat history.Highly recommend!
Washington County Historical site. From the 1800s.
Great tour! Takes a full hour, but stuffed full of good history about Minnesota, Stillwater, and the prison. Interesting artifacts and historical items inside. It made me want to learn more about the history of Stillwater as a whole.
Good tour. Knowledgeable guides. Good deal for the price.
