It was a good visit. I know one member just aquaintance who does photography she had some of her art displayed this week August 29th. But I also liked the John legend picture. yes the work also by kusama. The new museum worker very informative about where exbits were located and who they were be even if it is small museum. But one with great worksOf art.I like too the tribute to some women artist there should be more.Because I just hear about men. But all and all great job.
This museum is fantastic. Quiet, quaint and well maintained. We stopped by on a rainy day and were delighted by the art. I took some very close up photos so you can see if you can find them there. They have a glass studio as well as a childrens art room. The exhibits were great. I wish the weather was better so that we could have walked a bit outside to see the sculptures.
Super cheap date or family outing! The current exhibit that runs until end of March 2020 is a quilt exhibit, absolutely amazing!! The detail is astounding! A few other paintings some as old as 200+ years, a unique hat exhibit, and a tessellation artist are also there currently. Outside theres Cliff Park with beautiful cliffs to look at, a playground not too far down, the Mad River flows right next to it with a bike path and huge boulders you can walk/climb on right by the river. Art museum also offers classes.
Being from the Springfield area it is always a treat to visit the museum.Love this place
Admission price is fair. Lots of great pieces, but I was hoping to see more larger pieces.
Our visit here turned out to be an unexpected highlight of a day in Springfield. I loved seeing the art, learning about the different pieces. I found it so relaxing to wander through the exhibits. I will definitely return and watch the website for exhibition updates.
Had a wonderful time doing paint activities with my son on field trip.
The Springfield Art Museum is a gem of a place. Great art displays and things like the lunch in the park concerts (free! And only $6 for a boxed lunch!) just make this place the truly fantastic spot that it is.
What a beautiful gem in Springfield!
Beautiful. Not crowded. Good parking. World class museum.
It’s cute! Not very large, but had a good selection of different artistic displays including local artists. There’s also a room with interactive activities for kids.
Great art classes for kids. Miss Amy is amazing!
A small but quaint museum. Appreciated the local artist exhibits.
Charming little museum with friendly staff. Kids 17 and under are free, adults $5. I enjoyed the interactive art and the variety available.
