This movie theater rocks! Great selection of films. Bottomless popcorn for $4.50 and beer and wine. Friendly staff, the best experience Ive had at a theater in a long time. Perfect for date night!

Comfortable seats, even if not the cutting edge recliners. Clean theater and bathrooms. Great picture and sound quality. Saw Harriet on 1/1/2020, so glad to see it was still playing!

Movies here are great. The seats need some help. 1 hour into our 3 1/2 hour movie my wife wanted to leave she was so uncomfortable and I agreed. Theater is super awesome though and everyone who is a movie buff of any kind should watch movies here instead of AMC or Regal.

Loved this theater! Small seating area, but quality sound & screen. It is small but that is part of the charm. They had an obscure documentary that I really wanted to see playing once everyday!Their popcorn is delish and tastes like home air popped. They have a sustainable living type concessions with real cups, bowls, that are washed & reused.

Great little hole-in-the-wall movie theater on West Main downtown Spokane. They show fantastic movies and documentaries that are not mainstream block busters. Small comfortable seating, options for wine and beer or popcorn.

Magic Lantern has two theatres, a large theatre (100 person capacity) and a small theatre (30 person capacity). I saw Free Solo in the small theatre and it was nice, seats where comfortable, and got some popcorn which was bottomless and served in tin bowls which are reusable. The prices are great ($9 for a ticket, $4.50 for popcorn) and beer/wine/water are also available as well as candy at normal prices. My only recommendation to any theatre attendee or to staff is that they reinforce not blocking the narrower pathway to the right of the movie seats, as it results in patrons having to cross an entire row of seats just so someone has a convenient spot for their purse or shopping bags.

Great small theater spaces playing films with depth and creativity that are engaging. The popcorn smells good and comes in stainless steel bowls with refills $4. A variety of beverages. Filtered water is free. Nice considerate audiences both days I went this week. And senior discounts Wednesday afternoon.

This is an old iconic fun theatre! We paid for our entrance, and since we were not given a ticket or receipt, told to just tell the next staff person that we had paid. When you order popcorn, you get a big silver bowl (think its refillable). I sometimes come here to see an art movie, or a documentary that I cant find at other theatres. They are located in the same spot at Saranacs, and near Zolas. Great location, and expanded parking now on Main makes it easier to enjoy everything

Bottomless popcorn for $4, beverages are not a total rip off, $2.50 candy boxes! Little room but comfy seats and good slope so you can easily see over the person in front of you. Good sound, sharp digital projector on a good sized screen, your only complaint, if any, will be the movie you chose.

This place is so cute, I love it. We saw Free Solo recently and the theatre was small (30 people), but I like that. It isnt new/modern by any means. They have old chairs and a very dated atmosphere. But that is ok with me, the seats were comfortable enough (comparing to the new recliners) and the décor wasnt bad. More comparable to the Garland (without the booze). Just dont expect a modern AMC or Regal. I really like that they use reusable bowls for their popcorn rather than disposable bags. Honestly dont know the price cause I didnt pay but I thought the location was great as there are a few happy hour options within about a block. I would recommend this location for movies!

Five stars because they show movies that other theaters do not. The foreign films, the documentaries, the independant films. I really like the small theaters - no complaints about the smaller screen size. I appreciate that the customers know what they are experiencing and are respectful of others while there. The theater is quiet during the movie - and the sound system does not blast you out of your seat. This is my favorite movie theater in town.

I went here, only once, for their premier of a Trans-friendly movie. I found it amazing that this theatre, and its owners, were supportive enough and willing to accommodate such an impactful movie. Not to mention its small size, making it the prime location for a hole-in-the-wall, homey theatre for the millennium.
