Visited the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox in Spokane and enjoyed The Beach Boys in Concert. The theater is a beautiful, quaint, venue. Remodeled to look as good as new. Theres not a bad seat in the house. Arrive early and just take in the beauty of the theater. Do yourself a favor, dont pass up an opportunity to enjoy the Martin Woldson Theater in Spokane, Washington. Please like the review if you find it helpful.
Me and my SO just got back from the Back to the Future in concert at the fox. The theater is beautify and the staff was too notch, my SO is currently having to use crutches and they helped us into our seats and took the crutches and stored them for us so they wouldnt get in the way. Fantastic theater and a fantastic time.
Stunning old-time feel theater. Immaculate original details but with non invasive modern updates. The architecture is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. Street parking can be a challenge during busy hours but there are a couple paid parking lots close by. Wonderful venue to enjoy a performance at, you wont be disappointed!
Went to this beautiful theater tonight to see Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Ive always enjoyed this venue in downtown Spokane. The seating is comfortable and the design of this particular building is breathtaking. The staffing was quite friendly and helpful and are definitely an asset. I will have to look into more events here in the future.
I love this place! It used to be a movie theater -- I saw great movies there! -- and now there are excellent artistic shows and concerts! Former Miss America/singer/actress/author Vanessa Williams was there, and the operators of the FOX were very accommodating in allowing celebrity meet-&-greets (unlike other venues nearby)! The FOX is clean, well-run, and the staff are great! I highly recommend this place!
The pixar symphony was wonderful! I had never been to an event at the Fox theater and it is such a gorgeous place. We will be back! The staff is friendly and caring as well. There were a few open spots and we had a group of teenagers talking next to us so we asked if we could move and they were more than happy to accommodate.
Martin Woldson Theater at the Fox is home of the Spokane Sumphony and a cultural hub for the region. The beautiful art-deco style theater was built in 1931 and restored to its original glory on 2007.Check the Fox website often for outstanding programs of all kinds but especially for shows by the fabulous Spokane Symphony. The Symphony performs a wide variety of shows; something for all tastes. The theater seats about 1600 and can be rented for weddings or special events. The ushers are all volunteers and make you feel welcome. Bars can be found on both levels and you can take your drinks into the hall as long as they are covered. The restrooms are clean and large. For Symphony concerts there are parking lots nearby. To save money, use River Park Square after 5pm for a very good price. If you are able to take STA (local bus) system it’s only three blocks away. Taxis, Uber or Lyft are also excellent options! Don’t let the lack of tons of parking keep your away. It’s worth the effort to go to shows at The Fox!
This place is gorgeous. It’s from the 1930’s, they had to close it down for a while to renovate it. And they did an absolutely spectacular job. It’s just so beautiful. I’ve attended more than several shows here over the past 5-6 years and have truly enjoyed each and every one of them.
My daughter had a Drummers and Dancers performance that my son and I got to attend. I love the art decorating. There is so much history and good memories in this fabulous theater!
Plenty of seating for a good view from anywhere in the first or second story. Bathrooms are small but nice. It feels a little eerie and also peaceful there, hard to describe. I have been here for a few concerts and a poetry reading, as well as a comedy show. One of my favorite parts about this theater is the artwork that they display in the hallways and stairwell. Its a fun place to hang around and socialize for a while. This theater seems to draw a classy and somewhat less rowdy crowd than some of the other theaters in town.I do not usually order any food or beverage while Im here, they do have a small concessions area and Ive had popcorn and packaged foods and drink from there that were good. The best things about the Fox are the atmosphere and the sheer variety of shows that they host. Worst experiences have been with the people who worked at the ticketing window a few years ago, I cant speak to the state of the current staff or anything like that.
Beautiful art deco gem in downtown Spokane! Its a great music venue. Parking can be an issue since most spaces are in pay lots that are ridiculously priced ($17.42 for 4 hours tonight), so come early and look for a meter after hours.
Art deco theatre thats been restored to original. Amazing acoustics! Staff is always helpful & friendly. Have been to events from movies, symphonies, & rock music concerts & always enjoyed them. Seats are on the small side, so it can be cozy & a bit on the warm side.
My wife and I went to see the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot Roadshow, and the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox was the best place for it! This theater is absolutely beautiful. They have done a remarkable job of restoring this beautiful theater to its original glory. Do yourself a favor and go see something, anything, here just to see the theater itself.
A beautiful, Art Deco motion picture theatre that has been converted for live performances. One just doesnt see this type of detail work in modern buildings.
Absolutely gorgeous theater. Great sound. Amazing events. The seats are a little snug but all the pluses out weigh this negative.
Gorgeous art decor theater in the heart of a fun city. Comfortable seats and excellent sound.
I was bless.to be able to have gone to the see the Spokane symphony. It was once in a lifetime experience the music was amazing. The theater is something awesome for the young, old and older. I love it!!
The arr deco is awesome. Fun way to enjoy a Gonzaga violin concert. Wine was excellent and so was the music. First class experience.
Absolutely beautiful architecture! I cannot express my happiness that the city choose to keep this historic building around. From the 1930s! The venues are amazing and the staff were all so incredibly helpful. One of my favorite places to be in all of Spokane.
Incredible. Thats all I have to say.
This is such a beautiful venue. Watching The Nutcracker was AMAZING! Thank you for keeping this Spokane gem alive and running.
Went to the Christmas Pops concert for the first time - WOW! It was wonderful. Such a beautiful theater, such a great performance.
One of the best experiences in Spokane. The Fox and the Spokane Symphony are top quality. Have made a lot of memories here.
Beautiful, and breathtaking. Have seen a play, and a few concerts here. There really isnt a bad seat in the place.
Food is great and hearty. The fire is warm, and the service was excellent. They can make a great basted egg.
Gorgeous theater. Put it on your Spokane bucket list to go see something here. Beautifully restored jazz age decor and excellent acoustics
A beautiful old art deco theater with a great staff. This place is a treasure.
This is a fantastic theater, probably the best decorated in Spokane. I would highly recommend going and listening to the Spokane Symphony.
The look of the place was so nice and everything about was fancy. I recommend visiting.
It is wonderful that the performing arts have expanded to include families with young children! My wife and one of our grown sons attended the Harry Potter inspired symphony concert which included interactive displays, actors posing as characters from the H.P. book series, dancers, singers (including a world class singer) and a magician! Plus magical trinkets inspired by the books that were for sale. It was fantastic! And there are more concerts of this caliber scheduled throughout the coming months which means that theres something for everyone to hear and enjoy. Ah music, a magic beyond all we do here! Albus Dumbledore
Wonderful venue, beautiful acoustics and decor!
The Spokane Symphony is an extraordinary experience with an extremely talented group of musicians. The sound characteristics of the auditorium coupled with the near proximity of the orchestra and conductor makes for an experience few cities can match, including Seattle.
Gorgeous building with good acoustics. It is the place to go for great shows.
Very nice location. Seating upstairs and down. My opinion not a bad place in the house.
The Acoustics were excellent and the staff were very helpful in any of our questions and concerns
Historic theater brought back to its glory days. Great place to hear and see a show.
This is a beautiful theater, with nice acoustics. The seating was easy to get to, the exit was quick, the sight lines good, and the atmosphere excellent. Much of the atmosphere came from the audience being so intimate with the act playing. I’d go there again, if visiting Spokane, and I’d stay at the Montvale for its convenience.
Had a beautiful time at the symphony! I highly recommend this beautiful theater!
This is our absolute favorite place to see live music. Portland has nothing on Spokane! This little theater is intimate and lovely. You feel like you are sitting in someones living room. The staff is always so friendly and they get some great artists there. It is family friendly, too. My daughter has been introduced to people that my husband and I grew up with. We cannot say enough good things about this place.
Neil young solo off the hookgreat venue !!!!
First time attending a show here, pretty awesome and great sound.
I absolutely love this theatre! The design and acoustics are amazing! Every show Ive seen is a delight, largely in part to the theater itself, not just the performance.
Love this theater! Beautifully decorated and maintained, staff personnel are always friendly and helpful, clean bathrooms, reasonably priced beverages, great venue for music events. I just wish the city would build a parking garage for the theater district.
Got in fast with friendly and helpful staff. There was a woman who was really enjoying herself, to the point of disrupting others experience. One of the ushers sat with and talked to her, basically keeping her distracted. I just thought how he handled it was great. He befriended her instead of confronting her and causing a scene.
Simply the most beautiful venue I have ever seen. Great accoustics, too.
I was saddened when The Fox was closed a few years ago. But since their remodel and reopening there has been a revitalization to that area of downtown and if the planners can bring big names and events then there is no reason why the M.W. Theatre at The Fox shouldnt/couldnt be Spokanes Premier Film and medium/large size event center with its deep history and original beautiful Art Deco style walls and ceilings.
Beautiful historic building. Comfortable and great places for small concerts. Had a wonderful time.
Amazing theatre. Wonderful example of art deco.
I had the chance to be at the Harry Potter concert last night...wow! The excitement, the joy and, of course, the music...that wonderful music! It was a great evening!
This is a wonderful place to get dressed up and see a show. I wish theyd update the seating but I understand that that might take away from the classic feel of the theater.
Great venue! Neil Young sounded amazing in the theatre, acoustics were right on. Not to forget that they coat checked my skateboard!! Which is valet parking for a skateboarders, not a service found at many locations, especially one so nice. One complaint, MORE MARKETING! How is it possible Neil Young was going to be there and I didnt see a thing about it till the day of and it was sold out had to pay a scalper my soul to see Neil... Worth it though
We ran a show here last night, amazing staff, great venue, fantastic area. Could recommend higher.
Great accoustics. Absolutely loved the experience!
Great staff. the interior is breathtaking and the sound rocks
From Neil Young to Daniel Tiger this place covers all the bases for my family under the most gorgeous theater around. Comfortable seating with great views from even the nose bleeds. Ill be avoiding the Knitting Factory as much as possible!
Epic concert, beautiful theater, friendly staff!! Need I say more??
My mom, my daughter and I went to an event showcasing upcoming events, displaying various instruments, and show samples. It was a lot of fun. It was at a time that was close to my toddlers nap time, so we didnt get to check everything out like I would have liked to, but in the instrument petting zoo, my daughter couldnt get enough of the trumpet and drums. She also loved the violin, and the skilled children and adults were kind and patient with my two and a half-year-old. Whatever event you want to attend at the Fox, I fully believe you will have a great time, and I would recommend any event to any person!
Ray LaMontagne tonight and Amos Lee earlier in summer. Beautiful theatre. Great acoustics/sound.
Celtic Woman was there ! So awesome !
The Fo- theatre still has that 20th century magic. even tho you are still elbow to elbow with your neighbors, this is something I miss from the cinema years of yonder. and there wasnt a bad seat in the house. kind of wish the venue had turned the speaker dial back a tiny smidge but it still worked as the event I attended had both a screening and live portion. if the right performing acts come thru town I can see myself coming back to the Fo- Theatre for sure!
This is a beautiful historic theatre. Find a show to see here... Its worth the time, and ticket prices are affordable.
New conductor, same excellent orchestra.Great start to the Masterworks series, with Gershwin and Copeland. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Wonderful theater in Spokane!! Great place for movies and symphonic events!
Spectacular architecture! Beautiful acoustics. No bad seating for any event!
Beautiful treasure of a building with a lot of amazing history in the heart of downtown. Also an outstanding place to listen to symphonic music as well as other musical shows. Of I could give 10 stars, I would.Only complaint....and its minor....I wish they would do something more with the exterior astetics in terms of color and lighting. The outside should at least reflect in part the beauty of the inside. Currently, I cant say that.
I attended a New Years Eve concert there, and it was a lovely experience
Its the Fox. You have to go there and see it. Sure, the seats are tiny with little leg room, and cup holders werent invented when it was designed, and parking is a pain...but its the Fox. Experience the old time vibe.
A beautifully restored are deco theatre with great acoustics and great programs
Beautiful theater, amazing acoustics. Saw Buddy Guy.
Fantastic time watching Post Modern Jukebox!
Beautiful venue. Warched the Nutcracker. It was fabulous!
My favorite Christmas question tonight at the Fox Theater...Dont you feel like youre inside a Christmas ornament when youre in the Fox Theater? YES!
This place hosts really fun shows. The one I attended was a Harry Potter themed party and concert.
Really cool retro vibe! Great sound!
I love the nostalgia of the building. Brings many memories for me.
The Opera The Marriage of Figaro and Julia Sweeneys show were both excellent and the theater is a good part of that.
Beautiful art deco interior
Great venue, lots of wonderful seats, staff have always been pleasant and helpful.
Saw the nutcracker here, amazing scenery and performance. Seats were uncomfortable
We are so blessed to have this theater in Spokane.
Great experience at the Back to the Future event.
Simply beautiful restoration! Add another set of bathrooms and it would be perfect.
We always love seeing performances at the Fox. Just saw the Spokane Symphony here and it was wonderful.
Beautiful theater. Every time I visit, I notice a new little detail that is so intricate and tastefully done. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind and they book a great variety of shows and performances.
Beautiful venue! Great staff!
Beautiful place, much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Great experience, everyone should visit this place and watch a show.
A MUST EXPERIENCE, if in Spokane! The exterior of the Martin Woldson Theater (as locals, we will always remember it as the Fox Theater), doesnt even hint at the majesty and awe inspiring luxury of the painstakingly thorough restoration of the Foxs art deco interior architecture.Truly, this magnificent gem is not something you just go see, its an unforgettable experience. Couple the eye candy of its architecture with the incredible natural acoustics inherent in the buildings design, showcasing world-class talent represented in the Spokane Symphony, and the combined experience for the first time visitor is simply stunning!Absolutely an experience that shouldnt be missed!
The building is nice. It has upper and lower level seating. It has a smaller stage, definitely has an intimate atmosphere about it. It was a nice experience and would love to go again
