A wonderful place to spend some time. Very peaceful and The Brothers are excellent hosts when one is going on retreat. First went 45 years ago, and it hasn’t changed much

The stillness is meditative. I see other cars, but no one around anywhere. It’s wonderful.

A peaceful, amazing place to just drive up for a day, park in the guest area and walk the area permitted. Everything is clearly marked. Check the schedule and sit in on some of the the prayer times or mass and hear the singing. No matter your background, it’s peaceful and centering. The monks also make beer, jams and jellies, pottery, and sometimes honey or other items and well as incense and their vestments—you can visit the showroom.

Truly devoted to Our Lord. God Bless them all at the Abbey.

Very serene and beautifully landscaped area. Great place for a walk and some peace and quiet. The gift shop also has some great preserves, honey, and other goodies!If you have a chance to purchase some of their beer locally (we could not buy any on the premises, but bought some from a store down the road), I highly encourage that as well! I believe they are still the only Certified Authentic Trappist beer brewed in the US (Trappist beers are some of my favorites and so I try to buy and support the real thing whenever I can), which is an interesting feather in their cap as well.

Excellent preserves. Quality and flavor are A++++++ in my opinion. Excellent as gifts as well.

Peaceful place to come and sit and enjoy the peaceful scenery around you. Beautiful little giftshop as well. The area you can stroll is limited though if youre just visiting.

Quiet, peaceful. Listening to the monks chant is heavenly! Mary House is great for private accommodations.

Quiet solitude between you and spirituality. A place for quiet reflection. You can also purchase handmade as well as the usual touristy stuff things. Beautiful grounds, sacred grounds. Most surely something for everyone here.

One place to retreat to in these times of chaos been going there for 27 years at all times of year fall is favorite. Food is great. Beds are comfy . book store is the best . the brothers are kind. Just wish i could go more often.

What a beautiful serene area. I felt so blessed to visit and left feeling I needed to get back to having faith and committing myself to being more involved with the lord. Walking the grounds and sitting in silence made me feel like I was at home. I am hoping to be back to visit and sit in silence again soon.

Beautiful and peaceful place!!! Great to go to go for a quiet place for reflection! You can see where the Monks that live there do and they have a gift shop where they make their own products that you can purchase. One of the best places in the area for quiet reflection and social gatherings that are quiet and outside.

My partner and I just returned from a weekend at the Abbey. Father Dominic facilitated our retreat conferences. What a subtle reminder of the power of stillness and faith! I would encourage anyone who is seeking silence and meaning to make time for this extraordinary experience.

This is a very nice stop. Quiet and peaceful. I love their jams and new brewery. What a great way to keep this place going while providing a necessary service.

Unfortunately, I think some of your jelly jams also did not find totally clean feet. I wish to stay over a few nights as I heard you can. Have gone there several times in my life to pray or watch monks pray starting with my mom and aunt taking me there as a youth. Beautiful store and rolling hills of peacefulness. One of my friends was scared sleeping over there. Nice store they fundraise with. One of the ways to worship God and his creation.

St Josephs Abbey is a blessed connection to my past, and present. Fr Mark Delery, my uncle, was a physician prior to his calling into the Order. I remember, while growing up, we would all go to the Abbey to visit him. The Abbey remains a very special place to me today.

Beautiful grounds, amazing architecture. Church was incredible. Amazing energy, calm and peaceful.

Peaceful and serene monastery grounds and chapel; a good place to wrestle with ones faith.

Scenic and quiet.

Although Im not of the Catholic religion, I used to frequent the Abbey. If you drive up to the chapel, it is a very peaceful place to get some thinking in.
