Beautiful trails. Nice picnic area. There are bathrooms when we arent in a pandemic.
Great little place. Lots of parking and fun trails.
Quiet park with a pond and small waterfall. It would be a perfect spot if illegal motorcycle riders would go to a park designated for that kind of fun. Fays without them are serene and full of birdsong.
Great, quiet park for a stroll. Only docked a star for its lack of facilities...no restrooms, grills or picnic tables. Lovely little pond and stream. Nice dirt trails circle the pond and a nice broad dirt walking/snowmobile trail follows the stream. Plenty of parking. I dont fish myself but have watched others fishing here and they were pulling fish in every 10 minutes or so. There is a pretty large mown grassy area on one side of the pond, great for playing fetch or frisbee. The spillway area is pretty enough that I often see folks using it as a backdrop for pictures. Theres never very many people here so I often see people walking their dogs off leash. Ive seen plenty of tiny frogs, newts, a great variety of birds, even a beaver here. There is a stretch of rail trail that starts on one side of the park. Nice quiet place to get a quick nature fix.
Its beautiful and quiet.
Love it here, peaceful and beautiful nature walks
I hope it will be really great when they finish cleaning it up. Right now the trails need some cleaning and grading, and some stop abruptly where bridges used to exist. Also the bathrooms arent open. But they have been working on it...
Very peaceful great place for a small picnic or a larger family get together, be prepared is a park not a venue. Beautiful waterfalls, very scenic very polite staff.
Beautiful park environment! Nice & peaceful and clean area with accessible trails. Just happened to be driving by with the family and we all agreed we wanted to stop and meander about a bit and really provided a wonderful for the family to spend some time together outside during winter months on a gorgeous sunny Saturday!
Had a nice date lol
Howe park has always been a great secluded escape. From fishing to photography, hiking and biking, and fixed grills to make lunch, this hidden gem has been a long time favorite for generations. Slip some time aside to stop by and relax to the sounds of nature. 5 min from route 9 Spencer. Grab a sub, park and take a walk and enjoy a gift from the past.
Well maintained. Awesome grills available for use.
Pretty poorly kept park, not bad for taking a walk in the woods tho.
This used to be an amazing place about 20 years ago. We would plan a family day on a Saturday and/or Sunday pack up the kids and go out for the day swimming, have a picnic lunch, or a BBQ, go fishing, and hunting, it even had a couple trails if you enjoyed nature walks, you could even just sit back watch/listen to the waterfall for some solitude. But due to unfortunate circumstances over the years the town lost its funding to keep it open. Year after year, sadly the place has became an overgrown pond with a waterfall. Although it still has a few nice trails to walk if you enjoy hiking..
Nice cozy place
Love hiking here. Been coming since I was a kid.
When I was a kid this park has swimming, hiking, and lifeguards in the summer. They built a brand new, huge bathroom. Then the water became contaminated and theres no swimming. I give it 3 stars based mostly on nostalgia. Theres still decent hiking trails, but thats about it. Also, theres no trash cans, so it gets littered a lot. Theres also no pet waste disposal, so watch where you step...
Great hiking trails.
Great park for kids!
Love this park.wish it would get more attention to the facilities and water
