Stopped here for the 1st time after passing it by for years. It was a warm California winter day. Beautiful views. I brought my dog and his toys and we strolled down the trail. Farmer was tilling the land just east of the trail and helicopters were treating a field just to the north. Hustle and bustle of the bay. But I still had the solitude I was looking for. I didnt see any signs about no animals. If thats a rule it isnt visibly posted. Is it worth an excursion just to visit only this place?...maybe not. But if you have some time as you are passing through. Absolutley stop and hang out a while. Ill try the whole trail next time.
Has pretty much everything you need. People are mostly friendly makes you feel wellcome.
This is part of the Sonoma wetlands. It truly is beautiful here. There are so many different types of birds to watch and fishing your into that type of thing. Its off hwy 37.Some parts of it is water...like a lake...this particular spot is a little water and more muddy...still many birds to see and watch..Bring binoculars if you plan to bird watch...Very peaceful...there are lots of trails to walk...benches to sit on...Nice place to visit if you like this type of thing.
A little over grown. To be honest, there was a lot less trash than I thought there would be though, so yay to all the folks who havent littered there.
The park itself is not well maintained, there really isnt much to do here unless you are an ornithologist. If that is your thing there are quite a bit of species of birds here. Bring some binoculars and/or some telescopic camera lens and enjoy the birding. Otherwise if you want to run, hike or bike go somewhere else.
My mother has always told me how misunderstood I am and how ahead of my time I am.Well, here is yet another review proving just that.Trails should be made everywhere so people can walk off the beaten path of our concrete jungle lives and find ourselves among the reverie of our most benevolent host and provider, Mother Nature HerSelf. The solace and healing solitude of sounds given to us freely, such as crickets chirping and bird song, as well as the sound of the wind and water flowing are beyond measure. Priceless. To see those other Earthlings we share this beautiful planet with, and how they live their lives so simply, and so graciously, never taking more than they need is for us a reminder of how life on Earth needs to be lived. So hiking up these trails are no less than a majesty of beauty, and for me, the greatest treasure.I find my greatest inspiration in the wild. When my body is laid sick, I can lie down on the fallow Earth and heal beneath the Sun and the branches of our benefic trees.Oh and the trees, how these trees give homes to so many and shelter from the blistering heat waves we have had of recent.I am likened to say that we humans need to spend way more of our time focusing on what gives us joy and protecting that, as opposed to what we fear we wont have if we do not destroy it.
A very nice place, pick up some litter!
Beautiful place when its not raining.
This trail seems to be on the way out. Its completely eroded away on the Bay so there is no loop any more.
Nice place for a walk
Beautiful, no dogs allowed even on leash. I understand why, but was sad to not be able to take my pup for a walk in the tidal marshlands. That being said - it’s awesome for bird watching and there were kayakers out there, so I think it is probably a pretty awesome place!
Very dry and barren. Nice bird sanctuary, but path is very overgrown.
Very set back. A fun hiking spot
Nice place to take a rest break at.
There was a ton of construction going on beside what we think was the trail when we were there. The view of the marshlands were still very beautiful but it was pretty dusty and the view away in the direction away from the marsh was an active earth moving site.
Half of the meat market staff had hickeys on their necks. Super professional
Would like to visit again.
