Its cute and calming! I wish there was more plant life, its mostly grass and trees.
We love this park. It is beautiful in every season. There are multiple events held here throughout the year. You can stroll along the rim of the park and enjoy porch fest. Kids go sledding in the winter. Tight rope walkers and other groups use the trees for training. I have seen wedding parties and other groups taking pictures. There are multiple food establishments so you wont go hungry. The park could use a small bathroom. It is popular with people who like to lay in the grass all day. And it could use places for flowers. Over all it is a wonderful place to spend the day.
Awesome little historic park
One of the more tranquil spots in Somerville. Its a good place for picnics or just sitting under a shade tree. It has some real historical significance as well as the whimsical statues and plaques scattered around will tell you.
Such a nice place to sit and watch the world turn.
Its a very nice spot to either sit on a bench, relax, walk a dog or mosy around just a bit. Its not big at all, you can walk through rather quickly, 5-10 min or so or choose to walk along the varying small paths and perimeter to see the whole park or go up to the tower or around the actual powderhouse building and hill area or just stroll along the grassy sides or even walk among the beautiful trees there. It is small enough to see it all in minutes but big enough to feel like youve got some breathing room in the city. Very peaceful place, historic and beautiful also.
Great for a picnic, shade or sun
A beautiful park that, despite its size, has delightful nooks and crannies to explore and relax in
A great place for The Mayors picnic.
A quiet out of the way park for family to play and enjoy nature
Surprisingly nice park for its size. Not over landscaped like many small parks.
Great park
Nice for a short break if you are in the area. Peaceful neighborhood park, full of history and charming cottage of old times.
Theres a neat tower and some rocks you can climb. Good environment
Fabulous park frequented by lots of theatre folk
As a kid growing up at my Grandmothers home on 268 Willow Ave. Powderhouse park was one of my favorite places to play for safe fun, rock climbing and playing football at Tufts University. My Dad Uncle David and Danny are proud graduates of Somervile High School. As a student I had opportunity to attend historical Brown elementary school
Amazing
Classic. Somerville. Worth a walk if youre nearby.
Lovely park in a lovely neighbourhood.
Find the black squirrels! Also, Im so happy someone made this into a park.
Great little park, love walking here
Nothing for kids except dangerous rocks for kids to climb
Nice park, not too far from the T either.
Nice park with fun statues. The traffic is really loud, though.
Good park to read in the shade, picnic, take the dog, nap, etc
Peace of Mind
Beautiful greenspace right in the midst of West Somerville
Beautiful, rolling hills, rocks, topography, capped by antiquated military buildings and stone turrets. Shady and restful.
A piece of history
Cool.
