IT WAS AMAZING... IT WAS SO PROFESSIONAL.. THE KIDS.. THE DOG... THE MUSIC WAS OUTSTANDING... ALL GREAT SINGERS AND DANCERS.. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AND ENTERTAINED.. THANK YOU FOR THE EXPERIENCE ♡
One of the coolest things remaining in Shreveport
Always enjoy going to the Strand. They have a very versatile selection of shows each season, really something for everyone. So far this season weve seen The Army Band and A Christmas Carol. They have great snacks and drinks and the ushers are always so polite and fun! Highly recommend a visit.
I would of gave 5 stars, but the seating is so cramped and Im an extremely small petite person so you could imagine for other sizes. The steepness of the seating is uncomfortable on your knees you definitely will need to walk around at intermission. I did love the musical I saw there The Color Purple!!! Awesome show definitely would go back, but Id pay for side balcony seating.
Attended the NY city Broadway Musical stage play of The Color Purple! A wonderful experience surrounded by beautiful historic artistry! A must go to if touring Shreveport in North Louisiana!
We went to see the Home Free Christmas concert. This was our first time at The Strand Theater. It was a great venue and the concert surpassed my expectations.
Always so beautiful. Were so lucky it was restored and is used often.
This is a great venue for concerts and plays. Built in the 1920s, it has great history and architectural design. The acoustics are so good, that Richard Marx went totally unplugged and sounded as good as the audio enhancement during his concert. There is a cocktail area, bathrooms on both levels, and the friendly volunteer staff helps you find your seat.
I enjoy the Strand, they have a top notch place. I feel so special when I go there. Its a really great place.
Very beautiful theatre. The architecture and decor is absolutely stunning, especially the chandeliers and balconies. I went here for the 2018 Christmas symphony and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The sound quality and the view was great, even if you sat in the back. The chairs could do with some padding on the arm rests, just to make extended shows more comfortable to sit during. Overall, the theatre is great.
The Strand is awesome to experience. The architecture, the majesty, the history. Its one of those places that you have to see to believe.
Beautiful old place, love going here and would have given it 5 stars but parking is a problem.
Nice place and very well maintained. The one thing that could have made it better is if the seats in the upper level were replaced with ones that would accommodate a larger person. Row spacing is another issue for taller people, however that would require a lot more than just swapping seats.
A wonderful historic theater, you can see everything from ballet and theater to exclusive music concerts.
Beautiful building. I love every show that I get a chance to see!
Enjoyed color purpleNeeded more leg room. Seating is very tight
Went there to spamalot and the show was wonderful. The seats were comfortable and our view was great. The staff was very kindThey helped us get to our seats effortlessly. The theater was a bit warm. I had to roll up the sleeves on my dress shirt. The bathrooms were ok size but clearly needed some updates to the fixtures. I did not purchase any drinks so I will not comment on them. All in all I liked my experience, i recommend you see a show there, and like all things there is some room for improvement was mentioned above.Thank you for reading and I hope this helped.
Beautiful historic venue, not a bad seat in the place no matter the show
Had an amazing time here at a comedy show that much hurts put on the simple Church. First time being at the strand theater. It was really nice. It wasnt too hot and it wasnt too cold. The sound system was screwed up that night though and we couldnt understand a lot of what the comedian was saying. We saw Michael j
The Strand is beautiful, the event was inspiring, and most of the staff were very nice and helpful.
This place is a wonderful Shreveport treasure and Im happy I was able to take my nephews to see the symphony do the music of David Bowie.
Beautiful venue, tried to work out a show with ownership but like another corporately owned management company in the area...the charges just go on and on and on. Even when their services arent needed in certain areas, they make you take them to charge those premiums. Found what we needed at another venue.
Ailey II was fabulous! Loved it!
Such a beautiful historical theater built in 1925!
This beautiful building has a lot of history. Ive been coming here since I was a child to watch all the amazing plays and performing arts they have here.
Like its sister the Perot theatre in Texarkana this is simply an enchanting venue for a performance!!!!
GREAT AND BEAUTIFUL THEATRE. Even with a full house, I was still able to see the stage easily!
As a shining gem of the Shreveport area the Strand Theatre offers great cultural enrichment opportunities. From acrobats to ballet this establishment never disappoints me. This is building was brought into existence in the early 1920s and as a consequence leg room is quite limited so take this into account when you come (do not expect hassle free egress to the facilities). Despite the size limitations the theatre is beautifully adorned with chandeliers and murals that dazzle the eye, and the acoustics of the building ensure that everybody can appreciate the sounds offered from the stage.
Absolutely beautiful inside. Not A bad seat in the house.
I had an absolutely wonderful experience here, everyone was extremely helpful. Its a 4 hour drive from where I live and I couldnt find my tickets the day of the event. The manager, Jennifer, was key in helping me resolve the issue so we could still attend. While there, everyone was kind and professional. It would be worth the 4 hour drive to attend any event here.
Loved it. Jefferson Starship was excellent. Great time . Great place.
This is a beautiful building! They have such great shows here.
I love the Strand! Never had a bad expereince.
Took 5 yr old grand daughter to see Daniel Tiger. She loved it. The building is an historic work of art. Awesome staff. Something for everyone.
Cool old place
Beautiful interior. I always enjoy visiting the Strand.
My granddaughter performed in a dance program. The Stand is a beautiful venue
Our third visit, this time on the balcony for SPAMalot. Great venue, great show!
Beautiful old theater. Comfortable seating. Cozy feeling.
I always enjoy the SSO concerts here. Beautiful theatre.
They made us stand in the lobby shoulder to shoulder, stomach to back until 15 minutes before the show started. It was not very comfortable and they gave no reason for the delay. Also, the restrooms are down stairs and no elevator was available for the elderly or disabled.
Only 1 star and you dont deserve that got my tickets was seated by usher then asked to move got that then they tried to reseat me again so I just left last 103 they will ever get from me more will be on YouTube and facebook
Everybody should support the Shreveport Strand Theater. Great place for an outing for the evening
The orchestra Was amazing, the theater is clean and everyone was very helpful
Whether want to see a show or see spirits defiantly give this beautiful place a visit
Beautiful venue, we attended the Opera presentation of Westside Story. Great show and wonderful staff
Almost 100 yrs old, shes a grand old girl. Magnificent architecture.
Beautiful historic theater, but the will call setup is confusing at first and not efficient. Once inside, staff were mostly friendly and the concessions moved at a steady pace considering how many attended the ballet.
Great I really enjoyed
Really enjoyed the concert. But the seating is horrible. The chairs are so close that if your over 54 your knees will be literally crushed by the seat in front of you.
Love the classic look and feel of this theater
Beautiful, historical place!!!
Beautiful place to share memories with those you love.
Had a good time
It was a great performance by the BYU IDAHO PERFORMERS. Just dont take babies. Everyone has to pay including babies.
Awesome, historical place. The architecture is amazing. You need to see a show here.
Was there a mouth are so ago was there and I had forgotten how beautiful it is in there.
Wonderful performance I cant wait for the next one !!!
Beautiful venue historic place
Seats too narrow and uncomfortable. Concert was great.
Seating is a little small and dated but other wise a good venue for a small concert.
Very nice place. Service is also excellent. Only reason its not 5 stars is the concession lines are a bit long.
The strand is always a fabulous place to go
Great shows! Very comfortable and friendly place! Truly historic Shreveport!
Nice intimate little venue. The rest rooms are clean. They have drinks as in alcohol.
Love this historic old theater. Great shows!
Beautiful venue and spectacular show. Only problem was how cramped the seating was. I am average sized, but in there I felt like Shaq.
Love everything there! You see some of the same things that Dallas/Ft Worth has which saves you a trip.
We didnt know this place existed. The theatre was amazing. A must see historical landmark.
Beautiful venture. My only complaint was it was a little warm.
I regrettably take off 2 stars for the sheer discomfort of the seating. I am 59 and my mother-in-law is barely 52. We sat in the upper level balcony seats, which were quite the hike to get to. I didnt mind that so much (though I wouldnt recommend getting these seats for any elderly or handicapped guests as the steep stairways are the only option), but there is absolutely no leg room whatsoever. Even my little 100lb mother-in-law was quite cramped. For such a beautiful theater, I sure hope the comfort of the seating is comparative to the price of your ticket (ours was the least expensive option). I would hate to pay triple to be closer and just as uncomfortable. It really distracted me from the wonderful performance.
Gorgeous theater. Amazing shows. Fantastic staff.
Great place, beautiful theatre whenever I go I love to dress up beautifully
My first visit to the Strand beautiful theatre and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Hope to visit again.
Who could not enjoy such a marvelous theater that opened in 1925 with a price tag of 1 million dollars. If you have not been here you are missing something special.
A true diamond in the ark-la-tex. Beautifully restored 1920 theater that hosts dozens of broadway quality shows annually.
Saw a fantastic performance of Riverdance at this grand and beautiful Strand theater
Beautiful historical theatre. Great sound quality throughout.
Phenomenal performance by the metropolitan ballet!
I love this classic theater. Do however spend the extra money to get seats on the floor, extra leg room...
Renovated, Authentic
Enjoyed the performances by the high school choirs
Breath taking inside!
Beautiful facility. The staff is welcoming and very helpful.
Amazing theatre with amazing shows.
Great theatre, alot of historical atmosphere.
Beautiful performance space, and a wonderful venue for touring shows!
Awesome nutcracker experience.
This venue is top notch seen rent it was wonderful
This theater is beautiful but the staff is RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!! We went there for play on a field trip with the schools. It was very unorganized and the staff was so rude they were not helpful I cant believe that there are actually good reviews on the staff listed here... either those reviews are written by the staff themselves or we had an entirely different staff this day our school will not be going back the Strand Theatre for any more events.
Its ok but its old and the chairs are small
