Power Play is an indoor arcade, restaurant and ride place which is geared for kids 5 to 16 years old. There is a section with rides for kids 36 to 48 inches tall. There is a full size Tilt-A-Whirl. There is a bowling alley. There is a movie room where they play classic Disney films. There is a buffet. There are birthday party rooms. There is laser tag. There are fast go-karts. They have traditional bumper cars. There are lots of arcade games. They even have a funky arena which is a cross between bumper cars, jai-lai and basketball. Surprisingly, there is even a full service bar for parents.All told, this place was built to be a good time for kids of most ages. It is nice to have this facility nearby as a good indoor option.

Fun for all ages. Go carts. High wire walks. Indoor rides. Arcade and skill games to earn tickets for prizes. Solid buffet with variety. Prices are reasonable but can rack up quick. Be sure to ask about specials. Wheelchair friendly. A little dated but still very fun.

Had lots of fun playing all the different games, and getting prizes after. The Birthday party room was spacious, and the set up was good. It turned out great. Everyone enjoyed their time.

Fun place for kids. There are so many things to do, games to play, including a buffet, go carts, toddler section, bowling alley and even a bar for adults.

Location was easy to find with ample parking. Everything was pretty clean and there was an employee within eye sight to help if you had any issues. Kids were having a good time and there is a wide array of activities. A full bar for the adults was a PLUS. The Power Play card system is easy to use and so much more convenient than physical tokens and tickets. The VR was the coolest activity I thought. Overall, I thought it was a good place for a few hours of fun.

Good place to take the kids. We had a blast as usual. The buffet is pretty descent and you cant complain too much when there is unlimited slushes involved. There is always a movie playing to watch while eating. The arcade is a blast!

Kids had a great time they are very young so mostly hung out at the indoor playground. They loved the train.

This place is always a lot of fun. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are a wide variety of games and rides. I love that you can use your points for almost everything. They are pretty good about adding new additions and keeping up with maintenance as well.

We booked the extreme birthday package which was a good deal. Our party host would disapper and would not keep us informed on what was going on and the party room was hot. But other than that the attractions and game selection was great. The kids had a great time.

WARNING: Disgusting AF. My 8yr old niece had her birthday party here. The games are old and have different things missing from them. The coin horse, by the bathroom should be removed because it cuts little kids as soon as they get on ( my son had two cuts...Im assuming something on the handle did it). The womens bathroom was...despicable AF as well. There was piss all over the toilet seat in one stall and, the stall I chose to utilize had NO toilet paper buh, instead an already used feminine pad was shoved in there...I, unfortunately, was the person who mistakenly grabbed it!! I reported the incidents to the woman at the main desk...Still dont know what tf she has done about it...As a mother, there are better and way cleaner places to have a birthday celebration for your child at. Please think this place through thoroughly before reserving it for any event (where you care about others involved in the event).

This is probably the worst time in here. Its super hot in therefor the kiddos, no AC the bathroom are horrible, smell bad, the whole new area is just super old and new renovations, we came here like 7 years ago and we had so much fun it was great,not its just old and smelly, hot.. just not much fun for the kids.

Yes, you can come here for the arcade games and attractions. But the real diamond in the rough is the buffet. Every once in a while you find a gem but nothing like this. The spread is plentiful and the variety of the food is unbeatable. I’ll set the record straight, I don’t come here for the games but for the buffet. The Hispanic people running the kitchen know exactly what they are doing and I cannot stress this enough. There is something for everybody here and your taste buds will thank you. If you don’t want soda, they have icee machines. If you don’t want the pizza, they have pasta. If you don’t want quality food, then stop reading this review. As a final remark, I’d like to thank power play for keeping the buffet down to a reasonable price. No matter how full I get, I will always come back hungry for more.

This place was pretty awesome. Lots of fun to be had for what I feel is a fair price. My kids and I cant wait to go back. I wanted to comment about the staff though. Some of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, but there were a few running attractions that werent helpful and overall seemed bored or even frustrated. Theres enough fun to be had here to easily overlook this.

Wish there was a zero star on here. Brought nephews that live out of town. All they really wanted was to ride the go karts. Girl at front desk told us about July specials. And we bought 2 $30 cards that included the arcade games, VR and go kart for 2 hours. We walked by the go karts and it looked like the track was being worked on so they played a couple of games and then went to ask at the front desk and they said the go karts wouldn’t be working until about 3. I said well we only bought two hours and we would be done by 1. We asked if there was some kind of refund since we bought the 2 hours that included go karts. She went and asked “him” whoever that was and they said no no refund since we had already played some games. Would have been nice if the girl that sold us the two hour for $30 would have told us that the go karts weren’t working. NEVER will be back here again. They just care about the money and not about customers.

What can i say about power play other than it is just an amazing place for the kiddos to go have fun. I wish however they had a specail time where kids could go on the weekend evening and not get ran over by drunken adults acting like fools. However all in all they do a good job of keeping the riffraff to a minimum ! There buffet is pretty good for it being part of an arcade and stuff. The go carts are great for the little ones as well.

Really really fun place to go Ive gone lots of times also I went with my school which was really cool. The food is nice and games. Laser tag wasnt the best but go carts was really fun.

The atmosphere is great! However I would try and renovate the entrance and some new games inside, there was a lot of games that was off or not working. Just an overhaul would be fantastic

Wow! Power Play is super fun for the games and the atmosphere, but the real winner is the buffet! I was super impressed with the variety and the freshness of the food. AND everything was good too!! I’m so impressed and I will be back often!

My children had an amazing time here. The food was great. We spent hours running around with plenty to do. Had 12 girls n 3 boys here for a birthday party ..... Thank you for this amazing place that caters to both children and adults. The buffet was the highlight

They closed on a Saturday for a private event. We drove an hour and a half to visit. A business that maintains sporatic hours should not advertise their hours on Google without posting a call ahead disclaimer. The employees suggested that we drive another 45 minutes to their other location . Yea let me get right on that. We will never make that mistake again.

Im 76 years old and I had some reservations about coming here. Not anymore. There is something for everyone. There is an arcade area, a buffet area two dodgem car tracks, a few bowling lanes, and a bar. Lots of neon to warm up the venue. Enjoy!

Affordable, interactive games and play place for toddlers. We put $20 on a cardand spent 2 hours keeping up with our 4 year old. The play place is great for letting them burn off energy.

I will never go there again. The kid zone was a zoo. Kids with no socks climbing around. Kids with shoes on climbing around. SOCKS people nobody wants your kids germs. DIRTY place the restrooms were disgusting.

This place is literally a joke. It was dirty and there were quite a few games that did not work. Employees acted annoyed to help. When we paid for our points the cashier was on face time with a friend talking walking around with phone in hand while she helped us. Don’t waste your money. Main Event is 100% better.

Its a great place to go when the weather is bad outside. Unfortunately the crowds of kids and the age groups dont mix well. We have been here twice and will likely be back again but short visits.

Best ever!! If its a rainy day I recommend this place!!! I however do not recommend there high ropes. The rope your tied to stops and gets stuck while you are up there. But the laser tag is great and has an original way to play it!!! There are fun arcade games, and even virtual reality!!! I however recommend going to the Dr first because you will have as much time as possible to play it!!! Hope you choose to go to this wonderful and fun place weather its just you or with your family!!!

They have all kinds of games that you can play. The place is safe to be around.

Decent selection of video and redemption arcade games. The new VR game is pretty fun as well! We love to go bowl a game or two as well. Pricing is reasonable for most attractions. Employees are mostly young kids, but they are helpful when needed. The buffet is pretty good, but nothing to write home about. Go-karts arent bad for younger kids, but I recommend Power Play North for adults wanting to kart. Redemption payouts are pretty average based on their selection. Dance games are well maintained and in good condition.

This is a very fun place for the family! It is fairly expensive as most places like these are, however, the excitement on the kids faces is definitely worth it. My only complaint is that the place is kind of dirty.

Love taking my son here he never gets bored plenty for the kiddos to do if you just need to have a fun night out. I would recommend getting the wrist ban because if you don’t want to eat all of your food right then and there. I did make this mistake once buying the buffet that does not allow re-entry after you eat

Fun place for kids. Good place to have birthdays.. its right between Chuck E Cheese and Dave and Busters. Usually always a good amount of people there. This year vs last year they seem to have hired more staff which I was thankful for since last year there were times we were hunting for someone to operate a ride and didnt have that issue this year.

This is the best arcade in all of Kansas for music games. All the best players frequent here other than myself, simply because I live 40 miles west of the place. Some people complain that its hot, but I honestly dont care

Had my Nieces Birthday party done there. There was 1 person assigned to her party who did everything. She served the kids their food and drinks, etc. then she took the group of kids around to all the attractions that are included and stayed with the kids the entire time, then after all of that was done the kids were given their own cards and were able to go off freely to go play games, etc. All this and much more was all included in the party price. It was so stress free for all us parents. They were very friendly and they did an excellent job too.

I always love coming here with my daughter. It is family friendly with lots of entertainment. They also have a buffet here too if you get hungry.

The toys you can win or get for the tickets youve collected are the crappiest toy you can possibly find. Also claw games are invalid for grabbing. We visited many different arcades and this one (and a similar one nearby) are the greediest ever.

We recently had my sons 7th birthday party at Power Play in Shawnee. We did it on a Thursday evening because that was the day of his birthday. It was also less expensive and not crowded at all. He had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it. The kids were all entertained and everything ran smoothly thanks to our birthday hostess. I would highly recommend this location for a party especially on a weeknight.

Best deal on fast go carts, grand prix in Raytown has a better track and faster cars, but for the money power play is just as fun.

Cheap buffett and good deals on the games! The children love it here. Plus they have a bar in the bowling area for adults to enjoy

Absolutely the worst experience when trying to host a birthday party. They try to charge you for a buffet because they say the only way to get to a private room is to go through a buffet. Absolutely lies! The buffet is on the other side of where the private rooms are! They overcharged for WhirlyBall. And they promised you different items to get in the door to bring a party. Absolutely lie to you about everything that you must do to bring a party in there! If you have an option to go here or go to Chuck-E-Cheese I dont care if youre 60 years old or 7 years old. Go to Chuck-E-Cheese dont use these people whatever you do to plan a party

2 years in a row of false advertising on their unlimited package, which was made clear to me at entry that my child could do everything unlimited times. Come to find out this is limited to activities and ARCADE games, of which we had no interest. After leaving the cafe area, my wife was forbidden from going to get a WATER from the machine. Deceptive and unfriendly, will never see another cent from me.

Had a 7th birthday party here and it was great! They got to do so much stuff, the kids had a great time and the party heros were amazing! Highly recommended.

I booked a party for my 2 childrens 11 year old birthday party, our party room was over 80 degrees. The cupcakes melted before we could eat them, the children and all of us adults felt like we went swimming in our sweat. The pizza was not ok, seemed like it was holding in a warm box for a little to long. The arcade games seemed like they worked but once we swiped our cards it took the points to play it and then didnt work. There was hardly any staff working. The prize counter was never open. We had to track someone down to redeem what points we could get from the games that did work. Once we tracked someone down, a employee accused one of the kids from my daughter bday party of stealing a toy she had already bought with her points. It was the worst experience I think my children, the adults at the party and I have ever encountered. I will never return to power play.

Its a good place but some games do not work

You got teenagers running a place in a almost airconditioned room, they are doing the best they can. So its needs a fix up and a deep clean but its not bad, a facelift wouldnt hurt... it would probably bring in more business. Also for the love of god turn down the volume on the capcom vs. Street fighter its ear splitting its at old man listening to the weather loud. But the tilt-a-worl *kisses fingertip* amazing I almost lost my lunch in the best possible way.

Like a chuckee cheese or arcade with buffet. Good games and things to do. Was understaffed and couldnt ride some of the attractions when I went. The food was just awful to a level that I cant really describe. I was able to choke down the salad.

A little dirty and some of the games were out of order but it is still an awesome place. Tons of games and their laser tag is a blast. Prices werent bad and we got a boat load of tickets. However the selection of prizes was somewhat lackluster.

Wasnt a huge fan....for what it costs to play games, they dont seem to keep up maintenance on really anything. Games are broken, bowling lanes are warped, bathrooms are pretty dirty. For the 2 hour deal, you cant earn tickets, so your game choices are very limited. The 1st time we went, our daughters were able to ride the tilt a whirl, the last time we went, they said they were too small. That was the main reason we went!! Huge disappointment. Food isnt great, but for what it costs, they should have a larger selection. Lastly, the staff usually isnt around the rides, either they are one person working multiple rides or they are all gathered in the back talking to their friends. Needless to say, we wont be going back. I gave 2 stars because there were some staff members that were very nice.

It was my first experience there. My grandson and I had the buffet which was good then we had a blast the entire day. My favorite was being able to sit together at a game and shoot dinosaurs!

There are tons and tons of video games, although some of the games like the claw machines didnt work. I would also recommend that you should try the buffet, their food is delicious!

The games are great and they had alot to offer but I was very disappointed in the customer service. Everyone looked like they hated to be at work. They over booked our birthday party reservation and didnt even apologize just gave us a bigger room but no one ever came to say hi or this is how this works basically had to wing it ourselves.

I went here for my best friend’s Bday party and it was AWESOME I rode go karts and played arcade games. I had SOOO much fun! Thanks for the experience!

This is really fun for kids and teens. As an adult I find it a bit loud and the food is pretty horrible, but overall a nice variety of entertainment.

Power play...it is hit and miss for me. Depending on the day and the event. I do not think they handle large events well. The kitchen cannot keep up and it seems like they over book. Reeeeeeeeally good french fries and chicken fingers. The little circular roller coaster that spins you is da BOMB! I give five stars because my kiddos always love it.

It was fun there was a lot of things to do in stuff but my favorite thing to play is the Skee-Ball the Skee-Ball kept giving me different numbers of balls that I was always missing like four or five balls and stuff it was crazy fat I upped a couple Stars just because the manager which was frustrating having to go find them all the time but he did come over like three times and then he finally just gave us like app for a free few rounds of the game. I went to play on those racing games and two or three of the cars that we tried to play on was felt like it was out of power steering and just wasnt working right which was a bummer one of the cars that we tried to play on the steering will literally had no tension to it it would twist all the way around so you couldnt really steer it felt like you had no power at all in the steering wheel and then the other one was just jerking and was like it was off its track or something

You can pay 25 cents for water or drink from their busted water fountain that shoots just enough that u can mouth it along with everyone else in Merriam. Wont ever come back to this place rip off... Childrens go carts didnt work either... pathetic

Very poor. I will be sure to never come to this location again and I will be sure to let my family and friends know not to come here either. I went and got the deal for food and games. the food was horrible that my two kids did not eat their food or touch the sweets. it was not very well kept. so we went to play. half the games were out of order and the ones that were on were poorly kept, for example one car game had black tape around the wheel. Also when you would run your card, it will take the points but wouldnt let you play. my Man wanted to play an attraction that should have been included in the deal and when he went to swipe his card it denied him and i was told that the game was not included. And when we paid to actually play the game it didnt work! and was just told sorry that it happens. very trashy and poor kept. if i could i would have asked for my $125 back.

Not much into playing the games but kids love them. Surprisingly the Buffet is excellent! Great variety, good food and extremely affordable. I mainly go after the Mexican food but the Italian area is real good to. Pizza, Mac and Cheese, tacos, nachos, shredded chicken, beef, caso, chicken nuggets fries salad....

A lot of fun! Plenty of games for everyone plus go karts. And skeeball that actually gives tickets to redeem for cheesy stuff. Pretty awesome!

We had a joint party for my two daughters and everything was fantastic and our party hero was such a sweetheart. I loved the manager was always checking on us to make sure my children and their friends were getting the full experience. We definately will do more parties there in the future.

This place, for lack of a better term, is a sh*thole. The staff was not friendly & did not want to be there. Everything was WAY overpriced. Our bowling shoes had holes in them. The bowling didnt work as pins werent resetting & the attendant that was working the alley kept leaving. The games are rundown & from the 1980s. Your kids will have more fun with a cardboard box.

It is always very fun and they are always trying to add something new the food buffet is great they have something for everyone.

Great prices, great service, and a great environment. I recommend this as a fun place to go for anyone between the ages of 4 and 94. There is a wonderful buffet, a wide selection of games, and a lot of fun attractions.

Couple games had some issues, and all the balls were mixed up in the skee ball area, but over all the kids had fun!
