I always enjoy the mini-California feel I get from Alki Beach and the shops that line the street. Individuals, couple, and families alike can enjoy renting out bicycles for individual riding or peddle carts for 4 from a shop across the way from the beach. Or you can get a fresh fruit smoothie, espresso, a cold pint of local beer, baked goods, or dine at a casual or nicer restaurant in the various establishments that run up and down the way. The beach itself offers a sandy expanse to either lay out on a towel or blanket to sunbathe, set up nets for beach volleyball, or head towards the bath house end where there are grassy section with some pavilions to rent for picnic events as well as picnic tables open to all on the grass areas.
Cool vibe. Instant time travel.. Rollerblading exists again and it feels like you are in California only its probably a lot colder. Can have fires till 11pm (think its closed at 8 and cant because of covid anymore.) Wide sidewalk to skate or walk babies down.. Sand for the fires, for chilling, or beach sports. Lots of restaurants overlooking the water. Down the street by the ferry, a great place to view the skyline. Lots of babes/skin on hot days. Winter kinda slow. Polar plunge on new years morning, recommend doing anytime in the winter. Its a shock at first but the air is warm when you get out. Its really refreshing.Worth checking out. If youre not going to have a fire, jump in the water, or go there when its warm.. dont travel too far is how I feel
Our favorite spot to visit all summer..Alki Beach!! We ate lunch, took walks in the water, and a nap on the sand and watched ferry boats pass back and forth. We stayed on the beach until 11pm. We had firewood but it was perfectly warm that we didnt need a fire. Me and my daughter really talked. We didnt do chores or watch TV or play video games. I did take a few pics of a perfect day in Seattle to be worry free and loving life.
Nice beach as always. Great food selection. Fires are permitted but will be put out by 9:30 but firefighters or police officers (due to the parks closing hours)
Best skyline view of Seattle. A must visit if youre in the area. I recommend coming here just an hour before sunset so you can catch both daytime and nighttime views.
The Alki beach park is one of my favorites for sunset! I visit here when I don’t want to drive too far out to get a glimpse of nature for inspiration! West seattle has so many such spots! It is a little less crowded than Alki beach itself. It provides the glorious view of the sun setting in the west behind the Olympic mountains. On the east end, you can see the space needle, though you can’t see the rest of Seattle’s skyline. There are many restaurants along the area(though many only offer take outs due to the current stay home, stay healthy orders). This is a great park visit in summer with family. I’d recommend carrying a light jacket, as it usually gets cool at night.
I honestly wouldn’t get in that water. It looked too dark and full with algae it’s really hard to find parking so what we did is park far and walked a lot but the view is really beautiful. We saw beautiful houses full of color and there are 2-4 wheel bikes and carts rentals, you can ride them and enjoy the views. Restaurants, bars with live music. You can sit and enjoy a beer while enjoying the beach view and that sky will have you mesmerized.
Please like review? Lovely time in the sunshine, wonderful view of Seattle. Alki Beach plenty of parking spots for a great walk, run, roller blading, biking, kayaking or hover-boarding; walk-ways are cemented.
Nice calm place ... the water is though not that clean but decent enough... we reached the place via water taxi and then took a free bus to reach the beach. The beach had some fine arts festival going on and we had a good fun visiting the festival and beach. While returning back, we took the bike to reach the water taxi place back.
I love coming down to Alki. This was my first experience seeing bonfires right on the beach. Day or night, I love the vibe on Alki. You can hang out at the boat launch, and get amazing views of the city, or go down the street and enjoy all the restaurants and beach. It seems like every day on Alki is a small car show of some kind. I enjoy riding my onewheel up and down the riding path, its a great way to explore Alki
Wonderful stretch of beach with a gorgeous view of the Seattle skyline across the sound. Lots of crows and seagulls if youre into those, which I am!
Always love Alki! Beautiful scenery, beautiful people, great food!! Only down side isa the parking situation. But more than worth the mild headache of peaking...
Beautiful views! Sunrise; Sunsets. Moon rise ; Moon sets.
Kind of deserted. With the west Seattle bridge out its a little hassle to get to from Seattle. Several places closed due to Covid. But peaceful and beautiful as usual
We love this place! the beach is always clean, and even on days when it’s busy it doesn’t feel overwhelming. they have lots of neat transportation options and restaurants to eat at. sometimes it can be hard to find parking but it’s honestly not any worse than anywhere else. the views are hard to beat! great place to hangout!
Everybody loves alkai beach its a great place to longboard or bicycle or pick up one of those bicycles that you and four of your friends can fit on and ride along the waterfront. they mostly have little restaurants but there are a few shops here and there. Its mostly residential area with killer views of the mountains and seeing the fairies coming in out and then on the other side of alki Beach you can see the city of Seattle and their port. I like going on the opposite side during low tide and checking in the jetty rocks for eels, fish, jellyfish, sea anomies and crabs. Its also a great place to throw a link if you play INGRESS.
Excellent place to bike, scooter, run, walk. Water front and great views of seattle downtown.
It was a peaceful and really well kept area. People were respectful and distanced themselves when walking . Very clean and soft sand . Ill say its a 5plus stars.
A beautiful sunny day in March so we headed to Alki Beach state park. Theres lots of placed to get a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. It was good to see so many people out enjoying the day. Definitely make this stop on your to do list.
Beautiful! I one side great looking condos and aptsOh the other downtown Seattle it was really a great view!
Absolutely fantastic beach and park. Beautiful scenery, everyone was very friendly and the park was clean. Highly recommended stopping by of you are on the area.
Incredible scenic beach park. Community fire pits that are environmentally safe. Located near easy to access food. Well identified crosswalks. Nice restrooms on site as well. A great place for those cliché, long walks on the beach... scenarios alone or with family.
Nice place to walk and rent bikes. Also, you can find great places to eat good seafood.
This is my favorite beach in Seattle, sometimes is hard to park in the summer or in the weekends but you always find parking around the neighborhood. There are a lot of options around to eat and get a drink.
Wonderful park to take a long stroll. West Seattle is a great area to visit, because you feel like youre getting away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle. Families come and have a picnic or hangout on the grass. Its a wonderful area. Parking is plentiful with cute restaurants walking distance.
Parking is free but we had to drive a little bit to find a spot. It’s a nice beach with lots of space and a great view! The water is cold.
One of the coolest spots in Seattle! Great Beach lots of people and food come e joy spectacular views of downtown Seattle in a summer atmosphere.
I love taking the pup to Alki and letting him sniff butts and chase birds
Favorite place to visit in all of WA. Very popular with always a lot going on. Cool cars lots of volleyball and lots of good restaurants! Definitely recommend to new comers to town!
Great beach, not much foot traffic this time of year. Mostly empty. (October 2020)
I have been to Seattle many times but never managed to make it West Seattle. We now have some Family that lives here so it was a great excuse to come over from North Seattle and enjoy some food and beer. It reminded me of a cleaner friendlier version of Venice Beach. Definitely worth the trip.
It was easy to drive to and park a few blocks away and walk up to the beach The beach itself is all covered in seaweed right now so you really dont want to mess with the water
One of the best beach parks in Seattle, WA. Its a happening place with many people jogging, walking, cycling, skateboarding etc. You could just go for a walk, relax, grab a beer and take a bite in nice eateries by the beach side.Sunset is beautiful. It has got spectacular view of the downtown over the blue water. Highly recommend!!!
The park is good with nice long stretches of sand beaches. Some present caveats though: the place seems to attract Coronavirus party goers (i.e, individuals denying the requirements to respect the effort of virus spread containment by wearing masks). The beach was quite packed. Still, fun was had. Take time to find parking. That is a weak spot right now. Nice that there are stores open to get food, incl. Ice cream (which I consider food).
It was fun, you can stroll for a long way, bike cars u can rent!! Although, dog owners need to read, no dogs on the beach.Tons of cafes and diners all along the walk!
Great spot to enjoy the beach and collect seaglass. Social Distancing exercised.
Great park in West Seattle. Love coming here all times of the year. Great place to walk, grab food, visit with friends, and people watch.
Was a bit trashed, but I was with a beautiful blonde so I was not really worried about that. It was late, or early, like I think 2 in the AM.My blonde girl is just amazing, so beautiful.
Gorgeous beach to sit and daydream. Or stroll. Lots of good spots for pictures
Beach is Mostly clean at all times. This beach is great around summer time when weather is clear, other seasons it will cold around the area. Water isnt clear here and even on summer season the water is cold. There is a miniature statue of liberty which is nice for a little photo op when in the area
Beautiful scenery! A major treat 4 the eyes and mind
Beautiful views! The weather was really cool, but still an awesome excursion
Great place to sit for a while and enjoy the sea sound and sand. Good eating places variety.
Closest thing in Seattle that has a California vibe! Cool beach. Actual beach part isnt that big. But you can walk along the water for miles! Pretty cool when its low tide!
Nice beach area with plenty of room to lounge or run around. Volleyball nets are a plus.
Such a fun beach to relax with friends. Not too crowded on weekdays, offers an amazing view of the ocean and we got to enjoy a breathtaking sunset! Theres also fireplaces available, but we had to get there at around 3pm in order to secure one, and it was a Wednesday. If you dont have a car the trip is not terrible either, only about 30-40 mins from downtown Seattle and there are various buses you can take to get there.
People fly down the main pedestrian path on bicycles - be careful if your walking your dog. They should put signs up!
I spent several hours walking the Alki Trail from Alki Beach Park to Jack Block Park and back. Lots to see and appreciate.Benches and tables, bike and pedestrian path with docks and piers to view the Seattle waterfront from.I saw a Harbor Seal resting on a bouy out in the middle of the bay.
First Ill just say I love Seattle. Still so much to explore. The beach was lovely, clean and friendly with cyclists, runners or walkers with their pets. Very convenient if you are also hungry with nearby restaurants. Nice if you are looking for a relaxing day. Would recommend dressing warm in the fall and early spring season. In the summer bring ton of water.
Its always a fun place to be. You can go there for sight seeing, restaurants, beach, walk, biking, rentals (multi bikes and more), picking, bbq. Etc. Great for young people, but also fun for families, and definitely couples! We like to pay at the end of the strip, past Cactus and walk all the way up towards Saltys. PS - parking is usually a challenge, get ready to make circles to find a spot.
Its just a relaxing place to walk, eat good food or just chill on a bench and watch the boats go by. Also, you cant go wrong eating at Christos. A family owned Greek restaurant that has never let me down on their food
Even though low clouds obscured the view across the water. It was still a nice walk with my GF.
Fun beach. Lots of seaweed and small rocks. Not a great location to lie out in but alot of fun for kids to play in the sand.
Great place... for Seattleites. Doesnt try to compete with the likes of California beaches. Many fun small businesses.
The best place to spend a sunny day in Seattle. Sand, beach, ocean, views of Seattle, the ferries crossing, seagulls calling, wakeboarders, inline skaters. Many great restaurants, after dinner sunsets over the Olympic mountains, and bonfires on the beach.
This is one of the famous beach in Seattle area with quite a view. You can see the space Needle along with the Seattle skyline. This place gets a lot of visitors. There is on road free parking but on a good day, it gets really busy and gets difficult to find on road parking. The beach area has some volleyball courts, on road public rest rooms. There are some good restaurants alongside this beach. There is even a Starbucks on this road. You cannot fish on this beach. Smoking and drinking I think is not allowed as well. A lot of crowd visit this place on sunny day. The view of the mountains is just amazing.
Great place to make memories. . .Very Eclectic & Diverse Atmospheres. . .Beautiful Views of the Olympics & The Seattle Skyline. . .
Great beach! But the homeless situation can be a little nearing.Don’t forget to bring water shoes for the sharp rocks on the beach.
Fun riding bikes watching volleyball tourney seeing boats and ferries go by.
Beautiful and very long beach. Parts have stones, parts have sand. Easy seal watching. Great views of Olympic mountains. Very Serene.
Always beautiful. One of the best views of downtown.
Hard to find a better place to enjoy a summer Sunday. Water kinda chilly but the rocks are warm!
Nice, Peaceful, quite, beautiful nice beach and sunsets for picture perfect photos at sundown. With less people at that time making me relaxed listening to the nice sound Of the waves of the water
Best spot for families. Our fav place. Grab some spuds. Play in water, tide goes out...find sea creatures. Get ice cream. Bathrooms are nasty tho.
Little California vibe in Seattle. Other than that it is pretty dope.
My favorite beach! You can practice all of outdoor activities, also try good restaurants, and the view of Mount Rainier, The Olympics, and the skyline is amazing too.
A beautiful place to visit with gorgeous views and a lot of food options. Easy to bring kids to and set ups for volleyball nets.
Love the board walk. Like the Bars & restaurants. Just finding a parking is bad!
Wonderful park with amazing views
Just An All Around Great Place 4 An Outing Wit The Family...
Love it here! Bring your cameras because you get a great view of Seattle. Oh and the sunsets are so beautiful. There is a little statue of Liberty, a lighthouse at the very end that you can tour on specific days, and plenty of beach for everyone. The only negative park is the parking can get pretty hard to find. Dont let that discourage you it is well worth it.
Parking in the middle of the street... Interesting. Quite windy. Not much of a view... The stone pillar says thats the birth place of Seattle.
This is a must stop! If you are visiting try and stay in an airbandb on alki beach! You can take the ferry to pike st. Market for 5$ each way! Check when the tide is low and collect sea glass, look for star fish and crabs! Great place to walk and relax!
This beach was very disappointing! We went there to relax and spend some time in the water. We knew the water would be cold but we were not expecting so much sea weed, the sea weed COVERED the beach and the entrance to the water. There are no trash cans anywhere making the beach dirty. There is a spot to rent some paddle boards, kayaks, and some other stuff. I do not recommend going here!
I went to checkout the AVA tournament. Beautiful beach and sorrounding community.
A great place to for a nice walk or a chill date to relax, like my photos? Follow me on my Instagram@steven_duong_photography
Great place for a stroll and some grub with nice scenery...just southwest of downtown Seattle. Only 10-20 min away, depending on traffic. Definitely a beach and laid back feel, thats just minutes away from the city. Great quick escape.
This is a beautiful place to go, many different little restaurants along the coast to choose from of course you CANT go wrong you have to go both during the day and evening.. truly relaxing and amazing
Cream and I loved it bonfires wish we had bonfires in California.
I like stopping by just to sit and people watch and enjoy the food
Beautiful area with tons of open, clean pebble beach with dark sand. There are nice local restaurants everywhere and a very well cared for boardwalk. My favorite part though is the view of Seattle across a crisp, mirror-like ocean waterway.
Super pretty and beautiful, nice place to relax in the morning and party later
Beautiful. Not the same since Covid, but nothing is. A few people were there, the beach is always wonderful, and fantastic view of Seattle.
Awesome day even though its cloudy out
So many things to do! A little crowded but many shops with activities and retail. They have biking, surfing, ice cream and more. Not many waves so perfect beach for a relaxing day out in the sun. There is also people playing volleyball for practice and tournaments in the summer.
If this place had kiosks and food trailers of Asian styles, it would be perfect. The city needs an Asian mayor.
Close to home, beautiful views, everyone in Seattles best kept secret so its very busy in the summer, one of the few places that youre okay to fly a drone between air traffic restriction zones.
So beautiful and amazing!!! Lots of space to spread out and enjoy the fresh sea air while social DISTANCING.
We love our local beach! (Just, you know, lets agree not to tell the tourists...)
Just ok to stop by and take pictures. May be good for BBQ picnic.
Beautiful place to take a long walk by the ocean!
Very nice a cool warm day people Having a great time socially and recreational
Great place to kick it day or night. Bonfires at night are a thing so dont trip.
Beautiful beach in Seattle. You can watch boats, people, birds or the clouds rolling by. If you’re lucky you might get to see seals or other natural beauties, btw the seals leave their pups on the beach sometimes while they go hunt, be warned, not to disturb them, they aren’t abandoned, they are just resting and they are legally protected. It’s the best beach in Seattle for things like making sand castles and picnics, enjoying the scenery, but the water is quite cold year round, of course during hot weather some folks do jump in, especially the kids but it’s not really a swimming beach. No life guards, no swimming area, seriously the water is cold, lol.Alki has a nice walking trail next to it and a lane for bikes, skateboards and pedal powered trolleys that you can rent. It has volleyball posts, fire pits, bathrooms and there are lots of little restaurants and coffee shops across the street in a strip that’s a few blocks long. Parking on the weekend is tight as the park fills up a bit, people like to cruise the strip in nice cars and motorcycles. Its the closest thing we have to a beach scene like you would find in warmer places, we just don’t really swim like you would in California. I’ll add better pictures another day. There are some great events that take place here throughout the summer, on those days it will be very crowded and your best best might be to take the Alki Water taxi over from downtown (a fun trip in itself, occasionally you’ll see whales) and stop for tacos at Marination Station then do the extremely long walk along the water to Alki Beach or catch a bus that runs along the way or grab one of the app based rental bikes that are lying about everywhere.
It was very nice great weather and kids had fun.
Really love it in winter were its not as full as summer. The beach is also clean-er. Its a really nice atmosphere and there a LOTS of cute dogs around (on leashes ).
