Great short hike perfect for kids took me and my 6 year old less than an hr. Has plenty of parking on parking lot, we where here on Saturday and wasnt to full. The only downside is that you see dog poop on the trail and in some places you can smell it is. Is not the park fault. Lets keep this place cleaned is garbage containers at the entrance of the park. Please pick up after you dogs!!
Serenity at its best during summer. Forest looks like a fairy tale spot. Small enough to complete the trek quickly.. But steep edges while walking.. Keep careful.
Short loop with an out and back if the loop isnt enough. Beautiful local old-growth hike for the weekends. Strange location behind businesses; I am envious of those lucky folks who work here and have access to this hike daily for lunch...
The loop trail has a lot of nice sights and is a great refuge from the heat in summer.
WARNING: STREET PARK ONLY. Greedy business has encroached on this park prohibiting non-employees to use their parking lot they stole from nature by bulldozing over nature. I received a tow/fine warning from greedy California Alliance for Health.
Awesome loop, beautifully hidden. Great for dogs!
Beautiful short hike!
Hidden gem with great terrain for a short, but beautiful walk.
Didnt go there.
Peaceful nice walking trails beautiful redwoods.... not crowded at all..
Beautiful, tranquil, and a nice hike for medium level hikers.
Dont go here! It is for us locals!
Amazing place!!
Beautiful trail!
Fun hike
Great walk up around the loop. Not too strenuous.
We went there today with the dogs. A good little hike, 20 minutes up, 20 minutes down.Hard enough to get some exercise, but not too hard. Perfect to get your hike on in Scotts Valley right by the highway. Theres a fire road at the top, so you can extend your hike longer if you want to..
Saw the UC Santa Cruz mascot - Banana slug. Beautiful redwoods
Nice little hike
Beautiful hidden treasure of Scotts Valley. Awesome loop through the redwoods and an amazing view of the valley from the top. Great place to take your pups too!
If you live in San Jose, this might be one of the closest hikes in redwoods you can get. Free parking and no entrance fee. I went with my 2 year old. She enjoyed it and was able to walk quite a bit, but held her hand tight- steep sides and some poison oak. Trail is nice and wide. Easily accessible, not far from freeway. We had a great time.
Lucky to have this park in Scotts Valley. Good place to walk. Good exercise too since the trails all go up to the top of the nearby ridge. Many people including friends of mine like to take their dogs there. Trails are only for walking, no mountain bikes, etc.. The views are mostly of tall redwood trees. Due to these latter, theres no vista point in the park, even with all the elevation gain on the trails.
Parking: The parking lot is embedded in a building complex where Green Hills Cafe is. So Id put the address for this cafe in your Google Maps/GPS to get to Lodato Park. The trailhead is adjacent to this parking lot and cul de sac that you enter the parking lot from. You can call the number listed on this Google marker if you have any questions about parking, like I did.Hike: Its a nice, easy-to-follow loop where youll encounter the redwoods soon after the trailhead and throughout the hike. Theres lots of trees along the hike, so lots of shade, too.
Hilly, shady walking. Some steep pitches, tree roots - not best for unsteady people. Great for dogs (note that many are off leash, though this isnt legal). Business park parking lot, though many local people just walk in. One trashcan at trailhead, no water or toilet.
Exceptional hiking trails! A hidden gem. I didnt want to post since its the type of place you want to keep hidden, haha. But its truly special and well worth a visit.
This is a great place near my work. Easy access for a lunchtime hike!

Nice walking trails.
This park has hiking trails only. It does not say that on Google Maps. It is out of the way and quiet.
Hike in a forest, fresh air, surrounded by nature
Great little hike loop
Best hike with your dog.
Great hidden spot for walking with dog.
Nice view
Great place to walk.
Great little hidden park but watch out for poison oak!
Tall trees but nothing special to see! ~30 min for a loop hike.
