We recently attended the production of “Vanya and Sonya and Masha and Spike.” It was the best repertory theatre performance we have seen, and we have seen many across the country. The entire cast was spellbinding. Don’t be fooled by the location of this little theatre. It’s first-rate.
I saw my first production at Savannah Repertory Theatre this past weekend (Driving Miss Daisy). The show and talent were wonderful! Based on my experience and talking with patrons before the show started and during intermission, this theatre consistently produces top notch plays with professional actors. Id highly recommend checking them out if youre a local or visiting. I look forward to seeing many more shows at Savannah Rep! :)
We are visiting Savannah for the Christmas holiday and my mom bought tickets for us all to go see ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. The cast and performance were delightful! A fun and enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. Highly recommend visiting this quaint theater.
Ive seen several very creative and spirited productions here. Nice mix of imported New York actors and local talent. Cool space, though tough to find the first time.
This was a superb production in the round. One could feel the time passing and felt as if one was right there with them. Terrific acting and smooth transition from one scene to another and one character to another. Well worth ones time!
What a great little theater...intimate, comfortable seats, and good acoustics. The play we saw was outstanding! What a gem we have here in Savannah.
We recently saw Driving Miss Daisy and loved it! The acting was quite wonderful. We went ahead and bought a seasons pass and are looking forward to the next show.
Great Theater with consistent wonderful productions. The most recent I attended was : The Legend of GA McBride a delightful surprise! A Fun Joyful romp that entices the audience to join the characters to expand their experience of love via a deeper acceptance of self and others! Our group thoroughly enjoyed it! I would easily see it again and its a must for anyone who enjoys live arts!
I had previously been to the Savannah Rep for Little Women, the Musical with my daughter. We thoroughly enjoyed that play, which led to purchasing tickets for Lombardi, which was also enjoyable, especially for my football-fan husband. The venue is in an unexpected location, being in an industrial section. Between my first play and this one, they have made several improvements, and it looks much more inviting, both inside and out. I highly recommend giving the Savannah Repertory Theater a try. The plays have been fantastic, and the casts have been stellar. We plan to become season ticket holders in the new season.
We attended the performance of Driving Miss Daisy and it was wonderful. Exceptional cast and such a good value for the ticket price. A few notes about the venue: concessions are minimal; there is no alcohol, but there are sodas, water, coffee and light snacks that can be purchased for a donation. There are two bathrooms, so I would try to go immediately when you enter the theater to avoid a queue prior to the performance. The theater is intimate and comfortable with no frills, allowing you to focus on the show. There didnt appear to be a bad seat in the house. Some of these details I couldnt find on the website or in other reviews, so I wanted to share for others considering a show!
Driving Miss Daisy is a wonderful show. All three actors are terrific. Id seen it years ago, and am glad I saw their production
Definitely loved this show, especially the main man (my Brother).. All characters were wonderful.
The performance was exceptional. The actors maintained character from rise through curtain call. The performance was poignant without getting maudlin. I rarely saw the characters acting ; this is exceptionally hard given the staging of the play. Well, done!
I would like to recommend this performing arts center to anyone seeking theatrical entertainment. Its the South so of course the hospitality is joyous and present like no other region so I will not linger my review about my warm welcome. I want to reccomend the rich and devoted staff and cast that is associated with this performing arts center. I enjoyed myself in the audience of The Legend of Georgia McBride. Real laughter and astonishment was experienced by watching the cast members engage within their talents. And yes I will return in the future because I am elated about the scheduled playbill for this year. Please come be entertained and support this Growing Performing Arts center.
Just recently found out about this place. Ive seen 2 plays so far and have not been disappointed yet. Please keep up the good work. And I beg you, keep the Thursday night shows as it is the only time I can attend!!!
Returned home after performance and watched original Broadway show and considered Repertory Theatre show its equal.
Great local theater just a short drive from downtown Savannah. Productions include everything from classics to lesser known plays with talented actors, producers, and behind the scene folks.
Everything about this company screams professionalism; from the guests to exceptional productions. This is the closest if not best thing you will get to an actual New York production in Savannah! Best way to experience for yourself is to give them a visit. I promise it’s worth it.

The show was terrific. The characters were so true and natural (especially the drag queen) but they all carried me emotionally through the entire show.
The Diary of Ann Frank was a fantastic performance. Thank you for bringing this important TRUE story to the stage in such a thoughtful and engaging manner. The acting was simply superb!
I saw Little Women. Im no theater expert, but the acting, the singing and what the production folks were able to do in such a small space - WOW! I thoroughly enjoyed the show and definitely will be going back to see more shows!
Really enjoyed your production of Lombardi. Truthful & believable.Superb acting!. Outstanding director guiding the creative actors.
Intimate venue, good performance!
Great entertainment! Will go again.
I took my 10 year old daughter to see Little Women, one of my all-time favorites. We both absolutely loved it! My daughter asked later to watch a movie of this, so we watched the 1949 version, and now she wants to read the book. Im so glad I introduced her to this classic. Thank you, Savannah Repertory, for sparking her interest. The talent was amazing-they all played the parts so well. I cried and laughed while watching them bring the characters to life.
Fine performances of a great play.
Little Women, the Musical was one of the best I’ve seen on/off Broadway. Kim Comacho has a powerhouse voice worthy of Broadway plus standout performances by the Professor and Amy March. The direction was particularly well done. Delighted to have an equity theater in Savannah and looking forward to additional superbly talented priductions!
Great performance in an intimate theater.
My wife and I just attended an outrageously funny production of the Savannah Repertory Theater at the Savannah Rep PLAYShop. The play, “THE LEGEND OF GEORGIA McBRIDE”, is the story of and aspiring Elvis impersonator who is in dire financial trouble. Because of a strange set of circumstances he finds his only chance for gainfull employment is as a straight member of a Drag Queen act. All I can say is that it seemed to me that everyone in the audience, young and old, greatly enjoyed the show, in fact about ½ of the audience got to actively participate in the show – doing so was strictly a matter of choice (and seat location). I strongly recommend that you try to see this show, and future Savannah Repertory Theater productions. This is the 3rd Savannah Repertory Theater production that we have seen this year, and all of them have been very good with outstanding acting – with the cast lead by one or more Actors Equity members. Actors Equity Association is the “gold standard” of Theater. I also should mention that at $25 for adults and only $20 for seniors and kids (I would rate either PG or PG-13), its probably the best live theater deal Ive ever seen. To the best of my knowledge this is the only “Equity” theater in the Savannah/Hilton Head area.
Saw the latest production (Diary of Ann Frank) and it was excellent. I will be back! Great cast, great job.
