Great venue for a concert! Lucas is beautiful and well kept. Acoustics are fantastic. Staff is friendly and efficient. We will definitely return for other events in the future.

What a beautiful little theatre! The view is great from any seat. They do have a small concessions counter that serves soda, candy, and beer. My husband and I stopped in for fright night! They had merch, live commentary, specialty beer and more! If your in the area and would like to have a nice little outing, I suggest stopping by and taking a movie break here!

Beautiful theater. We stepped back in time and enjoyed the archittecture and great performance. We took our kids to watch the Nutcracker, the performance did not disappoint and the seating was very comfortable. The consetions where well stocked and we enjoyed both wine and beer, along with the usual fair like popcorn, candy and soft drinks. The only thing that was surprising was the number of people who chose to move into empty seats at more expensive spots in the theater because not one was checking for tickets. We will definitely visit the Lucas again and hope to be regulars.

Always a great time there. Beautiful atmosphere. I watched a Apollo 11 movie that celebrated 50 years in space when I went with my daughter. It was more than amazing. Plus they had a guest speaker after the movie that was super knowledgeable. My 14 year old daughter left smiling and it left us both educated.

The Lucas Theater is beautiful. My child’s recital is held here every year and it’s a fantastic and enjoyable performance. The seating is comfortable, the bathrooms are always clean, someone is always available to help you find your seat or show you your way. There’s not a bad seat in the house. The only downside - which is no fault of the theater’s - is that parking around that area is very tight. Arrive early for whatever event you’re attending.

The Lucas theatre is beautiful, historic and just an amazing place and experience. I went to the World premiere of Outlander Season 4 there during the 2018 SCAD film festival.

We loved it. Beautiful theater, nice concessions, really good prices. Wish we could have sat in the balcony, but we had a wonderful time.

The Lucas is a Savannah treasure. Comfortable seating, accommodating staff and docents, beautiful structure. I saw Walt Disneys feature cartoon The Jungle Book there when I was but a wee lad.My only concerns are the lack of toilet facilities, especially for functions with an intermission, as well as the rather warm temperature in the theatre proper. The latter may be an attempt to accommodate the elderly patrons, who seem to prefer warmer environs.

Great intimate little theatre!

Last nights show for the Savannah Music Festival was maybe the third or fourth time we (the band Pink Martini) have played here, and it was just as fun as before! The sound is good (from the stage at least), the staff is all very friendly, the venue is beautiful, and it sits in one of the coolest towns in the US!

Wonderful experience watching the Moscow Ballet perform The Nutcracker. Should have chosen the 2nd row balcony instead of the 1st. The railing obstructed the view slightly. This picture was taken holding the camera high. Otherwise, it was delightful!

I always enjoy the Lucas theatre. I have seen so many shows here from Moulin Rouge, to Luna Del Rey, to Musical Explorers. The detail in ceilings is absolutely beautiful and the staff is always friendly.

Like the venue but security damaged my smartphone and I havent heard back from anyone. Never had something like this happen because I went to a concert.

This is a beautiful, classy, vintage venue but parking is a little tricky so make sure you schedule enough time for navigating the one-way streets, parking garage, and walking a block or two! The seats were comfortable and the sound was great. Definitely a place worth experiencing regardless of who is performing! Would love to go back!

Cool retro theater. My wife and I enjoyed it during our trip to Savannah. If you get the chance, you should definitely check it out.

Lovely, intimate theater. Used to be a movie house and it has not shed its past completely. They have a concession stand selling wine, beer, and movie theater goodies such as popcorn, etc. Service was unorganized and slow. People stood in line past the beginning of the performance and the second act and then were hunting for their seats in the dark with pop and popcorn in hand. We were at the matinee performance, maybe it is less provincial at night. The place is great but needs a more professional attitude.

Theater is wonderful. The current movie was dreadful. Cannot imagine for one moment how anyone could have liked it. People were incredulous as they walked out. What were they thinking??? Was the most common opinion. Indeed. What were thinking!!!

Enjoyed immensely the Savannah Philharmonic and Irish Tenor. Wish the theatre was more handicap accessible. They need an elevator to balcony for people who cannot climb those steep stairs.

I love the center balcony for music concerts. The sound just washes over you, and the prices are reasonable. The only thing they need are hand rails. Ive seen two people fall in the two times Ive been there this fall.

I just saw David Sedaris and he was just as witty as ever. Everyone here was so nice and efficient - especially for the book signing!

Lovely smaller venue with great acoustics.

The show I went to with the School was amazing and hearing the different styles of music and comfortable seating was great. No major pressure from staff, everyone was well groomed and seemed eager to direct us to our seats. They didnt mine if we got up on our feet to dance. Very CLEAN Theater and restroom was nice and clean. The children and I had a great time.

Extremely historic, very beautiful. Very large location so plenty of room. Shows dont seem to sell out too often. SCAD does the vast majority of their shows here. They also offer pre-recorded Broadway and London shows. Dont miss those, they are great. There is a snack bar, but its a bit pricey. The seats are comfortable and large enough to accommodate most sized guests.

The place is beautiful! And the movies look great on the screen, very high quality... The Hepburn Hitchcock program is my favorite, and it doesnt cost more than it would to go to a regular movie

This theatre is my favorite historical theatre in Savannah. Its beautiful inside. Their original productions that they host are consistently wonderful. They also show classic movies each month for a reasonable price. Go see a show here. Youre bound to find something youre interested in and its very much worth it.

Beautiful old theater. I was a videographer there for dance recitals. They were performed fantastic lighting was great have no complaints. Definitely and theater of yesteryear. Need to keep these around.

Love this theater! Its beautiful, the staff is nice, and they play wonderful movies. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be freezing because the air conditioning is on too high, but that is really the only bad thing I can say about this wonderful venue!

Pretty theater in a great part of town.

This lovingly restored theater is the crown jewel of historic Savannah. Left to rot for decades, the Savannah Preservation Society took it upon themselves to bring back this theater to its former glory. And bring back they did, this theater is beautiful inside and out.They regularly show older films and seeing these classics in such a setting is a real treat.The theater is old, but the seats were surprisingly comfortable (though larger people may find them tight).The Lucas will be a regular destination for us from now on.

Me and the family came here for the first time today to see the Nutcracker performed by the Savannah ballet. It was an amazing performance and what a beautiful theatre. My five year old daughter said that it changed her brain, we all agreed it was a great experience.

This theater is a classic beauty with excellent sound quality, decent leg room and all around good views of the stage. They also have a whimsical new concession area.

Very well organized and staffed. A pleasant visit for a SCAD film.

Went to a beniegt showing of hairspray. Would deedul time. Enjoyed drive king beer while watching the movie and show.

Ive been to the Lucas many time for various events. This last time was for the Fight Fest that was put on by Graveface and the Psychotronic Film Society of Savannah. It was a great event at this great location.Only annoying part was that the security is very tight for a theater. I counted more than 7 security staff at the event just at the door checking people. It took a while to get back through every time you went outside.

It has its charm, but acoustics of the venue is pretty terrible, and the space where people congregate during intermissions is so tight that its hard to get through the crowd.

The theater is absolutely beautiful as is the music of the Savannah Philharmonic! Peter Shannon is a masterful conductor.

TERRIBLE!!!! On Fri. Nov.3rd, my daughter bought tickets to see Good Time with some friends. Her friends saved her a seat because she was running late. When she arrived (before the show started) and tried to get to her seat an usher GRABBED her like an animal and told her that was not her seat!!! Thankfully her friends amongst other people witnessed this and yelled at him! I can assure you if this ever happens again it will be in every news paper and on every news channel! Someone should be fired! Keep your hands to yourself! How dare you grab a young lady that way!! SHAME ON YOU!!

Lucas Theatre is a wonderfully restored movie theatre with great sound and sight lines. Sat in the last row orchestra seats and they were terrific.

Magical venue with a stellar crew!

I volunteer here for a good number of Sundays out of the year for latechurch and I gotta say this place, well in terms of the Lucas Theatre since this review is for the Theatre itself, has some great architecture and has every amenity possible needed for anyone who may wish to rent the space for a performance of some kind. It just looks like a theatre until you get backstage. Its pretty nice if you ask me.
