Always a good experience. The crew is the best, always helpful. The bathrooms are usually clean, so is the theater.
Relatively clean theatre (including restrooms), moderately efficient staff. One of the few movie theatres left in Savannah. The inner 12 year old in me laughs inside about the company that didnt seem to think about common sense when naming their premiere large screen theatre the BIG D EXPERIENCE...
This place needs an upgrade. No ticket kiosk means long lines. The theaters smell like stale smoke. Needs a good cleaning or new seats.
I wish this was a better experience. The 2 stars is due to the strength of the movie (mainly because most of it was on the screen). The movie was Dragon Ball Super: Broly AMC 11 considered this to be a Special Event film. It dang sure wasnt treated as such on Saturday January 16th @ 4p. Im in sales and I work 50+ hours during the week and I finally got a weekend off. I was able to take my 4 sons to the movies for the first time in over a year. I bought the tickets in advance ($80 for 5 tickets) to ensure I would be able to actually make good on the promise I made months ago when we learned it would be showing within 40 miles of where we live. We get there early so that we can sit together and hit the concession stand ($53 for 1 bucket of popcorn and 4 drinks). Were excited and ready to enjoy some family time at the movies. We take our seats together and the movie starts almost 15 mins late. That would have been acceptable, except for when the film starts rolling the projection is very very noticably larger than the screen this Special Event was being shown in. That makes parts of the scenes unviewable. This was an expensive outing, over $130 for less than 2 hours. I would expect AMC to do better than this. A large format film shown on a small screen. This is no way to treat any audience who spends their hard earned money and limited free time. I should have been able to enjoy seeing the entire movie I paid for. I was not given the product I paid for, the value did not outweigh the price in this situation. Not sure what can be done now, just know that if you are reading this, and watching the movie in theatre #2 be forewarned. AMC I wish I hadnt had this experience. Im sharing pics of the screen. For those that may feel this is an acceptable viewing display I want you to consider this. If you paid for a pizza, would you be ok if you open the box and find that the sides were cut off and inedible. Or you buy a book and the first and last chapter are missing. Or you buy a new car and I keep your front and rear bumper. Being able to enjoy 80% of what you paid 100%+ for is not cool.
The arcade section didnt work hardly at all. Most the games were broken and the selection was bleak. The movie seats werent fancy but they were alright in comfort. The movie was great. Looked good and sound was good. Customer service upfront sucked but the janitor was very friendly!
This theatre is in serious need of an update. The restrooms are . The entire presentation of the lobby and concession stand is as if the owners just dont care. Its really sad, because its there are only 2 movie theaters in Savannah. I guess were going to have to start going to Pooler for a better movie theater experience.
Its a decent theater with security. Popcorn is good but I dont like Coca Cola freestyle machines. Bring back the good fountain machines.
Paid extra for the Bigger screen and plush chairs just to have the movie shown at regular dimensions with a black outline if the screen not being used. Felt it was a regular movie experience. Will definitely skip for next time. Screen also had no picture during beginning previews until someone went to let the front know. Was not impressed with visit.
It is the best choice around Savannah, I used to go to AMC 10 but its kinda dirty and all. 11 is a bit dirty on the rooms too but nothing close.Variety is great too, sound is good, its a basic movie theater, when I want to see something I am really dying for, I go to the VIP theater in Pooler.
Comfortable seating, movie was good just a little too cold in the theater! Liked that it was close to the bus stop
We were in the Big D theatre. The seats r amazing though we went thru all the coming attractions with a blank screen. But that theatre is awesome.
Still a nice theater with dynamic sound that you FEEL within your chest. I KNOW others have recliner seating but I DONT go to movies to relax in my seat. I wanna be on the edge of my seat. I can sleep in my recliners at HOME.
Friendly staff. Theater seats are dated, but it was very clean. Speakers sound was good, picture was clear. A overall good theater experience.
Surprisingly slow for a Saturday night. We were 1 of groups of people in our theatre This theatre clearly needs an update, it appears nothing was changed from an old carmike theatre. The staff was polite, which is always a plus.
Not many seats per theater. 2 fountain drinks and a large popcorn was 21$ plus tax which I thought was a little high. Also the lines for the consessions was also the lines for the tickets so they were really long and took a while. Also, when a movie was over the people who were leaving had to walk through the ticket and concession lines which was just a mess and very stressful. There are too many theaters around to have to deal with that again. I will not be back
This place is great to me. A little hot in the concession area, but overall great to me.
Where to start? Not enough people working the counters, took forever just to get a ticket. Of course they force you to get your ticket at the concession counter. The prices on everything from the ticket to the concessions were not even in the realm of reasonable. And then, the place is a dump. They cant keep all the lights working, they dont hire enough people, they dont clean the theater after the last crowd, their food is simply disgusting (old roller dog of anyone?) and in todays world where other cinemas offer fresh made grill food and beer/wine, a 12-15 bucks for some coke and candy is a joke. And the unrinal disnt seem to want to flush. But hey, they had soap and paper towels, so, not horrible right.....?
Went to see Adams family with my I enjoyed the movie. The employees were very nice and friendly.
Good place for movies. Good people join the free club and save points for free stuff
This theater is clean with friendly staff, nice seats, and discount tickets on tuesdays! They even have ice cream available to buy as a snack, perfect for hot summer days. They also have a coca-cola mixer machine with the widest variety of drinks available.
Lobby filthy as usual. Clean the bleeping benches.....disgusting. Bathrooms need attention....for a while. Front looks abandoned. Employees are nice thank goodness. Other than Big D it looks like theyve stopped maintaining theaters really. These are issues owners and upper management should address. Not standard employees fault. Pooler is similar pricing and way better experience. I shouldnt have to go there for it though. Thank gosh its only big one in Savannah and the employees are pretty nice. Hope it gets better. Perception is its on way to closing.......and perceptions are reality.
I saw 1917 on the Big Screen...it was a great experience and the sound in theater 6 was phenomenal!
It was a really hot and busy day and it looks like the AC was out. The lines were long and I had my kids with me. But the guy at the register was handling everything so well. His name was Keith and he was so polite and calm and was very helpful!
Not my favorite. I usually go to the Disney Springs one so theres a big difference between the 2. Ive been here before but decided to try it again. There were 4 people staffed at the concession stand all huddled together. No one was taking tickets or selling tickets at the entrance so it was very weird. I had already purchased mine online but wasnt sure what was going on. When I stepped up to purchase popcorn, one asked if I needed a ticket. I showed her my ticket on my phone. She was a woman of few words, little friendliness, and tons of faces and sounds, if you know what I mean. I guess the inside was as clean as it could be. The whole place just didnt even feel like I was at the same theater company as the one I usually frequent. There are other choices in nearby Pooler, Id probably try one of those instead next time Im in the area and want to see a movie. Very strange for a Friday afternoon at a movie theater. Their whole setup is just odd. Hey, the movie was good though.
Love the management.....I think her name is Taylor. She has great customer interaction and also loves her what she does; it shows. Will be back to see more movies!
Smells funky, need to update the upholstery. And clean better
Cool theater thats not crowded and well kept! Staff was nice and the popcorn was good!!!! Good place to take the kids to enjoy a movie!
It was decent. Nothing special. It wasnt horrible like the theater in Hinesville. It was clean inside and the staff was friendly. Id return here.
Every time we visit, the experience gets worst. Half the time the descriptive text device for the visually impaired doesn’t work. This time the staff didn’t know how to program it. The manager on duty didn’t offer to reimburse our money or offer any type of compensation. The only decent part about the place is the gentleman (in the wheelchair) is always pleasant. We will no longer visit this location, we’ll drive the extra miles to Pooler movie theater.
Very clean and maintained employees are respectful to customers and in occasions if you are a few cents or a dollar short. Some of the employees are generous enough to let it slide on some occasions.
Imagine buying popcorn and drinks (20$ btw for 2 drinks and a large popcorn) just to get told your movie is cancelled and to contact support for new tickets. Then told youd only be refunded and not get included convenience fees (about 4$). Then ONTOP OF THAT it takes 7-10 days on the refund and the movie is out of theaters in 5 days.Place was a wreck ontop of that. Needs a upgrade. Looks like a homeless shelter if homeless shelters played new movies every week. Rather just go to the one in pooler where atleast ill get sent away in a relatively needle free and clean environment. Feels like youre gonna get mugged just walking in from behind the mall.
We arrived at 12:20 on Memorial Day. No one was in the ticket booth selling tickets. Inside there were two long lines at the refreshment stand with patrons there to buy tickets and refreshments at the same time. No one set up as designated ticket seller, with only the two employees in sight. Not good management to keep things moving especially at a movie theatre. We’re going far out of the way to Pooler.
Seeing Bad Boyz 3 was amazing with my ICare group! Great script !
Really enjoyed the seating arrangements. Almost perfect seats anywhere. They really need to update the entrance. It looks like a deserted theater; we couldnt find the narrow 2 door entrance out of allllll the doors that are exits only until we got up close because of the old pay at the window layout. Enjoyed the experience overall. But a little bummed they didnt have reclining seats. They were still comfy regardless. But still.
Movie great. The volume was sky high! Couldnt find anyone to help. Pretty clean though.
Loved my visit and loved the service would recommend this theater as best in Savannah
It was a fantastic movie. I do think that you need some more people available to give directions asides the concession stand employees. Im giving you a rating of 4.0
Mid sized theater, put a 3d showing in one of their smaller theaters on opening night, but at least the theater was clean and quiet. The bathrooms on the sides away from the lobby were a little dirty and had no soap or paper towels, but it was the beginning of an opening weekend for a major film, so Im guessing someone just overlooked it. Other than that, a good experience!
Run down and needs improvement and new staff that are more welcoming and professional. Only reason getting 2 stars because of $5 Tuesday ticket prices. Nothing like the AMCs back home in Miami.
Good place to catch a movie, and they usually get the limited showing exclusives, the place is a little dated (-1) but weve never had a bad experience.
This is a really great place to go see a movie however the entire theater is somewhat dated. apparently they have lost a lot of their fan pair which causes lower turnouts and there is not a lot that can be done with that..
Being. The. Only place really in Savannah to watch movies...have no choice sucks. It is right next to a closed theater too... The place as most seems a bit run down. Also like most they have only one counter of snacks open that is also where to get tickets...
Very clean well run theater that shows films before 4 PM!
This place is in need of a major remodel. Scratch that.....go with the bulldozer and start over. On a 100+* day, no A/C in the lobby. Ordered tickets online and paid almost a &6 convenience fee and no kiosks. Still had to wait in a line to get tickets!!!!! No ice in the drink machines. Theater had old seating that smelled. Will never be back and in fact, contemplating cancelling my AMC account as the convenience fee is a rip off.
Awesome movie experience... Every Holiday and Birthday... Im there... You could literally ring the doorbell and ask Hi, is Paula and the kids in?
Movie was 15 minutes late getting started. Ceiling tiles missing above my head in the movie theater. Then theres the bathroom urinals had no water going to them, bathroom smelled like Week old pee. Outside of that no problem.
This seems like a good place to see a movie in Savannah. The facility is modern and nice but could use a sweep more frequently, and the prices are in line with the rest. The seating has the fold up arm rests which is a good thing for a fat dude like me but i really like them recliners the fancy theatres have, whoooo, but they usually expensive so Im good. Overall, this is a good spot for movie goers to check out their favorite flicks!
Need to have more new movies playing since AMC has 2 theaters here. Have to go to pooler to see new movie that are out.
The movie was good but the theater looks run down. The ac seemed like it wasnt working and only one set of bathrooms were being used other than the lobby. Bathrooms were dirty.
Just a really good place to meet up with friends and family to spend some time with them and watch a movie. Decent prices and friendly employees.
Sound was so loud in the main theater I had to leave and ask for a refund. management didnt seem concerned. Seats were shaking
In fairness, the Big D really, really lives up to its name. However, the parking lot could do with a lot better illumination, and the concessions area at the front was... lets go with worn. If nothing else, the whole building could do with a fresh coat of paint.
We had a blast at this theater. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The theater is clean and up to date. I joined AMC Stubs rewards and have received a couple of rewards that have saved me money. I also bought the 2018 souvenir popcorn bucket. With the rewards program, I get a free refill instead of having to pay for it. I love AMC!
Bought tickets to a One Piece anime movie weeks ago. It was supposed to be in English on Oct 26th. Only showing today was at 2pm and it was in Japanese. Talked to a manager and she said it was in English yesterday and didn’t say anything else. Why would I buy tickets for it to not be in English. If you post movies and times in advance and sell early tickets then honor that, I wasted $10 on a movie that was suppose to be English Dub. Been coming to this theater since I was a kid and ever since AMC took over it has been a nightmare. Not happy. Guess I’ll have to start going to Pooler
There was a Avengers: Endgame re-release that was 3 hours long that showed additional footage. I have not been to go see the film as of yet. According to the on-line website, the film was supposed to be shown through July 31st. That would give the film a full month of viewing especially from people who have not gone to go see it yet. There is nothing wrong with the customer service, the food, and slushies there are great but its very disappointing and disrespectful when people make plans ahead of time with friends and then go on-line to check to see film dates and the film is no longer showing. That is false advertising at its worse.
While the employees were nice and helpful, the theater itself was pretty poorly maintained. The front pavilion was littered with cigarette butts, and the inside just didnt feel clean. I wouldnt eat here (popcorn and such), but the actual seeing the movie part was okay and had decent quality and sound.
A little disappointed. Noone was out front so we walked in. Knowing we were looking around to find out where to get tickets at and nobody seemed to care. Finally found out had to get them at the concession stand. So were heading to see Secret life of Pets 2 and no directions or signs directing us to one of at least half a dozen rooms. Walked around until we finally found it.
Im bothered by the ruined, dirty carpets. The plausible poor care of the water fountain and restrooms.
Theater wasnt cleaned..there was popcorn and trash all over the floor and seats !!!!!
The price for the movie was ok...but this theatre really needs an upgrade and for things to be remodeled. The seats are fabric, which holds germs/hairs..so moved down a few seats. Also a big code....the ceiling above us had openings due to water damage, and you can tell the water moisture above. I was praying nothing fell or dropped on us. SMH.. theatre#9. Will not come back.
Close to home. Excellent movie watching experience.
$34.64 for 2 movie tickets in Savannah!!!! That is ridiculous pricing and for that price youd think the theater would be well maintained and clean. On a Sunday in the Summer there was noone working the ticket window and the food counter was scattered with popcorn and other trash. The rest of the theater looked like the had been a popcorn fight!!! Im from Atlanta where most things are over priced and I have NEVER PAID $17 each for a movie ticket. The price of this ticket and the condition of this theater put me in a bad mood...I hope the movie is at least good. WELL THATS IF THEY EVER GET THE SOUND TO WORK!!! The manager said Its warming up! Wtf
It was dirty. Had to find a seat without any trash in it.
The lines were very long, but did seem to move quickly. The place didnt seem super clean. At one point in the movie I took my daughter to use the restroom and all 3 that we tried to go to were closed. Finally the one by the theater we were in opened back up when we walked back. Thankfully she made it in time. It surprises me that they would have them all closed during such a peak time. A brand new top movie was playing and there were a lot of customers there. At least one should have been open.
The BigD theatre is the best value in Savannah. Large format screen, excellent audio, and large seats make this the best choice for 2D and 3D films. The age of the building us starting to show, especially in the bathrooms. Since becoming an AMC theatre, they only sell tickets inside at concessions, so buy them online if you want to see a major release on opening weekend. If your a value movie goer -- tickets are discounted between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. The later in the evening you go, the prices will start climbing.
A buddy and i went to see the new Halloween today and not only did we lose sound for nearly 5 minutes but 20 minutes later, the whole movie just shut down. Its clear that whoever owns this place doesnt take any pride in it. Very little staff on hand, poorly cleaned.I wonder if the AMC corporate is aware. They certainly will be.
Don’t waste your time buying tickets online. They make you stand in line anyway. Stupidest system in Savannah.
The process needs to be updated. We arrived at 1:30 for a 1:30 movie but no one was in the ticket booth and we had to wait in a long line at the refreshment counter behind people who wanted refreshments since this is where they sold the tickets as well. This is an absolutely ridiculous process.
We usually love the theater, but the lobby was very hot yesterday. Is the air conditioning broken? The theater itself was comfortable.
I really enjoyed their theater, the customer service the cleanliness, the ambience. Their IMAX theater was awesome. They just remodeled and did a great job. Definitely a place you can visit in Savannah and enjoy a good movie with fam and friends.
Bathrooms are disgusting! Uncomfortable experience.
I have had nothing but bad experiences at this theater. There have been occasions when the lights were left on for the entirety of the movie. Others when I had to ask an employee to play the movie I had paid for because they forgot. Most recently, I went to see an early screening of a movie. There was no one at the ticket booth so I had to wait in the concession line, resulting in my missing the first 10 minutes of the film. I didnt make a big deal because I figured I shouldve gotten to the theatre earlier. However, I and about 10 others had to stand the whole time because they had overbooked and had no seats left. About halfway through this movie I was asked to leave because someone had called the fire department. I was only given a movie voucher as compensation. No refund. I will not be returning to this theater ever again.
Bathroom was a mess. The seating areas were clean. There was leaves and popcorn when you walked in the door.
Taking children to see frozen 2 and starts at 11am movie started 11:30 am due fact we had sit thru 30 mins or advertising come on guys these are children!
Comfortable theater with good sound.
I am a hardcore AMC lover; but, this place is filthy, everything from the lobby to the theater and OMG!! I have seen cleaner port-a-potties then their bathrooms!! The screen and sound system are out of date, more of a dollar theater quality then a AMC. Highly disappointed
The bathrooms are consistently closed on the side hallways and all bathrooms are disgusting. Even after cleaning they were gross. The BIG D seats are comfortable, but thats about it. Many times we go here the heating or cooling has been out. Last movie we went to, there was a section of the film that was blacked out, probably due to lens problem. At another movie a speaker was blown, so we listened to a lot of popping speakers. The AMC membership is great for $20,but this particular theater is a dump.
No matter what AMC location you go to in Savannah the location concession stands are a filthy mess. Food popcorn soda condiments all over the floor and behind the counters where they are serving food. Stephenson ave. location never ever have hotdogs ready. NEVER!!!! Savannah needs more theater options AMC is not it. I miss the theaters in NY.
Nice to go but $54.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 5 is a bit outrageous
Lets be honest here. The recent outfitting and amenity additions are cool. But you cant do anything if the box and concession stand are the same thing and you have to wait 30 minutes just for a ticket on a Tuesday. Also, the ventilation system is not great. Prepare to sweat. The staff are nice though, and its clean.
Tonights experience was amazing!!! This theater never disappoints!!!
Clean and courteous employees popcorn and coke. Taste great and. Movie was good
Concession area is always a mess. Theaters are dusty and dirty. Staff doesn’t seem to care. And to top it all off, the lights don’t dim when the previews start. They dim when the feature film starts. However, the seats are comfy, with the cup holder arms. Also, picture and sound is good.
We enjoy our movies here
I would rate this no stars if I could! Lets start with the fact that there is nobody at the counters outside where you can purchase tickets, you have to go inside, which is fine, but nowhere does it tell you that you purchase tickets at the concession stand. Then, there is nobody who actually takes the tickets, so anyone off the street could go in and see a movie and not pay. Also, apparently this theater has no air conditioning, the theater we sat in was so hot that it was cooler outside. This theater needs a lot of work, and definitely need more employees, waiting 20 minutes in line to get 2 sodas and nachos is absolutely ridiculous!!
Very clean. Staff was nice. Theater 6 is the best theater Ive been in and I have been to Phipps plaza theaters in Atlanta! It was so big and the sound was amazing. Great theater to experience BTS in! Will be coming back soone enough.
If anybody has a question as to why everybody is going to Pooler come swing by this theatre. Thirty some odd patrons lined up outside getting eaten by gnats while one cashier manned the ticket counter. We stayed until our movie time started and were still fifteen deep. Go to Pooler.
Dont waste your money at this location.
I enjoy $6 tues. Not too many people. Ask for the $5 popcorn and drink summer special.
They need to remodel and get them fancy recline chairs they have at other AMCs
Endgame Avengers Awesome and the theater is clean and customer service friendly Staff. Thumbs up!!!
Love the Big D theater.
Went the matinee to see the new Star Wars, it did not disappoint!!!!
Seat are great and sound is outstanding.
Bathrooms were absolutely filthy. Tickets and concessions at same stand. Nobody to take tickets or point you in the right direction to find your theater. And it was FREEZING
The bathroom was DISGUSTING both times I went this week. Toilets broken and overflowing!!! Also, the name over the theater we were supposed to sit in was showing a different title than what was showing. This theater is tanking just like the Regal cinemas did next door. What a disgrace! Also... 16.9oz bottle of water for $4.25? Seriously???
