Used to love it but they got rid of their top notch GM and replaced her with incompetence. Place shut down for covid and during this time they canned an exceptional, dedicated, hard working woman who LOVED her job. Definitely will NOT be back to this, or ANY, AMC theater. Ever.
It’s like no one ever cleans this theater. There’s always a musty smell and the floors and seats look disgusting. I wouldn’t mind the outdated decor if it wasn’t also dirty. I only go here if I absolutely don’t have another choice.
The experience was great with a 4 year old. Anyone looking to take their little one to the movies and need the space and comfort this is the spot.
Kind of small, kind of grungy. Has the movies you want, but is hard to find if you dont know where it is, and is easy to miss. The theatre has some pretty standard screens. Not many Big D rooms, or 3D.
This multiplex theatre has seem better days, like most theatres. Closed outside ticket desks, floors a little dirty in corners and rugs which definitely need to be replaced or shampooed. The shows are generally current, and have multiple showingsThe sound, theatre seating, and temperature are fine. The outside has nearby attractive parking and is close to many restaurants and shopping. Access is reasonable via Truman parkway and Eisenhower. Fifteen years ago this was bright modern and bustling.
Visiting Savannah from Florida. This place is very outdated. As others have stated the front ticket booth is closed. You have to get your tickets from the concession stand. The popcorn was hard and stale. The cabinets in the concession stand are broken. The carpet is stained and musty and the bathrooms are atrocious. The sound in the theater we were in was crackling and it smelled bad. Id give it zero stars if I could. Bulldoze this place and rebuild.
The service was the worse I ve ever seen. Lines all the way back as far as they could go.Kids working the line showed no concern for how slow they were going. Which was making everyone wait. We missed the start of the movie and we were 45 minutes early. There was no manager anywhere to be found. I will never go to this place again
Staff was nice. Looks SO much better than it did like 3 months ago. Old gm is gone. Thank god. Rude guest but staff fixed it.
The experience I had was amazing . The only thing I didnt like was it was overpriced.
Clean and pretty up to date on movies, I just wish everthing was not so expensive
Staff were very rude, staff were gossiping. One of the staff members were cursing cause my friend and I were in a rated R movie after my mom handled the situation, didn’t really get to enjoy the movie because the staff kept bothering us. The popcorn was good !
This is the dirtiest and nastiest theater in North America. There were two unskilled and unmotivated workers behind the counter. For a 1 pm movie, they were just warming the oven so a long wait for anything. We missed half the movie due to the long wait in line due to the most unprofessional employees Ive ever seen. Dont waste your time coming here, the time you waste in line would be better spent driving to Pooler to a real movie theater...bottom line...go anywhere but here...you have been warned ahead of time
I’ve been here about four times in the past month and there’s NEVER hot dogs on the hot dog roller.. why are you advertising hot dogs if you don’t even bother preparing them? The guy at the stand said it was too much work. I just want a hot dog!!! Not that hard!
Theater was clean and comfortable. Food was not completely outrageous and the movie was entertaining.
Movie was good but that is all I can say about the place
This place has 90s accommodations for 2010s prices. Seeing a movie in theaters is always fun regardless of how nice the theater is but ideally you should definitely be able to find a better place to see a movie for the prices this place charges
I WAS IN TOWN AND DECIDED TO GO TO THE MOVIES DUE TO THE TROPICAL STORM. THIS PLACE WAS VERY UNSANITARY & DIRTY!! AND IT LOOKED LIKE SOME EMPLOYEES HAD NOTHING TO DO BUT BE ON THEIR CELL PHONES, WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLEANING!!
Older theater but great customer service and wonderful movie experience. Beverage area needed cleaning attention on my visit. Would definitely see movies here again
So tonight I witnessed the most amazing thing... Humanity ... There was a lady and her 3 young children that for whatever reason were asking for change from movie patrons and the ENTIRE STAFF of this theatre came together donated cokes and popcorn and gave them a gift of being allowed to watch a movie at their expense... The manager backed them up and it was beautiful to see the children excited and the mother feel comforted knowing there was no judgement and enough love for doing the RIGHT THING came to her as a blessing that you could see hope and gratefulness fill her void that obviously had been created by lifes cruelties. I dont know her story I didnt ask, I gave what I could and wished her happy holidays and many blessings... I tried to look for her as we left but Im not sure where she had gone... I however am fully enamoured with how the staff responded to such a situation that could very easily have been turned in the wrong direction... The parents of the kids at this theatre would have all been so proud ... I know I was proud of them and they should be rewarded for such grace and mercy that they showed to a desperate mother .... Thank you so much for your wonderful behavior in the world I was blessed to be witnessed to .... I am truly blessed tonight...
It was great. We got there, and it was like it was deserted, which is the best way you want your theater, because you get to sit anywhere you want. Some people did fill in after we got there, but it was still nice not having a crowded theater.Oh, we watched Captain Marvel, just for some context.
This theatre is very old compared to the ones in Pooler Georgia. They seriously need to do upgrades or tear it down and build a new one. Also they dont clean the viewing rooms after each show. We walked in last night to popcorn, candy and soda cups still all over the floor and in some of the seats. The popcorn station where you get your straws and napkins is always dirty and greasy even behind the counter where you order is a disaster. AMC. Stephenson Ave. is not the place to go. I dont like driving all the way out to Pooler so occasionally we go here. They wont improve anything here so they dont care about the customers who patronize this establishment.
Theater smells like piss. Hallways smell like the carpets hasnt been cleaned in a while. Move was very good through
Very long concessions/tickets line. Many seats broken. The sound in house 3 was waaaaay too low. The AC was louder than the movie. And if you look up, there are several missing ceiling tiles and others that look as if they are going to fall down. Such a dilapidated theater house.
Liked the theater. Appreciated the manager for being kind and courteous. Will be back
Very Nice and Very Clean Theatre I will be Back!
Go somewhere else. This movie theater is a shame. The parking lot was trashed, the staff was not friendly and had attitude. The cashier didn’t acknowledge me, but continued to hold a conversation with a man that didn’t work there. A gang was hanging out in front of the doors of the theater and nobody ran them off. Other kids where the unattended and acting up, running around, screaming and cursing! The drink machine was BROKEN! But they charged for a full price drink. The chairs inside the theater where broke.. theater itself could use many upgrades along with newly trained staff.
Comfortable seats. Nice clean theatre. Staff was nice every though they were very very busy. When I went the ticket and the food line was together which made the wait longer than it should be. I didnt want snacks but I had to wait. Some people didnt know what they wanted etc. Perhaps a ticket line by itself would have been better. Maybe they were understaffed that did. Overall experience was good because the staff made it good. They had good manners and were patient. Kudos to them.
An ok theater saw Knives Out a good movie
This was the nastiest, dirtiest theatre I’ve even been in. I felt like I needed to sanitize my body from the second I walked through the doors. For being such a popular, touristy town you would think this would be better kept. Ordered pretzels and popcorn didn’t eat them. Theatre was musty smelling and just dirty. Movie itself had cracking noises coming from the screen, very annoying. Restrooms were dirty enough to have the place shut down . I don’t mind “old stuff”, but this needs to be completely renovated. I would not return here and would be nervous to try any others in the area based on this one alone.
Nice quiet theater able to see Star wars opening day
No box office on a Saturday night? We had to wait in the concessions line for 20 minutes to buy tickets. Theatre was clean enough, screen and sound were fine.
Horrible theater...smells moldy inside once the lights came on you could see that its old and needs to be remodelled. Ill never go there again. And I hated the popcorn the butter tasted like old oil. The movie was good though.
Old school theater, a little small. But still enjoyed cool afternoon watching a movie with the kiddos. Clean facility, nice staff.
People there are nice but the lines were long and we had to wait to buy tickets in the concessions line.
Chairs in the theatre I visited were old and uncomfortable...sprung would be my grans term. Arriving early to wait for my friends, I also found only one small bench and two two-seater metal table sets in the lobby, again not comfortable and inadequate as there were over a dozen folks standing around. The reason? Rain kept us from curb sitting....
Nice and clean.. took my almost 2yr old to see Dora.. she loved it lol will come back again!!
The theater was alright, but never have I been to a theater where groups of people found it perfectly normal to converse over the entire film. A few bad eggs didnt ruin it, but half the theater talking sure did.
Clean and comfy. Jumanji was awesomeness
The theatre itself is beautiful, but the staff were not so cordial. They were huddled up talking and a trainee actually helped me with my ticket purchase. I will go back though because it the closest theatre to me.
The womens bathrooms are horrible. The mirrors were removed and the walls were they were are pretty disgusting. The whole bathroom needs to be redone and SOON! The carpeting is black...not because it is the color, but because it is filthy. Thank goodness you cannot see the theater seats, because I think I would probably leave. Desperately seeking renovations!!! The only plus is the location.
Obviously great location, but the place can be cleaner but overall still a good theater
We went for a limited release showing for a movie so we didnt have a choice in theatres. The theater was clean as were the restrooms. Its been a while since weve been to a movie and forgot how expensive it is to go but I know they dont set the prices. The staff was nice, but the theater room itself was so dark when we went in we had to use our cell phone flashlight just to find our seats. So did all the other patrons. Thats not safe at all. The movie started 15 minutes late, that was the previews, the movie itself started about 30 minutes after showtime. Its also an older theater so the seats were a bit uncomfortable for the long movie we choose. Again though, the staff was nice, just remember, its an older theater and smaller than the newer ones that some may be accustom to.
Did no one show up for work? Christmas Day is always a big release date. The AMC 10 had one ticket seller and no kiosk to redeem on-line purchases. Lines stretched around the front of the theater. The concessions had 3 people to handle a hungry horde and many registers were cash only. AMC, you can do better.
Big THANK YOU to the 2 employees at the ticket booth/ concession stand who had to handle a large crowd on opening weekend for Avengers:Endgame. I went to the 11am showing and that young man & woman kept it moving smoothly!
There was a Avengers: Endgame re-release that was 3 hours long that showed additional footage. I have not been to go see the film as of yet. According to the on-line website, the film was supposed to be shown through July 31st. That would give the film a full month of viewing especially from people who have not gone to go see it yet. There is nothing wrong with the customer service, the food, and slushies there are great but its very disappointing and disrespectful when people make plans ahead of time with friends and then go on-line to check to see film dates and the film is no longer showing. That is false advertising at its worse.
Theatre is trashed, trash all through out parking lot. Behind the counter was disgusting and not clean at all. It’s a shame that this theatre is owned by AMC, would of thought the cleanliness and overall theatre would of been renovated and cleaned up. Wall paper is peeling off the walls and carpet looks like it has never been cleaned since they bought out Carmike Cinemas. Horrible smell throughout entire theatre.
They oversold Avengers: End Game, but managed to get us into another theater after a half hour delay. They also ran out of candy at the concession stand. The theater was clean and the picture and sound quality was excellent.
Nice way to start my birthday celebrations
Horrible customer service! Typically prior to the movie, local and national advertisements are shown. In this case it could be heard and not seen. When I approached the manager to address the issue, she was dismissive and stated that that was just wayIt was. When pressed to fix the problem she seemed to be agitated. I attend AMC Theaters several times a week and have never experienced the pictures not showing. Her attitude and lack of concern is extremely unprofessional and unwarranted. The theater itself needs some work both from a staffing perspective and physical perspective. Not sure how AMC is allowing this, but monitor the reviews and fix this problem (that is easy to fix). This kind of service is ridiculous.
Its hot, outdated, and leaking from rain. Its only really good for $5 Tuesdays. I rather drive to Pooler tbh.
Sign out front makes a very loud buzz. The theater could be cleaner. Decent, but for what you are paying for a movie these days, it would be nice to see some updates.
Not bad, the line goes pretty quick and the theaters arent bad. The bathrooms could use a remodel though. But the parking lot is sizable and theres a lot of handicap spots.
Great theater, there is always a good mix of movies and usually there are movies here that are not shown in any of the other theaters. One thing that could be improved is the length of preview runs. I remember once having at least 15 previews in a row. Everyone at the theater is kind and courteous and they will continue to see my business.
Pretty basic movie theater experience. Tickets are relatively affordable, but you know how the concessions can be. There will be lines as you get your tickets and concessions at the same place. Seats were comfortable enough, just dont compare them to the theaters in Pooler. They are convenient for movie goers in Savannah, and if you use the Atom app to buy tickets like I do, this theater supports that.
Popcorn machine broken once again...they really need to remodel this theater. Yesterday the movie projector will not shown the movie I saw today...remodel needed badly...not a very clean looking theater.
Dated but clean with a great loc6
The Movie was awesome... John Wick 3! But the young lady by the name Kayla almost made me ruin my Fathers Day! Her attitude was awful!
This is the theater I go to when I go what we have Nana granddaughter day. Nice theater clean this time it was a bit cold though I would recommend you taking a blanket or a sweater and also know sandals because my feet were cold last time LOL.
It was nasty. They did not have prices posted. Cigarette butts in hallway, nasty carpet, smelly, dead roach near concession stand. No concessions in display case. No goobers. No previews had 2 listen to previews. Expensive! Spent over 50 bucks for 2 regular popcorns, 2 sodas, pkg. Of chocolate covered almonds and 2 tix. No help at the register. No security. Parking lot needs better lighting. Outside needs to be cleaned up. Workers were very pleasant considering their working consitions! They were very professional the two we encountered!
Thses place runs of carbonated drinks, ceiling to floor is filthy. Obviously teenagers dont care about job. Ive seen cleaner reatrooms in a third world country. Smells like wet dog in this place
So this is an older amc, its pretty obvious from the moment you walk in. That being said, it was clean, kept up to above standards for what seemed to be a forgotten theater amc owned. While there a manager was taking care of an older customer, who voiced very loudly her anger about the prices of concessions, to which the manager very politely explained that he understood the frustration, but theaters make the money from those items. Even though the theater could use some upgrades, that managers handling of what could have been a very nasty ordeal made me like that theater. He was chipper and engaged trying to make someone happy who wasnt going to be, when he could have easily ignored her concerns or acted negatively. It was impressive, because im sure he hears it everyday.
The crew is nice and respectful! I love how close it is so close to where I live! The theatre is a little out dated but Im not complaining :) just a suggestion, please clean the theatre after movies are done. Thanks!
I saw Toy Story 4. Very good but I loved all the toy story movies.
Its so expensive to go to the movies these days. For the cost their seats are very uncomfortable and the bathrooms were horrible.
It gets the job done but no frills or fancies and no real price break compared to other nicer theaters.
This is an older theater in Savannah meaning the sound is not top notch nor is the seating. Expect the technology to be closer to 10 years old and not up to current standards. We did enjoy ourselves and seen the new Avengers movie so dont get me wrong however they need to look to upgrade. One warning and part of the reason I gave it a 3-star is that the food is way overpriced compared to more up-to-date theaters. A large popcorn and drink should not cost $15
Very nice staff but the theater is very old. When looking at the outside, it was very nice but inside the theater was run down. Over nice experience.
Fast, friendly service. Theaters were clean. Movie and snacks were great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Will most definitely be visiting again.
Had a nice time, enjoyed the moviep.
Great Matinee prices and clean theatre
The restrooms need to kept clean, always tissue or paper towels on the floor
$15 for popcorn and a drink is criminal! The theater was clean but smelled like puke. Could have warmed it up instead of pouring in AC on a day that was less than 60 degrees outside.
Price is right not a bad theater
My wife and I have been to this theater 3 times in the last few months. The freestyle coke machines never taste right because the mix ratio is severely unbalanced. Additionally, the icee machine is hardly ever frozen properly. We will be bringing our own drinks from now on. On the positive, the theater is fairly clean, the popcorn is not overly salty, the seats are reasonably comfortable, and the staff have been polite and respectful.
This is my favorite theater. The staff here is very friendly. They greet you when you walk in.
Extremely overpriced for the quality of the theater and staff. Limited offerings for food and snacks. Sticky floors. And bad seating. A musty smell in the theater as well. Second time I have been back because of the location but will not return unless renovated or new management. The pooler theater is for sure way more worth the money and drive.
Had to take my baby to see Aladdin. It was really good.
Very hot inside the theatre, even after dark. I guess they couldnt be bothered to turn the a.c. on
Little outdated but who cares. Movie was great. Seats were fine.
I watched avengers endgame yesterday at this cinema, the movie froze halfway and I couldnt stop laughing. Totally ruined the immersion for me, but it was hilarious.
There were only about 10 people iñ the auditorium, 4 being us. The rest of the people acted like a bunch of animals making it unenjoyable for us. All soda machines were down and no drink discount. Go to another theater.
Now that this is the only theater in the interior of Savannah, Id hope that the parent company would really fix the place up. On our recent visit, everything worked fine. The staff were nice. The interior is just a bit worn. My only other complaint has nothing to do with the theater itself. Unfortunately nowadays commercials are par for the course but our movie started TWENTY FIVE minutes after the scheduled time. Ridiculous
Last night I went with my younger cousins to see spider Man. The wait in line to order tickets was a bother . Its apparent they are short staffed. Thank God we all had patience. The other young lady was helping out on the drink machine then once finished she opened the other register. They both did their best it is not their fault. The theater itself is out dated. The theater had a stinch.
Air conditioner was non existent in the theater! Ridiculously hot especially for the price of admission!!
I dont understand whats going on with Savannah, but for some reason Pooler seems to be getting all the love, and Savannah is getting left behind. As others have said, this place is extremely outdated. Refreshments were insanely over-priced, so I didnt bother to buy any...somehow or another other people are still agreeing to buy them. 21 dollars for popcorn and a drink? Its just popcorn! Dont understand why AMC keeps this place open...we were the only ones in the theater on a Friday afternoon. I give it another 2 years tops.
I think its going to close. Cant get tickets at window anymore. Makes you stand in long line at concession area. No 11am or Noon movies showing M-F anymore. To many cut backs. Over priced. Shameful.
Theater is dated and dirty. The front lobby is not clean and no one is there to greet patrons. Poor.
This is the best theater in Midtown Savannah. They have adequate lines for getting tickets and their movie theaters are generally clean. Except for the bathroom. The bathroom is always a problem for me. Considering what Midtown Savannah has to offer this is the best option.
Often has issues with playing the correct movie, isnt super clean, and never quite seems to have enough employees. If youre going to see a popular movie, make sure to buy tickets online because they WILL sell put and you wont know till you get there to buy a ticket.
Very dirty! Employees are there just to collect a paycheck. Lobby, theatres, hallways and bathrooms were all VERY nasty. Customer service took a back seat to the 3 girls social conversation...one of them was a supervisor.
We have been here several times and have never waited less than 35 minutes for a ticket. They used to do 5 dollar ticket Tuesdays. We went today and the policy has changed. You now have to be a rewards member to participate. That is fine, however when we asked how to do so, the young woman refused to answer us. We were also already late for the movie. We waited for 40 minutes to deal with complete incompetence, and no movie.
The best dang movie Ive seen this year by far!I wonder if there will be a sequel
Standard stadium seating theater. Clean and comfortable but nothing special.
Run down and needs improvement and new staff that are more welcoming and professional. Only reason getting 2 stars because of $5 Tuesday ticket prices; nothing like the AMCs back home in Miami.
This place has gotten filthy. Took my daughters and a friend and spent $80 to go see a movie and the place is just gross. Sticky carpets, dirty nasty concession stand. The workers had an awful attitude. Im glad I wore shoes and not flip flops that day. Would not be surprised if the place was full of roaches because the place stunk of spilled coke and rotten popcorn. The screen even had a hole in it. Drove me crazy the whole movie.
