The Spirit of Life (1914) by Daniel French, the same sculptor who designed the statue of Abraham Lincoln (1920) at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. An amazing sculpture located on the Western edge of Congress Park. There is a fountain, a pool, and flowerbeds. The inscription reads: To the Memory of Spencer Trask 1844-1909. His one object in life was to do right and to serve his fellow men. He gave himself abundantly to hasten the coming of a new and better day which with prophetic vision he foretold for Saratoga Springs. Spencer Trask was a major force in the protection and preservation of the areas natural mineral springs.

Gorgeous, well maintained fountain and park! My group (2 couples) stopped in Saratoga Springs on our road trip North in July. There was a horse race about to happen in town which was exciting! Everyone was dressed up and their race accessories on houses and all over town! Also learned that there is a big arts movement for dancers! Loved Saratoga Springs! Dave Arnold from Cooking Issues recommended a naturally carbonated water from here but I never found exactly which fountain he was talking about...

Very well maintained fountain and park. The water in the ponds are kind of mucky compared to what they used to look like, but still one of my favorite destinations to go to with the family.

This viewpoint of the sprawling Congress Park is one of the best around. We stood overlooking the pond below and saw a wedding party procession.

Nice fountain and a memorial for Spencer Trask - an American financier who had financed Thomas Edisons Light Bulb. The statue is of Greek figure Hygieia. Her father - Asklepios is the god of medicine. Trask made Saratoga Springs reputation as a health resort. This memorial aptly recognizes that.
