Whoever runs this museum should be fired or embarrassed. We put off coming here on our vacation and changed around plans because theyre only open on the weekends. The signage here is awful and you wander from building to building trying to figure out where the entrance is only to see that they are closed due covid. WAKE UP AND UPDATE YOUR HOURS ON GOOGLE!!! WHERE EVERYONE IS GOING TO FIND YOU. DONT LIST OPENING HOURS WHEN YOU ARE NOT OPEN... AMATEURISH.

A museum that garners a fair amount of memorabilia. It is centered mostly on the North American side of dance progress. Their swing dance collection was a real pleasure to see. It took us about 3 hours to complete the tour and we loved it. I wonderful if they change it from time to time?

This museum was great! There was lots for the adults to see and a great room for the kids to explore music and dance- truly wonderful, my kids had a blast playing instruments and trying on costumes and dance shoes, and then learning to dance in the studio. Such a great place!

We visited the museum to see the exhibit of classic movie musical posters. We really enjoyed walking through and reminiscing about a truly classic era in movies. The exhibit includes posters from multiple countries, so it is interesting to see how the classic films are represented in posters from other countries. If you are a fan of the old movie musicals, you would love this exhibit.

A small museum but packed with information. The building itself has an interesting history. The exhibits are well laid out and engaging. The tour was informative and the docent clearly has a passion for dance which showed. We started much longer than we expected and enjoyed every second. Bonus was we came on a Tuesday which was free. Highly recommend going if youre in the area.

Hosted my daughters wedding 10/21/2017 at the museum! Ceremony in the gorgeous foyer, cocktails in the solarium and tented reception in the Courtyard! Jo was so helpful recommending Nicoles Catering and Clifton Park Rentals for tent, lighting, and farm tables! The wedding was over the moon beautiful..guests were raving over the food and ambience...and Jo helped us put it all together. Couldnt be happier...Thank you Jo!

Went here before seeing the NYCB ballet at SPAC. Perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon, the building is elegant and the 2019 exhibits are beautiful.

I am not sure why a very large building of dancing has a tiny theater in one part of the building, but the performance was very enjoyable, well done, very comfortable even for tall people, and with good acoustics. The actors wer at least professional, rather than amateurs, and the setup was absolutely as good as it could be with a very small space.

Should be called the Museum of Ballet - all other dance was ignored. Only 1 screen was working in the theatre and I went to the front desk to ask if the others could be turned on and was told the woman who does that just left. Then the girl sitting at the desk went back to watching a movie on her phone. Staff was completely useless. Unless you love ballet, dont waste your time here.Update & Reply to owner - we were there on Sunday, August 26 from noon to 1pm.

A beautiful building, exterior, and interior. We had a bridal shower here and they allowed us to use the venue exactly the way we wanted to. We put in all the labor, but they had tabes and chairs and were very helpful.

Honoring exhibits, missing some labels on costume pieces. Generally missing young dancers who influenced at a very young age; notably Shirley Temple. Better titled Museum of American Dance of the 20th century. Enjoyable for the price.
