Good resort with many amenities. Would have given them 4 stars if all amenities were open as indicated when the reservation was made. Found out one of the key activities we came for was not opened only after arriving.Having inquired at the time of booking and being told it was to open Nov. 1, we decided to come down only to find it closed. Management would make no concession on the price. Seems strange that you pay for a feature but dont get it. Like paying for AC in a car and it comes without and the dealer wont make good.Regardless, most of the staff are great. Facility (parts that are open) is very nice and very well maintained. There are many activities even during the pandemic. Prices are not cheap, so if you are looking for an inexpensive RV park, this is not it. This is truly a resort, so expect the rentals to be at resort rates.Restaurant and bar food is excellent and very competitively priced. Great Happy Hour specials many days each week.Fitness center is very nice with both free weight and machine rooms. Plenty of aerobic machines as well as sauna, large whirlpools, steam room and cold water tank!Oversize indoor and outdoor pools are both heated with lap lanes, but not obnoxiously so.This resort is also a community where people can live up to 9 months a year, so its great getting to know some of those residents. All in all a mostly great experience. Well be back, but well make sure all the amenities we want are open before coming back. Lesson learned....so a couple hours after my post and I got the canned response. Thanks for that!
Looking for fun, friendly and always entertaining RV Resort? Sun n Fun RV Resort has it all!! Friendly, helpful staff; lots to do, great food!!The residents are friendly & fun. Bring your pet, theyll meet lots of new friends.I cant wait to go back in 2021. In fact, Id love to have a residence there! Not far from beautiful Siesta Key Beach!! Looking forward to winter this year!!
Thought it was a little pricey until we got here, but there is so much to do! The grounds are so clean and kept up. Two pools, one indoor and two hot tubs. Every lawn sport you can think of. We will return next year for sure. They loose one star for the crazy perm residents driving over the speed limits on walk/bike paths to avoid speed bumps with their golf carts.
Fun place. Secure. Organized events. Less than a mile from freeway. Large storage rental facility conveniently across the street
Great place to visit, live, and work! Sun n fun is a cut above other resort-style rv parks.
We just left after parking there for 2 months! What an awesome place to stay, specially for the kids. The pool is big and have water slides, the restaurants food is great and inexpensive...the site we stayed had lots of shade and it was very private. I have nothing but good things to say. We will def be back!
Very poor customer service. I came two weeks ago with my family and paid to go swimming. It was bright and sunny out but the pool was closed due to lightning strike and I was not informed of this when purchasing tickets. The pool remain closed and we were given a rain check credit of $60. We came today and had 1 less person and the gate attendant didnt even give me my $10 credit, I had to ask for it. She interrupted me twice, very rude and very unhelpful. I even spoke with a manager who was just as unhelpful. They wouldnt give me my money back or allow me to use the rain check credit for food or drinks. I know its only $10 but I basically feel ripped off and its the principal. So just some advise if you ever get there and the pool is closed ask for a refund not a rain check. The rain check is only good for admission. The $10 credit i now have is useless, i cant use it to buy food or drink and they are soon closing to the public.
My family and I had a great time! We stayed 3 nights. Great for kids! Felt safe to let kids ride their bikes.. Wonderful amenities! Great staff. Clean grounds. We will definitely be back.Thank you Sun n Fun for a wonderful stay! Its greatly appreciated!
Second time camping there. The food from the restaurant was excellent. The staff was curious and quick to help. We will continue to go to this resort.
Great amenities and friendly staff. Long term residents and families visiting for the weekends are al always friendly. Squeaky clean bathrooms/showers, great drinks, entertainment, and events.
Great place to stay with your rig.. huge pool with slide and constant pool side music and games.. bar and restaurant... plus this place is huge, great for walking and biking, lake to fish in... cant beat the amenities or location.
Great Place...Thanks Sun N Fun staff for making our stay so wonderful...we will be telling everyone to visit your Resort...So much to do and so organized ...this place really puts alot of effort into every detail
If I could rate this a negative ten. I would not recommend this place. The customer service needs some serious work. Jerry should not be working with the public. The sun community book says they value customer service but yet they allow this Jerry guy allowed at the front of the community. They charge just for visiting family. And then when you ask any questions you get attitude.
So Sun N Fun RV Resort is a great place for kids, adults, older couple, basically anyone!A lot of nice places to rent out or bring your own RV. Rent a golf cart for really cheap. They have a giant pool with a slide. Unfortunately no diving boards though. Also has a bar wit different mixed drinks everyday a long with your normal beers or beer buckets. They even have special like chair for handicap to get on and get in the water. Amazing pool end of story! Also even have a giant pond where they race RC boats. Even a indoor pool. Also a gmy the list just goes on and onMy favorite is they have a adult hot tub and a childrens hot tub so you can relax with out a bunch of kids bothering your peace. I go there a few times a year because I love it so much. They have daily activities for children and adults.Honestly theres just so many activities and a nice community you just have to see it to experience and believe it.You wont regret coming to Sun N Fun RV Resort!
Very nice place plenty of things to do large swimming pool with a large hit tub very nice staff and centrally located
Great place. Lots to do. Clean and well maintained.
My husband and I stayed here last year in a tent with full hookups. The staff was extremely accomodating, all were very friendly, the park was spotless and they offer so much to do. We learned at the end of our trip last year, that they offer vaction rentals at a very reasonable price, so we are on our way back there today for a week. Definitely one of our favorite spots to vacation! Highly recommend!!!!!
We have stayed multiple times with our dogs and have loved all over our stays and our dogs love the dog park.
We loved everything about it! Great family place! We rented a golf cart and cruised around the whole resort!
We stayed for two months in Nov/Dec 2018. We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed that many of the kid friendly activities werent available including the large slide. That said, this is certainly a premium RV resort and we loved the pool, gym and the activities that were open. Its mostly retired couples at that time of year with the snow birds arriving each week. The location is great with a vehicle, easy access to Fruitville and related stores and an easy drive north one exit on I-75N to Lakewood Ranch and every store/restaurant you could possibly want. Its a 30 min drive to the main beaches with low traffic.
Very cool place, large swimming pool, putt putt, horse shoes, and many more outside games. Many amenities. Large bar everyone is friendly and helpful. Dont try eating between 11:30am and 2pm. The long is very long. But the food is good. The camp site is not ideal for tenting. And youll need an adapter for your electrical needs but if you dont have one you can purchase one for 5 dollars. Bathrooms are clean and cleaned daily.
Great place to stay. The service was so friendly and theres so many fun activities. Loved it.
We love the BOGO day pass. Makes for a nice family day! Love that the attractions are included making it one price! Pool attendant seemed to be somewhat picky on who she said something too about drinks in the pool. Saw several actually in the pool with drinks but when I sat my kids down just to get a cute summer photo she hovered over us until they moved & was very rude when I explained I just wanted to take a quick picture. All in all it was a great day & the kids had a wonderful time.
Nice place. Nice environment. Pool and big water slides are the main draw for kids and big kids. Staff was friendly.
Nice big pool to exercise I got tubs great place to hang out with family
The service is good. Camp sites not at all, for what you pay for it. The slide police would not let my little girls go down the slide. Even though others her hight where. Great drinks and food. The pool is the only thing that makes this campground. Managers around the pool need Communication training!
Expirence camping and poool..and gentle man in front gate acts like family..great person...comfortable and trusting
The staff was friendly. They did a good job of keeping the pool area clean. They were constantly walking around picking up trash and wiping things down. I was really happy that you no longer have to buy a separate wrist band for the slide. My only concern about the facility itself would be I think you should be able to bring in your own water., especially considering the COVID19 situation we are in right now. They had jugs of water and plastic cups, but every hand was touching the jug and your only option was to wait in the bar line to get a glass of water or go back to your camper to get water.Other than that my only real complaint has to do with the patrons, not the staff. The guests that were there were rude, inconsiderate, sloppy... examples would be... blaring there own music LOUDLY (even though there was music playing in the pool area from the facility), throwing trash on the ground (even though there were trash cans everywhere you looked), parking at the front of our campsite (even though the people next to us had 4 of their own sites), trying to bring in several large pizzas from elsewhere and then getting angry/cursing at the staff when they were told that wasnt allowed (even thought the signs very clearly state no outside food is allowed), people allowing their kids to sit in the adult only areas. The employee, Carlos, handled everyone very well even though the patrons were out right rude to him. As I was telling Carlos that they were doing a good job, another patron came up being rude about something else. So Kudos to Carlos for handling the situations well... I would have lost my top.So, all that to say... we made the decision that we will not return to this resort, but not due to the staff or the amenities.
Found this place online and rented a little modular for the weekend to celebrate my sons 13th birthday. Place was packed. Thousands of people actually live here and everyone is supposed to have access to the amenities but management sells tickets to the general public leaving us with nothing to do. Lines were ridiculous and by 11am pool had reach maximum capacity. Was charged extra for each guest that showed up to the party even tought we didnt have any pool access and was not disclaimed on the listing. Was charged $4 a day for 2nd vehicle parking even tought parking is supposed to be free. Couch was broken upon arrival and my 2year felt trough it immediately. Only one bathroom and we couldnt use it for the first day because it was clogged. Wouldnt recommended.
This place is amazing. Like an all in one vacation village. There are tons of people and things to do on site. Theres also good food, bbq and music across the street at the Texaco gas station.
Get the weekend pass and enjoy the giant size with temperature controlled water.
Great campground! Your kids will love it (during the summer). They have a huge outdoor pool an awesome slide. While we were there, they had other attractions (run by an outside vendor) that you could buy a day or weekend pass for, a bounce house, a gyroscope ride, a bungie trampoline, and a shark that is similar to a bull ride. Very clean campground and nice staff.
This place has always been fun. They are a little on the pricey side now. But I guess that just comes with the times.
This place is awesome. So much to do, so close to the beach. Had a great time here.
Beautiful pool and facility. Very peaceful.
Stayed here on 4th of July weekend, over 4 nights. Very clean and well maintained. Its a weird mix of permanent transplants, seasonal snowbirds, and weekend campers... they really pack the trailers and RVs in here, so if a secluded space is what youre looking for then look elsewhere. To me, thats the only drawback, and why I cant give them 5 stars... But most people know what theyre getting into before they come, and it can be a pretty good time -- at least good people- watching... the pool is nice and clean. They have a ton of activities, but for the most part they seem to cater those towards the long- term tenants... I could definitely see someone from up north wanting to retire to this lifestyle. Also, FYI, social distancing during Covid is barely recognizable at the pool area, so if you expect a camping trip to be a safe adventure, then try somewhere else.. although they have shut down most other activities in the resort due to Covid.
Expensive and seemed like a big party. No peace and quiet here I thought.
Lots of Amenities, clean bathrooms, great pool area, staff is very helpful and friendly, full hookup, great wifi and cable, lots of local sites and things to do.
Love my new home and everything here!! Paradise
Nice place, great location off of Rt 75. Lots to do and friendly people. WiFi and TV weak. Rent from Facebook, cheaper.
Always a great time. Nice bar fair prices and a nice day trip
Love this place! Great park, great food and roomy sites!
We have visited several times. We love that its not to far from home, but we get out of the house. Its a good time for all. There are things for all ages. Pool, giant slide, music, bar and grill... we always have a good time.
Visiting area a couple of weeks ago and my daughter recommended this place. What an awesome facility with state of the art workout areaand an awesome pool area with a pool for all ages!Great bar and grill poolside! We will visit again next time we are in town!
WARNING ABOUT DEALING WITH SUN N FUN Sarasota!I didnt want to have to do this but sometimes there is a need to vent and warn others online especially after I have warned parties that I would and they challenged us and didnt seem to care. Interesting that Sun N Funs reputation is in peoples like this is hands.I am not sure where to start as there is so much to say. Me and my husband have lived here at Sun N Fun for over a year now full time with our 3 kids and rent a second lot for our nonoccupancy. Since day 1 we have been nothing but lied to over and over and over and over and over and treated unfairly and when confronting certain people in the office about what we were told that had turned out not to be turn they just deny ever saying it. One person I will not name as of yet and refuse to now deal with is a compulsive liar and has done this on countless occasions. Do others have this same experience? There is a current issue we are trying to deal with because over the last few months the rules have been twisted in a way that only applies to us and on purpose just for us and on top of that many of you know there is ZERO enforcement of the rules being done to others in the park about any of the rules anyways. A clear example of this is take a ride around the park and count the amount of vehicles parked on the grass by home owners every single day. I counted 31 on Saturday! That is one rule of many that is only being shoved down our necks and we have had it. How about the 48 hour loading purposes rule? How many people get to use this? But we are not allowed to! Our rent for our nonoccupancy lot was tripled till we threw a fit about it to corp! This was after we were promised it wouldnt change when we signed our contract! and on and on and on. There is way too MUCH to say of our dealing with the poor management here but I will save it as I am pretty sure most home owners feel the same am I right? My question to you all is who do I talk to in Michigan to get some action taken against management as we are about to have to spend money on a lawyer. Yes its came this far and we are at that door. Even Gene May was very helpful at first but now doesnt seem to care enough to properly respond or want to deal with our issue correctly. Who is above her? How do you get these people to do there jobs? It took 3 emails and the third being forwarded to Gene May with a threat to sue to even get the current management to respond on email and when they did respond it was a joke and more waste of time. Now they have went on Holiday how convenient. Any help is much appreciated!
Im a handyman and I do some light home repairs for some of the residents I do not have experience with the amenities of the park
Loved loved loved this place. Amenities were top notch.
Was told to remove my Trump flag from my camper by the employees of the park. This will be the last time I camp there.
Everything you need in one place. The indoor pool and hot tub and steam room and sauna and cold pool and exercise room are state of the art, luxurious and clean. The outdoor pool and activity area provide great fun for everyone. We love the dog parks. The staff is so nice.
By all means nice place. Id visit again
Great place for kids and fun for adults too
My family loves going here
Great place to stay with my children. Something for everyone to do. Definitely will be coming back again!
Had a great experience especially with the Halloween events
Really cool vacation spot if you have a rv
My husband and I had a blast . Staff is friendly. Food and drinks are good..
Fun place. We would go again.
Great campground. Nice family atmosphere.
I have Silver Sneakers and I saw that their fitness center is included. Someone else also recommended it, so I went. I was surprised. This place is truly a gem. I felt right at home and very comfortable here. The staff was helpful and friendly. Jordan and Wendy got me all set up! They were helpful with other customers as well. So glad I found this place. It has a heated, Olympic size pool, sauna and steam room. The jacuzzi wasnt working but I hope it will be soon.
More and more families are camping; it would be nice to see more family events on the calendar. Also, website shows fire rings which you do not have. Pool is listed as heated and it was cold. It also shows a slide which was not open for the kids because of staffing. The grounds need work; putt putt is in rough shape. Many of the activities are only available during scheduled times. Randall was great. This felt like a retirement community less like campground.
Weve been going there 8 years for vacations. Love the weather, closeness the things to do in Sarasota & beaches. However, this year was a disappointing stay. Pricey, but amenities are there, if you get out and use them with 2 huge pools and so on. Our disappointment this year? The bed was horribly uncomfortable, the cottages furniture was newer but as uncomfortable as the bed. They no longer clean your cottage, we were promised fresh linens after 2 weeks (how about weekly???) And the linen exchange did not happen. I have emailed their General Manager, the Asst. Manager, and Corporate - so far a missed call & message (which was returned x2 by me) So responsiveness is not there.
Carfree holidayresort. Leave your car home and get a golfcart instead
Not really made for real traveling campers but a retirement village with numerous park homes. Spaces are small and roads are tight. However they have a lot of activities going on daily. I do applaud Sun-N-Fun for offering camping for non snowbirds who are not looking for monthly residence.
Everyone so helpful and friendly
Stayed here Jan 1st for 4 nights in travel trailer. The amenities this place has for kids/families is unreal. We loved the giant pool, water slide, kids splash park, poolside food and drinks at reasonable prices, and best of all, the best shuffle board courts I have ever seen and played on. Can’t wait to come back!
Very nice RV resort. Wild busy! Very clean. The employees were great. Well stay again!
We love sun n fun. Great for families & their staff is top notch
Great sized pools and World class fitness
Though sometimes hard to get a spot, this is a very nice campground in Sarasota with a great pool and other recreations.
We enjoy all the amenities Sun N Fun has to offer us as RV’rs. The only downfall is they open their pool to the public which diminishes the enjoyment for us.
Great place with really nice spots for RVs. Kids love the pool. Food at the pool is good and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere from the residents too.
This place is amazing! The people are so nice. Everything was clean and taken care of. The kids loved the pool and the cottage. It was so nice to be able to cook some meals while on vacation. Lots of amenities and fun to be had. Plenty of stores and restaurants near by and tons of activities to do and visit. Definitely planning another vacation here!
Outstanding amenities nice location off highway. Near some of the best gulf beaches in Florida as well as all the cultural activities available in Sarasota.
Nice place very large
Had an AWESOME time with my kid. Great, affordable fun! He had a blast.
Awesome gym, with great indoor and outdoor pool, steam room, sauna, full gym and great exercise classes! The place is very clean and the staff is great.
Such a great time, was just here for my godsons birthday party, everyone had a blast and I love that you can get food and drinks right at the pool.
Had a great time everyone was great. The person that took me to my space was very generous. Paid 54 with triple AAA card Rebecca from Rhode Island help me with that.
The park and sites were very clean. The trailer we stayed in was immaculate. We were completely surprised. People were friendly in the park. Only thing that ww didnt like was the big slide and rock climb wall was not open. We even asked for it to be open and was turned down. That was the reason we chose sun n fun. Besides the closures, it was extremely nice.
Really cool place to hangout with kids and friends or family. Nice 6ft deep pool and water slide also bar and restaurant on site.
Very clean place. Bathrooms are kept clean and are well lit. The womens restrooms are closed from 11a-12p for cleaning and I believe the mens are either 10a-11a or 12p-1p, every day. They offer putt-putt golf, volleyball, tennis, horseshoes, and much more. They have a laundry facility, a huge gym (for an extra daily fee), 2 heated hot tubs (one at 94/98° and one at 104°), a huge pool up to 6 feet deep, a slide, and a kiddie area. They have handicap accessible chairs that will place you into the pool. They have a food concession which is decently prices and a bar area. They offer activities such as water aerobics, stretching, live music, sidewalk sales, etc. There is a lake that you can run along and they offer RC boat races. The grounds are huge, lots of things to do and room to run/walk. Golf cart and pet friendly. My only disappointment was that we came with my 5 year old but when we booked, they did not let us know that the slide would be closed and the kiddie pool would be under construction. He was unable to swim there and since swimming is new for him, the big pool was intimidating so we had to use the cooler of the 2 hot tubs so he could learn to feel comfortable.
This large RV resort has everything your looking for. Its not like regular RV parks. Theres palm trees instead of pine trees.Theres so many activities. Theres an very large indoor pool complex, live entertainment, two restaurants, a dog wash station with warm water and other activities.
This is a great place to host a kids birthday party. Lots of fun to be had!
As always Sun-N-Fun has excellent accommodations for super competitive prices for the area. Service and staff are hard to beat. Sun-n-fun has perfected what guest services should be. I will continue to return every time I am in the area. Great family and friends!
I had a ton of fun and you get a ton for your money
I am really disappointed. I have been going to this place since 1998. Improvements are great. But the prices and summer pass..out of sight!..its good to see them patrol the pool...but way too many drunks. They should be careful serving a drunk more alcohol...
Great Fun RV Resort...And I learned lawn bowling!
This place was lovely. Anytime you come to sarasota come here. They have a pool, kitty area for your kids, and a lot of space. I definitely recommend Sun-N-Fun RV Resort. Also they have reasonable prices.
Small water area one good water slide other entrainment for kids. Bar and restaurant where good. Friendly staff.
Loved this place, great time with the grandkids ages 9,7 and 3. So much to do here in the water. It was clean and organized well. We stayed the whole day while on vacation at Seista keys. We came on a Wednesday. 3 adults 2 kids (3 and under free) and out cost was 28 dollars. Lunches for kids were only 3 dollars. Very affordable and time well spent. Kids loved the indoor obstacle course, bungee jumping and huge water slide. Adults if you need to rest up they have a great bar!Definitely take your family here, you will be happy you did.
After a day in the sun at the soccer field, tried to use the indoor pool, but to was rudely communicated you can’t as soon as I walked in the door. Yet no one was using it for “exercising.” There was no welcome if my daughter wanted to try laps in the lap pool. She would have gladly accepted the invitation out of the sun and honorably used it for it’s purpose or decided no thank you. Perhaps having a more tactful pool monitor would improve this resort.
Visited my relatives who live here - loved their little setup. They told me about all the activities this place offers. My mother came with me and said she would love to bring her grandchildren here to participate in the human sized hungry hungry hippos game, the pool, and the other all-ages activities. It was very easy to navigate. The gatekeeper woman was very helpful and drew us our route to get to our relatives place on the map. Very foolproof.
Great place to take the family. Day pass includes almost everything on the property. Huge pool, water slide, kiddie pool area, put put golf, volleyball, horseshoes, could go on forever.
Fantastic location with a lot to do for the family... centrally located
We’ve been visiting Sun N Fun for the last 4-5 years. This year was a disappointing year. The staff was rude, unorganized, poor management, arguing in public... all around terrible. We book 4-5 spots every year. We have around 15-20 people. We bring our side by sides and take our kids trick or treating. We follow the rules and regulations of the park. The woman I booked with knew we were bringing our ranger and didn’t mention a word to us that they were no longer allowed in the park. We drove over an hour and a half with our ranger and were told at the gate (very rudely) that we couldn’t ride it in the park. And to take our concerns to the front office. I spoke with the mgr and the best they could do was provide 4 golf carts for 19 people. All of us were bringing our rangers. They said they were enforcing this last year which was not true. We were not stopped or notified when we checked in about this new rule. We settled for the golf carts since we had already rented our campers for the weekend and paid for our camp plus drove all that way.We were told we were checked in and good to go after the situation was discussed- then when the rest of our family started coming in they were told we weren’t in the park and to turn around because they weren’t allowed in. (This was at 4 and we had been checked in since noon). We went to the gate and they were frustrated and aggravated because THEY didn’t do their job... they had multiple sites under our name which were incorrect. We had friends at a spot further away from our camp and stopped to say hi. Staff came up after only about 1 min of us being stopped and said we couldn’t park where we had stopped. We moved and with in 2 mins he was in the same spot talking to someone for about 5-7 minutes. We stopped at the pool to get a drink and the bartenders were yelling and cursing about being out of patron. Two drink orders took 30 mins.As we trick or treated with our kids we saw a ranger at a camp off the trailer decorated...by far our worst experience at the resort. We will no longer be returning. Very disappointing this was one of our favorite holiday outings!
