Selby Aquatic Center has a great pool and nice family water park. In the Summer, the pool was chilled nicely. Fantastic for lap swimmers.However, it is no longer managed by the adjacent YMCA. Instead, the Sarasota Sharks swim team has taken over management. Now, it’s closed more than open.Even Sharks swim team members swim elsewhere to get all their workouts in. Not open to public on weekends. Lifeguard availability and number required seem to be a problem. Future availability to lap swimmers may be limited to USMS membersThe dive boards, platforms and jacuzzi have been removed for insurance reasons. The water park is ONLY open on weekends during the summer. What a cryin’ shame of mismanagement.

My son is in the younger group for swim and he loves it so much. As a program, they are beyond amazing. They let every kid work at their own pace, while pushing them to be amazing. And it works! My son has never felt so happy with one of his hobbies. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is because of the pricing. When they separated from the YMCA and raised their prices for the water park, it made it harder to bring my son for casual activities with friends.

Nice facility. Clean. Plenty of shade. Hosted the Florida Special Olympics regional swim meet. Everyone had a fantastic time. Plenty of parking.

Venue is amazing just like the people that host the swim meets.

The sharks swim class for little kids was absolutely wonderful! I saw a HUGE progression with just one session (4 wks/2 times a wk) for my 4 and 6 year old. The swim coaches were great with my kids while also pushing them to try. I cant recommend this swim class enough.

This is one of, if not the best venue in Florida for swimming. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the amazing HD video score board, to the best announcer in the country. This is the best place to have a swim meet. I will definitely return to this pool as many times as possible for swim meets.

Super fun for the kids.. for a small waterpark, it was nice and not packed... would be nice to have to season pass available(hence the 4 stars).. Not trying to pay $40 every time I take my family to the waterpark..

Beautiful swimming facility. We were there for a high school swim meet. Parking is difficult when a large event is going on.

This was one of our favorite spots. We’ve had birthday parties here & all. Went today and was extremely disappointed. The two kiddie areas were shut down, no more concession stand, and the playground in the water was rusty. What a bummer!

They took away the water fountains for the little kids, opening hours are shorter and you still have to pay same price.You have to pay separately if you like to swim lanes

What a great place that conquers all; a little family time with the littles ones in a clean waterpark just their size, an olympic size pool for lap swimming, a masters team and a high level club swim team, the Sarasota Sharks, all in one spot?! The place was very well maintained, and everyone working there was super friendly and informative, best aquatic facility in Sarasota by far...

Tons and tons of swimming

Used to be a great 50m pool to swim laps, but changed politics and more team oriented. Daily pool & locker room maintenance & cleaning was deteriorating.

When we signed up for the Y, the splash area was free. One month later, we were told they sold it. Very disappointed. It just sits there during the week - even in the summer. And the new price is steep for a toddler who wouldn’t be there much more than an hour - plus the adult to sit and watch.The price needs to be cut in half (at least for Y members) and it needs to include weekday hours.

Greatest place on earth for Masters Swim workout. Outdoors, 50 meters. Heated in the winter, chilled in the summer. Whats not to like? Google sharks masters Swim team for schefule.

Beautiful pool they have high school and college swim teams practice there- beautiful facility with the YMCA and in there unbelievable gym with everything!

Great swimming, especially if youre a snowbird who has had to swim indoors for the last 5 months. Lots of lanes available and clean mens locker room.

Great place to go with kids to beat the summer heat. You cannot bring in food or drinks but the food from the concessions is very good and resonably priced. Great way to spend part of your day!

The staff was very polite and friendly, we were welcomed with open arms. The facility is clean and well maintained.

Great pool for training!

I went there once for my sons swimming meet (flag). There is a big playground near the swimming pool and enough parking lots but not enough for such a big swimming meet. However, it was good experience to visit this place.

Just found out recently that the outdoor pool cut its hours for member lap swimming during the week. Not only that, it is not open on weekends either for lap swimming. Very disappointed.
