Great Course! I played 18 holes in an outing and had a good time

Nice layout but course was in very poor condition. In all fairness it was very wet from latest rains. Greens were very slow and in poor condition. Wait staff inside were very nice lunch was very good.

The employees were GREAT. However, the course was in poor shape.Although, it appears that their cleaning it up. There were a few new wooden bridges and a tree trimming company cutting down trees and trimming trees.

I would not go back to this course. Christine and the cart guy were very nice. After signing, christine said we can head out, not knowing everyone was out on the course. Our tee time was 6:49, we get to hole 1 and there was group about 150 yrs out. a group on the tee and a twosome waiting to tee off. I found out there were people heading out before there tee time and there was guys playing in a league games. So the golf course seemed unorganized and dont care about following tee times

Goat Ranch...greens, fairways, tee boxes are crab grass city. Entire course looks like a public dump site.

Staff is nice. Course is interesting. Putting greens are poor representation of the actual greens. This course is clearly over-played.

This course is in awful shape. Crab grass throughout most greens. Seemed overgrown. There are much better “cheap” golf courses. No marshal - pace of play was very slow. Decent layout though. Will not go back. A year ago it was much better...something’s changed.

Played 2 rounds here this week. The course was in good repair and the green fee included breakfast and lunch with a beverage. Who else does that?

Good price for 18 and lunch. Fairways are green but waterlogged. Lots of dirt and hard ground in rough. Greens appear to have a secondary grass invading them. Fair warning, apron and greens are real slow. No run to them. They stop like velcro.

It was in horrible shape from tee to green. For $60,, it was the worst golf value I hav had in a while. The tee boxes are all unlevel. Green were shaggy. Poor shape. Sand traps were like rocks and hard as hell. Very disappointed. Wont go back there

Played in early May, 9:00 tee time, for $38. Included range balls, breakfast or lunch, and couple draft beers. Course was a 3.5 out of 5. I would make this a daily stop for sure.

Nice course, great customer service. Good bar/grill for before/after your round. Excellent deals including breakfast or lunch with green fees. Mike is an excellent bar host.

We had a 1:35 p.m. tee time. Pro shop staff was friendly. No ice in cooler to take during our round.Course was in fairly good shape, but the greens were a bit rough from previous pin settings.No ice stations on the course.

Really great value Sarasota. Course is in very good condition. Challenging layout but fun an playable. The staff was helpful. I will definitely be back.

Great coarse, good food, not a bad day ever!

I. Became a member at 35.99 per month. All the range balls anytime and unlimited 18 holes after 6pm. Since Im still trying to play after 4 surgeries. The staff is always very friendly, and their pro K.C. is great. John in pro shop is quick to get you playing. Cant beat this deal for golfing.

The old man that works the register in the pro shop is by far the most miserable guy I have ever met in my life. He couldn’t care any less about his job. He brings this place down and I will not golf here anymore until he is gone. And I’m out here 2-3 times a week.

I like the challenge of the course for man in the late 70s. Very good food also. Pleasant cart people.

Booked a 607am tee time, but the sun doesnt rise until around 640 in this area—man working in clubhouse said he didnt know how we booked that early. Greens—which are probably the smallest in existence—were unplayable due to aeration. Left after 9 and tried to get my free breakfast as part of the “deal”, but there was nobody there to wait on me. Due yourself a favor and play Sarasota National for roughly the same price—its well manicured and a fair challenge.

In the past this was the most incredible golf course. The new owners arent taking care of it. The goal is to get people to play by offering free food and beer. What keeps us going back is the great staff, good food and friends weve made there.

Nice course, good staff....cant complain for the price. With the way the course lays out, ponds and creeks, they either need a scorecard with pictures or a GPS system. Very thankful for the couple we were paired with. Shared their knowledge and made the course easier to negotiate.

Great course for the money. Dont expect much from the club due to being aged and in need of much renovation. Course tends to be flooded after rains, but good deal if dry. Enjoy...

This place is two notches over amazing. There are ball washers and shoe cleaning towels and dog waste area but every hole of golf is amazing the people there are nice and generous and very helpful and the landscape is amazing from corner to corner you have got to visit this place

I didnt know what to expect since the course just sold to new owners. All I can say is Wow. The greens were fast and smooth and the fairways were awesome. Easy to hit a 3 wood off the ground - like the ball was teed up.They include breakfast, lunch and 2 beers for free. What a deal for $55 and the food was actually great. They have home made lunch specials daily. Why cant every course be like this? Played in 4 hours and 25 minutes so was a great day. Cheers

Nicely maintained course but wow the greens are fast! I dont think Ive 3 putted more in my life, but overall great challenging course.

Might not even be a 3 star. Needs a lot of work and a lot of water.

We went for an event at the clubhouse. While a beautiful facility that are NO lights on the road and its extremely difficult to see at night. The clubhouse itself was clean and nicely furnished.

Great course stuck up people in the clubhouse staff golf shop. Never been treated like that in my life from a peon. Love the course dislike like the people. But hey Im there for golf screw them

All the amenities are unbelievable. The pro shop folks are very accommodating. A great overall experience. Based on the past reviews, it obviously run by another management group.

Seemed a bit slow but we played in 4 hours. Nice greens, nice layout. Lots of water. Complimentary lunch with 2 draught beers.

It was a very nice day....great to play golf. However, I do not rate this course highly. We were called to the first tee almost 30 minutes early and discovered the starter was cranky. He wanted to get everyone lined up so he could go eat. Play was slow..a bit over 5 hours. The tee boxes were ragged and domed so that you didnt get a flat lie to tee off. Greens were slow and bumpy, and course conditions were fair at best. On the positive side, the course layout is pretty good and the lunch (included with the greens fees) had good selections and was tasty. As there are many other better courses in the area, we wont play Serenoa again.

POOR SERVICE Purchased a bucket of range balls and received 10 balls from the self-serve hopper. Informed the starter of this and he supposedly informed the guy. 30 minutes later the range boy picked the entire range and did not approach tee box to give me the range balls I was owed, despite me attempting to flag him down. The pro shop managers response was he should have brought you the balls and the starter, sitting in the pro shop had no explanation for not following up with this. No apologies for this.

If youre in Sarasota area looking to get your moneys worth on a round on a beautiful golf course look no further. Of course the course has a decent amount of wear and tear but for $50 it is a steal. One of the best Public golf course in the Sarasota area

This course is well maintained and a blast to play!

We knew we were in trouble when we overheard the Starter describe the greens as S****y. Like putting on bad asphalt. Bumpy with lots of bare spots. Tees just as bad with fairways marginally better. Rough nothing but hard dirt. Pace of play not bad on front nine but back nine a different story since Starter was squeezing groups in on #10 between groups coming off #9. By 11th hole backed up two groups. Took almost 3 hours to play back nine. Their lunch and two sodas or beers is a scam. We were told we could get our drinks and sandwiches either on the course from the cart girl or in the snack shop. When we attempted to order from cart girl we were told we could only get a half of sandwich and one drink from her and if we wanted the full sandwich and two drinks we had to get it from the snack bar. Oh, and watch out for holes in the rough that arent marked. Lucky no one in our group broke an ankle after stepping in one on #9. Sitting here right now with ice on my ankle while writing this. Lots of nicer places to play for the money.

The course on the front nine was okay back nine was in good condition where the front greens was not healed because of being punched played before and was surprised that the fairways and greens were nice to play looking forward to playing there again

The business manager of Sarasota Golf Club is a genius. Nobody in the area offers such bargain deals as this club. $35 monthly membership for snowbirds is a catch. A daily package $38 including greenfee, golfcart, lunch and 2 beer! The discount acts like a magnet and the course is filled all the time. $10 a large bucket of balls accompanied with an other beer! The wifi code in the dining room is exoticpotato570 which giving a hint of the food quality. Other clubs try to copy the idea, but here the behind the bargain is a great course and the combination is a winner.

Let me just say, staff is friendly. Everything else is just a mess. The course was muddy and soft even without rain in weeks. Greens were terrible but at least I can Blame my poor putting on that. My biggest issue is something that Im all too familiar with living here in Florida. The course was ridiculously overbooked. Front 9 took about 2h45 minutes. When we got to the turn, inexplicably, there were 4 groups of 4 still waiting to tee off on 10.asked to get a pass for 9 to play a later day, but couldnt because I used golfnow, which I understand. But will not return
