Theres honestly not that much to do here. Theres a turf field with a soccer field that can be booked for use and theres a small playground with a few things to play on, but most of the area of this park is taken up by parking lot. Granted, these are important parking lots for people going to the beach or the boardwalk, and there are walking paths that lead down to the water, but its just not that exciting. Its fun to watch the train go by on summer afternoons though

It was ok but i like the way the park was before now every ramp is huge. And u have to pay to park 6$an hour. There are funner parks in cruz that has free parking

Lovely park. It used to be a wonderful place to take young kids. They turned it into a Skatepark & removed the wonderful rope climbing gym. Lots of people play soccer here & its within walking distance of both downtown & the beach & boardwalk. The train also passes by, making a visit here exciting for little ones.

The site of the old railroad yard. The train depot is now a small general use building. Voting for the downtown area takes place here. There is a large parking lot and a well kept soccer field, which is also used for emergency evacuation helicopters. After the great earthquake planners intend to use this location for long term logistics and supply as it is the only large open area in Santa Cruz, and very close to the wharf, which will be the route for relief supplies for at least several months. Currently the city is considering a permanent homeless camp here. There is some talk of using this space for a larger more permanent Warriors arena.

Who knew you could pay to park here and either enjoy this little gem or walk to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. I paid $10.00 for the day. Then I discovered The Monterey Marine Museum which is free public entrance along my stroll. I would not have discovered this educational establishment if I wouldnt have parked here.

Nice turf field - not too much shade. Paid parking is on either side of the field and can be scarce. There is also metered parking on the street. There are restrooms on site so thats always a plus.

Its plagued on one side by a soccer field with no seating, bathrooms with no doors on the stalls and no soap in the dispensers and to round out the category of shame the tressel is just to the other side where the junkies, tweakers and local vampires haunt. The local streets team has their beach crews shed here and you can almost bet there is someone shooting up behind it. If not, just wait for five minutes or follow the trail of needle caps. On the bright side, there is a skate park here. On Tuesdays you can catch dinner at the main building on the property with The Salvation Army and then walk up the street after waiting hours and stay at a crowded shelter where you can guarantee to be greeted at five in the morning by the sweet sounds of people with uncontrolled and rampant, symptomatic mental illness. These are also the exact people who frequent the park. Too long, didnt read - Its a parking lot, really.

5 dollar Parking all Day! Cant beat that near board walk. Yes it 5min walk to the pier. And about 8min walk to board Walk. And its a nice walk. But if u walking anyways might as well park here. Or pay $12-$20 at the boardwalk parking across the street or meters at 2hour max for $6.
