Brand-spankin fresh out the box new renovations make this a perfectly glorious pool in which to swim.The Hardware:New resurfacing of their outdoor 50 meter poolCrystal clear waters of perfect temperatureDeep gutters and sturdy lane ropes (properly tightened) to help decrease the wakeStandard, but clean locker-roomThe Fluff:Spectacular setting next to UCSCs East field, with exceptional vistas over town and out to the ocean. You can go for a good workout, than lay on the grass, watching the clouds make Slug mascot shapes as they roll back over the ocean.The Logistics:If you arent a student, you can swim here by way of joining their excellent Masters team or (according to the website) by purchasing a Wellness Pass.I know that gastropods like water, so perhaps its no surprise that the UCSC Banana Slugs made this the crown jewel of their sports facilities. Id gladly swim here every day if I lived down here. (Dont worry, no actual slugs in the pool!)

The building is on top of the entrance to the pools which took me forever to find. But after that its pretty small place.

Great swimming pool. Often overcrowded though.
