Beautiful park acriss the street from our beautiful Mission in Santa Barbara. Lots of gorgeous varieties of roses. Green space to sit and enjoy the views. Pleasant place for a picnic. Definitely a perfect place for a small wedding ceremony! Gorgeous views and plenty of open space in addition to the numerous areas of roses!

I was looking to photograph flowers for my instagram account and discovered that the Rose Garden was still in full bloom today, 10/21.We stopped and spent about 1/2 hour wandering thru the garden. The scents today were just heavenly.

Despite it being a chilly and windy day, the roses were bright, in bloom, fragrant, and as lovely as I imagined. I love the different names they all carry and how many of the names fit the bloom perfectly. For some reason the bright pink Fame! really stuck out to me.

The Mission Rose Garden is well worth visiting if you are in the Santa Barbara area. It is located just East of the Santa Barbara Mission and is an easy walk just across the street. It contains over 1500 rose bushes that bloom from April thru December, with the peak bloom in early June. The garden is surrounded by a gently sloping field of grass that is an ideal spot to eat a picnic lunch, but be warned there are no tables. A short walk away are the remains of the original Mission Aqueduct and a nice wooded area with a wonderful old dead tree perfect for young children to climb. Make sure and visit the Mission and the Santa Barbara Botanic garden located a few miles up the canyon.

Serene and tranquil, at sunset you can relax in the shadows cat by the historic Queen of the California Missions, the Santa Barbara Mission. Whether its for a game of frisbee with the kids or if youre lucky, catching one of the many traditional cultural festivities or just gathering with friends and family, the Mission Rose Gardens is a lovely place to spend an afternoon while visiting Santa Barbara.

One of the most beautiful and picturesque locales in a city that is the gem of the central coast. From the top of the gardens you can see the ocean and with the Mission as a backdrop there are few better places to spend the day. Picnic, read, spend time with family and friends, its the ideal spot. The roses are exquisite and a lovely draw on their own.

After walking the grounds my partner and I came upon this amazing garden. Though her first concern was needing a Benadryl and she actually didnt want to enter the area of the flowers we did have our masks on and she decided to take the risk. She ended up having no side effects from the floral smells. What I really liked was how just about every rose was different from the one beside of it. What I do not and still do not understand even after reading the website itself and wiki is exactly what all the plaques mean. Some are from the late 1800s, some say Tea some say Poly, and every plaque has a different name. What are these plaques? Its ok! Ill continue to do more research and find out more. The garden is so big and we had already journied around the entire park so much we couldnt even get thru the whole thing. Definitely a site to see!
